Abstract

背景技术
轮脚,作为一种用于使家具能够贴地滚动的装置,在家具工业中众所周知。轮脚尤其普遍用于与床架相连。传统上,为了承受床和床上之人的重量和压力,床架轮脚的轭一直由金属制成。为了减小成本和重量,希望的是,所制成的轮脚带有塑料部分。
发明内容
本发明涉及一种轮脚,该轮脚由带有重量传递突出部的轭和带有用于承接所述突出部的槽的轮构成。优选地,所述轭和轮由塑料制成,并且在一些实施例中,由两种不同类型的塑料制成。突出部和槽帮助将轮脚上的载荷重量传递而远离所述轭的臂,并传递到轮上。在优选实施例中,塑料轮被模制以包括在任一侧上的轴,该轴挤入轭内的承接孔中,从而避免需要采用分离轮轴和铆钉。在优选实施例中,本发明涉及一种床架,该床架包含用于支撑床的支撑件,该床连接到在此所述的轮脚。

具体实施方式
图1、2、3示出包含杆2、轭4、轮6的轮脚1。杆2用于将轮脚1连接到一款家具(未示出),优选床,但是它也可以连接到包括其他类型家具的任意物体。杆2优选由金属或塑料制成,将轮脚通过轭4顶部的孔16连接到轭4。在优选实施例中,杆2通过压力挤入孔16。
当在本申请中使用术语“轮脚(caster)”时,意味着,或者指代杆2、轭4、轮6的组合,或者仅仅指代轭4和轮6(不包括杆)。
轭4优选由通过注模形成的塑料的单一工件制成。所述轭包括顶部分18和两个臂部分20,臂部分20从顶部分18向下延伸并用于支撑轮6。轭4包含在顶部分18中的杆连接孔16以及在每个臂20上的轮连接孔14。轭4的顶部分18的下侧具有突出部12,突出部12从顶部分18的下侧向下延伸,配合于形成在轮6中的槽8内。
在一个优选实施例中,轭4的顶部分16具有一体形成的肋24。这些肋提供了额外的强度,并通过减少轭4的所需厚度从而减少所需塑料的总量,来降低成本。
轮6优选由通过注模形成的塑料的单一工件制成。所述轮呈大致圆柱形,并具有围绕其中心(与其旋转轴同轴)延伸的槽8。槽8被设计为承接突出部12。优选地,轮6具有在任一侧上延伸的轴10,当轴10在轭4的轮承接孔14内咬合就位时,所述轮围绕轴10旋转。轮6可以实心也可以空心。轴10优选通过注模而一体形成为所述轮的一部分。轴10用作轮6的轮轴或旋转轴。
轴10可以实心也可以空心。在一个优选实施例中,轮脚1无任何轮轴地组装。这就降低了成本和重量,因为既不需要轮轴也不需要轮轴连接件(例如铆钉或螺栓)。在另一实施例中,可以添加轮轴(未示出),该轮轴如果空心则穿过轴10,否则就取代所述轴。
在优选实施例中,轭臂20的端部具有通向轮承接孔14的倾斜区域22。这就帮助将轴10引导到轮承接孔14,从而更易于将轮6挤入就位于轭4中。优选地,轴10的长度正好略长于在两个承接孔14之间的距离。因此,当轮6滑动就位时,臂20被轴10轻微推出。当轴10到达孔14时,臂20挤回到通常位置,从而将轮6保持固定就位。
在使用中,轮脚1将床(或其他家具物品)的重量通过杆2和突出部12传递到轮6上,以减轻轭臂20的大部分承重载荷,从而允许轭6由强度比金属小的材料制成,例如由塑料制成。
在优选实施例中,轭4和轮6由不同类型的塑料制成。优选地,所述塑料被选为,在突出部12和轮6之间的摩擦系数小于在轮6和其所滚动过的地板之间的摩擦系数。这种平衡确保了轮脚1在受到床垫和床柜负载时容易地滚动。
在一个优选实施例中,轭4由玻璃增强尼龙材料制成,并且所述轮由抗冲击的聚丙烯材料制成。
在一个实施例中,轮脚1进一步包括制动机构(未示出),以在制动机构处于锁定位置时防止轮脚滚动。
在另一优选实施例中,所述制动机构并非轮脚的分离部分。然而,轮脚1被设计为将突出部12用作制动机构。在未受负荷的情况下,突出部12并不接触(或稍微接触)轮6。当在预期载荷作用下时,轭4弯曲,而足以使突出部12更为紧固地压靠于轮6,从而用作制动机构。在轮脚1与床一起使用的情况下,在该优选实施例中,轭4被设计为,在仅仅床和机架的重量下,突出部18并不接触(或稍微接触)轮6,并且并没有明显的力施加于轮6来使轮脚能够自由滚动。当床上有人时,额外的载荷导致所述轭弯曲,而足以使突出部18压靠于轮6,从而用作制动机构,并防止或显著降低轮脚滚动的能力。
在另一实施例中,轭4或轮6可由硬化橡胶而非塑料制成。类似地,杆2可由任意强度足够的非金属材料制成,例如塑料或硬化橡胶。
在操作中,当重量压在杆2上时,该重量被传递到轭4。在现有技术的实施例中,(与轮脚相连的床或其他物品的)大部分重量在恰高于孔14处在臂20汇合轴10或轮轴之处压在所述轭的臂20上。因此,在现有技术中,轮脚经常由于臂弯曲或轴弯曲而失效。现有技术的另一失效模式是,轭顶部18向下弯曲并阻碍所述轮。在本发明中,突出部12将大部分重量直接传送到轮6上,从而减轻在臂20上的应力。在轮6中槽8的使用,为突出部12提供引导,并且防止在突出部上的横向力变得过大。所述槽还允许通过杆2传送的重量的力就位而较为靠近轮6的旋转中心,而不处在轮6的旋转表面上。这就使得轮脚较易于在重力下滚动。然而,在本发明的一个实施例中,所述轮脚被制造为不具有槽8。
示例性实施例和测试
如下实施例是示例性的,并且所描述的尺寸并不意在限制本发明的范围。类似地,所描述的测试并不意味着是对本发明的要求或限制。
在发明人已经发现的一个实施例中,尤为有用的是,所述轭由玻璃增强尼龙制成,而所述轮由抗冲击的聚丙烯制成。轭4从一个臂20的内侧到相对臂20的内侧长达2.00英寸。突出部18的厚度为0.116英寸。轮6横向长达1.94英寸,并且槽8宽度为0.146英寸。在槽8底部的轮6直径为1.298英寸。每个轴延伸超出所述轮0.21英寸,并且具有0.370英寸的直径。突出部18的长度使得,当轮6被组装到轭4中并且所述轮脚不受载荷时,在突出部18的端部和槽8的底部之间的空间为.005-.010英寸。
发明人制造并且测试了根据这些尺寸所制的轮脚。十个轮脚得到测试,并且承受660 lb(它们的额定重量的五倍)的静态载荷测试达1分钟。两个轮脚还通过了长达24小时压力下的660 lb的静态载荷测试(针对潜在应用考虑极端情况,并且超出正常操作情况)。
如上文所论述,在一个优选实施例中,轮脚1连接到床架/支撑件26,以用于支撑床28,如图4所示。在该实施例中,床架类似地包括四个轮脚1,基本上每个边角各一个。
尽管本发明的轮脚被设计而与床架一起使用,但也可以对任意轮脚进行同样的设计。

