背景技术
可降解材料在我们的社会中具有多种用途,从制作可降解塑料袋、尿布和水瓶,到制作用于药物递送的可降解赋形剂和外科手术用的可降解植入物,再到多种多样的工业用途,例如土壤治理、农业和油气开采中的工业用途。
例如,可降解材料已经被用于滤失控制,用于分流,和作为油气开采井下应用中的临时塞施用。已在井下使用的可降解材料的例子包括岩盐、苯甲酸片、蜡球、蜡按钮(waxbutton)、油溶性树脂材料等。除填充和封堵刚好位于储层中的裂缝及渗透区域外,可降解材料还已经被用于形成井眼中的固结塞,所述固结塞在使用后将会降解,从而消除了回收的需要。
一直需要有可以用于这类应用中的新材料,特别是尤其需要能够在井下条件下迅速降解的材料。
发明内容

可降解聚合物的例子包括:脂肪族聚酯、聚乳酸(PLA)、聚(ε-己内酯)、聚乙醇酸、聚(乳酸-共-乙醇酸)、聚羟基酯醚、聚羟基烷酸酯(PHA)、聚羟基丁酸酯、聚酐、聚碳酸酯、聚氨基酸、聚氧化乙烯、聚磷腈、聚醚酯、聚酰胺酯、聚酰胺、磺化聚酯、聚己二酸亚乙基酯、聚羟基烷酸酯、聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯、聚对苯二甲酸丙二醇酯、聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯,和上述可降解聚合物的任意共聚物、共混物(blend)、衍生物或组合。PLA是一种特别可以使用的聚合物,因为它无毒且其分解产物同样也无毒。而且,其易于以各种分子量和结晶度获得,并且易于制造。
水溶性填充剂的例子包括:NaCl、ZnCl2、CaCl2、MgCl2、NaCO3、KCO3、 KH2PO4、K2HPO4、K3PO4;磺酸盐,例如苯磺酸钠(NaBS)、十二烷基苯磺酸钠(NaDBS);水溶性/亲水性聚合物,例如聚乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物 (EVOH)、改性EVOH、SAP(超吸水性聚合物)、聚丙烯酰胺或聚丙烯酸和聚乙烯醇(PVOH);以及这些填充剂的混合物。
在使用条件下熔融的填充剂的例子包括蜡,例如小烛树蜡、巴西棕榈蜡、石蜡(ceresin wax)、日本蜡、微晶蜡、褐煤蜡、小冠椰子蜡(ouricury wax)、天然地蜡(ozocerite)、固体石蜡(paraffin wax)、米糠蜡、甘蔗蜡、 Paricin 220、Petrac蜡165、Petrac 215、Petrac GMS单硬脂酸甘油酯、硅蜡 (Silicon wax)、费-托蜡(Fischer-Tropsch wax)、Ross蜡140或Ross蜡160。
能加速降解的反应性填充剂的例子包括:金属氧化物、金属氢氧化物和金属碳酸盐,例如Ca(OH)2、Mg(OH)2、CaCO3、硼砂、MgO、CaO、ZnO、 NiO、CuO、Al2O3、碱或碱前体。
所述可降解复合材料还可以包含长链(在此定义为≥C8)脂肪酸的金属盐,例如Zn、Sn、Ca、Li、Sr、Co、Ni、K各自的辛酸盐、硬脂酸盐、棕榈油酸盐(palmate)、肉豆蔻酸盐等。
在其它的实施方案中,所述可降解复合组合物包含与以下物质之一的离散颗粒混合的可降解PLA:i)水溶性材料、ii)蜡填充剂、iii)反应性填充剂或iv)上述物质的任意组合,其中所述可降解复合材料在60℃水中在在少于30、14或7天内降解。
其它的实施方案包括组合物,其中所述组合物包含:
具有多个孔的基质,所述基质包括PLA或任何其它可降解聚合物;和
填充剂,其填充入所述基质的多个孔中的至少一部分;
其中所述填充剂是本文描述的任何填充剂,或以其它方式用于加速降解,以使得所述组合物在等于或低于60℃的温度下水中在少于或等于4、2 或1周内降解。
其它的实施方案提供了表3-12中的可降解复合组合物。
描述了使用可降解复合材料的方法,例如将包含水和本文描述的任何组合物的流体注入到地下储层中,降解所述组合物,并从所述地下储层中生产油气。其它的使用方法包括生产可降解消费品,例如塑料袋、尿布、水瓶;医疗保健中的使用,例如制作用于药物递送赋形剂或可降解植入物、或绷带和缝线;以及农业、治理、废物处理或其它的工业使用。
