Abstract

本发明是关于一种线缆连接器组合及其组接方法,该组合主要包括电连接器、线缆、分接体及定位板等其它固持结构,其中电连接器的绝缘本体上设有若干条通道,收容有对应数目具有刺破型末端的导电端子,定位板分别安置于绝缘本体的上、下表面以提供若干个收容沟收容对应数目的导线,且分接体是包括具有叉状刺突部的单一本体,通过它与选定的端子相连接。依靠以上结构,可以有选择性地将一组特定的端子连接在一起或使它们短路。

Description

线缆连接器组合及其组接方法
本发明属于一种线缆连接器组合及其组接方法,特别是涉及一种利用刺破型端子,且配合一分接体,以有选择性地将一组特定端子连接一起或使它们短路的线缆连接器组合及其组接方法。
与应用于电脑内部所谓的扁平并排式线缆连接器不同,大多数输入/输出用的线缆连接器通常用于连接电脑及其外部设备,如美国专利第5,505,637号所揭示,众所周知,这类线缆连接器包含有设在线缆被覆内的一束导线,且该输入/输出线缆连接器是利用传统焊接方式将端子与对应的导线分别加以焊接。该焊接过程相当花费时间、人力及金钱成本。而且,因相邻的端子彼此非常靠近,焊料相对容易污染相邻的端子/导线,而导致两相邻的端子/导线间相互接通,并产生突发且不正确的短路情形。相反,有时一些相隔较远的特定端子/导线需要组合为一组并同时短路以满足某些设计环境的需要,对用在每两个特定端子的跳接线焊在一起有意地使这些端子同时短路,此过程也会花费时间、人力和金钱成本。参考一些根据相同理论但应用于不同领域的美国专利,其揭示了几种配合在不同连接器上的分接或跳线装置,以在该连接器末端与对应连接器相对接时作为替换,相关的结构可参阅美国专利第4,602,834、4,607,899、4,997,390、5,000,699、5,391,096、5,609,493号等。
本发明的主要目的是提供一种线缆连接器组合,该线缆连接器有一束连接其上的导线,且电连接器的端子是通过刺破方式,及具有与特定导线相连接的刺穿装置的分接体而与对应的导线相连接,因而该电连接器的端子可通过刺破连接方式与对应的导线相连接,且特定端子亦可通过刺破方式相互短路。
本发明的技术特征在于:线缆连接器组合包括有绝缘本体、若干个端子、线缆、及分接体,绝缘本体上设有若干收容信道,将该若干个端子收容在绝缘本体的对应收容信道内,且每一个端子均包括有刺破型末端;该线缆包覆有若干条导线,每一导线连接在端子的末端上;另外,绝缘本体一表面上至少设一定位板,该定位板设有收容所述分接体的收容室,所述分接体包括保持在所述收容室内的基板,以及若干由该基板延伸的的刺突部,其中部分刺突部刺破特定导线并使该特定导线达成彼此接通短路。
本发明与现有技术相比具有以下的优点:本发明线缆连接器有一束连接其上的导线,且电连接器的端子是通过刺破方式,及具有与特定导线相连接的刺穿装置的分接体而与对应的导线相连接,因而该电连接器的端子可通过刺破连接方式与对应的导线相连接,且特定端子也可通过刺破方式相互短路。
下面结合附图及实施例对本发明作进一步的说明。
图1是本发明线缆连接器组合的立体分解图。
图2是图1线缆连接器组合不包括上金属屏蔽层、上壳体、固定夹持片以及对应连接的线缆/导线的,而显示整个组合其余组件的局部放大立体分解图。
图3是图1线缆连接器组合显示上、下壳体间内部组件如何嵌入其内部空间的局部放大立体图。
图4是图1线缆连接器组合显示端子如何安置在绝缘本体内的局部放大立体图。

