Abstract

本发明涉及一消费者或专业性的设备,一种所谓的“多媒体播放机(CDMM)”,其应用和多媒体文件的分配方法。本发明特征在于所述的数字信号形式的多媒体文件通过多条子频道(SC1、SC2……SCn)被送至一多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC),所述子频道是时分多路转换的,一控制信号被加入,且该信号在播放侧被调制为一传输信号(TR),在接收侧,该传输信号(TR)被象普通电视信号一样被处理至一调谐器的输出。

Description

多媒体分配和多媒体播放机
本发明涉及以多媒体分配的方式通过一电视频道进行的多个不同信息的同时传输以及多媒体文件的记录与再现。
所谓的多媒体文件是由以下部分组成的电子文件:-文本-静止画面-图形-数字音响-数字视频-上述各种数据的任何组合
使用画中画电视接收机和图文电视来提供不同信息是目前公知的。但是可通过普通电视频道传输的不同信息的数目是受到电视信号带宽所限制的。
基于数字压缩技术的,通过直接广播卫星系统(DBS)的数字电视信号传输也在开发中。这样的系统能够传输数字化压缩的视频与音频信号及通过卫星传输方式可选择地传输相关联的控制/条件访问数据。此种方式提供了节点数据速率在20兆位/秒至30兆位秒之间下的大量传输频道。其中使用了MPEG I算法(运动图象专家组)来压缩视频和音频数据。
因此,本发明的任务就是建立一套系统而以较低的花费完成多个多媒体文件的分配、记录及重现。
权利要求1和7中描述了对上述问题的解决。从属权利要求中给出了细节描述。
本发明基于这样的想法,即使用一个电视频道或其带宽的一部分来同时分配多个多媒体文件,其中为了记录和重现的目的采用了带有附加功能的已知设备。
其方法是将多个多媒体文件读入一数字存储设备,如光盘(CD)或一数字视频带。这些数字存储设备作为发送方的数字信号源。该数字信号通过多条子频道被送进多路复用器。
子频道的数目及由此而同时分配的多个多媒体文件数目受到以下因素的限制:-有效传输频道的数目-每个频道的带宽-以及每个子频道的位速率
例如,下列一个频道的分配方案是可能的:(假设频道容量为23.6兆位/秒)。
例1:单光盘速率在1.4兆位/秒左右的16个子频道;
例2:3条6.8兆位/秒的电视节目子频道,加上两条单光盘数据速率的子频道;
例3:2条8兆位/秒的电视节目子频道,加上2条各具有双倍光盘数据速率的子频道,及1条具有单一光盘数据速率的子频道。
为了传输包含有不同多媒体文件的多条子频道,这些子频道在其传输频道内是时分多路转换的。
这有以下好处:-有可能在整个频道容量上灵活使用;-另一方面,频道中未用的其余带宽能够用以传输多媒体文件。
按照本发明,在广播室一侧提供了多条具有从几千位每秒到最高达整个频道容量的平均位速率的子频道,通至一多路复用器。在该多路复用器中,子频道是时分多路转换的,并且加上了一个控制信息。此后,该数据优选地经过一频道编码以保证无错传输。在发送端的最后步骤是调制成一模拟信号并通过不同的介质,如卫星,电缆网络或地面设施等予以发射。
在接收端,信号通过卫星、电缆或地面设施被接收后经过解调、检错、隐蔽和多路分配器。解调器只同时处理多条频道中的一条。多路分配器的任务是将一条传输频道中的不同子频道分开,并从数据流中将控制信息提取出来。
作为存储设备可能的有两类:a)一台记录一条频道整个数据流的设备-这是一台数字VCR。根据用户的选择,通过使用包含在数据位流中的控制信息,在重现期间对不同子频道的选择得以完成。b)一台仅选择且记录一条传输频道中的n条子频道中的一条子频道的设备-这是一台基于盘的设备。称为光盘多媒体播放器。
通过监视由传输所提供的控制信息,传输频道解码器使得光盘多媒体播放器根据用户的编程来记录分配的文件。
该传输频道解码器可以被安置在一外部盒体内或可成为该光盘多媒体播放器的一个集成的部分。
分配过程可以在夜间当有空闲的电视传输频道时进行,或通过各频道在所有时间来分别进行。
该光盘多媒体播放器是公知的CD-I-播放器中的高级类型(superset),具有多项附加功能。此附加功能指可以使用只读光盘(CD-read-only)和可写入光盘(CD-writeable),如磁光盘(Magneto-Optical-Disc)。进一步附加功能还包括具有一远程频道界面使得可以进行磁光盘上的多媒体文件的远程存储。
光盘多媒体播放机可选择地配备一灵巧的卡阅读器用以许可或禁止对不同子频道中的数据的访问。
进一步的选择是用于连接至一计算机系统的计算机界面。
有两组应用来使用一光盘多媒体播放机。
第一组应用涉及一第一子组,与CD-I应用相同:CD-数字音频(Digital Auido),CD-交互(Interactive),CD-图片(Photo)和CD-ROM;还涉及一第二子组,应用了磁光盘可记录的特性:可擦除CD及与CD相同,但可擦除又可记录的格式,和计算机使用的CD:对个人或家庭计算机,普通意义上的高容量存储介质。
第二组应用可被称作电子出版应用。例如电子报纸和电子刊物,包含产品信息及静态图片或甚至视频序列的目录,相应课程的教育软件,销售点和信息点站的远程下载及更新,以及数据库的远程下载及更新。这些仍基于磁光盘的可记录特性并使用了按照上述方法的多媒体文件的大量分配。
该光盘多媒体播放机将用于以下优选的环境中:
CDMM、电视及立体声装置,或
CDMM及个人或家庭计算机。
与CD-I-only播放机的花费大致相同,CD-多媒体播放机与已知的CD-交互(Interactive)相比具有更多的应用,并且成为专业及消费者共同应用的多媒体平台。
本发明的详细情况将通过对非限定性的优选实施例的描述及附图说明而更加清楚。