“可降解聚合物”的意思是,可以在60℃下在水中在30天或更短的时间内——优选14或7天或更短的时间内——降解的聚合物。
“降解”的意思是,至少50%的干重减少,或者如果通过流通量 (flowthrough)来评估时,至少50%的流量增加。
“水溶性”的意思是,在7天或更短的时间内——优选在2天或1天或更短的时间内——溶解于水中的材料。水溶性材料包括吸湿性材料和亲水性材料。
“反应性填充剂”的意思是,与不含所述反应性填充剂的所述可降解聚合物相比,能够加速相同的聚合物降解的材料。
“可熔性材料”的意思是,在预期的使用条件下能够熔融的任何材料。例如,当在储层中使用所述组合物时蜡将熔融。

具体实施方式
首先,应该注意,在开发任何这种实际实施方案时,必须做出多种实施—特定决策来达到开发者的特定目的,例如遵从与系统相关的约束和与商业相关的约束,所述约束将随着不同的实施而变化。而且,应理解,这种开发努力可能是复杂且耗时的,但仍然是受益于本公开内容的本领域普通技术人员的常规工作。另外,本文所用/所公开的组合物也可包含除所引述的那些组分之外的一些组分。
而且,在发明内容和本具体实施方式中,应该了解,列出或描述为可用的、合适的等的浓度范围,意指在该范围内的任何和每种浓度(包括端点)应被认为已经陈述。例如,“从1至10的范围”应理解为表示在约1 和约10之间连续的每个和各个可能的数字。因此,即使该范围内的具体数据点或甚至该范围内没有数据点被明确确定或仅指代少量具体点,也应理解为该范围内的任何和所有数据点均被认为已进行明确说明。
总体上,本申请涉及在超低温(≤60℃)下能实现加速降解的复合材料,以及它们在地下岩层中的用途,尽管本文中所述的材料具有多种用途。
所公开的实施方案涉及含有一种或多种聚合物和一种或多种填充剂的复合组合物,其中所述组合物在低温(例如低于60℃、<50℃或<40℃) 下于水中快速降解。在一些实施方案中,所述材料包含作为聚合物基质的可降解聚合物,以及作为所述聚合物基质中填充剂的颗粒物。在一些情况下,所述低温可降解材料可以在低温环境下一周内实现约100%的降解。长链脂肪酸的金属盐或酯可以被用于进一步加速所述降解。
所述低温可降解材料可以采取纤维、棒状、薄片、薄膜和颗粒等形式,并且可应用于油田服务应用,以在钻井、固井和完井等中稳定支撑剂充填层,改善裂缝几何形状(facture geometry),产生液流转向,改善出砂管理 (sand management),减轻循环液漏失等。然而,这样的可降解材料可以用于多种行业中,包括例如消费品、废物管理产品、医疗保健、农业、治理等。
在一些实施方案中,与相当的基质聚合物相比,以占原始重量的重量损失%量度,本申请的可降解的经颗粒填充的复合组合物(“可降解复合材料”)能够在≤60℃下于水中在少于30天内——优选少于2周或甚至1周内——实现加速降解。在一些情形下,所述复合材料在7天内T≤50℃或T ≤40℃下于水中实现了100%的降解(重量损失%)。
本文中所述的“可降解聚合物”是指在含水环境中能够被降解(分解成低聚物或单体)的聚合物。聚合物在水中的降解可通过在一段时间内固体聚合物的重量损失测量。所述聚合物的分子量的减小(通过凝胶渗透色谱法、特性粘度或用以表征聚合物分子量的其它公知方法来测量)也可以被用于量度降解。
适合于研发可降解复合材料的可降解聚合物包括,但不限于,脂肪族聚酯、聚乳酸、聚(ε-己内酯)、聚乙醇酸(PGA)、聚(乳酸-共-乙醇酸) (PLGA)、聚羟基酯醚、聚羟基烷酸酯(PHA)、聚羟基丁酸酯、聚酐、聚碳酸酯、聚氨基酸、聚氧化乙烯、聚磷腈、聚醚酯、聚酰胺酯、聚酰胺、磺化聚酯、聚己二酸亚乙基酯(PEA)、聚羟基烷酸酯(PHA)、聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯(PBT)、聚对苯二甲酸丙二醇酯(PTT)、聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯(PEN),和上述可降解聚合物的任意共聚物、混合物、衍生物或组合。
