Abstract

Description
本申请要求于2010年7月27日递交的美国临时申请No.61/368,144的权益,并在此通过引用并入本文。
本发明涉及印刷机,更具体的涉及利用虚拟主机向各种印压部件提供适当的命令的印刷机。
背景技术
美国专利No.5,894,802描述了一种在印刷操作中建立隔离位置参考的方法和装置。为补偿由不同调节器产生的在隔离位置参考信号之间随时间经过而产生的偏差,以及为避免由于这些偏差在印刷过程中将引发的问题,各种调节器内产生的隔离位置参考信号可以被定期地校正或标准化。根据示范实施例之一,在选为标准的印刷单元没有受到瞬时扰动影响时,隔离位置参考信号被校正或标准化。由于原有的设计限制,例如能应用到现有的印刷机的这一配置不能发送同样的隔离位置参考信号到其所有的驱动单元。
发明内容
上述概念的一个不足是对于滚动的变化,系统无法获知或作出反应。任何扰动,例如机械传动误差,将导致滚动的变化。这些滚动的变化导致卷筒纸(web)变形使印刷对准相对于裁切发生偏移。
本发明提供一种卷筒纸印刷机,其包含:至少一个印刷单元,将图像印刷到卷筒纸上;至少一个印压部件(press component),与卷筒纸直接接触;裁切设备,将卷筒纸裁切为纸张(sheet)。控制器向至少一个印刷单元和至少一个印压部件发送虚拟主机信号(virtual master signal)。传感器检测至少一个印压部件或直接检测至少一个印刷单元下游的卷筒纸,并产生传感器信号。处理器接收传感器信号和虚拟主机信号。处理器根据接收到的传感器信号向裁切设备发送校正后的虚拟主机信号。
本发明还提供一种印刷卷筒纸的方法。该方法包括如下步骤:使用接收虚拟主机信号的印刷单元印刷卷筒纸,检测直接接触卷筒纸的印压部件的特征或直接检测印刷单元下游的卷筒纸的特征,并且根据检测到的特征修改印刷单元和印压部件下游的其它印压部件的虚拟主机信号。
本发明还提供一种印刷卷筒纸的方法。该方法包括如下步骤:使用印刷单元接收虚拟主机信号印刷卷筒纸,用接收虚拟主机信号的至少一个印压部件作用于卷筒纸上,确定至少一个印压部件的虚拟主机信号和实际特征之间的偏差,并且根据偏差修改至少一个印压部件下游的其它印压部件的虚拟主机信号。
本发明的优选实施例可以包含一个或多个如下特征。虚拟主机信号可以包括速度,位置和加速度信息。修改后的虚拟主机信号可校正卷筒纸上已印刷图像的印刷到裁切的对准。传感器可检测至少一个印压部件的实际速度或至少一个印压部件下游卷筒纸的实际速度。处理器可将至少一个印压部件的实际速度或至少一个印压部件下游的卷筒纸的实际速度与虚拟主机信号进行比较,并提供修改后的虚拟主机信号以补偿不期望的变化。卷筒纸印刷可以包括用于导引卷筒纸到裁切设备的至少一个卷筒纸补偿器,该卷筒纸补偿器还接收修改后的虚拟主机信号以校正印刷到裁切对准中的任何变化。所述至少一个印压部件可由专用电机驱动,裁切设备可由专用电机驱动。所述至少一个印压部件可以是例如冷却单元或纵切器(slitter)。传感器可以是至少一个印压部件上的编码器。

具体实施方式
印刷机可以包括多个单独驱动的其每一个具有专用电机的印压部件。这些单独驱动的印压部件可以是例如印刷单元,橡皮布滚筒,印版滚筒,冷却单元,纵切器,裁切滚筒和卷筒纸或带补偿器。印刷机可以使用虚拟主机系统控制独立驱动的部件。虚拟主机系统向每个独立驱动印压部件的专用驱动器发出同样的虚拟主机信号,以在印刷过程期间维持印刷机内一致的驱动。虚拟主机信号通常包含速度分量和位置设置点分量。
虚拟主机信号不补偿实时印刷动作。因此,驱动器没有关于其他设备如何操作的信息。所以,虚拟主机信号不能对变化(例如印刷机部件中可能发生的滚动)做补偿或对变化做反应。任何扰动,例如机械传动误差,将导致印压部件的滚动的变化,并影响印压部件的速度、卷筒纸的速度和/或印刷到裁切的对准(print-to-cut alignment)。
滚动的变化可能导致卷筒纸变形,使印刷到裁切的对准移动。因而,印刷图像相对于裁切发生偏移可导致废品或不合需要的产品。根据本发明,使用修改后的虚拟主机信号用于补偿卷筒纸或印压部件的变化和任何导致印刷到裁切套准和对准的变化。虚拟主机信号发送到裁切滚筒,且可按期望修改以补偿不期望的滚动或印刷机/卷筒纸变化。因而,理解系统,卷筒纸和动态套准能够实现在各种滚动和其他扰动下印刷相对于裁切的预测。