请参阅图1、图2及图3,本发明电缆/插头连接器组合10包括有电连接器12及线缆14,其中电连接器12包括有绝缘本体16(请同时参阅图5),其上设有若干个长通道18及若干个短通道20,且这些通道是沿绝缘本体16的上、下表面21、23的前后方向间隔延伸(图中仅显示了上表面21)。再请参阅图4,与长通道18及短通道20具有相等数量的长端子22及短端子24分别收容在前述绝缘本体16的长、短通道18、20内。而且绝缘本体16的前端设有突板部26,长、短通道18、20的前段28恰好延伸至该突板部26以收容端子22、24的接触段30,同时凸板部26上设有若干个平行且相互间隔的干涉用的凸块32,用来与基座70的收容槽72相结合,将在后面详细描述。
绝缘本体16的前端设有一收容基座70的凹部34,而且,可与二螺栓110相配合的两对凸耳36分别设于绝缘本体16的两侧,且两对一定长度的定位柱38分别垂直设在绝缘本体16的上、下表面21、23的两侧,用来与定位板48、50上设在同一直线上的定位孔相配合(将在后面详细描述)。
每一个端子22、24包括前端的接触段30及其后端的末端40,其中接触段30是用来与对接的插座连接器(末图示)的接触部分相配合,而末端40则用于与线缆42的对应导线46相接合(将在后面详细描述)。另外,每一端子22、24还包括一倒钩状保持部(未图示),其可适当干涉在对应的通道内而使端子22、24保持在通道18、20内。
线缆42包括有一包容若干个导线46的外被覆44,其中每一导线46是通过刺破方式与对应的端子22、24的末端40作机械性和电性连接。图1、2、3仅显示了线缆42的其中两条导线46分别与绝缘本体16上表面21上对应的长、短二端子22、24相结合,但其它导线46与其对应的端子22、24间亦有同样的相互连接关系。
如图8所示,该上、下定位板48、50分别安置于绝缘本体16的上、下表面21、23,其中每一定位板48、50相对于绝缘本体16的通道18、20设有与这些通道处于同一垂线上的收容沟52,因此每一被端子22、24的末端40刺破连接的线缆42的导线46,将适当地容置于收容沟52内。而且,每一定位板48、50的前、后部各横向开有适当收容端子22、24叉状末端40的长形狭缝54、56。
如图7所示,下定位板50包括有一收容有分接体60的收容室51,该分接体60包括有设有定位孔64的基板62,依靠定位孔64与下定位板50上的定位凸块66相配合,可以使分接体60稳定保持在收容室51内。而且,分接体60还包括若干个分离式叉状刺突部68,可有选择性的与特定导线46作机械性和电性导接,即有些分接体60的叉状刺突部68可从基板62分离出来而不与非特定导线作机械性和电性接触,而其余的叉状刺突部68则与对应的特定导线46相互连接,并在刺破导线接触的状态下,使这些特定导线46达成彼此接通短路的功能。
定位板48、50包括有导正用的定位孔64,以套置在绝缘本体16的定位柱38上,在安装时使定位板48、50与绝缘本体16连接在正确的位置上。
基座70通常收容在绝缘本体16的凹部34内,且绝缘本体16的干涉用凸块32可容接在基座70的收容槽72内,同时,除前述端子22、24的倒钩状保持部外,基座70相邻两收容槽72间所形成的邻接凸缘74也可对端子22、24施加额外的固持力量。
一外壳76通过其上的卡勾78与绝缘本体16的凹槽17相扣合而固接在绝缘本体16上,且通达基座70的垂直板71及外壳76的垂直板77彼此邻接而使基座70被夹持在外壳76与绝缘本体16之间,并稳定保持在绝缘本体16的凹部34内。此时,基座70的D型延伸部79可轻易收容在外壳76的D型开口80内,进而使绝缘本体16的突板部26也自外壳76的D型开口80向外凸伸。外壳76还包括有与上、下壳体90、91的凹口(后面将描述)相配合的定位凸块81。
上、下屏蔽层82、84分别装设于实质上由绝缘本体16、端子22、24、线缆42的导线46、上、下定位板48、50组接一体的半成品组合体的上、下侧,其中每一屏蔽层82、84上设有一基板86,其上设有若干个固定孔87及分别设于基板86前后两段的两对相邻壁面88、89,且这些前、后段壁面88、89间形成有侧向的落差。故当上、下屏蔽层82、84分别置于半成品组合体的上、下侧时,上、下屏蔽层82、84的前段成对壁面88将于侧向上彼此叠合,相同地,上、下屏蔽层82、84的后段成对壁面89也以相同的方式相互叠合。因而,通过上、下屏蔽层82、84的前、后段两对壁面88、89的结合,上、下屏蔽层82、84可相互稳定结合而不会有侧向或纵方向的移动。
最后,上壳体90及下壳体91分别靠接于前述半成品组合体上,如图6所示,每一壳体90、91的两侧缘各设有一对用来使一对定位螺栓100通过的半圆形导引槽体92。壳体90、91基板上各设有一对配合收容绝缘本体16后部的凸耳36、且具有凹槽95的定位块94,以使该半成品组合体的绝缘本体16能固持在上、下壳体90、91间不会有纵长方向的移动,另外,该每一壳体90、91内部底板上还设有定位凸块100,以配合收容在上、下屏蔽层82、84对应设置的定位孔87内,使半成品组合体能保持在上、下壳体90、91内而不会横向移动。
另外,每一壳体90、91的后部附近还设有导引柱96及导引容体97,且在两壳体90、91的相对位置上分别设有相互配合的导引柱96及导引容体97,以确保上、下壳体90、91组装时能相互结合。每一壳体90、91的后侧分别有卡合槽98,用于收容具有线缆42通过其中的应力缓衔体102的膨大部101,且壳体90、91的卡合槽98前侧设有一挡止壁99。另外,夹持件103包括有用于夹持于线缆42的凸露端的环形体104,且环形体104的四周相对于挡止壁99邻侧所设的凹陷口109有二翼部105,其恰好可以嵌入该凹陷口109并抵止在挡止壁99上,以抵抗作用在外侧线缆部分上的向后拉力,辅助应力缓衔体102的功能。每一壳体90、91前端内部表面设有用来与外壳76上的定位凸块81相扣合的扣合孔106。
将上、下壳体90、91完全精确覆盖在半成品组合体后,两壳体可通过超声波熔接,以彼此稳定结合,故整个组合是处于密封的状态,此时已安置在上、下壳体90、91内且露出外壳76的螺栓孔107外的螺栓110,可用于与对接插座连接器(末图示)固接,且每一螺栓110设有阻止环108抵止在上、下壳体90、91的后壁111上,可以防止螺栓110从成品组合体的上、下壳体90、91内脱出。
本发明的组接方式及其对应的结构可参考尚末授权的美国申请案08/748,101号以进一步了解本案。

