技术领域
本发明通常涉及无线通信系统,特别地,本发明涉及在所述系统中多媒体广播及组播服务的信道切换及调度。
背景技术
在无线通信系统中使用多媒体广播/组播服务(MBMS)的需求正在上升。对于特定的MBMS而言,网络中的给定小区可能不具有、或具有一个或多个预定该MBMS的用户、无线发射/接收单元(WTRU)。当用户在小区间迁移时,最初可能具有一个或不具有预定该服务的用户的小区稍后可能具有多个预定该服务的用户,相反地,具有多个预定该服务的用户在另一时间可能只具有一个或不具有用户。
用户的迁移会产生无线电资源的无效率使用。如果只有一个或很少的用户在该小区预定该MBMS,对用户来说使用专用信道来支持该服务是值得向往的,专用信道可利用功率控制及波束导向以减少用来支持MBMS的无线电资源的数量。
然而,如果太多用户预定在该小区中的MBMS,则多个专用信道总计可能会用到相当多的无线电资源,在这种情形下,较理想的无线电资源使用可能会是通过公共/共享信道来发送MBMS数据至一组预定该MBMS的用户。虽然在该情形下使用波束导向和功率控制会受限制,但总信道数量的降低可减少无线电资源的使用。当在小区中MBMS用户的数量改变,不是使用公共/共享信道就是使用专用信道的最初选择在后来就不是那么地理想了。另一个由用户迁移所导致的潜在问题是MBMS的调度。当MBMS用户在小区间移动时,该用户需要藉由接收自两小区的信息以重新建立MBMS服务。如果两小区将他们的MBMS传输进行同步,该MBMS用户就能在小区间无间隙的移动,然而,类似的情景通常不会实现且会令人失望。在基于小区负荷和有效资源的某种时间间隙下,一个小区可能会比在另一时刻具有更多的有效资源以支持MBMS传输。因此,在所述时刻,期望使该小区传输大量的MBMS数据。对于另一个在同一时间间隙的小区而言,支持相同MBMS带宽的资源可能无法利用。因此,期望在小区间替MBMS传输做不同的调度以更有效利用所述资源。当MBMS用户在小区间移动时,用户移动进入的新小区的传输不是在其它小区的传输之前就是之后。因此,MBMS用户可能错过MBMS数据或接收无用多余的MBMS数据。
因此,期望使MBMS具有较佳的资源利用。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种用以在无线通信系统中传输多媒体广播/组播服务(MBMS)的方法,该方法包括:确定在小区中接收所述MBMS的用户数量;使用被确定的用户数量来确定是专用信道还是共享/公共信道将被用于所述MBMS;接收MBMS数据;以及将所述MBMS数据映射至所确定的专用信道或共享/公共信道。
本发明还提供了一种无线电网络控制器,该无线电网络控制器包括:输入装置,被配置成接收多媒体广播/组播服务(MBMS)数据;以及MBMS信道切换装置,被配置成确定所述MBMS数据是否应当被映射至特定小区的专用信道或共享/公共信道并将所述MBMS数据映射至所述特定小区的所确定的信道上,所述所确定的信道基于所述特定小区的接收所述MBMS的用户数量。

具体实施方式
虽然优选实施方式结合第三代合作伙伴计划(3GPP)宽带码分多址(W-CDMA)系统进行说明,但所述实施方式也适用于任何使用MBMS的无线系统。下文中,无线发射/接收单元(WTRU)包括但不局限于用户装备、移动站、固定或移动用户单元、呼叫器或任何形式可在无线环境下操作的装置。
图1是MBMS信道切换的流程图。在特定小区中,预定所述服务的WTRU的数量被确定或被估计,步骤20。通常地,所述信息是已知的。使用在该小区和/或其它小区信息中的WTRU的数量、例如小区状态、可利用的小区资源等等之类的信息,是否使用专用信道或公共/共享信道或使用所述两者的选择被作出,步骤22。在信道选择作出之后,MBMS数据被映射至对应的信道,步骤24。一种用于确定何种类型的信道被使用的可能的方法是阈值测试。如果WTRU在小区中的数量在某阈值数量之下,则使用专用信道。所述专用信道允许功率控制并且会利用传输分集技术。当高数据速率MBMS传输产生时,非常期望利用这些技术以有效地使用可利用的资源。
如果WTRU数量超出所述阈值,则使用公共/共享信道,例如共享信道、高速共享信道或辅公共控制物理信道(S-CCPCH)。共享信道或高速共享信道能被用来同时传输MBMS数据给多个WTRU。S-CCPCH则能被用来广播MBMS数据给多个用户。通常地,所述共享/公共信道具有较低的无线电资源效率。
在替换实施方式中,可以使用两个阈值的方案。如果在小区中预定MBMS的WTRU的数量在第一阈值之下,则使用专用信道。如果所述数量在第一阈值与第二阈值之间,则使用共享或高速共享信道。如果所述数量超过第二阈值,则使用公共信道来广播MBMS。