图1展示了按照本发明的虚拟主机控制系统的一个实施例。印刷机100包括多个独立驱动的印压部件。每个印刷单元20,22,24,26将图像印刷在卷筒纸10上。每个印刷单元20,22,24,26可以印刷不同颜色,例如青,品红,黄和黑。每个印刷单元20,22,24,26可以是双面胶印印刷单元(perfecting offset print unit),其包括两个橡皮布滚筒(blanket cylinder)和两个印版滚筒(plate cylinder)。每个印刷单元分别包括电机或驱动器21,23,25,27。可替代地,可以只有一个印刷单元被驱动,而其他印刷单元连接到从动印刷单元。每个印刷单元驱动器21,23,25,27连接到印刷单元控制器60,62,64,66。印刷机可以优选为多色胶印平版印刷机(multicoloroffset lithographic printing press);其具有例如接收相同虚拟主机信号的四个印刷单元。

在印刷机100中每个电机21,23,25,27,36,48连接对应的控制器60,62,64,66,68,70。可替代地,每个电机可以连接一个或任意期望数量的控制器。每个控制器60,62,64,66,68,70连接到虚拟主机处理设备80。虚拟主机处理设备80发送信号81到每个控制器60,62,64,66,68,70,由此命令每个控制器60,62,64,66,68,70操作对应的电机21,23,25,27,36,48。信号81包含电机21,23,25,27,36,48的位置,速度和加速度命令。
由于印刷操作期间冷却辊32和纵切滚筒对42,44直接接触卷筒纸10,冷却辊32和纵切滚筒对42,44的实际速度和期望速度的任何偏差将导致卷筒纸10变形(strain),影响裁切滚筒对52,54的印刷到裁切的套准(print-to-cut register)。因此根据本发明,编码器34,46用于确定冷却辊32和纵切滚筒对42,44的实际速度。冷却辊32的实际速度37和纵切滚筒对52,54的实际速度49被发送到卷筒纸和套准处理器84。卷筒纸和套准处理器84比较虚拟主机信号81和实际速度37,49,并估计卷筒纸10上的印刷图像相对于预期裁切的偏移量。然后卷筒纸和套准处理器84发送修改后的虚拟主机信号86到裁切设备50的控制器72以补偿任何滚动偏差或冷却单元30或纵切器40的变化。因此,修改后的虚拟主机信号86控制电机56。传输到裁切设备50的修改后的虚拟主机信号86和处理器80传输的虚拟主机信号81不同是因为修改后的信号86补偿卷筒纸特征或印压部件的变动和变化,特别是能影响印刷到裁切套准的变动和变化。
例如,如果机械扰动导致冷却辊电机36相对于冷却辊32自身运动,则在冷却辊32或冷却单元30的卷筒纸10测量的实际速度37和包括在虚拟主机信号81中的虚拟控制速度不同。卷筒纸和套准处理器84测量该差异,传输修改后的虚拟主机信号86到裁切设备50以校正变化。因此,控制器72基于修改后的虚拟主机信号86提供的信息控制电机56的速度。
卷筒纸10和/或印压部件30,40的特征可被观察,使得能提供印刷机100的实时信息。利用该信息,处理器84能计算或确定卷筒纸10或印压部件30,40的虚拟主机信号81和观测到的特性(例如实际速度37,49)之间的偏差。通过用修改后的虚拟主机信号86更新虚拟主机信号81,下游处理例如将卷筒纸裁切为纸张中的误差将会减少。观测到的卷筒纸和/或印压部件的特征可直接从卷筒纸或印压部件本身检测,或由经验或其任意组合确定。
在另一优选替代方案中,卷筒纸上的传感器可用于确定卷筒纸的速度或卷筒纸上的变形情况。传感器可位于每个独立驱动部件的下游以测定卷筒纸特性的波动。
在其它优选实施例中,虚拟控制处理器80可发送虚拟主机信号81到裁切设备50的控制器72。然后卷筒纸和套准处理器84可发送修改后的虚拟主机信号86到控制器72。基于信号81,86之间的差异,控制器72根据需要提前或推迟电机56。可替代地,如果虚拟主机信号81被发送到控制器72,则修改后的虚拟主机信号86可仅包括修改原始虚拟主机信号81的信息,正如期望的那样,而不是传输新的完整的修改后虚拟主机信号86。
修改后的虚拟主机信号也可用于双面卷筒纸印刷。在这种情况下每个印刷机的卷筒纸补偿器和裁切设备一起被修改。来自每一印刷机的观测特征,例如滚动信息,用于估计印刷相对于裁切的变动。由于这些观测特征的效果能够被估计,修改后的信号能被发送到卷筒纸补偿器和裁切设备,其将印刷相对于裁切的偏移最小化,其中该偏移是由印刷期间的变化或扰动例如印压部件的滚动造成的。

1.一种卷筒纸印刷机,包括:
至少一个印刷单元,将图像印刷到卷筒纸上;