在该多媒体系统中,例如它可以同时传输3份报纸,2场音乐会(纯音频)及2场电影这么多的内容。因此在播放台就需要有这些以数字格式存储的文件。例如,报纸存放在计算机硬盘里,音乐会存放在数字音频带上,电影存放在数字视频带上。
由图1,在播出台一侧提供了多个具有单倍或双倍CD数据速率的子频道SC1、SC2......SCn,并被送至多路复用器/编码器MUXCC。CD数据速率优选地但不局限于1.41兆位/秒。CD数据速率频道的总数是根据传输频道的带宽而选定的。在多路复用器/编码器MUXCC中子频道SC1、SC2......SCn是时分多路转换的,且被加上了控制信息。总的来说,控制频道的命令和数据包含一个文件标识,用来提示将有一段程序在y秒后开始,以及所预告的程序的开始,程序的结束与加密。当然对控制数据的这些描述是不完全的,但已列出控制频道的基本特点。此后该数据经过进一步纠错修正FEC以确保无错传输。在发送一侧的最终步骤是通过调制器MO来调制成模拟信号并通过不同的介质如卫星S、电缆网络C或地面设施T来完成各种传输TR的发射。
在接收一侧信号被接收后送至传输频道解码器TCD。
在TCD中该信号被解调、数字化及多路分配。也可能进行检错和隐蔽。控制信息从位流中被抽取出来。通过监视由传输TR提供的控制信息,传输频道解码器TCD使得光盘多媒体播放机CDMM根据用户的程序来记录分配的文件。由于光盘多媒体播放机CDMM是处于备用(stand-by)模式,因此有必要将其唤醒。这是当一个与用户编程相匹配的程序标识X被发现后由传输频道解码器TCD来完成的。数字y也考虑了象投币式自动电唱机样式的多盘播放机的使用。在控制数据中也提供了通过在播放台一侧对数据加密及在接收侧通过一个密匙进行解密来识别一访问准许系统的方法。
传输频道解码器TCD可设置在一外置盒体内或可以作为光盘多媒体播放机(CDMM)的一个集成的部分。
分配可以在夜间有空闲电视传输频道时进行或在所有时间内在各频道分别进行。
光盘多媒体播放机CDMM如图3所示是具有附加功能的公知的CD-I-播放机的高级类型。该附加功能指能够使用只读光盘和可写入光盘,如磁光盘MOD。进一步的附加功能还有远程频道界面RCI,它能提供对多媒体文件在磁光盘上远程存储的可能性。

Claims (10)

1、一种多媒体文件分配方法,其特征在于,所述多媒体文件以数字信号的格式通过多条子频道(SC1、SC2......SCn)被送至一多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC),所述子频道为时分多路转换的,一控制信号被加上且该控制信号在播出台一侧被调制成一传输信号TR,在接收一侧该传输信号TR象普通电视信号一样被处理到一调谐器的输出,
所述信号经解调、数字化、多路分配,而且控制信号的控制信息被从位流中抽取出来从而通过监视由传输所提供的控制信息信号,一传输频道解码器(TCD)使得一多媒体播放机(CDMM)按照用户的编程来记录一分配的文件,或
所述信号被一多媒体播放机(CDMM)直接存储,且所述存储的信号是经解调、数字化和多路分配的,同时该控制信号的控制信息被从位流中抽取出来从而通过监视由传输提供的控制信息信号,一传输频道解码器(TCD)使得一再现设备按照用户的编程来再现一分配的文件。
2、如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述具有单倍CD数据速率的多条子频道(SC1、SC2......SCn)被送至一多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC)。
3、如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述按多媒体分配的要求而具有单倍CD数据速率的多条子频道(SC1、SC2......SCn)被送至一多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC)。
4、如权利要求1至3所述的方法,其特征在于,所述多媒体播放机(CDMM)作为一CD-I-播放机被使用,且使用了磁光盘(MOD)的可记录的特性。
5、如权利要求1至3所述的方法,其特征在于,所述多媒体播放机(CDMM)被用于电子出版应用。
6、如权利要求1至5所述的方法,其特征在于所述多媒体播放机(CDMM)用于一含有电视和无线电装置的环境或一含有个人或家庭计算机的环境。
7、如权利要求1至6所述的方法,其特征在于所述的实施方法中在播出台一侧包含了一多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC),其中含有代表了多媒体文件的数字信号的子频道(SC1、SC2......SCn)被时分多路转换,且一控制信息被加上,所述多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC)与一调制器(MD)相连,以将多路复用器/编码器(MUXCC)的信号调制成一传输信号(TR);所述方法实施在接收一侧包含一连接至一传输频道解码器(TCD)用以解调、数字化、多路分配及从位流中抽取控制信息的调谐器(TU),所述传输频道解码器(TCD)耦合至一个多媒体播放机以根据用户的编程来记录和再现分配文件。
8、如权利要求7所述方法,其特征在于,所述多媒体播放机(CDMM)包含一能使用只读光盘(CD-read-only)和可写入光盘(CD-writeable)的CD-I-播放机,并且还包含一远程频道界面(RCI),它使得可以对多媒体文件进行远程存储。
