Description

具有配件的柔性容器及其生产方法
背景技术
本发明涉及一种用于分配可流动材料的柔性容器以及一种用于生产柔性容器的方法。
具有角撑式主体区段的柔性容器是已知的。这些角撑式柔性容器目前使用柔性膜来生产,所述柔性膜被折叠形成角撑并且被热密封成外围形状。角撑式主体区段打开以形成具有正方形横截面或矩形横截面的柔性容器。角撑在容器的底部终止以形成基本平坦的基部,用于当容器被部分或全部填充时提供稳定性。角撑也在容器的顶部终止以形成打开的颈部,用于接收刚性配件和封闭件。
用于制造具有刚性配件的角撑式柔性容器的常规程序具有缺点。一种常规方法仅部分地热密封柔性容器——需要容器的底部保持未密封或以其它方式打开。随后将刚性配件插入穿过容器的打开的底部并进入颈部中。一旦配件被放置到颈部中,热密封过程继续,形成热密封以关闭先前打开的容器底部。这种方法是低效的,因为其中断了外围热密封程序并且需要两个步骤来形成容器。
另一种常规方法需要将刚性配件手动地倒置安装到颈部开口中。然后用手在柔性容器内部旋转配件并将其推到位,使配件与颈部开口对准,以使得柔性容器膜结构与配件之间适当密封。随后将配件夹紧热密封到颈部。这种方法繁琐、费力且耗时。
需要一种提高生产效率(例如缩短生产时间、通过自动化减少手动任务,以及精简生产步骤)的生产角撑式柔性容器的方法。
还需要一种生产带有具有改进的冲击强度的配件的角撑式柔性容器的方法。
还需要一种带有具有改进的耐冲击性的配件和/或薄壁配件的角撑式柔性容器。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种用于生产柔性容器的方法和所得的柔性容器。
在一个实施例中,提供了一种柔性容器。所述柔性容器包括四个面板。四个面板形成:(i)主体部分;(ii)颈部部分,和从颈部部分延伸的扩口部分;(iii)在主体部分与颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分;(iv)颈部部分具有减小的宽度,扩口部分具有扩张端。扩口部分的宽度从颈部部分到扩张端逐渐增大。
本发明提供了另一种柔性容器。在一个实施例中,提供了一种柔性容器并且其包括四个面板。四个面板形成:(i)主体部分;(ii)颈部部分,和从颈部部分延伸的扩口部分;(iii)在主体部分与颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分;(iv)颈部部分具有减小的宽度。所述柔性容器包括附接到颈部部分的配件。所述配件由具有大于50J/m至500J/m的Izod耐冲击性的聚合物组合物制成。
本发明提供了另一种柔性容器。在一个实施例中,提供了一种柔性容器并且其包括四个面板。四个面板形成:(i)主体部分,(ii)颈部部分,(iii)在主体部分与颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分,并且(iv)颈部部分具有减小的宽度。所述柔性容器不存在刚性配件且包括在颈部部分中的密封。