一种特别可以使用的聚合物是聚乳酸(PLA),因为其易于获取并且无毒。聚乳酸可以或通过乳酸的直接缩合或通过环状丙交酯的催化开环聚合来制造,并且PLA还易于商业获取。乳酸在商业上通常通过细菌发酵而制造,是手性分子,并且具有两个光活性异构体:D异构体和L异构体。PLA 中D异构体的含量决定了PLA聚合物的结晶度。完全非晶态PLA包含相对高的D含量(>20%),而高结晶PLA包含小于2%的D异构体。非晶态 PLA树脂的例子包括来自萘琪沃克(NatureWorks)的6060D、6302D或者 4060D树脂,结晶PLA树脂的例子包括来自萘琪沃克公司的6201D或者 6202D树脂。所述可降解复合材料中的基质聚合物可以仅包含非晶态PLA,仅包含结晶PLA,或者包含非晶态PLA与结晶PLA的混合物。PLA聚合物混合物可以是非晶态PLA与结晶PLA聚合物的简单机械混合物。
可以选择至少三种类型的填充剂用来形成PLA/填充剂复合材料,其中每一种填充剂均用于加速降解。第一种类型的填充剂可以是吸湿性的、亲水性的或水溶性固体。这些填充剂不仅产生了填充剂之间的界面表面积来加速渗水,还由于存在渗透压力而驱使水进入可降解聚合物/填充剂复合材料。
向可降解复合材料中快速渗水在较低温度下是特别重要的,因为在较低温度下水渗透是很慢的。吸湿性或水溶性固体的例子包括,但不限于,糖、食盐(NaCl)、ZnCl2、CaCl2、MgCl2、NaCO3、KCO3、钾磷酸盐(KH2PO4、 K2HPO4、K3PO4);磺酸盐,例如苯磺酸钠(NaBS)、十二烷基苯磺酸钠(NaDBS);水溶性/亲水性聚合物,例如聚乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)、改性EVOH、SAP(超吸水性聚合物)、聚丙烯酰胺或聚丙烯酸和聚乙烯醇(PVOH);以及这些填充剂的混合物。在一些实施方案中,NaCl、NaCO3、NaBS、NaDBS、 EVOH或其组合被用作所述填充剂。
第二种类型的填充剂是具有确定熔点的相变填充剂(例如可熔性填充剂)。相变填充剂有例如(但不限于)蜡,其中在蜡熔融后,其增加在聚合物中的自由体积,因而提高孔隙率,从而增加水渗透进入聚合物中的量。大多数蜡是疏水性结晶固体。PLA与蜡的共混物可以使PLA在所述蜡的熔点以下更加疏水(这将对PLA/蜡复合材料的储存期限有益)。
对蜡的选择很大程度上取决于蜡的熔点以及井中的降解温度。例如,选择固体石蜡来与PLA共混以用于温度>55℃的应用。表1列出了一些可以与PLA或其它可降解聚合物或聚酯共混的蜡。

第三种类型的填充剂是反应性填充剂,包括碱或碱前体,其当与水接触时产生氢氧根离子或其它强亲核物质。所述反应性填充剂通过亲核物质的催化作用可以既改善水渗透进入所述复合材料中的速率又改善酯水解的速率。
所述反应性填充剂的例子包括,但不限于,Ca(OH)2、Mg(OH)2、CaCO3、硼砂、MgO、CaO、ZnO、NiO、CuO、Al2O3和其它的碱或与水接触时可以转化成碱的化合物。
所述填充剂的粒径可以在10纳米至几百纳米或者甚至1-5微米之间,例如50-300纳米。相比于具有较小总表面积的较大填充剂,具有较大总表面积的较小填充剂可以导致在给定温度下的较快速降解。以占总复合材料的重量百分比计,所述填充剂的填充量(loading)可以在0.5%-70%的范围内,这取决于填充剂的选择和其分子量,以及最终材料的期望特性。
每一个填充剂均可以单独使用,或与其它填充剂和添加剂组合使用。在一些实施方案中,本申请的可降解材料包括ZnO与少量的其它填充剂——例如MgO、盐、蜡、亲水性聚合物(例如EVOH或PVOH)或其混合物——的组合。
在一些实施方案中,当加入少量(<1.5%)的长链脂肪酸(≥C8)的金属盐或长链脂肪酸的酯时,所述经颗粒填充的PLA复合材料(颗粒或纤维)的降解可以被进一步加速。这些两亲性添加剂具有亲水性的“头”和疏水性的长链“尾”,并易于粘附于颗粒表面上。这些两亲性添加剂的作用是改善聚合物基质中的颗粒分散,并促进水渗透进入复合材料中。以占复合材料的重量百分比计,所述长链脂肪酸的金属盐或酯的填充量可以在 1-5%或0.2-2%的范围内。
在一些实施方案中,所述可降解的PLA/填充剂复合材料中还可以包含增塑剂以用于进行平滑处理,并且所述增塑剂甚至还可以增强复合材料的降解。在复合或挤出过程中,可以将所述增塑剂与所述可降解聚合物和填充剂以机械方式混合。此处可以使用通常被用于塑料加工的增塑剂。为研发所述复合材料而对增塑剂进行的选择取决于对所述可降解聚合物、加工方法、加工温度和可降解复合材料的期望特性的选择。