Claims (7)

1.一种线缆连接器组合,包括有绝缘本体、若干个端子、线缆、及分接体,其特征是:绝缘本体上设有若干收容信道,将该若干个端子收容在绝缘本体的对应收容信道内,且每一个端子均包括有刺破型末端;该线缆包覆有若干条导线,每一导线连接在端子的末端上;另外,绝缘本体一表面上至少设一定位板,该定位板设有收容所述分接体的收容室,所述分接体包括保持在所述收容室内的基板,以及若干由该基板延伸的的刺突部,其中部分刺突部刺破特定导线并使该特定导线达成彼此接通短路。
2.如权利要求1所述的线缆连接器组合,其特征是:绝缘本体前部设置有一基座及一外壳,且基座夹持在外壳与绝缘本体之间。
3.如权利要求2所述的线缆连接器组合,其特征是:定位板上至少覆设有一层屏蔽层。
4.如权利要求3所述的线缆连接器组合,其特征是:屏遮层外侧至少覆设有一壳体。
5.如权利要求4所述的线缆连接器组合,其特征是:壳体上至少设有一个与绝缘本体上的凸耳相扣合的定位块。
6.如权利要求5所述的线缆连接器组合,其特征是:壳体上设有可夹持导线并将其定位在线缆暴露端的夹持件,且壳体上还设有用于阻止夹持件移动的挡止壁。
7.一种如权利要求1所述线缆连接器组合的使用方法,其特征是:第一、提供所述包覆有若干导线的线缆及电连接器组件;第二、提供所述若干个具有刺破型末端、且可以与对应的导线作机械性和电性连接的端子;第三、提供所述有若干个刺突部、且可分别以刺破连接方式与特定导线作机械性和电性连接的分接体。