具体实施方式
本发明提供了一种方法以及通过所述方法生产的柔性容器。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括(A)提供具有四个面板的柔性容器。所述四个面板形成(i)主体部分;(ii)颈部部分,和从颈部部分延伸的扩口部分;(iii)在主体部分与颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分;并且(iv)颈部部分具有减小的宽度,扩口部分具有扩张端;并且扩口部分的宽度从颈部部分到扩口扩张端(即扩口部分的扩张端)逐渐增大。所述方法包括(B)将配件从扩张端插入到扩口部分中。
1.柔性容器
所述方法包括提供柔性容器10。柔性容器10具有收缩构造(如图1所示)以及具有扩张构造(如图3、图4、图5所示)。图1示出了柔性容器10,其具有底部区段I、主体区段II、锥形过渡区段III、颈部区段IV和扩口区段V。在扩张构造中,底部区段I形成底部部段26。主体区段II形成主体部分。锥形过渡区段III形成锥形过渡部分。颈部区段IV形成颈部部分。扩口区段V形成扩口部分。
柔性容器10由四个面板制成。在制造过程中,当将一个或多个膜材料幅材密封在一起时形成面板。尽管幅材可以是独立的膜材料片,但是应当理解,幅材之间的任何数量的接缝可以是“预制的”,如通过折叠一个或多个源幅材以产生一个接缝或多个接缝的效果。例如,如果需要通过两个幅材而不是四个幅材制造本柔性容器,则底部幅材、左中心幅材和右中心幅材可以是单个折叠幅材,而不是三个独立的幅材。类似地,可以使用一个、两个或更多个幅材来生产每个各自的面板(即袋中袋构造或囊式构造)。
图2示出了四个幅材在随着它们通过制造过程形成四个面板(处于“整体向上”构造)时的相对位置。为了清楚起见,幅材被示出为四个单独的面板,这些面板分离并且没有进行热密封。组成要素幅材形成第一角撑面板18、第二角撑面板20、前面板22以及后面板24。面板18-24是如下详细讨论的多层膜。在图1和图2中示出了角撑折叠线60和62。
如图2所示,折叠的角撑面板18、20被放置在后面板24与前面板22之间以形成“面板夹层”。角撑面板18与角撑面板20相对。面板18-24的边缘被构造成或以其它方式设置成形成如图1所示的公共外围11。每个面板幅材的柔性多层膜被构造成使得热密封层彼此面对。公共外围11包括底部密封区域,所述底部密封区域包括每个面板的底端。
当容器10处于收缩构造时,柔性容器处于展平状态或处于其它排空状态。角撑面板18、20向内折叠(图1的虚线角撑折叠线60、62)并且被前面板22和后面板24夹在中间。
图3至图5示出了处于扩张构造的柔性容器10。柔性容器10具有四个面板,前面板22、后面板24、第一角撑面板18和第二角撑面板20。四个面板18、20、22和24形成主体区段II并朝向容器10的顶端44延伸以及朝向容器10的底端46延伸。区段III、IV和V(各自为锥形过渡区段、颈部区段和扩口区段)形成顶部部段28。区段I(底部区段)形成底部部段26。
四个面板18、20、22和24各自可以由独立的膜材料幅材构成。每个膜材料幅材的组成和结构可以相同或不同。可选地,也可以使用一个膜材料幅材制成所有四个面板以及顶部部段和底部部段。在又一个实施例中,可以使用两个或更多个幅材制成每个面板。
在一个实施例中,提供了四个膜材料幅材,为每个各自的面板18、20、22和24提供一个膜幅材。所述方法包括将每个膜的边缘密封到相邻的膜幅材,以形成外围密封41(图1、图3、图4、图5)。外围锥形密封40a-40d位于容器的底部部段26上,如图4所示。外围密封41位于容器10的侧边缘上。因此,所述方法包括形成封闭的底部区段I、封闭的主体区段II和封闭的锥形过渡区段III。
为了形成顶部部段28和底部部段26,四个膜幅材在各自的端部处会聚在一起并且被密封在一起。例如,顶部部段28可以由在锥形过渡区段III、颈部区段IV和扩口区段V处密封在一起的面板的延伸部限定。顶端44包括限定顶部部段28的四个顶部膜面板28a-28d(图5)。底部部段26可以由在底部区段I处密封在一起的面板的延伸部限定。底部部段26还可以具有密封在一起的四个底部膜面板26a-26d,并且还可以由在相对端46处的面板的延伸部限定,如图4所示。
颈部部分可以从过渡部分延伸。可选地,颈部部分可以从主体部分的四个面板中的一个面板延伸,或者从主体部分的边角延伸。
在一个实施例中,颈部30被定位在顶部部段28的中点处。颈部30的尺寸可以(或可以不)被设计成小于主体区段III的宽度,使得颈部30可以具有比顶部部段28的总面积小的面积。颈部30的位置可以为容器10的顶部部段28上的任何位置。
在一个实施例中,颈部由两个或更多个面板形成。在又一个实施例中,颈部30由四个面板形成。
尽管图1和图3示出了具有顶部手柄12和底部手柄14的柔性容器10,但是应当理解,柔性容器可以被制造成没有手柄或仅具有一个手柄。当柔性容器具有顶部手柄时,颈部优选地位于顶部部段上在手柄支腿之间,以便于容易倾倒。
在一个实施例中,颈部30位于顶部部段28中并且位于顶部手柄12的支腿13之间的中心。
形成柔性容器10的四个膜面板从主体区段II(形成主体部分47)延伸到锥形过渡区段III(形成锥形过渡部分48),以形成颈部部分30(在颈部区段IV中)和扩口部分50(在扩口区段V中)。四个膜面板也从主体区段II延伸到底部区段I(形成底部部分49)。当柔性容器10处于收缩构造(图1)中时,颈部部分30具有比锥形过渡区段III的宽度小的宽度,并且颈部部分具有“减小的宽度”。扩口部分50从颈部部分30延伸。图1和图3示出了扩口部分50和颈部部分30以形成通向柔性容器内部的进入开口。如图1、图3和图5所示,扩口部分50具有扩张端51,并且扩口部分50的宽度从颈部部分30到扩张端51逐渐增大。扩口侧52在从颈部部分30移动到扩张端51时向外朝向手柄支腿13、15延伸。面板被密封在一起以形成封闭的底部区段、封闭的主体区段和封闭的锥形过渡区段。合适的加热程序的非限制性实例包括热密封和/或超声密封。当容器10处于扩张构造时,扩口部分50的扩张端51是打开的或者以其它方式被解除密封。当柔性容器10处于收缩构造中时,扩张端51被解除密封并且是可打开的。打开的扩张端51允许通过扩口部分50和颈部部分30通向容器内部,如图3和图5所示。
扩张端51具有宽度G,宽度G具有比颈部部分30的宽度F大的长度,如图1所示。在一个实施例中,宽度G的长度(以毫米计,mm)比宽度F的长度大1.1倍、或1.2倍、或1.5倍、或2.0倍、或3.0倍、或4.0倍至5.0倍、或6.0倍、或7.0倍、或8.0倍。
当柔性容器10处于扩张构造(如图3所示)时,扩口部分50限定截头圆锥形内部容积,由此当从颈部部分30移动到扩张端51时,扩口部分50的直径逐渐增大。
如图1、图3至图4所示,柔性底部手柄14可以被定位在容器10的底端46处,使得底部手柄14是底部部段26的延伸部。
每个面板包括各自的底面。图4示出了四个三角形的底面26a-26d,每个底面是各自膜面板的延伸部。底面26a-26d构成底部部段26。四个面板26a-26d在底部部段26的中点处汇合。底面26a-26d例如通过使用热密封技术密封在一起,以形成底部手柄14。例如,可以进行焊接以形成底部手柄14,并且将底部部段26的边缘密封在一起。合适的热密封技术的非限制性实例包括热棒密封法、热模密封法、脉冲密封法、高频密封法或超声密封法。
图4示出了底部部段26。每个面板18、20、22、24具有存在于底部部段26中的各自底面26a-26d。每个底面由两个相对的外围锥形密封40a-40d限定边界。每个外围锥形密封40a-40d从各自的外围密封41延伸。用于前面板22和后面板24的外围锥形密封具有内边缘29a-29d(图4)和外边缘31(图6)。外围锥形密封40a-40d在底部密封区域33处会聚(图1、图4、图6)。
前面板底面26a包括由第一外围锥形密封40a的内边缘29a限定的第一线A和由第二外围锥形密封40b的内边缘29b限定的第二线B。第一线A与第二线B在底部密封区域33中的顶点35a处相交。前面板底面26a具有底部最远内密封点37a(“BDISP 37a”)。BDISP 37a位于内边缘上。
顶点35a与BDISP 37a间隔0毫米(mm)至小于8.0mm的距离S。
在一个实施例中,后面板底面26c包括与前面板底面上的顶点类似的顶点。后面板底面26c包括由第一外围锥形密封40c的内边缘29c限定的第一线C和由第二外围锥形密封40d的内边缘29d限定的第二线D。第一线C与第二线D在底部密封区域33中的顶点35c处相交。后面板底面26c具有底部最远内密封点37c(“BDISP 37c”)。BDISP 37c位于内边缘上。顶点35c与BDISP 37c间隔0毫米(mm)至小于8.0mm的距离T。
应当理解,对前面板底面的以下描述同样适用于后面板底面,其中在相邻的括号中示出了后面板底面的附图标记。
在一个实施例中,BDISP 37a(37c)位于内边缘29a(29c)和29b(29d)相交的位置。BDISP 37a(37c)与顶点35a(35c)之间的距离为0mm。

