平板显示器及其使用的数字数据处理装置
技术领域
本发明涉及一种通过数字通讯方式接收显示信息的平板显示器,以及应用它连接模拟型显示器的数字处理装置。
背景技术
对于如个人计算机系统这样的数字处理装置来说,使用CRT(阴极射线管)作为显示器已经是很普通了。现在,同样广泛使用的还有平板显示器如LCD(液晶显示器)和等离子体显示器。通常情况下,这种平板显示器通过将从主机(如一个个人计算机系统)接收到的视频信号转换为相应的数字数据来重现影像。
如图1所示,一个传统LCD系统一般包括一个ADC(模数转换器)210,一个PLL电路(锁相环路)220,一个视频数据转换器230,一个LCD驱动器240和一个LCD显示板250。ADC210将一个模拟RGB(红、绿、蓝)视频信号转换为一个相应的数字视频数据212。PLL电路220根据从主机100接收到的一个同步信号104产生一个内部时钟信号。视频数据转换器230根据时钟信号222转换数字视频数据212。这是为了当主机100提供的显示分辨率与LCD显示器的不同时,使供给至LCD240驱动器的象素点和线的数目与之相适应。LCD显示板250由LCD驱动器240驱动,显示视频信号。这种传统的平板显示器有以下缺点。
用于将主机的模拟视频信号转换为数字视频信号的ADC必须以至少两倍于模拟视频信号的频率进行采样操作。另外,PLL电路必须具有一个宽广的锁定范围。这导致平板显示器的整体造价显著增长。而且,在模数转换中还可能经常发生信号丢失和抖动现象,使得转换不稳定。此外,由于受ADC和PLL电路的工作特性影响,输入信号的允许频率范围是非常有限的。还有,平板显示器的屏幕尺寸一般很小,这使得在多人情况下作演示很不方便。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是提供一种显示由数字数据处理装置提供的数字显示信息的平板显示器。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种能与一个模拟型显示器相连接的平板显示器,从而可在多人情况下方便地作演示。
根据本发明的一个实施例,经串行数字通信从处理数字数据的主机接收包括一个视频数据和一个同步数据的一个显示信息的平板显示器包括,一个用于重建显示信息的接收器,一个通过从重建的显示信息中提取同步数据来产生一个同步信号的同步信号发生器,一个用于将视频数据转换为模拟视频信号的数模转换器,和一个用于将同步信号和模拟视频信号传输至一个模拟型显示器的输出端子。
更理想的情况下,还要包括一个用于转换视频数据的象素点和线数目的视频数据转换器,这是为了当同步数据与规定的显示模式不同时与后者保持一致。同步信号发生器是用来根据显示模式产生同步信号。
根据本发明的另一实施例,提供了一种应用于平板显示器的数字数据处理装置,它可以显示来自一个处理数字数据的主机的显示信息。该数字数据处理装置包括,一个与主机相连以串行数据方式传输数字显示信息的传送器,一个用于重建显示信息的接收器,一个通过从重建的显示信息中提取同步数据来产生一个同步信号的同步信号发生器,一个用于将视频数据转换为模拟视频信号的数模转换器,和一个用于将同步信号和模拟视频信号传输至一个模拟型显示器的输出端子。平板显示器包括接收器,同步信号发生器和输出端子。
更理想的情况下,还要包括一个用于转换视频数据的象素点和线数目的视频数据转换器,这是为了当同步数据与规定的显示模式不同时与后者保持一致。同步信号发生器是用来根据显示模式产生同步信号。
就这样,主机以串行数字数据通信方式提供显示信息,该显示信息被传送至平板显示器以显示数字视频信号,和/或被转换为模拟视频信号,送至一个模拟型显示器根据相应同步信号进行显示。
现在仅以举例方式参考附图对本发明作更为具体的描述。

具体实施方式
参考图2,主机300配有传送器310用来以数字通信方式传送显示信息312(例如,根据IEEE1394)。本发明的LCD400包括一个接收器410,一个视频数据转换器420,一个同步信号发生器430,一个LCD驱动器240,一个RAMDAC440,一个输出端子450,和一个LCD显示板250。
接收器410将从传送器310接收到的显示信息重建,从而提供给视频数据转换器420一个数据412,该数据包括一个RGB视频数据和一个象素点时钟信号。当需要视频数据转换时,视频数据转换器420根据LCD400所支持的分辨率改变视频数据的象素点和线的数目,并将转换后的视频数据422传送至LCD驱动器240。另一方面,转换后的视频数据424被送至RAMDAC440,此处它将被转换为一个模拟型RGB视频信号442并被传送至输出端子450。一个用于水平和垂直同步的数据414被送至同步信号发生器430,在此产生一个同步信号432,该信号被传送至输出端子用于模拟显示。
与输出端子450相连的模拟型显示器可以是,例如一个CRT显示器,它包括一个放大器510,一个偏转信号发生器520,一个高压发生器530,和一个CRT540。CRT显示器500从输出端子450接收模拟视频信号442和同步信号432。模拟视频信号442经放大器510放大,放大后的信号512被送至CRT540。同步信号432被传送至偏转信号发生器520,从而向CRT540提供相应的偏转信号522。
就这样,主机300以串行方式向LCD400提供数字显示数据,从而在LCD显示板250上再现影像;同时,与LCD400的输出端子450相连的CRT显示器500接收模拟视频信号和同步信号,在CRT540上显示影像。
如上所述,所发明的平板显示器不需要一个单独的ADC,因为它是以数字数据方式接收显示信息,并且提供了与模拟型显示器相连接的途径。

Claims (3)

1.一种平板显示器,从一个以串行数字通讯方式处理数字数据的主机接收包括一个视频数据和一个同步数据的显示信息,该显示器包括:
一个用于重建显示信息的接收器;
一个通过从重建的显示信息中提取同步数据来产生一个同步信号的同步信号发生器;
一个用于将所述视频数据转换为模拟视频信号的数模转换器;
和一个用于将同步信号和模拟视频信号传输至一个模拟型显示器的输出端子。
2.如权利要求1定义的一种平板显示器,其特征在于还包括一个用于转换视频数据的象素点和线数目的视频数据转换器,这是为了当所述同步数据与规定的显示模式不同时与后者保持一致,所述同步信号发生器用来根据显示模式产生同步信号。
3.一种用于平板显示器的数字数据处理装置,用于显示从一个处理数字数据的主机所接收的显示信息,该数字数据处理装置包括:
一个与所述主机相连以串行数据方式传输数字显示信息的传送器;
一个用于重建显示信息的接收器;
一个通过从重建的显示信息中提取同步数据来产生一个同步信号的同步信号发生器;
一个用于将视频数据转换为模拟视频信号的数模转换器;
和一个用于将同步信号和模拟视频信号传输至一个模拟型显示器的输出端子,其中所述平板显示器包括接收器,同步信号发生器和输出端子。