也可以加入其它少量的添加剂或聚合物,例如通常用于塑料加工行业中的增容剂、阻燃剂、抗菌剂、颜料、着色剂、润滑剂、UV稳定剂、热稳定剂、分散剂、成核剂等。这些添加剂包括,但不限于,有机羧酸、羧酸酯、有机羧酸的金属盐、多羧酸、脂肪酸酯、脂肪酸醚、脂肪酸酰胺、磺酰胺类、聚硅氧烷、有机磷化合物、Al(OH)3、季铵化合物、银基无机处理剂、炭黑、金属氧化物颜料、染料、硅烷、钛酸盐和钛酸酯等。
在一些实施方案中,可以使用在反应性填充剂表面上的涂层或保护层来控制或调整降解曲线,或在加工期间保护所述填充剂。填充剂上的聚合物保护层、单分子层(monolayer)和涂层可以是疏水性单体或聚合物的薄层,其保护所述反应性填充剂的活性表面。所述保护层可以降低常规加工步骤中的热降解,所述加工步骤例如复合、挤压和熔融纺丝。用以形成所述保护层的材料可以选自硅烷类、长链醇、聚乙二醇-聚环氧丙烷-聚乙二醇的嵌段共聚物(PEG-PPO-PEG,称为普朗尼克(Pluronics))或马来酸酯改性的EVA树脂,但不限于这些例子。
在一些实施方案中,这些分子具有可以与填充剂表面相互作用的官能团,以及用以与聚合物基质很好地混合的疏水性组分。所述保护涂层可以通过预涂或原位粘附被施用于填充剂表面。可将所选择的硅烷和长链醇预涂于填充剂表面。可以将普朗尼克或马来酸酯改性的EVA树脂、硅烷和长链醇与所述填充剂和PLA树脂复合,以实现所述聚合物的官能团与填充剂的原位粘附。所述涂层占总填充剂的重量百分比在1-4%之间。当将所述可降解复合材料浸入水中时,所述水将会花一定时间来溶胀和渗透涂层,然后与填充剂相互作用以产生与聚合物基质反应的亲核物质。在一些情形下,所述降解可以延缓几个小时至几天,然后在由填充剂的填充量决定的时间范围内完成降解。降解时间的确切延缓可以通过对涂层材料的选择以及通过涂层的厚度来控制。图1进一步图示了这一方面。
PLA复合材料可以使用聚乳酸与填充剂的复合、挤出、溶液聚合来制作。本体PLA复合材料可以使用经填充的PLA的注射成型、压塑成型、熔融纺丝(对于纤维而言)或压型焦工艺(briquetting process)制作。在一个实施方案中,可以使用ThermoHaake公司的MiniLab微型混合器用作实验室规模的混合器,其可以熔化并挤出5g/批的聚合物复合材料棒,然后可将所述棒切成6mm长的颗粒用于进一步降解评价。使用熔融纺丝工艺来研发含填充剂的复合PLA纤维。挤出成型以及纤维熔融纺丝的详细的工艺条件在下文列出。
可降解复合材料的挤出
可将粒状的PLA聚合物树脂在低温条件下研磨成粉,并在烘箱中干燥过夜,其中对于非晶态PLA而言在49℃下干燥,对于结晶PLA而言在80℃下干燥。可将特定量的聚合物粉末与填充剂在小玻璃瓶中预混合,可将所述小瓶翻转约10次以确保充分混合不均匀的固体粉末。可以使用Thermo Haake公司的MiniLab微型混合器挤出PLA粉末与填充剂的混合物。挤出 /复合温度可以被设在150-170℃的范围内,这取决于PLA树脂的选择。
挤出条件的例子被列于表2中。每一个挤出批次的最大扭矩可以被维持在360Ncm以下,并且在冲出(flush)前,材料可以在腔内循环3-4分钟。当扭矩下降至约40Ncm时,可以停止冲出。挤出的复合材料的直径可以在 1mm左右。
可降解复合材料的熔融纺丝条件
PLA纤丝的熔融纺丝可以例如用Hills Research Line实施。Hills ResearchLine是一种配备有单螺杆挤出机的同一组分(homo-component) 纤维纺丝生产线。所述纺丝工艺条件可以基于对聚合物、填充剂的选择以及期望的纤维尺寸和形态来确定。纺丝条件的例子在下面列出:
·可将控制纺丝速度的进料辊速度和拉伸辊速度控制在500-3000m/m 的范围内。
·产出量可以在0.15至0.9(ghm:克/孔/分钟)的范围内。
·拉伸比可以在1至4的范围内,这取决于拉伸辊速率与进料辊速率的比。
·挤出机及纺丝温度的设定可以在180-235℃的范围内。
当对具有填充剂的PLA纤维(复合纤维)进行纺丝时,可以将添加剂作为在PLA中含10%的填充剂的母料加入。