在一个实施例中,每个外围锥形密封40a-40d(外边缘)和来自各自的外围密封41(外边缘)的延长线形成角度G,如图1所示。角度G为40°、或42°、或44°、或45°至46°、或48°、或50°。在一个实施例中,角度G为45°。
底部部段26包括形成在其上的一对角撑54和56,它们实质上是底面26a-26d的延伸部。角撑54和56可以促进柔性容器10直立竖立的能力。这些角撑54和56由来自每个底面26a-26d的多余材料形成,所述多余材料连接在一起形成角撑54和56。角撑54和56的三角形部分包含密封在一起并延伸到其各自的角撑的两个相邻的底部部段面板。例如,相邻的底面26a和26d沿着相交边缘延伸超过它们的底表面的平面并且被密封在一起以形成第一角撑54的一侧。类似地,相邻的底面26c和26d沿着相交边缘延伸超过它们的底表面的平面并且被密封在一起以形成第一角撑54的另一侧。同样,类似地通过相邻的底面26a-26b和26b-26c形成第二角撑56。角撑54和56可接触底部部段26的一部分,其中角撑部分角撑54和56可接触覆盖它们的底面26b和26d,而底部部段面板26a和26c在底端46处保持暴露。
如图3至图4所示,柔性容器10的角撑54和56可以进一步延伸到底部手柄14中。在其中角撑54和56邻近底部部段面板26b和26d定位的方面中,底部手柄14也可以延伸跨过底面26b和26d,在一对面板18和20之间延伸。底部手柄14可以沿着底部部段26的中心部分或中点定位在前面板22与后面板24之间。
对于四面板容器10而言,顶部手柄12和底部手柄14可包含密封在一起的多达四层的膜。当使用多于四个面板来制造容器时,手柄可包括用于生产容器的相同数量的面板。手柄12、14的任何部分(其中所有四层通过热密封方法没有完全密封在一起)可以以任何适当的方式(例如通过粘性密封)粘附在一起,以形成完全密封的多层手柄。可选地,顶部手柄可以由尽可能少的仅来自一个面板的单层膜制成,或者可以仅由来自两个面板的两层膜制成。手柄12、14可以具有任何合适的形状,并且通常将采用膜端部的形状。例如,通常,膜幅材在未卷绕时具有矩形形状,使得其端部具有直边缘。因此,手柄12、14也将具有矩形形状。
另外,底部手柄14在其中可包含尺寸被设计成配合使用者的手的手柄开口16或切口部分,如可以从图1中看出的。手柄开口16可以是便于配合手的任何形状,并且在一方面,手柄开口16可以具有大致卵形的形状。在另一方面,手柄开口16可具有大致矩形的形状。另外,底部手柄14的手柄开口16还可以具有翼片38,所述翼片38包含形成手柄开口16的切割材料。为了限定手柄开口16,手柄14可以具有沿着三个侧面或部分从多层手柄14上切除同时保持附接在第四侧面或下部的部分。这提供了材料翼片38,所述材料翼片38可以由使用者推动穿过开口16并且折叠在手柄开口16的边缘上,以提供接触使用者的手的边缘处相对光滑的抓握表面。如果材料翼片被完全切除,这将留下暴露的第四侧或下边缘,第四侧或下边缘可能相对锋利,并且当放置在那里时可能切伤或划伤手。
此外,附接到底部部段26的底部手柄14的一部分可以包含基准机器折痕(deadmachine fold)42或划刻线,其使手柄14在相同方向上连贯一致地折叠,如图3所示。机器折痕42可以包含允许在第一方向上朝向前侧面板22折叠并且限制在第二方向上朝向后面板24折叠的折叠线。如本申请通篇使用的术语“限制”可以意味着更容易在一个方向或第一方向上移动,而不是在相反方向(例如第二方向)上移动。机器折痕42可以使得手柄14在第一方向上连贯一致地折叠,因为可以被认为在手柄中提供了大体上永久的折叠线,所述折叠线预先设置成在第一方向X而不是在第二方向Y上进行折叠。底部手柄14的所述机器折痕42可以用于多个目的,一个目的是当使用者从容器10转移产品时,它们可以抓住底部手柄14,并且它将容易在第一方向X上弯曲以辅助倾倒。其次,当柔性容器10被储存在直立位置时,底部手柄14中的机器折痕42促使手柄14沿着机器折痕42在第一方向X上折叠,使得底部手柄14可以折叠在容器10下方邻近底部部段面板26a之一处,如图4所示。产品的重量也可以向底部手柄14施加力,使得产品的重量可以进一步压在手柄14上并且将手柄14保持在第一方向X上在折叠位置中。如本文将讨论的,顶部手柄12还可以包含类似的机器折痕,所述机器折痕也允许顶部手柄在与底部手柄14相同的第一方向X上连贯一致地折叠。
另外,当柔性容器10被排空并且保留较少的产品时,底部手柄14可以继续提供支撑以帮助柔性容器10保持不受支持地直立竖立并且不倾翻。因为底部手柄14通常沿着其在一对角撑面板18和20之间延伸的整个长度密封,所以它可以有助于将角撑54和56(图1、图3)保持在一起,并且即使容器10被清空,也继续提供支撑以使容器10直立竖立。
如图1、图3和图5所示,顶部手柄12可以从顶部部段28延伸,并且特别地,可以从构成顶部部段28的四个面板28a-28d延伸。延伸到顶部手柄12中的四个膜面板28a-28d全部密封在一起以形成多层顶部手柄12。顶部手柄12可以具有U形,并且特别地,具有倒置的U形,其中水平上部手柄部分12a具有从其延伸的两对间隔开的支腿13和15。这对支腿13和15从顶部部段28延伸,邻近颈部部分30。
当手柄12延伸到垂直于顶部部段28的位置中时,顶部手柄12的一部分可以在颈部部分30上方以及在顶部部段28上方延伸,并且特别地,整个上部手柄部分12a可以在扩口部分50和顶部部段28的上方。两对支腿13和15连同上部手柄部分12a一起围绕手柄开口构成手柄12,所述手柄开口使得使用者可以将手穿过其中并且抓住手柄12的上部手柄部分12a。
与底部手柄14一样,顶部手柄12也可具有允许在第一方向上朝向前侧面板22折叠并限制在第二方向上朝向后侧面板24折叠的基准机器折痕。所述机器折痕可以位于在密封开始的位置处的一对支腿13、15中的每一个中。手柄12可以例如利用粘性粘合剂粘附在一起。手柄12中的机器折痕可以使得手柄12倾斜以在与底部手柄14相同的第一方向X而不是在第二方向Y上连贯一致地折叠或弯曲。如图1、图3和图5所示,手柄12同样可以包括翼片部分36,所述翼片部分36朝向手柄12的上部手柄部分12a向上折叠,以产生手柄12的光滑抓握表面,如同底部手柄14,使得手柄材料不锋利并且可以保护使用者的手不会在手柄12的任何尖锐边缘上被切伤。
在一个实施例中,顶部手柄12或底部手柄14可以是“压制手柄”,即通过从柔性容器切除或“冲压”膜材料从而从柔性容器移除膜材料的过程形成的手柄。压制手柄不具有或不存在翼片部分36(用于顶部手柄12)和/或翼片部分38(用于底部手柄14)。
在一个实施例中,握持构件可以附接到顶部手柄12或底部手柄14上。握持构件可以放置在顶部手柄12和/或底部手柄14周围。握持构件也可以模制到柔性容器中。握持构件可以粘附地附接到柔性容器的任何部分。当携带或以其它方式使用柔性容器时,握持构件为使用者提供额外的舒适性。握持构件为柔性容器提供额外的加强。在又一个实施例中,握持构件可以在使用后从柔性容器10移除并且可以与另一柔性容器重新使用。
当容器10处于静止位置时,例如当其在其底部部段26上直立竖立时,如图3所示,底部手柄14在第一方向X上沿着底部机器折痕42可折叠在容器10下方,使得其平行于底部部段26并邻近底部面板26a,并且顶部手柄12将自动在相同的第一方向X上沿着其机器折痕折叠,其中手柄12的前表面平行顶部部段28的顶部区段或面板28a。因为机器折痕,顶部手柄12在第一方向X上折叠,而不是垂直于顶部部段28直立向上延伸。手柄12和14均倾斜以在相同方向X上折叠,使得在分配时,手柄可以折叠相同的方向,相对平行于其相应的端面板或端部分,以使分配更容易且更受控制。因此,在静止位置中,手柄12和14大致彼此平行地折叠。另外,即使底部手柄14被定位在直立容器10的下方,容器10也可以直立竖立。
