Description

用于将盖材密封到容器上的装置和方法
技术领域
本发明涉及用于将盖材(lidstock)密封到容器上以形成泡罩包装、尤其是用于隐形眼镜的一次性泡罩包装的方法。本发明还涉及用于存储亲水性隐形眼镜的包装。
背景技术
自从20世纪70年代首次出现以来,软的水凝胶隐形眼镜逐渐得到广泛发展。这种隐形眼镜传统上在含水状态下包装在存储溶液中。当前,很多隐形眼镜连同水存储溶液包装在一次性泡罩包装中,这种包装通常由用盖材密封的刚性聚合物容器形成。这种泡罩包装的例子可以参见美国专利4691820、5524419、5578331、5649410、5722536、6082533以及WO2006/032829。形成泡罩包装的基部的容器可以是原始隐形眼镜模具的一部分或者是单独的模制基部,通常由刚性聚合物形成。在上面提到的包装类型中,保持隐形眼镜以及任何水存储溶液的容器通过柔性盖材密封。这种盖材通常是层压箔,其可以被使用者向后拉,以获取容纳在容器的泡罩中的隐形眼镜。通常,这种盖材被密封到容器的顶面的环绕着泡罩的区域或凸缘上。容器的该密封区域通常是大致平坦的表面区域,或者是凸起的平坦环形表面,例如美国专利5722536所示。本发明方法所应用的优选泡罩包装在WO2006/032829中公开。
为了方便使用者将盖材从包装中除去,容器的顶面设有与包装的顶面上的密封凸缘间隔开的唇缘。盖材在该唇缘的一部分上未被密封,以提供一个指撕部,使得使用者可以抓住唇缘上方未连接的盖材且利用该部分从包装的其余部分撕扯盖材,以获取泡罩的内容物。
因为盖材并不密封唇缘,在处理和为一次性泡罩包装提供二级包装时会有问题,因为盖材的该未连接部分往往会意外地从唇缘向后折叠。
在泡罩周围形成密闭密封之前将盖材可靠地定位在容器上方也有问题,因为在密封之前盖材会随着包装在自动包装机的不同工位之间移动而错位。
发明内容
根据本发明的第一方面,提供了一种用于将盖材热密封到用于泡罩包装的容器上的方法,所述容器具有顶面,所述顶面包括环绕着泡罩的大致平坦的密封凸缘、和唇缘,所述方法包括步骤:
a)将所述盖材定位在所述顶面上;
b)通过第一热密封工具在所述盖材与所述唇缘的一部分之间提供第一密封;以及
c)通过第二热密封工具在所述盖材与环绕着所述泡罩的所述密封凸缘之间提供第二密闭密封。
所述第一密封不是在整个唇缘上,而是仅在所述唇缘的一部分上,使得使用者仍可抓住所述盖材的未密封部分,以方便将所述盖材从所述包装去除。
所述第一密封具有的优势在于,在移动到用于所述泡罩的内容物的密闭密封的第二密封工位之前,所述盖材在其设置之后即保持就位。还产生的优势在于,在所述包装的随后处理过程中,所述盖材的未密封部分不太容易意外向后折叠。
所述方法的特别的优势在于,所述唇缘具有弯曲上表面,所述弯曲上表面相对于所述密封凸缘向下弯曲,以便在使用者打开所述泡罩包装时提供抓取表面。在随后的制造工艺步骤过程中,所述第一密封使所述盖材就位在所述唇缘的所述弯曲上表面上方,但并不降低所述泡罩包装被使用者打开的容易程度,因为在所述唇缘上方仍然存在所述盖材的未密封区域供使用者抓取。
所述容器合适地由刚性聚合物模制,例如由诸如聚丙烯或聚苯乙烯的热塑性聚合物模制。所述容器包括用于保持待包装的材料、例如具有水溶液的软隐形眼镜的空腔或泡罩,且具有绕着所述空腔的凸缘,所述盖材被密封到所述凸缘上以形成密封包装。所述凸缘可以简单地是所述包装本身的所述顶面的一部分,或者可以成环绕着所述空腔且设在所述包装的所述顶面上的凸起区域的形式。所述凸缘的所述密封表面可以是环圈的上表面的全部或者一部分,只要所述密封表面环绕着所述泡罩,使得当形成密封时所述泡罩的内容物被密闭密封即可。