在某些状况下,可能会较渴望使用共享信道和专用信道以支持MBMS。为了说明,多个使用的WTRU可能会定位在一起,例如在站点(train station)处,而少数或单个WTRU可能在所述站点之外。在此情况下,小区资源最有效的使用以支持MBMS可能是分配共享信道给所述站点处的WTRU,而分配专用信道给其它的WTRU。当在小区中用户的数量改变,小区状态改变或信道选择会周期性地重复使用新信息,步骤26。
图2是用以执行信道切换的优选的无线电接入网络(RAN)的图示。该RAN是由管理用户服务的服务网络控制器(S-RNC)30以及管理小区的物理资源的控制无线电网络控制器(C-RNC)34所管理的。提供S-RNC 30与C-RNC 34之间的协调以使RAN适当地操作的信令过程被使用。
信道切换实体(MBMS信道切换装置36)确定使用哪个信道以用于MBMS传输,例如专用信道、共享信道或公共信道,并协调WTRU 401至40N(40)的MBMS接收。MBMS数据则通过节点B 38被发送至WTRU 40。
信道切换的优选实施方式如下所述。预定MBMS的第一WTRU 40能相对于MBMS服务的激活及分布而自动地进入和离开小区。当MBMS首先为该第一WTRU 40或少数在特定小区内的用户而建立时,专用信道以用于识别MBMS服务的唯一的无线电链路(RL)指示符而建立。希望使用另一MBMS的第二WTRU 40将具有分派给用户的不同的专用信道。当RL为每个用户而建立,唯一的MBMS指示符从S-RNC 30以信号发送至C-RNC 34。该MBMS指示符对于被提供给用户的每一服务而言都是唯一的。该C-RNC34维护对于特定MBMS服务当前有效的所有用户的数据库,且该组被认知为MBMS用户群。
每一有效的MBMS服务的数据会由核心网络28通过MBMS数据流分配给C-RNC 34。唯一标识符与每一允许C-RNC 34关联数据与合适的用户或用户群的MBMS数据流相关联连,以使所述数据能被合适地路由。根据特定MBMS服务的有效用户数量及小区状态,C-RNC 34将确定是否服务应当在专用或共享/公共信道上进行传输。
由于个别用户自动地进入或离开所述小区,专用信道与公共信道之间的切换是动态的且可能在不间断进行的传输期间发生。动态切换能被应用于下行链路共享信道(DSCH)。数据能在DSCH上发送以被涉及专用DSCH(C-DSCH)的单一用户接收或同时被涉及公共DSCH(C-DSCH)的多个用户接收。对特定MBMS来说,当仅有一个用户或少数用户存在于小区内,对所述一个用户或多个用户来说,DSCH将成为D-DSCH。而当与特定MBMS相关联的用户数量增加,可为该MBMS用户组建立C-DSCH。
当第一WTRU 40在小区中成为有效的,D-DSCH对于该第一用户建立。MBMS传输可能不需要连续处于有效状态。在DSCH上MBMS的传输会被指示给在相关联的专用信道上的第一WTRU 40。所述指示可在传输时间间隔(TTI)的基础上被开启或关闭。
C-DSCH可能实质上与D-DSCH等同。然而,不同之处在于,与位于MBMS用户组中的专用信道相关联的独立用户的DSCH传输信令是同步传输。这允许MBMS用户组中的所有用户接收公共DSCH传输。随同MBMS传输一起以信号发送指示,以用于指示MBMS传输专用于特定用户或公共于MBMS用户组中的用户。这允许功率控制技术的适当操作、发射分集或任何其它唯一的物理传输特性。优选地,专用DSCH与公共DSCH之间的MBMS转换对于WTRU 40是清楚的。
在另一实施方式中,信道切换被应用于高速DSCH(HS-DSCH)。使用HS-DSCH来取代DSCH的差异在于,同步分配被提供于节点B 38中的HS-DSCH控制信道上,而并非将同步分配应用于相关联的专用信道上的C-RNC 34中。
在又一实施方式中,切换可以在不使用相关联的专用信道的情况下在专用物理信道与公共物理信道之间执行。专用信道与公共信道之间的信道切换被显式地以信号发送给每个用户。RAN层3协议允许以信号发送无线电帧的过程以在专用信号与公共信道之间转换。所述信号发送是通过以信号发送无线电帧以进行转换或通过以信号发送传输调度信息来执行的。
图3与图4为允许不同小区和不同小区间MBMS传输以不同顺序来调度的流程图。为了说明起见,第一小区能够在无线电帧内传输大量MBMS数据至WTRU 40,而第二小区不能。由此,在第一小区内的MBMS传输可能超前第二小区以一个或多个无线电帧或TTI。