柔性容器10的构造材料可以包含食品级塑料。例如,可以使用尼龙、聚丙烯、聚乙烯(例如高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)和/或低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)),如之后所讨论的。塑料容器10的膜可以具有在制造、分配、产品保质期和客户使用期间足以维持产品和包装完整性的厚度和阻隔性质。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜具有100微米、或200微米、或250微米至300微米、或350微米、或400微米的厚度。在一个实施例中,膜材料提供了柔性容器10内的适当的气氛,以维持产品保质期至少约180天。此类膜可以包含氧气阻隔膜,例如在23℃和80%相对湿度(RH)下具有大于0至0.4cc/m2/atm/24h的低氧透过率(OTR)的膜。另外,柔性多层膜还可包含水蒸气阻隔膜,例如在38℃和90%RH下具有大于0至15g/m2/24h的低水蒸汽透过率(WVTR)的膜。此外,可能希望使用具有耐油性和/或耐化学性的构造材料,特别是在密封层中,但不仅限于密封层。柔性多层膜可以是可印刷的或兼容的,以接收用于在柔性容器10上显示标记的压敏标签或其它类型的标签。
在一个实施例中,膜还可以由非食品级树脂制成,用于生产除食品以外的材料的容器。
在一个实施例中,每个面板由具有至少一个、或至少两个、或至少三个层的柔性多层膜制成。柔性多层膜是弹性的、柔性的、可变形的和柔韧的。每个面板的柔性多层膜的结构和组成可以相同或不同。例如,四个面板中的每个面板可由单独的幅材制成,每个幅材具有独特的结构和/或独特的组成、抛光或印刷。可选地,四个面板中的每个面板可以是相同结构和相同组成。
在一个实施例中,每个面板18、20、22、24是具有相同结构和相同组成的柔性多层膜。
柔性多层膜可以是(i)共挤出多层结构或(ii)层压体,或(iii)(i)和(ii)的组合。在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜具有至少三层:密封层、外层和其间的粘结层。粘结层将密封层邻接到外层。柔性多层膜可以包括设置在密封层与外层之间的一个或多个任选的内层。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜是具有至少两层、或三层、或四层、或五层、或六层、或七层至八层、或九层、或10层、或11层或更多层的共挤出膜。例如,用于构造膜的一些方法是通过流延共挤出或吹胀共挤出方法、粘合剂层压、挤出层压、热层压和涂覆(例如气相沉积)。这些方法的组合也是可以的。除了聚合物材料之外,膜层可以包含在包装工业中通常使用的添加剂,例如稳定剂、爽滑添加剂、防粘连添加剂、加工助剂、澄清剂、成核剂、颜料或着色剂、填料和增强剂等。选择具有合适的感官性质和/或光学性质的添加剂和聚合物材料是特别有用的。
在另一个实施例中,柔性多层膜可以包含囊部,其中两个或更多个膜以这样的方式粘附以允许在显著的冲击期间出现一个或多个层的一些分层,使得内部膜保持完整性并继续保持容器的内容物。
用于密封层的合适的聚合物材料的非限制性实例包括烯烃基聚合物(包括直链或支链的任何乙烯/C3-C10α-烯烃共聚物)、丙烯基聚合物(包括塑性体和弹性体、无规丙烯共聚物、丙烯均聚物和丙烯抗冲共聚物)、乙烯基聚合物(包括塑性体和弹性体、高密度聚乙烯(“HDPE”)、低密度聚乙烯(“LDPE”)、线性低密度聚乙烯(“LLDPE”)、中密度聚乙烯“MDPE”)、乙烯-丙烯酸或乙烯-甲基丙烯酸及其与锌盐、钠盐、锂盐、钾盐、镁盐的离聚物、乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯共聚物及其共混物)。
用于外层的合适的聚合物材料的非限制性实例包括用于制备层压体的双轴或单轴取向膜以及共挤出膜的那些聚合物材料。一些非限制性聚合物材料实例是双轴取向聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(OPET)、单轴取向尼龙(MON)、双轴取向尼龙(BON)和双轴取向聚丙烯(BOPP)。可用于构造具有结构益处的膜层的其它聚合物材料是聚丙烯(例如丙烯均聚物、无规丙烯共聚物、丙烯抗冲共聚物、热塑性聚丙烯(TPO)等、丙烯基塑性体(例如VERSIFYTM或VISTAMAXTM))、聚酰胺(例如尼龙6、尼龙66、尼龙6/66、尼龙6/12、尼龙12等)、聚乙烯降冰片烯、环烯烃共聚物、聚丙烯腈、聚酯、共聚酯(例如PETG)、纤维素酯、聚乙烯和乙烯的共聚物(例如基于乙烯辛烯共聚物的LLDPE,例如DOWLEXTM)、其共混物及其多层组合。
用于粘结层的合适的聚合物材料的非限制性实例包括官能化的乙烯基聚合物(例如乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯(“EVA”)),用马来酸酐接枝到聚烯烃(例如任何聚乙烯、乙烯-共聚物,或聚丙烯)的聚合物,以及乙烯丙烯酸酯共聚物(例如乙烯丙烯酸甲酯(“EMA”)、含缩水甘油基的乙烯共聚物、丙烯和乙烯基烯烃嵌段共聚物(可从(陶氏化学公司)DowChemicalCompany购得的INFUSETM(烯烃嵌段共聚物)和可从陶氏化学公司购得的INTUNETM(PP-基烯烃嵌段共聚物))以及它们的共混物。
柔性多层膜可以包括可有助于结构完整性或提供特定性质的附加层。附加层可以通过直接方式或通过使用适当的粘结层添加到相邻的聚合物层。可以将可提供附加的机械性能(例如刚性或不透明性)的聚合物以及可提供阻气性或耐化学性的聚合物添加到所述结构中。
用于任选的阻隔层的合适材料的非限制性实例包括偏二氯乙烯和丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯或氯乙烯的共聚物(例如,可从陶氏化学公司购得的SARAN树脂);乙烯基乙烯醇(EVOH)、金属箔(例如铝箔)。可选地,在诸如BON、OPET或OPP的膜上的改性聚合物膜(例如气相沉积的氧化铝或氧化硅)可在层压多层膜中使用时用于获得阻隔性质。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜包括选自LLDPE(以商品名DOWLEXTM(陶氏化学公司)出售)、基本线性的单位点LLDPE、或线性乙烯α-烯烃共聚物(包括以商品名AFFINITYTM或ELITETM(陶氏化学公司)出售的聚合物,例如丙烯基塑性体或弹性体,例如VERSIFYTM(陶氏化学公司))及其共混物的密封层。任选的粘结层选自乙烯基烯烃嵌段共聚物PE-OBC(作为INFUSETM出售)或丙烯基烯烃嵌段共聚物PP-OBC(作为INTUNETM出售)。外层包括大于50wt%的树脂,所述数值具有为25℃至30℃或40℃或者比密封层中的聚合物的熔点高的熔点Tm,其中外层聚合物选自树脂(例如VERSIFY或VISTAMAX)、ELITETM、HDPE或丙烯基聚合物(例如丙烯均聚物、丙烯抗冲共聚物或TPO)。