将1gA-1524加入40ml异丙醇(IPA)中,并将0.24g水加入所述溶液中。将所述溶液在室温下搅拌3小时。将10g无水MgO 170s (Elastmag 170special)加入硅烷/IPA溶液中,并且将所述溶液再搅拌1小时。将涂覆有硅烷的MgO过滤,用IPA冲洗,并在100℃下于真空烘箱中干燥过夜。
按照上文所述的相同的挤出工艺制造含有PLA和涂覆有硅烷的MgO 的复合材料。
将所述PLA复合材料纤维或棒(通过挤出制造的)切成6mm长。将固定量的复合材料颗粒或纤维浸入100ml的DI水中。将瓶子保持在规定的温度下,降解持续2、4、7、14或21天。降解后,将残余物过滤并用DI 水洗涤3次,然后在49℃下于烘箱中干燥。计算占总原始重量的百分比形式的重量损失并将其用作降解程度。
使用JEOL JEM-2010F场致发射透射电子显微镜获得PLA/填充剂复合材料的TEM图像。
PLA/Na2CO3复合材料
表3示出了6060D PLA/Na2CO3复合材料的组成和Tg。为了进行对比,挤出纯6060DPLA树脂并将其用作对照(0phr样本),其中phr是指每一百份树脂中的份数。
PLA/Na2CO3复合材料的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)比纯PLA的玻璃化转变温度总是低约5℃,这表明PLA在挤出期间发生了一些降解。将所述PLA/ Na2CO3复合材料棒切成长6mm且直径为1mm的颗粒,并将其暴露于49 和60℃水中7天。图2示出了降解结果。
在49℃下,纯PLA具有最小的降解率(2%)。相比而言,所述PLA/ Na2CO3复合材料样本降解得更明显。重量损失是由于Na2CO3溶解和PLA 降解的共同作用。溶解的Na2CO3%(表3中TGA测量的原始样本与降解后样本的Na2CO3%之差)与纯PLA重量损失%的组合值比实际降解结果要小,对于20和30phr样本尤其如此。这表明Na2CO3的添加增加了所述复合材料中PLA的降解。
在60℃下,与PLA对照样本相比,所述复合材料表现出了明显更多的重量损失%。总重量损失%超过了原始复合材料中的Na2CO3%填充量与纯 PLA重量损失%的组合,这清楚地表明与纯PLA聚合物相比,在复合材料中的聚合物降解更多。
PLA/NaCl复合材料
表4示出了6060D PLA/NaCl复合材料的组成和Tg。为了进行对比,纯挤出6060DPLA树脂并将其用作对照(0phr样本)。PLA/NaCl复合材料的 Tg值与纯PLA的Tg值相同或比其略高,这表明当挤出时有最少量的降解。将所述PLA/NaCl复合材料棒切成长6mm且直径为1mm的颗粒,并将其暴露于49和60℃水中7或14天。降解结果示于图3中。
PLA/磺酸盐复合材料
磺酸盐,例如苯磺酸钠(NaBS)和十二烷基苯磺酸钠(NaDBS),是与聚酯良好共混的水溶性的热稳定的盐。在非晶态PLA 6060D树脂中的2%或8%的NaBS或NaDBS在160℃下的挤出是平滑的。表5示出了可降解 PLA/磺酸盐复合材料的组成及使用DSC测量的其Tg。经盐填充的复合材料的Tg与聚合物基质的Tg相同,这一事实表明在复合过程中发生最少量的聚合物热降解。
与纯PLA 6060D聚合物相比,6060D/磺酸盐复合材料表现出了更多的总重量损失%,特别是在60℃水中降解14天后(图4)。
PLA/蜡复合材料
表6示出了使用Haake MiniLab双螺杆挤出机制造的PLA/蜡颗粒的组成。将所产生的聚合物棒切成长6mm左右,并热压形成约0.3mm厚的薄膜以用于进一步表征。
6060D/蜡的DSC曲线示出了比纯6060D聚合物的Tg稍低的单一玻璃化转变温度(表6),这可能是由于蜡的增塑作用。6201D/1%蜡示出了蜡的熔点为54.76℃,而纯6201D的Tg是61.31℃。6201D/蜡共混物中的结晶度%比纯6201D的热压聚合物薄膜的高很多。
热压薄膜的吸水率可以通过下式表征:吸水%=(Ww-Wd)*100%/Wd,其中Ww是聚合物薄膜在置于规定温度下于水中规定量的时间并然后拭去表面水之后的重量。Wd是薄膜在真空下于室温下干燥过夜后的重量。
图5示出了薄膜分别在水中室温、60℃下1天和3天的吸水%。 6060D/1%蜡薄膜比6060D薄膜在室温下吸收较少的水,但在60℃下吸收较多的水。
