优选地，增强元件是整合到聚合物层中的网状物或整合到聚合物层中的纤维阵列。优点在于，当聚合物层与织物或纤维网状物熔合时，两个熔合元件都像单件一样工作，增加了缝合的耐受性，并提高了在其它应用领域中的耐久性。
无论如何实施增强元件，聚合物层优选由硅树脂制成。硅树脂提供了适合纹身的光滑表面，其在清晰度、耐久性和艺术执行方面具有最佳的结果。
无论如何实施增强元件，聚合物层优选地具有大于1mm的厚度，甚至更优选具有大于3mm的厚度。