在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜包括选自LLDPE(以商品名DOWLEXTM(陶氏化学公司)出售)、单位点LLDPE(基本线性或线性烯烃聚合物,包括以商品名AFFINITYTM或ELITETM(陶氏化学公司)出售的聚合物)、丙烯基塑性体或弹性体(例如VERSIFYTM(陶氏化学公司))以及它们的共混物的密封层。柔性多层膜还包括为聚酰胺的外层。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜是共挤出膜,并且包括:
(i)由具有小于105℃的第一熔化温度(Tm1)的烯烃基聚合物构成的密封层;和
(ii)由具有第二熔化温度(Tm2)的聚合物材料构成的外层,
其中Tm2-Tm1>40℃。
术语“Tm2-Tm1”是外层中的聚合物的熔化温度与密封层中的聚合物的熔化温度之间的差,并且也被称为“ΔTm”。在一个实施例中,ΔTm为41℃、或50℃、或75℃、或100℃至125℃、或150℃、或175℃、或200℃。

在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜包括由乙烯基聚合物、或线性或基本线性的聚合物、或乙烯和α-烯烃单体(例如1-丁烯、1-己烯或1-辛烯)的单位点催化的线性或基本线性的聚合物构成的密封层,所述聚合物具有65℃至小于125℃的热密封起始温度(HSIT)。申请人发现,具有HSIT为65℃至小于125℃的乙烯基聚合物的密封层有利地使得能够围绕柔性容器的复杂外围形成牢固的密封和牢固的密封边缘。HSIT为65℃至小于125℃的乙烯基聚合物是坚固的密封剂,其还允许更好地密封到易于失效的刚性配件。HSIT为65℃至125℃的乙烯基聚合物在容器制造期间能够实现较低的热密封压力/温度。较低的热密封压力/温度导致在角撑的折叠点处的应力较低,以及在顶部部段和底部部段中的膜的接合处的应力较低。这通过减少容器制造期间的起皱改善了膜的完整性。减少在折叠和接缝处的应力提高了成品容器的机械性能。低HSIT乙烯基聚合物在低于会导致外层损坏的温度下进行密封。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜是共挤出的五层膜,或至少两个层含有乙烯基聚合物的共挤出的七层膜。乙烯基聚合物在各层中可以相同或不同。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜是至少两个层含有乙烯基聚合物的共挤出的五层或共挤出的七层膜。
在一个实施例中,柔性多层膜是其中密封层由Tm为90℃至104℃乙烯基聚合物、或线性或基本线性的聚合物、或乙烯和α-烯烃单体(例如1-丁烯、1-己烯或1-辛烯)的单位点催化的线性或基本线性的聚合物构成的七层共挤出膜。外层是Tm为170℃至270℃的聚酰胺。所述膜具有40℃至200℃的ΔTm。膜具有由不同于密封层中的乙烯基聚合物的第二乙烯基聚合物构成的内层(第一内层)。所述膜具有由与外层中的聚酰胺相同或不同的聚酰胺构成的内层(第二内层)。七层膜的厚度为100微米至250微米。
图6示出了图1的底部密封区域33(区域6)和前面板26a的放大图。各个角撑面板18、20的折叠线60和62间隔距离U,所述距离U为0mm、或大于0mm、或0.5mm、或1.0mm、或2.0mm、或3.0mm、或4.0mm、5.0mm至12.0mm、或大于60.0mm(例如,对于较大的容器而言)。在一个实施例中,距离U大于0mm至小于6.0mm。图6示出了在顶点35a处与线B(由内边缘29b限定)相交的线A(由内边缘29a限定)。BDISP 37a在远内密封弧39a上。顶点35a与BDISP 37a间隔S,S的长度为大于0mm、或1.0mm、或2.0mm、或2.6mm、或3.0mm、或3.5mm、或3.9mm至4.0mm、或4.5mm、或5.0mm、或5.2mm、或5.5mm、或6.0mm、或6.5mm、或7.0mm、或7.5mm、或7.9mm。
在图6中,在四个外围锥形密封40a-40d在底部密封区域中会聚的地方形成了顶封64。顶封64包括4层部分66,其中每个面板的一部分被热密封到每隔一个的面板的一部分。每个面板代表4层热密封中的1层。顶封64还包括两层部分68,在两层部分68中两个面板(前面板和后面板)被密封在一起。因此,如本文所使用的“顶封”是外围锥形密封会聚的区域,所述区域经受随后的热密封操作(并且总共经受至少两次热密封操作)。顶封位于外围锥形密封中,并且没有延伸到柔性容器10的室中。
在一个实施例中,顶点35a位于顶封64的上方。顶点35a与顶封64间隔开并且不接触顶封64。BDISP 37a位于顶封64上方。BDISP 37a与顶封64间隔开并且不接触顶封64。
在一个实施例中,顶点35a位于BDISP 37a与顶封64之间,其中顶封64不接触顶点35a,并且顶封64不接触BDISP 37a。

当使用多于四个幅材来生产容器时,顶封64的部分68可以是4层、或6层、或8层部分。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器10具有90%、或95%至100%的垂直坠落试验通过率。所述垂直坠落试验如下进行。用自来水填充容器至其额定容量,在25℃下调节至少3小时,通过其上部手柄以1.5m高度(从容器的基部或侧面到地面)保持在直立位置中,并且释放以自由落体落到混凝土板地板上。如果在坠落后立即检测到任何泄漏,则将试验记录为失败。测试至少20个柔性容器。然后计算通过/失败容器的百分比。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器10具有90%、或95%至100%的侧面坠落试验通过率。所述侧面坠落试验如下进行。用自来水填充容器至其额定容量,在25℃下调节至少3小时,通过其上部手柄保持在直立位置中。将柔性容器在其侧面上从1.5m高度释放以自由落体落到混凝土板地板上。如果在坠落后立即检测到任何泄漏,则将试验记录为失败。测试至少20个柔性容器。然后计算通过/失败容器的百分比。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器10通过竖立试验,其中包装在环境温度下用水填充并且放置在平坦表面上七天,并且应当保持在相同位置中,形状或位置没有发生改变。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器10具有0.050升(L)、或0.1L、或0.15L、或0.2L、或0.25升(L)、或0.5L、或0.75L、或1.0L、或1.5L、或2.5L、或3L、或3.5L、或4.0L、或4.5L、或5.0L至6.0L、或7.0L、或8.0L、或9.0L、或10.0L、或20L、或30L的容积。
柔性容器10可用于将任何数量的可流动物质储存在其中。特别地,可以将可流动食品产品储存在柔性容器10内。在一方面,可以将可流动食品产品(例如沙拉酱、调味汁、乳制品、蛋黄酱、芥末、番茄酱、其它调味品)、饮料(例如水、果汁、牛奶或糖浆、碳酸饮料、啤酒、葡萄酒)、动物饲料、宠物饲料等储存在柔性容器10内部。
柔性容器10适于储存其它可流动物质,包括但不限于油、油漆、油脂、化学品、固体在液体中的悬浮液,以及固体颗粒物质(粉末、颗粒、粒状固体)。
柔性容器10适合于储存具有更高粘度的可流动物质并且需要向容器施加挤压力以便排出。此类可挤压和可流动物质的非限制性实例包括油脂、黄油、人造奶油、肥皂、洗发剂、动物饲料、调味汁和婴儿食品。
2.配件
本发明方法包括将配件从扩张端51插入到扩口部分50中。如图7至图17所示,配件70包括基部72和封闭件74。尽管基部72具有圆形横截面形状,但是应当理解,基部72可以具有其它横截面形状,例如多边形横截面形状。具有圆形横截面形状的基部72与用于常规双面板柔性袋的具有舟形基部的配件不同。
在一个实施例中,基部72的外表面具有表面纹理。表面纹理可以包括压纹73,以及促进密封到颈部部分30的内表面的多个径向脊,如下面将讨论的。
在一个实施例中,配件70不包括具有卵形、翼形、眼形或舟形基部的配件。
尽管图7至图17示出了旋拧式封闭件(与配合的旋拧盖一起使用),但是应当理解,配件70可以包括其它封闭系统。合适的配件和封闭件的非限制性实例包括螺旋盖、掀盖、扣盖、液体或饮料分配配件(止动旋塞或拇指柱塞)、冷弯配件连接器、防拆封倾倒口、垂直扭盖、水平扭盖、无菌盖、维拓普按压件、按压卡头、推动卡头、杆盖、康若配件连接器以及其它类型的可移除(并且可选地可再闭合)的封闭件。封闭件和/或配件可以包括或可以不包括垫圈。
在一个实施例中,封闭件74是水密的。在又一个实施例中,封闭件74为容器10提供气密密封。
在一个实施例中,配件70可以由刚性构造制成,并且可以由任何适当的塑料(例如高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)、聚丙烯(PP)及其组合)形成。颈部部分30的位置可以在容器10的顶部部段28上的任何位置。在一个实施例中,颈部部分30位于顶部部段28的中心或中点处。
在一个实施例中,配件通过双组分结构A/B共注塑而制成,其中A是具有大于外部材料B(密封侧)的Tm的熔点Tm的内部材料。在另一个实施例中,材料A和B是不同类型的材料,其中任选的粘结层C将材料A粘附到材料B。在又一个实施例中,外部材料B具有低的摩擦系数(COF)以便于配件插入到颈部部分30中。
在一个实施例中,配件70包括具有大于50焦耳(J)/米(m)、或100J/m、或150J/m、或200J/m、或250J/m至300J/m、或350J/m、或400J/m、或450J/m、或500J/m的Izod耐冲击性的聚合物组合物。Izod耐冲击性根据ASTM D 256测量。在又一个实施例中,配件包括具有大于50J/m、或100J/m、或150J/m、或200J/m、或250J/m至300J/m、或350J/m、或400J/m、或450J/m、或500J/m的Izod耐冲击性的聚烯烃。
在一个实施例中,配件70包括含有聚烯烃的聚合物组合物,所述聚烯烃的熔化温度(Tm)大于或等于用于制造面板的多层膜的密封层中存在的聚烯烃的熔化温度。当使用夹紧热密封来形成基部72与颈部部分30之间的密封时,非限制性实例包括由具有125℃的Tm的HDPE构成的配件70,并且容器10的密封层含有Tm为105℃的LDPE。另一个非限制性实例是由Tm为120℃的LLDPE构成的配件70,并且容器10具有含有Tm为96℃的乙烯/α-烯烃共聚物(AFFINITYTMPL 1140G)的密封层。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将配件70支撑在心轴80上,以及随后将配件70首先插入到扩张端51中,然后插入到扩口部分50中,以及然后插入到颈部部分30中。可以通过如图7至图8所示的自动进给系统将多个配件顺序地进给到心轴80。图7示出了移动到位以接收和支撑多个配件70中的一个的心轴80。尽管图7示出了具有与封闭件74的长度类似的长度的心轴80,但是应当理解,心轴80可以具有与配件70的长度相同、或基本上相同、或大于其长度的长度。换句话说,心轴80可以部分地支撑或完全支撑配件70、基部72、封闭件74及其任何组合。

