Abstract
Description
該プロセスは、可撓性容器10を提供することを含む。可撓性容器10は、畳まれた構成(図1に示されるような)を有し、拡張構成(図3、4、5に示されるような)を有する。図1は、底部セクションI、本体セクションII、先細遷移セクションIII、ネックセクションIV、及びフレアセクションVを有する、可撓性容器10を示す。拡張構成において、底部セクションIは、底部区分26を形成する。本体セクションIIは、本体部分を形成する。先細遷移セクションIIIは、先細遷移部分を形成する。ネックセクションIVは、ネック部分を形成する。フレアセクションVは、フレア部分を形成する。
(i)105℃未満の第1の融解温度(Tm1)を有するオレフィン系ポリマーから成るシール層と、
(ii)第2の融解温度(Tm2)を有するポリマー材料から成る外部層とを含み、
Tm2−Tm1>40℃である。
本プロセスは、拡張端部51からフレア部分50に付属部を挿入することを含む。図7〜17に示されるように、付属部70は、ベース72及びクロージャ74を含む。ベース72は円形断面形状を有するが、ベース72は、例えば、多角形断面形状等の他の断面形状を有し得ることが理解される。円形断面形状を有するベース72は、従来の2パネル可撓性パウチに使用されるカヌー形ベースを有する付属部とは異なる。
本開示は、別のプロセスを提供する。一実施形態において、該プロセスは、(A)4つのパネルを有する可撓性容器を提供することを含む。4つのパネルは、(i)本体部分、(ii)ネック部分、(iii)本体部分とネック部分との間の先細遷移部分を形成し、(iv)ネック部分は、低減された幅を有する。該プロセスは、(B)ネックを通じて、流動性物質を容器内部の中へ添加することと、(C)ネック部分をシールすることと、を含む。
本明細書に開示される数値範囲は、下限値及び上限値からの、それらを含む全ての値を含む。明示的な値(例えば、1、または2、または3から、5、または6、または7まで)を含む範囲について、任意の2つの明示的な値の間のあらゆる下位範囲(例えば、1〜2、2〜6、5〜7、3〜7、5〜6など)も含まれる。
図1〜6に示されるようなネック及び本体を有する4つのパネルの可撓性容器は、表1に提供される7層フィルムを使用して形成される。本実施例において、かつ比較サンプル(CS)において使用される容器は、表1に示されるように、ISO Poly Films(Gray Court,South Carolina)によって製作される150マイクロメートル(μm)の7層フィルムISO X7−7135C−1TCを使用して、3.875Lの容積で製作される。
ネックが直径において均一であるように、フィルムISO X7−7135C−1TCの上の条件で作製され、かつフレア部分を有しない、表3のようにシールされる3.875Lの容器ブランク(完全に形成された容器であるが、付属部がまだ付着されていない)。ねじ山において38mmの外径(OD)、及びベースにおいて1.6mmの壁厚を伴う41mmのODを有する、図7〜17に示される設計のHDPE付属部(70)を、いかなるフレア部分も有しない完全に形成されたブランクの頂部に挿入する。ネックの頂部への付属部の挿入は、ネックフィルムの頻繁な折り畳みをもたらし、フィルムを手動で広げることを必要とし、かつより遅い速度の製造をもたらす。シールの前に、フィルムを付属部上へ適切に着座させることができない場合もまた、フィルムが挿入プロセスによって折り畳まれる場所またはその近くで、シール不良をもたらす。これらのパラメータの下での10回の製作工程を実施し、各製作段階に対する時間を、表5に示されるように平均する。

頂部開口部がネック直径よりも大きい直径であるように、表1に列記されるフィルムの上の条件で作製される3.875Lの容器ブランクは、付属部を有しないが、フレア部分を有する。ねじ山において38mmの外径(OD)、及びベースにおいて1.6mmの壁厚を伴う41mmのODを有する、図7〜17に示される設計のHDPE付属部70を、頂部開口部の中へ、フレア部分を通るが、より深く、かつネックを越えて挿入して、フレア部分のベースがマンドレルのみによって支持されることを可能にする。次いで、フィルムを、マンドレル支持部上のフレア部分のベースにおいてトリミングし、次いで、付属部を、シールのために適所にネックの中へと引き戻す。熱シールが、ネック部分と付属部ベースとの間に作製される。次いで、マンドレルを、シールされた付属部から退縮させ、余分なフレア部分を除去する。これらのパラメータの下での10回の製作工程を実施し、各製作段階に対する時間を、表5に示されるように平均する。
容器は、実施例1に説明されるプロセスのように、しかしながら、1.6mmの壁厚を有する代替の38mmの付属部材料を使用して作製される。表6の実施例は、異なる材料から成る付属部が、成功裏に装着され得るということを示す。一実施形態において、付属部は、50J/m超〜500J/mのASTM D256によるアイゾット衝撃強度を有する。表6はまた、強度及び密封性の両方を有するシールが、それぞれ、成功した破裂及び吊下試験によって示されるように、達成され得るということを示す。
プロセス:
1.)全ての可撓性容器に付番し、試験番号、識別フィルム#、及び製作設定点(必要な場合)でタグ付けする。
2.)全ての可撓性容器は、手動での膨張または圧縮空気を介して、事前膨張させる。
3.)キャップをきつく適用する。
4.)可撓性容器を、真空圧力チャンバの内側に配置し、ふたを閉める。
5.)真空ポンプを介して、真空圧力を印加する。圧力は、可撓性容器が膨張し続ける際、ゆっくりと印加するべきである。
6.)真空の単位は、(inHg)で記録する。例外的な結果は、60秒間保持される18(inHG)である。及第は、12(inHg)である。
7.)シールのいずれの脆弱な領域も、試験期間中に、漏出として露出する。泡を探すべきであり、これは、可撓性容器の脆弱な領域を示し得る。
8.)可撓性容器を空気で完全に充填し、付属部上のクロージャを締める。次いで、可撓性容器を水浴に完全に浸水させる。次いで、水上のチャンバを空にして、真空を創出する。破裂試験に対する「及第」スコアは、40キロパスカルの真空で30秒後、水浴中で視覚的に観察される泡がないときである。
プロセス:
1.)全ての可撓性容器に付番し、試験番号、識別フィルム#、及び製作設定点(必要な場合)でタグ付けする。
2.)全ての可撓性容器を、推奨される充填高さまで、室温の水で充填する。