为了说明小区间,在小区之中,一组用户可能位于站点中并由公共DSCH服务,而在同一小区中的其它用户处于所述站点之外并由专用信道或专用DSCH服务,以充分利用波束成形及功率控制。根据DSCH负荷和其它因素,站点WTRU 40的传输领先或落后外部WTRU的传输是令人满意的。如果外部WTRU 40的用户转向所述站点,最有可能期望将WTRU 40转换至公共DSCH,并解除专用信道。在这种情况下,外部WTRU 40可能需要赶上公共DSCH上的传输,或是允许所述传输赶上WTRU 40已接收到的分段。
为了维持持续的服务分配并更有效率地使用无线电资源,MBMS传输优选地被分段或被调度,以使用户在任何情况下都能接收MBMS服务传送的元素。因此,MBMS服务传输并不需要在用户进入小区后在小区中进行再次初始化,且用户也不需要等待与现有的MBMS服务传输进行同步。
图3是使用频带内分段信息来控制小区内或小区间的不同MBMS传送顺序的流程图。随着MBMS传输,分段信息与MBMS数据一起被发送,步骤42。该分段信息典型地包含分段标识符,由此每个接收WTRU都能意识到其接收到哪个分段。当特定WTRU在MBMS发射源间移动时(在小区或切换信道之间),步骤44,WTRU能从新的MBMS源接收分段,并重组所述传输以恢复所有的MBMS数据,步骤46。
图5是接收不同的MBMS传输的WTRU 40的简化框图。WTRU 40使用天线54来接收MBMS传输。MBMS接收机56从不同发射源接收MBMS传输,其中包含了频带内分段信息。分段信息恢复装置58用以恢复分段信息。使用分段信息及接收到的MBMS分段,MBMS分段重组装置60重组分段以恢复MBMS数据。
图4是使用频带外传输调度信息来控制不同MBMS传输顺序的流程图。WTRU从特定源接收MBMS传输,步骤48。WTRU也接收频带外调度信息,步骤50。当WTRU移动至不同的源,WTRU能从新的源接收MBMS数据,并使用该源的频带外调度数据来重组MBMS接收分段,步骤52。
图6是用于接收不同MBMS传输的WTRU 40的简化框图。WTRU 40使用天线54接收MBMS传输。MBMS接收机64从不同发射源接收MBMS传输。频带外同步信息装置62从多个发射源接收同步信息。使用同步信息及接收到的MBMS分段,MBMS分段重组装置66重组所述分段以恢复MBMS数据。
图3及图4的方法都允许位于小区内的用户仅在专用信道与公共信道之间进行转换,而不需中断或延迟MBMS传输。此外,即使新小区与旧小区之间的传输顺序不同,进入小区的WTRU仍能持续接收MBMS的服务。一旦MBMS传输数据被接收,WTRU将依据频带内分段和/或频带外传输调度信息来重排序信息。
由于提供了频带内分段或频带外调度,遗失或失败的传输能够通过WTRU关于何时期望重传的认知而被有效地恢复。RNC MBMS重传调度也能通过考虑WTRU的接收而被降低。进一步地说,如果RNC知道所有用户都接收到特定MBMS分段,则分段的重传就能被避免。

Claims (16)

1.一种用以在无线通信系统中传输多媒体广播/组播服务MBMS的方法,该方法包括:
无线电网络控制器RNC确定在小区中接收MBMS服务的数据的用户数量;
所述RNC使用被确定的用户数量以及小区状态信息来确定是专用信道还是共享/公共信道将被用于所述MBMS服务;
所述RNC接收MBMS数据;
所述RNC将所述MBMS数据映射至所确定的专用信道或共享/公共信道;
第一发射源传送所述MBMS数据和带内分段信息到无线发射/接收单元WTRU,其中所述分段信息包括数据分段标识符;
所述WTRU从第二发射源接收MBMS数据和分段信息,其中来自所述第一发射源的数据和来自所述第二发射源的数据是以不同的顺序接收的;以及
所述WTRU基于从所述第一发射源和所述第二发射源接收的分段信息来重组所述MBMS数据。
2.根据权利要求l所述的方法,其中所述被确定的专用信道或共享/公共信道至少基于阈值测试,其中在所述被确定的用户数量低于阈值的情况下,专用信道被用于所述MBMS服务,并且在所述被确定的用户数量高于所述阈值的情况下,共享/公共信道被用于所述MBMS服务。

8.一种用以传输多媒体广播/组播服务MBMS的无线通信系统,该无线通信系统包括:
无线电网络控制器RNC,被配置成:
接收MBMS数据;
所述RNC被配置成确定所述MBMS数据是应当被映射至小区的专用信道还是共享/公共信道并将所述MBMS数据映射至所述小区的所确定的信道,其中所述所确定的信道基于所述小区的接收所述MBMS数据的用户数量以及小区状态信息;