在一个实施例中,心轴80是自动化系统的部件,心轴是如图7至图16所示的可动臂的部件。
图9示出了接近扩口部分50的扩张端51的配件70(由心轴80支撑)。图10示出了进入穿过或以其它方式插入到扩张端51中并插入到扩口部分50中的配件70(由心轴80支撑)。在图11中,配件70(由心轴80支撑)继续移动,并继续进入或继续插入到颈部部分30中。在一个实施例中,基部72的外径与颈部部分30的内径相同,或略比其小,使得基部72紧密装配或以其它方式摩擦装配到颈部部分30中。
尽管图7至图11示出了朝向柔性容器10移动的心轴80(具有配件70),但是应当理解,柔性容器10可以朝向心轴80(支撑配件70)移动,心轴80在插入过程中静止、或间歇地静止以及间歇地移动。可选地,所述过程可能需要一种系统,由此柔性容器10和心轴80各自可相对于另一个移动,使得柔性容器10和配件70(由心轴80支撑)可以各自朝向和远离另一个移动,从而将配件70插入到扩张端51中,穿过扩口部分50,并插入到颈部部分30中。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将配件70邻接到颈部部分30。如图11所示,配件70的基部72被插入到颈部部分30中,其中基部72的外表面通过摩擦装配、压紧装配、粘合剂组合物及其组合邻接到基部72的内表面。
在基部72位于颈部部分30中的情况下,所述方法的实施例包括将配件70的基部72热密封到颈部部分30。热密封程序采用相对的热密封夹具90、92,如图12至图13所示。热密封夹具被加热到大于或等于多层膜的密封层的熔化温度(Tm)并且小于配件70的熔化温度的温度。热密封夹具90、92将多层膜的密封层压紧抵靠在基部72的外表面上持续0.1秒、或0.5秒、或1.0秒、或2.0秒、或3.0秒、或4.0秒、或5.0秒至6.0秒、或7.0秒、或8.0秒、或9.0秒、或10秒。心轴80在接触和压紧期间将配件70支撑在热密封夹具90、92与颈部部分30之间。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括在密封过程中用心轴80支撑基部72。密封过程可以是夹紧热密封或超声密封。通过心轴80支撑配件70有利地避免了在热密封程序期间配件70(以及基部72和封闭件74)的变形。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将配件70的基部72超声密封到颈部部分30。超声密封需要在施加压力的同时将超声振动引导到基部72与颈部部分30之间的界面。超声能量使界面的一部分熔化以在基部72与颈部部分30之间形成密封。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将由乙烯/α-烯烃共聚物(例如ELITETM(4.0MI和122℃ Tm))构成的基部72超声密封到具有由乙烯/α-烯烃共聚物(ELITETM 5400G(1.0MI,122℃ Tm))和/或乙烯/α-烯烃共聚物(AFFINITYTM PL 1880G(1.0MI,99℃ Tm))构成的密封层的颈部部分30。
由于超声密封仅加热密封层,所以密封层的Tm可以比配件的Tm小10℃至5℃。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将由具有99℃的Tm的乙烯/α-烯烃共聚物(例如AFFINTIYTMPL1880G)构成的配件70超声密封到由具有Tm为105℃的LDPE构成的密封层的颈部部分30。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括相对于热密封夹具将柔性容器旋转90°或80°至100°,并重复上述热密封程序。图12示出了第一热密封顺序;以及图13示出了第二热密封顺序,其中柔性容器10旋转90°。热密封夹具90、92在相反的方向上并朝向彼此移动,以将颈部部分30压紧热密封到基部72上。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括在基部72与颈部部分30之间形成水密密封。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括在基部72与颈部部分30之间形成水密和气密密封。
如图14所示,在颈部部分30与基部72之间形成的热密封限定了多余扩口部分96。因此,本发明方法的实施例包括通过邻接形成多余扩口部分。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括从柔性容器10移除多余扩口部分96。图14至图16示出了被放置成与柔性容器10的颈部部分30接触的划刻装置100。随着柔性容器10旋转以从颈部部分30划刻、切割或以其它方式断开多余凸缘部分96,划刻装置100的刀片部分102接触颈部部分30。然后,心轴80移动远离配件70(或反之亦然),并且将多余划刻部分96从柔性容器10移除。多余扩口部分96可以被回收或者被丢弃。
在一个实施例中,所述方法包括将配件插入穿过扩口部分。心轴进入颈部部分,使得配件基部进入容器内部。心轴可以延伸到使得整个配件(基部和顶部)可以插入或以其它方式进入容器内部的长度。所述方法包括使划刻装置与颈部部分接触并在接触期间用心轴支撑颈部部分。所述方法包括旋转颈部部分(或旋转划刻装置)以从颈部部分切割多余扩口部分。以这种方式,心轴在划刻期间支撑颈部,从而避免切割到配件。所述方法包括从颈部部分移除多余扩口部分。一旦多余扩口部分被移除,所述方法包括利用心轴将配件缩回到颈部部分中并将配件基部密封到颈部部分。
图17示出了其上插入有配件70的完整的柔性容器10。可流动物质位于容器内部。柔性容器10是直立容器(或称为直立袋或SUP)。
在一个实施例中,可以在将配件70插入到扩口部分50之前或之后将可流动物质添加到柔性容器10中。可流动物质可以是如先前上文所公开的任何可流动物质(颗粒或液体)。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括通过先前邻接到颈部部分30的配件70插入可流动物质。
在另一个实施例中,所述方法包括在将配件70插入到扩张端51中之前将可流动物质添加到柔性容器内部中。所述方法包括添加可流动物质,通过扩张端51、通过扩口部分50、通过颈部部分30,并进入容器内部中。在将可流动物质添加到容器内部之后,可以将配件70插入到扩张端51中,插入到扩口部分50中,并且邻接到颈部部分30,如先前上文所讨论的。
在一个实施例中,携带构件附接到配件。携带构件可以通过以下方式中的一个、一些或全部被附接以装配在配件的一部分、或全部外周周围:摩擦装配、压紧装配和卡扣装配。当柔性容器不包括手柄时,携带构件是有利的。携带构件还可用于分配来自柔性容器的内容物。
3.没有配件的密封容器
本发明提供了另一种方法。在一个实施例中,所述方法包括(A)提供具有四个面板的柔性容器。四个面板形成(i)主体部分,(ii)颈部部分,(iii)在主体部分与颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分,并且(iv)颈部部分具有减小的宽度。所述方法包括(B)通过颈部,将可流动物质添加到容器内部中;以及(C)密封颈部部分。
柔性容器可以是如上所述的任何柔性容器。然而,在所述实施例中,柔性容器没有配件(即,缺少附件70),并且扩口部分是可选的。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器不包括或者不存在如图18所示的扩口部分。所述方法包括密封颈部部分30并形成颈部密封150。颈部密封150可以是热密封、粘合剂密封及其组合。
在一个实施例中,颈部密封150是热密封。
颈部密封150可以包括凹口152(或切口)和/或穿孔154以促进颈部密封150的启动或打开。颈部密封150的启动可以通过手(撕裂密封)或通过剪刀、刀片或其它尖锐物体进行。
在一个实施例中,柔性容器10包括如图19示的扩口部分50。扩口部分50具有扩张端51,并且扩口部分的宽度从颈部部分到扩口扩张端逐渐增大,如先前本文所公开的。所述方法包括添加可流动物质,通过扩张端51、通过扩口部分50、通过颈部部分30,并进入容器内部中。在容器内部中的可流动物质的情况下,所述方法包括密封扩口部分50以形成如图19所示的扩口密封160。扩口部分50可以在扩张端51处、在扩张端51下方以及它们的组合处被密封。应当理解,当柔性容器包括扩口部分时,扩口密封代替或以其它方式取代颈部密封。
扩口密封160可以包括凹口162和/或穿孔164以促进凸缘密封的启动,如上文关于颈部密封所公开的。
具有颈部密封或扩口密封的柔性容器可以是单次使用的容器或可再密封的容器。在一个实施例中,柔性容器是单次使用的容器,并且所述方法包括添加可流动物质,通过颈部部分30(或通过扩口部分50)并进入容器内部中。在容器内部中的可流动物质的情况下,所述方法包括或在颈部部分30(凹口152,图18)中或在扩口部分50(凹口162,图19)中形成切口密封(也称为撕裂式密封)。当启动切口密封时,可以进入容器内部,并且通过颈部部分30(或扩口部分50)分配可流动物质。
在一个实施例中,颈部密封150或扩口密封160可以是可再密封型密封。所述方法包括添加可流动物质,通过颈部30(或通过扩张端51、通过扩口部分50、通过颈部部分30),并进入容器内部中。在容器内部中的可流动物质的情况下,所述方法包括在颈部部分30或扩口部分50中形成可再密封型密封。
图18示出了为再密封结构(例如Zip-loc(密封袋)型再密封结构)的互锁肋结构156。合适的可再密封型密封的其它非限制性实例包括可剥离密封、翼片密封、粘合剂密封(例如压敏粘合剂密封、拉链密封、钩环重密封结构(Velcro型密封)及其任何组合。
在一个实施例中,颈部密封150或扩口密封160包括微毛细管带。通过启动密封150/160,微毛细管带提供容器内容物的受控式喷雾输送。
在一个实施例中,颈部密封150或扩口密封160可以包括封闭件。在密封启动之后,封闭件覆盖颈部密封或扩口密封的暴露开口。合适的封闭件的非限制性实例包括Ziploc型封闭件、钩环材料(即Velcro)、粘合剂条(例如包装带)以及以铰接方式附接到柔性袋以放置在打开的密封上的柔性材料。