在60℃下于水中14天,6060D/蜡颗粒与6060D树脂在相同条件下相比表现出较高的重量损失%(多15%的重量损失%)(图6)。较高的重量损失与6060D/蜡颗粒中较高的蜡填充量相关。对于半结晶6201D PLA/蜡颗粒而言,在60℃的重量损失%不可测量,因为半结晶PLA的降解动力学太慢以致于无法产生可测量的重量损失,尽管在本文中报告过所述聚合物的分子量减小。在82℃,半结晶PLA/蜡(6201D/蜡)颗粒与纯6201D树脂在 82℃的降解相比表现出了稍高程度的重量损失%(图6)。
PLA/EVOH共混物
聚乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)聚合物是一类亲水特征可以通过复合被调节的半结晶无规共聚物。具有高乙烯醇含量(>71摩尔%)的EVOH 具有较高的吸湿性,并且可以在某些条件下生物降解。选择两类标准级EVOH树脂来分别与非晶态PLA(6060D)及结晶PLA(6201D) 复合。D2908含有29摩尔%的乙烯,具有188℃的熔点,并且A4412含有 44%的乙烯,具有164℃的熔点。EVOH(D2908或A4412)的填充量为PLA (6060D或6201D)与EVOH的总重量的10%。表7列出了所述聚合物共混物的组成以及挤出条件。
挤出是平滑的,所产生的聚合物共混物是白色不透明的棒。当将所述棒热压成0.33毫米厚的薄膜时,共混物薄膜是不透明的(表7),这与纯PLA (例如6060D)的透明薄膜不同。所述不透明性可以表明形成了分散于PLA 基质中的小的EVOH滴。DSC研究示出了6060D/A4412共混物的单一Tg是58.59℃,Tm是160.8℃,并且6060D/D2908共混物的Tg是58.98℃,Tm是181.30℃,如图7A和7B中所示。6060D/EVOH共混物仍然维持一些结晶度,而6060D与15%的6201D构成的PLA共混物似乎已经完全失去结晶相(图7C)。
如图8所示,当EVOH与半结晶PLA 6201D共混时,EVOH的结晶相被抑制。A4412的结晶熔融峰与6201D的结晶熔融峰重叠(图8)。
图9示出了6060D/A4412薄膜在水中分别在室温(RT)和60℃1天和 3天的吸水%。在RT下,PLA/A4412共混物与纯PLA树脂相比在1天和3 天后吸收更多的水,这可能是由于EVOH A4412的亲水性。在60℃下, PLA/A4412共混物与纯PLA相比仍然吸收更多的水,但与在RT下的差别相比这种差别小得多。
PLA/EVOH的降解实验在82℃下进行7天,以及在60℃下进行14天。在60℃下,重量损失遵循如下趋势:6060D/A4412>6060D>6060D/D2908 (图10)。在60℃下,与PLA/D2908相比,PLA/A4412具有更高的重量损失,这可能是由于A4412树脂的亲水性与结晶度的适当平衡。在82℃下,重量损失%遵循如下趋势:6060D>6060D/A4412>6060D/D2908(图10)。
PLA/TH300共混物
DuPont Biomax TH300是一种与聚合物和蜡共混的改性剂,其当用于2 步法热成型工艺生产薄膜时能获得更好的耐热性。表8示出了PLA/TH300 共混物的组成,及其挤出条件。挤出非常平滑,将所产生的棒热压以形成约0.3mm厚的薄膜以用于进一步表征。
将PLA 6060D/TH300纤维使用Hill的试验纺丝线(pilot spin line)进行熔融纺丝。用于纺丝6060D/TH300的喷丝头温度是210℃,绕丝速度是 500m/m。将所产生的纤丝切成长6mm的纤维,并在60℃下于水中进行降解。图11示出了6060D/TH300纤维及颗粒(长6mm,直径为1mm)在60℃下于水中14天后的重量损失%。含有2%TH300的纤维或颗粒,比纯6060D纤维或颗粒,降解得更快;并且加入更多的TH300不会使得降解更多。与具有相同组成的颗粒在相同的降解条件下相比,所述纤维表现出了总体上较少的重量损失%。
PLA/MgO复合材料
将6060D树脂与两种MgO——即Elastomag 170(MgO 170)和 Elastomag170special(MgO 170s)——复合。所述MgO 170由经部分水解以形成Mg(OH)2的老化样品组成。MgO 170的DSC曲线示出因为水镁石相中的羟基的损失吸热峰在约360℃,这表明MgO170含有经水解的MgO(图12A)。MgO 170s的DSC曲线(图12B)示出了几乎不含水镁石的MgO(即无水MgO)的典型扫描。