3.)3滴のメエチレンブルー染料及び3滴の界面活性剤(石鹸)を、各可撓性容器に添加し、撹拌する。
4.)クロージャを、付属部にきつく適用する。
5.)次いで、可撓性容器を、ネック側を下に、及びネック側を上にして、の両方で吊下して、ネックシール及びコーキングシール領域の両方の強度を試験する。
6.)可撓性容器を、48時間吊下したままにする。
7.)シールのいずれの脆弱な領域も、試験期間中に、漏出として露出する。
8.)吊下試験に対する「及第」スコアは、漏出が検出されずに、48時間、可撓性容器を吊下することである。漏出は、落下したいかなる液滴も示すように、可撓性容器の下の白紙の視覚的識別によって検出される。可撓性容器に添加される水溶液は、漏出の視覚的検出を支援するための青色植物性染料を含有する。水溶液はまた、石鹸界面活性剤が、存在する可能性があるシール中のいかなる間隙にも水が浸透することを可能にすることに役立つ場合、1滴または2滴の石鹸(Dawn食器用石鹸)を含有する。
Claims (20)
- 可撓性容器であって、
4つのパネルであって、
(i)本体部分、
(ii)ネック部分、及び前記ネック部分から延伸するフレア部分、
(iii)前記本体部分と前記ネック部分との間の先細遷移部分、
(iv)低減された幅を有する前記ネック部分、拡張端部を有する前記フレア部分、を形成し、
前記フレア部分の幅が、前記ネック部分から前記拡張端部へ徐々に増加する、前記4つのパネルを備える、可撓性容器。 - 前記拡張端部が、前記ネック部分の幅よりも大きい幅を有する、請求項1に記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記拡張端部が、前記ネック部分の幅よりも1.1倍〜8.0倍大きい幅を有する、請求項1〜2のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記可撓性容器が、少なくとも1つの柄を備える、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記フレア部分に挿入された付属部を備える、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記付属部が、円形の断面を有するベースを備え、前記ベースが、前記ネック部分にシールされる、請求項5に記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記ベースと前記ネック部分との間の前記シールが、余分なフレア部分を画定する、請求項6に記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記余分なフレア部分が、前記可撓性容器から除去される、請求項7に記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記付属部が、50J/m〜500J/mのアイゾット衝撃耐性を有するポリマー組成物から成る、請求項5〜7のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記パネルが、ポリマーを含むシール層を有する複層フィルムから形成され、
前記付属部が、50J/m超〜500J/mのアイゾット衝撃耐性、及び前記シール層ポリマーのTm以上の溶融温度(Tm)を有する、ポリオレフィンを含む、請求項5〜9のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。 - 可撓性容器であって、
4つのパネルであって、
(i)本体部分、
(ii)ネック部分、及び前記ネック部分から延伸するフレア部分、
(iii)前記本体部分と前記ネック部分との間の先細遷移部分、
(iv)低減された幅を有する前記ネック部分、を形成する、前記4つのパネルと、
前記ネック部分に付着される付属部であって、50J/m超〜500J/mのアイゾット衝撃耐性を有するポリマー組成物から成る、前記付属部と、を備える、可撓性容器。 - 前記付属部が、円形の断面を有するベースを備え、前記ベースが、0.15mm〜1.9mmの壁厚を有する、請求項11に記載の可撓性容器。
- 各パネルが、2つの対向する外周先細シールを備える底面を含み、各外周先細シールが、それぞれの外周シールから延伸し、各外周先細シールが、内部縁を備え、前記外周先細シールが、底部シール領域において収束し、
前記前面パネル底面が、前記第1の外周先細シールの前記内部縁によって画定される第1の線と、前記第2の外周先細シール内部縁の前記内部縁によって画定される第2の線と、を備え、前記第1の線が、前記底部シール領域内の尖点で前記第2の線と交差し、
前記前面パネル底面が、前記内部縁上に底部最遠位内部シール点を有し、
前記尖点が、前記底部最遠位内部シール点から0mm〜8.0mm未満の距離だけ分離される、請求項11〜12のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。 - 可撓性容器であって、
4つのパネルであって、
(i)本体部分、
(ii)低減された幅を有するネック部分、
(iii)前記本体部分と前記ネック部分との間の先細遷移部分、を形成する、前記4つのパネルと、
前記ネック部分に形成されるシールと、を備える、可撓性容器。 - 前記シールが、熱シールである、請求項14に記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記ネック部分から延伸するフレア部分を備え、
前記シールが、前記フレア部分に形成される、請求項14〜15のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。 - 前記フレア部分が、拡張端部を有し、前記フレア部分の幅が、前記ネック部分から前記フレア部分の拡張端部へ徐々に増加し、
前記シールが、前記フレア部分の拡張端部に形成される、請求項16に記載の可撓性容器。 - 前記シールが、再シール可能である、請求項14〜17のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記シールのためのクロージャを備える、請求項14〜18のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
- 前記シールが、微小毛細ストリップを備える、請求項14〜19のいずれかに記載の可撓性容器。
