发明内容

具体实施方式
在一个实施例中，提供有一种编码信息读取(EIR)终端，其可被编程以执行由终端用户(例如零售业)已经预支付的预定义数量的编码信息读取操作。在执行预定义数量的EIR操作之后，该EIR终端可被编程以通知该终端操作者新一批EIR操作需要从终端制造商/销售方/出租方购买。在一个实施例中，EIR终端可被编程为在达到预定义使用阈值时，例如在执行90％的预支付EIR操作后通知终端操作者。
如果终端用户在执行该预支付EIR操作后决定继续使用该EIR终端，新一批EIR操作可从终端制造商/销售方/出租方购买。在一个实施例中，新一批EIR操作可经由网络接口定购并由信用卡付费。本领域技术人员将理解实际上在本发明的精神和范围内存在预定和支付的其他方法。

在一个实施例中，支付处理软件模块可通过经由WAN(如因特网)900与外部支付处理系统(图1中未示出)通信来处理信用卡支付。

其中所述解锁消息由以下之一提供：要被EIR终端读取的条形码、要经由所述通信接口传输至EIR终端的比特流；以及
其中所述多个EIR终端的每一个EIR终端被配置为响应接收所述解锁消息来执行不多于预定义数量的EIR操作。
B2.B1的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的机群管理数据库，所述机群管理数据库驻留在一个或多个计算机上；
其中所述机群管理软件模块响应接收所述客户发起的请求而配置为在产生所述解锁消息前查询所述机群管理数据库。
B3.B1的机群管理系统，其中所述支付处理软件模块配置为执行以下至少之一：信用卡处理；银行账目直接借记。
B4.B1的机群管理系统，其中所述支付处理软件模块被配置为查询外部支付处理系统。
B5.B1的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的HTTP服务器软件模块，所述HTTP服务器软件模块由所述一个或多个计算机中的至少一个计算机来执行；
其中所述HTTP服务器软件模块配置为输入所述客户发起的请求。
B6.B1的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的机群管理数据库，所述机群管理数据库驻留在一个或多个计算机上；
其中所述机群管理数据库包括多个机群管理记录，每一个机群管理记录包括终端标识符字段、支付量字段、以及多个允许的扫描字段。

Claims (13)

1.一种编码信息读取EIR终端，包括：
中央处理单元CPU；
存储器，通信耦合至所述CPU；
通信接口；
EIR设备，从由条形码读取设备、RFID读取设备、以及读卡设备所组成的组中选择，所述EIR设备配置为执行如下之一：输出包含编码消息的原始消息数据，输出与编码消息对应的解码消息数据；
其中所述EIR终端配置为响应经由所述通信接口、所述EIR设备之一输入解锁编码消息来初始化存储在所述存储器中的EIR操作的计数器；
其中所述EIR终端在执行EIR操作之前进一步被配置为通过将所述EIR操作的计数器与预定义的常数值相比较来确认所述EIR操作是否被允许；
其中所述EIR终端进一步被配置为执行如下之一：在执行每个EIR操作的过程中使所述EIR操作的计数器增量、使所述EIR操作的计数器减量；以及
其中所述EIR操作的计数器反映了以下之一：执行的EIR操作的数量、剩余预支付EIR操作的数量。
2.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述存储器包括易失性存储器和非易失性存储器；以及
其中所述EIR操作的计数器存储在所述非易失性存储器中。
3.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述预定义的常数值等于以下之一：0、预支付EIR操作的数量。
4.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述解锁编码消息包括预支付EIR操作的数量。
5.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述解锁编码消息使用以下之一来被加密：共享密钥加密方法、非对称密钥加密方法。
6.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述EIR终端进一步被配置为响应确认所尝试的EIR操作不被允许来通知所述EIR终端的操作者。
7.权利要求1的EIR终端，其中所述EIR终端进一步被配置为响应确认所尝试的EIR操作不被允许来传输消息至外部系统。
8.一种用于管理多个EIR终端的机群管理系统，所述多个EIR终端的每一个EIR终端包括从由条形码读取设备、RFID读取设备、以及读卡设备所组成的组中选择的EIR设备，所述机群管理系统包括：
一个或多个计算机，每一个计算机包括中央处理单元、存储器和通信接口；
机群管理软件模块，由所述一个或多个计算机中的至少一个计算机来执行；以及
支付处理软件模块，与所述机群管理软件模块进行通信，所述支付处理软件模块由所述一个或多个计算机中的至少一个计算机来执行；
其中所述机群管理软件模块响应接收客户发起的请求而被配置为由所述支付处理软件模块在处理支付时产生解锁消息;
其中所述解锁消息由以下之一所提供：要被EIR终端读取的条形码、要经由所述通信接口传输至EIR终端的比特流；
其中所述多个EIR终端的每一个EIR终端包括存储器并且被配置为响应接收所述解锁消息来初始化存储在相应EIR终端的存储器中的EIR操作的计数器；
其中所述多个EIR终端的每一个EIR终端在执行EIR操作之前被配置为通过将所述EIR操作的计数器与预定义的常数值相比较来确认所述EIR操作是否被允许；
其中所述多个EIR终端的每一个EIR终端进一步被配置为执行如下之一：在执行每个EIR操作的过程中使所述EIR操作的计数器增量、使所述EIR操作的计数器减量；以及
其中所述EIR操作的计数器反映了以下之一：执行的EIR操作的数量、剩余预支付EIR操作的数量。
9.权利要求8的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的机群管理数据库，所述机群管理数据库驻留在一个或多个计算机上；
其中所述机群管理软件模块响应接收所述客户发起的请求而被配置为在产生所述解锁消息前查询所述机群管理数据库。
10.权利要求8的机群管理系统，其中所述支付处理软件模块配置为执行以下至少之一：信用卡处理；银行账目直接借记。
11.权利要求8的机群管理系统，其中所述支付处理软件模块被配置为查询外部支付处理系统。
12.权利要求8的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的HTTP服务器软件模块，所述HTTP服务器软件模块由所述一个或多个计算机中的至少一个计算机来执行；
其中所述HTTP服务器软件模块配置为输入所述客户发起的请求。
13.权利要求8的机群管理系统，进一步包括与所述机群管理软件模块通信的机群管理数据库，所述机群管理数据库驻留在一个或多个计算机上；
其中所述机群管理数据库包括多个机群管理记录，每一个机群管理记录包括终端标识符字段、支付量字段、以及多个允许的扫描字段。
