技术领域

背景技术
关于条形码和条形码读取器的技术已经在过去二十年间显著前进。常规的条形码读取器或激光扫描仪被设计成跨条形码扫描激光束，但是通常仅能够读取印刷在基于纸张的介质上的条形码。然而，许多条形码现在可以显示在移动设备的LCD或LED屏幕上而不是纸张上。因此，已经开发了新的条形码读取技术以计及与仅反射激光的传统条形码相对的照亮的条形码。

发明内容

本发明针对易于使用且提供积极的用户体验的条形码读取器。本发明的条形码读取器被设计成允许顾客以直观且允许顾客看到整个扫描操作的方式亲自扫描条形码。
在示例性实施例中，本发明的条形码读取器可以包括具有以向下方式定向的感测视场的自立式外壳。而且，条形码读取器可以包括在条形码读取器的外壳的顶部中的查看框架或窗口，以使得用户能够在条形码放置于要扫描的位置中时查看条形码。
图1是图示了条形码读取器10的实施例的透视图的示图。如图1中所示，条形码读取器10一般包括外壳12、底座14和线缆16。外壳12以某一角度从底座14延伸使得外壳12的部分定位在扫描区18上方。底座14可以具有相对平坦的底部以允许底座14稳固地坐于水平表面（诸如柜台或桌台的顶部）上。线缆16配置成在条形码读取器10与计算设备（未示出）之间传送电信号，所述计算设备诸如主计算机、销售点（POS）设备、收银机、或者配置成处理条形码信息的其它设备。

查看框架20可以配置成支持玻璃、塑料或其它材料的方块（pane）。方块可以足够透明和/或半透明以允许用户看到扫描操作而不需要用户移动他或她的头部或者环顾（look around）其它障碍物。在一些实施例中，方块可以包括过滤器以减少电磁辐射对用户的影响。因此，如图1中公开的条形码读取器10的配置提供用户友好的体验。而且，用户的移动设备26可以在扫描过程期间始终保持在视野内，以减少由其他人误处置的风险并且以向用户确保移动设备26的屏幕如针对恰当扫描所需要的那样恰当地显示条形码。
图2是图1的条形码读取器10的实施例的正视图。查看框架20向上定向并且扫描框架向下定向。根据一些实施例，查看框架20可以大约为与扫描框架22相同的尺寸。而且，查看框架20和扫描框架22基本上彼此对齐。
图3和4是图示了图1的条形码读取器10的各种实施例的横截面侧视图的示图。外壳12可以由扫描主体30和躯干（trunk）32限定。应当指出的是，躯干32以某一角度连接到底座14使得扫描主体30的至少一些部分在扫描区18之上延伸。

图3示出包括图像传感器36和反射镜38的条形码读取器10的第一实施例。在图3的该实施例中，图像传感器36设置在外壳12的躯干32中并且朝向扫描主体30的顶部以某一角度向上定向。反射镜38设置在扫描主体30中，优选地靠近扫描主体30的顶部，并且使得图像传感器36能够获得放置于扫描区18中的条形码的视场。图像传感器36的视场在图3中以虚线画轮廓并且包括通过扫描主体30的底部中的扫描框架22的视野。其中形成扫描框架22的该底部可以相对于底座14倾斜。
图4图示了条形码读取器10的第二实施例，其包括图像传感器36但不包括图3中所示的反射镜38。在该实施例中，图像传感器36设置在外壳12的扫描主体30中并且朝向扫描区18向下定向，其中具有通过扫描框架22的扫描区18的直接、未反射视野。根据一些实施例，扫描框架22可以支持透明和/或半透明衬底，其可以包括滤光能力。

在其它实施例中，图像传感器36可以配置为激光扫描仪。激光扫描仪可以包括激光源、激光定向元件、以及用于读取条形码的光传感器。
图像传感器36可以包括任何适当类型的光感测元件。例如，光感测元件可以包括电荷耦合器件（CCD）或其它数字光敏组件。
应当指出的是，用户可以在条形码放置于扫描主体30之下以及到扫描区18中时观察条形码。用户的视场可以如图3和4中所示的那样定向，其向下通过查看框架20并且通过扫描框架22。在所图示的示例中，条形码显示在移动设备26上。而且，通过如图中所示的那样配置条形码读取器10，图像传感器36的视场通过扫描框架22向下定向。利用向下视野，用户将条形码面向上放置在扫描区18内，使得条形码可以在用户可以在条形码被扫描时查看条形码的同时由图像传感器36读取。如在本公开中所限定的，条形码读取器10因此提供没有常规系统中固有的潜在问题的易于使用的直观装置。

Claims (11)

1.一种装置，包括：
至少具有扫描主体的外壳；
设置在外壳内的图像传感器，所述图像传感器配置成读取条形码；
形成在扫描主体的第一底表面中的扫描框架，所述扫描框架配置成使得图像传感器能够在条形码放置于至少部分地处于扫描主体下方的扫描区中时在视觉上检测条形码；以及
形成在扫描主体的第一顶表面中的查看框架，所述查看框架配置成使得用户能够在条形码放置于扫描区中时通过查看框架和扫描框架查看条形码。
2.权利要求1所述的装置，其中外壳还包括基本上平面的底座以及配置成将扫描主体连接到底座的躯干。
3.权利要求2所述的装置，其中躯干以非垂直角度连接到底座，以便使扫描主体至少部分地在扫描区之上延伸。
4.权利要求2所述的装置，其中图像传感器包括设置在外壳的躯干中的相机。
5.权利要求4所述的装置，还包括设置在扫描主体中的反射镜，其中图像传感器包括从反射镜向下定向的经反射的视场。