实例
1.材料
使用表1中提供的七层膜形成如图1至图6所示的具有颈部和主体的四面板柔性容器。使用如表1所示的150微米(μm)的七层膜ISO X7-7135C-1TC(其由ISO Poly Films(灰色苑(Gray court),南卡罗来纳州)生产)生产容积为3.875L的在本发明实例和对比样品(CS)中使用的容器。

使用KRW Machinery Inc.(北卡罗来纳州,维尔)的制造设备在下表3中提供的热密封条件下制造柔性容器。柔性容器中的所有密封都通过一次冲击制成。

柔性容器具有如本文所述的容器几何形状。特别地,所测试的每个柔性容器具有如图4所示的底部几何形状和如图6中所示的顶封。顶点与BDISP之间的距离(即,距离S)大约为4mm。
表4提供了适于生产可用于本发明方法中的配件的材料的非限制性实例。在一个实施例中,配件由具有大于50J/m至500J/m的Izod耐冲击性的材料构成,并且示于下表4中。

在膜ISO X7-7135C-1TC的上述条件下制备并如表3所示进行密封的3.875L容器坯件没有扩口部分(完全成形的容器,但是具有尚未附接的配件),使得颈部在直径上是均匀的。将图7至图17中所示的设计的HDPE配件(70),其在螺纹处具有38mm外径(OD)以及在基部处具有1.6mm壁厚度的41mm OD,插入到没有任何扩口部分的完全成形的坯件的顶部中。将配件插入到颈部的顶部中导致颈部膜的频繁折叠,需要手动展开膜并导致较慢的制造速度。在密封之前无法将膜适当地安置到配件上也可能导致在通过插入过程膜所折叠在的位置处或附近的位置处的密封失败。在这些参数下进行10个生产运行,并且对每个生产阶段的时间求平均,如表5所示。
实例1

实例2
在膜ISO X7-7135C-1TC的上述条件下制备并如表3所示进行密封的3.875L容器坯件,但具有扩口部分,使得顶部开口的直径大于颈部直径。将图7至图17中所示的设计的HDPE配件70(在螺纹处具有38mm OD以及在基部处具有1.6mm壁厚度的41mmOD)直接插入到扩口部分的顶部开口中并且进入颈部中,而颈部的膜没有发生折叠,从而容易地将配件放置到颈部中,以及使颈部的膜与配件良好密封。在扩口部分的底部利用抵靠在配件上的膜上的刀片手工修剪扩口部分(如图7至图16中所示,但是用手)。然后从容器移除扩口部分。在这些参数下进行10个生产运行,并且对每个生产阶段的时间求平均,如表5所示。
实例3
在上表1中所列的膜的上述条件下制备的3.875L容器坯件没有配件,但具有扩口部分,使得顶部开口的直径大于颈部直径。将图7至图17中所示的设计的HDPE配件70(在螺纹处具有38mm外径(OD)以及在基部处具有1.6mm壁厚度的41mm OD)插入到顶部开口中,穿过扩口部分但是更深,并且通过颈部,以使得扩口部分的基部仅由心轴支撑。然后在心轴支撑件上的扩口部分的基部处修剪膜,并且然后将配件拉回到颈部合适位置中以便密封。在颈部部分与配件基部之间进行热密封。然后,将心轴从密封的配件缩回,并且移除多余扩口部分。在这些参数下进行10个生产运行,并且对每个生产阶段的时间求平均,如表5所示。
表5示出了从配件插入至热密封的生产步骤。这些步骤构成构建具有配件的柔性容器的总时间,即“总构建时间”。总构建时间以秒为单位记录。表5中的值是针对每个样品在所述参数下进行10次生产运行的平均值。