Claims (15)
1.一种轮脚,包括:
轭,其具有重量传递突出部;
轮,该轮带有用于承接所述重量传递突出部的槽。
2.根据权利要求1所述的轮脚,其特征在于,所述轭或轮由塑料制成。
3.根据权利要求1所述的轮脚,其特征在于,所述轮由聚丙烯制成,并且所述轭由玻璃增强尼龙制成。
4.根据权利要求1所述的轮脚,其特征在于,所述轮进一步包括一个或多个轴,所述轴从所述轮的任一侧沿着所述轮的旋转轴向外延伸。
5.根据权利要求4所述的轮脚,其特征在于,所述轭包含一个或多个孔,所述孔用于承接所述轮的轴,从而使所述轮围绕在所述孔中的轴旋转。
6.根据权利要求1所述的轮脚,进一步包括杆,该杆由金属或塑料制成。
7.根据权利要求1所述的轮脚,其特征在于,当所述轮脚处于载荷下时,所述轭弯曲,从而使所述突出部压靠所述轮,进而用作制动机构。
8.一种床架,包括:
支撑件,其用于支撑床;

9.根据权利要求8所述的床架,其特征在于,所述轭或轮由塑料制成。
10.根据权利要求8所述的床架,其特征在于,所述轮由聚丙烯制成,并且所述轭由玻璃增强尼龙制成。
11.根据权利要求8所述的床架,其特征在于,所述轮进一步包括轴,所述轴从所述轮的任一侧沿着所述轮的旋转轴向外延伸。
12.根据权利要求11所述的床架,其特征在于,所述轭包含孔,所述孔用于承接所述轮的轴,从而使所述轮围绕在所述孔中的轴旋转。
13.根据权利要求8所述的床架,进一步包括杆,所述杆将所述轮脚连接到所述床架,所述杆由金属或塑料制成。