6060D PLA中的MgO的挤出在160℃下进行。在挤出过程中,一些聚合物从挤出机的间隙沥滤出来,并且一些批次的扭矩最高达360Ncm。将所述扭矩控制在120Ncm以下。所述复合材料出来后是固体棒状。表9示出了6060D/MgO复合材料颗粒的组成。通过DSC测量的PLA/MgO复合材料的Tg为约53℃,这暗示着存在一些程度的热分解,所述热分解导致与纯 PLA聚合物相比所述复合物材料具有稍低的Tg。
由于约22%的MgO填充量与复合材料中PLA重复单元的摩尔量相当,并且36%的MgO填充量超过了PLA重复单元的摩尔量,所以使用5%的 HCl溶液来洗涤降解残余物以溶解残余的Mg(OH)2并仅留下残余聚合物。图13分别示出了6060D/MgO 170和6060D/MgO 170S颗粒在49℃下的降解曲线。在49℃下,具有>26%MgO的所述颗粒能够在7天内实现100%的重量损失。图14示出了6060D/MgO 170颗粒在38℃下的降解曲线。在这两个温度下,在给定的降解温度和时间下,较高填充量的MgO导致较高的重量损失(图13和14)。
因为MgO对水解作用很敏感,所以使用硅烷涂层来保护MgO颗粒的表面,并且进一步研究涂层对6060D/MgO 170s的降解行为的影响。将 Silquest A-1524(3-脲基丙基三甲氧基硅烷)涂覆于MgO 170s的表面上。所述涂层使用FTIR(ATR吸收)和DSC进行表征。图15示出了MgO表面上的Silquest A-1524涂层的DSC曲线(15A)和IR光谱(15B)。
对经涂覆的MgO 170s的DSC研究(图15A)表明在(于异丙醇中的) 涂覆过程中没有发生明显的MgO水解。经涂覆的MgO的IR光谱显示,羰基吸收发生在约1650cm-1处(图15B),这源于3-脲基丙基三甲氧基硅烷 (A-1524)上的-N-CO-基。与6060D/MgO颗粒相比,含经涂覆的MgO的 6060D显示出了延缓的降解,这表明在本体开始降解前,硅烷涂层需要一定时间水解(图16)。
PLA/ZnO复合材料
使用两种ZnO作为PLA基质中的填充剂。一种是来自Fisher Scientific 的AcrosZno粉末,其平均粒径为250纳米(此处标记为mZnO);另一种是来自K Impex Corp.的ZnO纳米颗粒(标记为nZnO),其平均粒径为40 纳米。图17示出了PLA/9%ZnO复合材料的透射电子显微镜(TEM)图像。 Acros mZnO颗粒很好地分散于PLA(6060D)中,TEM图像确认了mZnO 颗粒的粒径在约100至500纳米范围(图17A)。PLA/nZnO(纳米ZnO, 40纳米)的TEM图像表明纳米ZnO颗粒在分散于PLA基质中后形成了一定程度的聚集(图17B)。nZnO的粒径在20-80纳米的范围内。PLA/ZnO 复合材料的玻璃化转变温度Tg在54-57℃的范围内(通过DSC测量),这表明在挤出/复合过程中几乎没有发生热降解。
表10示出了PLA/ZnO复合材料的组成,及在38、49和60℃下于水中 14天后的降解结果。填充剂的总表面积使用BET设备测量。所述设备确定了用以将样本表面使用分子层覆盖所需要的气体数量,并且使用 Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)理论计算出表面积。
如表10中所示,与纯PLA 6060D聚合物在相同降解条件下相比,所有的PLA/ZnO复合材料均具有明显更多的总重量损失%。在38和49℃下, PLA/nZnO复合材料比PLA/mZnO复合材料降解得更多(图18A),且所述降解与复合材料中的ZnO颗粒的总BET表面积线性相关(图18B),这表明了多相催化的特征。在60℃下,所述降解只与复合材料中ZnO的总填充量相关(图18B)。
PLA/ZnO/NaCl复合材料