实例1-3各自具有比对比样品1的总构建时间小的总构建时间。表5表明提供扩口部分减少了生产时间(即,减少了总构建时间)并提高了生产效率。
对比样品2(CS2)和实例4-5
按照实例1中所述的方法制备容器,但是使用具有1.6mm壁厚度的替代的38mm配件材料。表6中的实例表明由不同材料组成的配件可以被成功安装。在一个实施例中,所述配件具有根据ASTM D256测量的大于50J/m至500J/m的Izod冲击强度。表6还表明可以实现既具有强度又具有气密性的密封,如分别通过成功的爆裂试验和悬挂试验所示。

爆裂测试程序
方法:
1.)将所有柔性容器用测试编号、识别膜#和生产设置点(如果需要)进行编号/标记。
2.)通过人工充气或压缩空气使所有柔性容器预先膨胀。
3.)盖紧盖子。
4.)将柔性容器放置在真空压力室内并关闭罩盖。
5.)通过真空泵施加真空压力。当柔性容器继续膨胀时,应该缓慢地施加压力。
6.)真空单位以in(inHg)记录。优越的结果是18(inHG)保持60秒。通过为12(inHg)。
7.)在测试时间段期间,任何薄弱的密封区域将随着泄漏而暴露。应该寻找到气泡,并且气泡可以指示柔性容器的薄弱区域。
8.)用空气完全充满柔性容器,并且拧紧配件上的封闭件。然后将柔性容器完全浸没在水浴中。然后将水上方的室排空以形成真空。爆裂试验的“通过”分数是当在40千帕真空下在水浴中30秒后没有视觉观察到气泡时。
重力悬挂试验程序
方法:
1.)将所有柔性容器用测试编号、识别膜#和生产设置点(如果需要)进行编号/标记。
2.)用室温水填充所有柔性容器至建议的填充高度。
3.)将3滴亚甲基蓝染料和3滴表面活性剂(肥皂)添加到每个柔性容器中并搅拌。
4.)将封闭件盖紧到配件上。
5.)然后将柔性容器颈部侧向下和颈部侧向上悬挂,以测试颈部密封区域和填缝密封区域的强度。
6.)使柔性容器悬挂48小时。
7.)在测试时间段期间,任何薄弱的密封区域将随着泄漏而暴露。
8.)悬挂试验的“通过”分数是将柔性容器悬挂48小时,而没有检测到泄漏。通过视觉识别柔性容器下面显示已经掉落的任何液滴的白纸来检测泄漏。添加到柔性容器中的水溶液含有用于帮助视觉检测泄漏的蓝色植物染料。水溶液还含有一滴或两滴肥皂(Dawn洗碗皂),其中肥皂表面活性剂有助于使得水渗透密封中可能存在的任何间隙。
壁厚度是配件基部的厚度(以mm计)。
例如,1mm壁厚度的HDPE 8262B的刚度系数(1.1)等于1.5mm壁厚度的LLDPEDowlex 2535或LDPE 9931的刚度系数(1.1)。对于较低模量的材料,例如ENGAGE 8401,将需要3.3mm的壁厚度以获得1.1的刚度系数。
申请人发现,利用本发明方法(心轴支撑配件且随后将配件通过扩张端和扩口部分插入到颈部部分中)有利地使得能够实现“薄壁”或减小配件基部的壁厚度,允许使用更薄的壁的配件以及允许针对配件使用不同的材料。
例如,在常规四面柔性容器中使用的配件基部的壁厚度为约2.0mm。本发明方法有利地实现了“薄壁”,或者减小了配件的基部的壁厚度。申请人出乎意料地发现,本发明方法能够生产具有基部壁厚度为0.15mm、或0.2mm、或0.3mm、或0.5mm、或0.7mm、或0.9mm、或1.0mm至1.1mm、或1.3mm、或1.5mm、或1.7mm、或1.9mm的配件的四面板柔性容器。
具体地,本发明不限于本文所包含的实施例和说明,而是包括那些实施例的修改形式,所述修改形式包括实施例的一部分和不同实施例的元素的组合,这些修改与以下权利要求书的范围一致。

Claims (17)

1.一种柔性容器,其包含:
四个单独的柔性膜材料面板,所有四个面板被密封在一起以形成以下(i)到(iv)中的每一个:
(i)主体部分;
(ii)颈部部分,和从所述颈部部分延伸的扩口部分;
(iii)连接所述主体部分与所述颈部部分的锥形过渡部分;
(iv)所述颈部部分具有减小的宽度,所述扩口部分具有扩张端;并且
所述扩口部分的宽度从所述颈部部分到所述扩张端逐渐增大;
插入到所述扩口部分中的配件,所述配件包含具有圆形横截面的基部;
所述基部在所述颈部部分中被密封到所述四个面板中的每一个;
在所述基部和所述颈部部分之间的所述密封限定具有打开的扩张端的多余扩口部分。
2.根据权利要求1所述的柔性容器,其中,所述扩张端具有大于所述颈部部分的所述宽度的宽度。
3.根据权利要求1所述的柔性容器,其中,所述扩张端具有比所述颈部部分的所述宽度大1.1倍至8.0倍的宽度。

前面板底面包含由第一外围锥形密封的内边缘限定的第一线和由第二外围锥形密封内边缘的内边缘限定的第二线,所述第一线与所述第二线在所述底部密封区域中的顶点处相交;
所述前面板底面具有在所述内边缘上的底部最远内密封点;并且
所述顶点与所述底部最远内密封点间隔0mm至小于8.0mm的距离。
10.根据权利要求1所述的柔性容器,其中,当所述柔性容器处于扩张构造时所述扩口部分限定截头圆锥形内部容积。
11.一种柔性容器,其包含:
四个单独的柔性膜材料面板,所有四个面板被密封在一起以形成以下(i)到(iv)中的每一个:
(i)主体部分;
(ii)具有减小的宽度的颈部部分;
(iii)在所述主体部分与所述颈部部分之间的锥形过渡部分;
(iv)所述颈部部分具有减小的宽度,扩口部分具有扩张端,所述扩口部分的宽度从所述颈部部分到所述扩口部分扩张端逐渐增大;以及
在所述扩张端中形成的密封;以及
形成在所示柔性容器的底部密封区域的顶封,其中所述顶封位于底部密封区域中的顶点和底部最远内密封点的下方。
12.根据权利要求11所述的柔性容器,其中,所述密封是热密封。
13.根据权利要求11所述的柔性容器,其中,所述密封是可再密封的。
14.根据权利要求12所述的柔性容器,其中,所述密封是可再密封的。
15.根据权利要求11到14中任一项所述的柔性容器,其包含用于所述密封的封闭件。
16.根据权利要求11所述的柔性容器,其中,当所述柔性容器处于扩张构造时所述扩口部分限定截头圆锥形内部容积。
17.根据权利要求16所述的柔性容器,其中,所述扩口部分由扩口侧限定,所述扩口侧在颈部部分和扩张端之间延伸;当所述柔性容器处于收缩构造时各扩口侧限定直线。