至少一个印压部件,与所述卷筒纸直接接触;
裁切设备,用于将所述卷筒纸裁切为纸张;
控制器,发送虚拟主机信号到所述至少一个印刷单元和所述至少一个印压部件;
传感器,检测所述至少一个印压部件或直接检测所述至少一个印刷单元下游的所述卷筒纸,并产生传感器信号;以及
处理器,接收所述传感器信号和所述虚拟主机信号,所述处理器根据所接收到的传感器信号发送修改后的虚拟主机信号到所述裁切设备。
2.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述虚拟主机信号包括速度、位置和加速度信息。
3.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述修改后的虚拟主机信号校正所述卷筒纸上印刷图像的印刷到裁切的对准。
4.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述传感器检测所述至少一个印压部件的实际速度或所述至少一个印压部件下游的所述卷筒纸的实际速度。
5.如权利要求4所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述处理器将所述至少一个印压部件的实际速度或所述至少一个印压部件下游的所述卷筒纸的实际速度与所述虚拟主机信号进行比较,并且提供所述修改后的虚拟主机信号以补偿任何不期望的变化。
6.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,还包括:用于导引所述卷筒纸到所述裁切设备的至少一个卷筒纸补偿器,所述卷筒纸补偿器还接收所述修改后的虚拟主机信号以校正所述印刷到裁切对准中的任何变化。
7.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述至少一个印压部件由专用电机驱动,所述裁切设备由专用电机驱动。
8.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述至少一个印压部件是冷却单元或纵切器。
9.如权利要求1所述的卷筒纸印刷机,其中所述传感器是所述至少一个印压部件上的编码器。
10.一种印刷卷筒纸的方法,包括以下步骤:
使用接收虚拟主机信号的印刷单元印刷卷筒纸;
检测与所述卷筒纸直接接触的印压部件的特征或直接检测所述印刷单元下游的所述卷筒纸的特征;以及
根据所检测的特征修改所述印刷单元和所述印压部件下游的其它印压部件的虚拟主机信号。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中修改所述虚拟主机信号的步骤包括:产生修改后的虚拟主机信号,发送所述修改后的虚拟主机信号到所述其它印压部件。
12.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中检测特征的步骤包括:使用所述印压部件上的编码器。
13.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中所述虚拟主机信号包括:位置分量、速度分量和加速度分量。
14.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中所述其它印压部件是裁切所述卷筒纸的裁切设备或导引所述卷筒纸的卷筒纸补偿器。
15.一种印刷卷筒纸的方法,包括以下步骤:
使用接收虚拟主机信号的印刷单元印刷卷筒纸;
用接收所述虚拟主机信号的至少一个印压部件作用于被印刷的卷筒纸;
确定所述至少一个印压部件的所述虚拟主机信号和实际特征之间的偏差;以及
根据所述偏差修改所述至少一个印压部件下游的其它印压部件的虚拟主机信号。
16.如权利要求15所述的方法,其中修改所述虚拟主机信号的步骤包括:产生修改后的虚拟主机信号,发送所述修改后的虚拟主机信号到所述其它印压部件。
17.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中确定偏差的步骤包括:检测所述至少一个印压部件的实际速度。
18.如权利要求15所述的方法,其中所述虚拟主机信号包括:位置分量、速度分量和加速度分量。
19.如权利要求15所述的方法,其中所述其它印压部件是将所述卷筒纸裁切为纸张的裁切设备或导引所述卷筒纸的卷筒纸补偿器。
20.如权利要求15所述的方法,还包括以下步骤:
观测所述至少一个印压部件下游的被印刷的卷筒纸的特征。