向PLA/ZnO复合材料中引入少量的吸湿性盐可以加速水渗透进入复合材料中并进一步加速复合材料的降解。表11示出了PLA/ZnO/NaCl复合材料的组成。图19示出了所述复合材料在49和60℃下于水中7天后的总重量损失%。PLA/ZnO/10%NaCl的图表(图19B)清楚地示出了比 PLA/ZnO/2%NaCl的图表(图19A)多得多的重量损失%。
PLA/ZnO/MgO复合材料
PLA/ZnO/MgO复合材料颗粒的组成是PLA(6060D)/10% mZnO/0.6%MgO,或PLA(6060D)/10%mZnO/1.2%MgO(Elastermag 170)。使用JMP软件制订了一个三因素三水平实验设计(DOE,three factors,and three-levels of Design of Experiment)。所述DOE包括MgO%(0-1.2%)、降解时间(7-21天)和降解温度(38-60℃)作为所述因素,其中ZnO%固定为复合材料中的10%。图20示出了基于DOE的结果的降解温度、降解时间、复合材料中MgO%的填充量以及总重量损失%的等值图。
如图20A中T<55℃的等值曲线中所示,MgO的添加加速了低于55℃温度时的降解。当温度高于55℃时,降解14天后的重量损失%的等值线在整个MgO%的变化范围内非常平缓,这说明在此温度范围内MgO%与重量损失%之间缺少相关性。这种趋势在49℃下(图20B中弯曲的等值线)与60℃(图20C中平缓的等值线)下的降解时间、MgO%和重量损失%的等值线之间的差别中明显示出。
PLA/ZnO/ZnOCT复合材料
对两种PLA/ZnO/辛酸锌复合材料进行评价:一种是PLA(6060D) /10%ZnO/0.6%辛酸锌(ZnOct),另一种是PLA(6060D) /10%ZnO/1.2%ZnOct。使用JMP软件制订了一个三因素三水平实验(DOE)。所述DOE包括ZnOct%(0-1.2%)、降解时间(7-21天)和降解温度(38-60℃) 作为所述因素,其中ZnO%固定为复合材料中的10%。图21示出了在49℃下降解时间、ZnOct%和重量损失%的等值图;其示出了与较高填充量的 ZnOct%相比,要达到相同的重量损失%,其需要较少的降解时间。
PLA/ZnO和PLA/MgO复合纤维
表12示出了PLA/ZnO和PLA/MgO(170)纤维的组成,以及它们相应的纺丝条件、直径和拉伸强度。6060D纤维(未经填充的)以及PLA/MgO 和PLA/ZnO复合纤维的光学图像示于图22和23中。将所述ZnO颗粒良好分散,并且填充整个纤维,甚至达6%的填充量(图23C)。在PLA/MgO纤维纺丝期间的热降解引起纤维断裂并阻塞筛孔。MgO仅最多填充至纤维中的4%。
纯非晶态6060D纤维的直径在12-18微米的范围内(表12,#1-#17), PLA(6060D)/ZnO和PLA(6060D)/MgO复合纤维(纤维6060D-A系列和 6060D-B系列)的直径在20-37微米的范围内。纤维的直径由纺丝速度(m/m) 及产出量(ghm)。
未经填充的纯6060D纤维的韧度明显高于经填充的复合纤维的韧度 (表12)。
图24示出了PLA/ZnO和PLA/MgO复合纤维的降解结果。与复合颗粒的重量损失%趋势一致,与纯PLA 6060D纤维在≤60℃的温度下的重量损失%相比,所有的复合纤维均表现出了较高的重量损失%(在49和38℃温度下,纯6060D纤维的重量损失%小于2%)。对于所有的被测温度而言,在相同的降解条件下,较大的重量损失%与纤维中较高的ZnO或MgO填充量相关。
综上,已提出了许多具有很短降解时间的可降解复合材料。进一步地,我们例示了多种用于调节降解时间的技术以及多种针对各种不同使用条件而优化复合材料的技术。
已经结合一些实施方案提出前述描述。具有本公开所涉及的技术的本领域技术人员将理解可实施所描述结构和操作方法的变更和变化而不有意偏离本发明的原理和范围。因此,前述描述不应理解为仅涉及所描述的和附图中所示的精确结构,而应理解为与所附权利要求一致并支持所附权利要求,所述权利要求具有其最完整且最公平的范围。

Claims (15)
1.可降解复合组合物,包含与水溶性填充剂、蜡填充剂或反应性填充剂的离散颗粒混合的可降解聚合物,可降解复合材料在60℃水中于少于30天或14天或7天内降解。
2.如权利要求1所述的可降解复合组合物,其中所述离散颗粒的平均粒径是10纳米至5微米。
