Background
Paris polyphylla, also known as Typhonium giganteum, is a perennial herb. The rhizomes are thick, the height of the rhizomes is 20-2500px, the rhizomes are hairless and are purple red, and 1-3 membranous leaf sheaths at the base part hold the rhizomes. 5 to 11 leaves, green, growing in a wheel, 7 to 425px long, 2.2 to 150px wide, oval-shaped or needle-shaped, sharp or tapered at the tip, wedge-shaped or round at the base, all-round, and often with a pair of obvious base pulse-out, the leaf stalk is 0 to 50px long. The flower tops grow in the center of the impeller, the flower tops are amphoteric, the flower stalks are elongated, the flower comforter is divided into two wheels, the outer comforter piece is 4-6, green, oval or needle-shaped, the number of the inner flower comforter piece and the outer flower comforter piece is the same, the inner flower comforter piece and the outer flower comforter piece are linear or filiform, yellow green, and the upper part of the inner flower comforter piece is usually expanded into a narrow spoon shape. 2-4 turns of stamens, 8-12 stamens, anthers with length of 5-10 mm, obvious drug separation and length of 1-2 mm. Ovary is nearly spherical, green, with edges or wings, 1 chamber. The flower pillar is purple, thickened and is in a shape of a constant angle disk. The flower column is purple, the flower is upright when flowering, and the flower rolls outside the fruit period. The fruits are nearly spherical, green and irregularly cracked. Most seeds are egg-shaped and have bright red exodermis. The flowering period is 4-7 months, and the fruit is cracked in 10-11 months.
Rhizoma paridis is a perennial herb of the family of trilobanchaceae, named as typhonium giganteum, is a rare and rare medicinal material in Yunnan province, can be directly used as a medicine, and is also a main raw material of famous Chinese patent medicines such as Yunnan Gongxuening, Yunnan Baiyao, pyretic toxicity clearing and the like.