所述容器可从平的聚合物片开始制造,然后可简单地被模制以形成空腔,使环绕着所述泡罩的其余顶面作为所述空腔的凸缘。
所述容器可以是更为复杂的模制件,例如像WO97/28716或WO2006/032829中公开的那样,其中,所述容器设有多个腿且具有向着所述容器的表面的一端的泡罩以及向着所述容器的表面的另一端的大致平坦的唇缘区域。优选地,所述容器是在WO2006/032829中公开的容器。
优选地,所述容器的所述唇缘向下弯曲,适当地从所述凸缘附近开始平滑弯曲,且向着远离所述密封凸缘的所述唇缘的边缘终止。所述唇缘可以设有多个曲面,例如具有一个以上的相互正交的曲率半径。不管是平的还是弯曲的,所述唇缘还可以设有孔或者切口,用以在使用者希望打开所述泡罩包装时方便从下面通过所述孔或切口推动来使所述盖材从所述唇缘抬起。
所述第一密封适合处于与所述密封凸缘间隔开且与所述唇缘的边缘间隔开的部分处,使得仍然有盖材的未连接部分邻近所述唇缘的所述边缘以用作指撕部,从而允许使用者抓住所述未连接部分方便所述容器的打开。
优选地,所述第一密封的断裂强度低于所述第二密封的断裂强度。如果所述第一密封的断裂强度大于所述第二密封的断裂强度,当打开所述容器时会很难进行控制,有可能导致内容物意外溢出。因此,有利地,如果第一密封的断裂强度小于第二密封的断裂强度以防止这种溢出,需要使用者增加所施加的力,以在所述第一密封破裂之后打开所述第二密封。所述密封强度的差别可以通过在形成所述第一密封中比在形成所述第二密封中施加更低的压力和/或温度和/或接触时间来实现。
所述第一密封仅是将所述盖材的该部分定位到所述凸缘上的手段,它不需要是密闭密封。
为了方便撕裂所述第一密封,优选所述第一密封包括一个或多个相互间隔开的点焊部。“点焊部”该术语意指成小点形式的焊接部,适合采用10mm2或者更小的面积,优选为7mm2或更小,更优选为5mm2或更小。为了容易撕裂且使所述盖材可靠地在所述唇缘上保持在位,优选所述第一密封包括至少两个相互间隔开的点焊部,优选包括两个相互间隔开的点焊部。
所述第一密封可设置在包装线的第一工位,所述第二密封设置在包装线的第二工位。优选地,所述第一密封设置在与所述盖材放置或定位在所述包装的所述顶面上的工位相同的工位,使得在随后移动中所述盖材移位的危险减小。所述包装线优选为自动包装线。
为了使形成所述第一密封,当所述容器的所述唇缘具有向下弯曲表面时,优选所述第一密封工具包括密封板,所述密封板适于在所述唇缘的所述弯曲表面上方以切向接触所述盖材,以提供所述第一密封。所述密封板可以是平板,或者可以设有局部加热部分,以便为所述第一密封提供点焊部。
优选地,所述第一密封工具绕着诸如轴或铰链的枢转部件旋转,以使其在所述唇缘的所述凸起表面上方与所述盖材接触形成所述第一密封。这允许所述第一密封的布置和形成在单个工位方便地进行。
所述第一热密封工具的密封板优选设有温度传感器,藉此,在所述第一密封形成期间所述密封板的温度可以被监测或控制。这有助于对所述第一密封的断裂强度进行控制。
用于形成将盖材密闭地密封到容器的密封凸缘上的所述第二密封的第二密封工具合适地具有下表面和上表面,所述下表面在所述凸缘正下方支撑所述容器,所述上表面将盖材抵靠着密封所述包装的所述凸缘的表面的表面挤压。通常,所述上表面至少在所述密封区域被加热,用以通过将所述盖材的基底热塑性层熔化来为所述环圈的所述密封表面提供密封。
根据本发明方法的优选实施例,所述方法的步骤(b)包括在所述盖材与设置在所述容器的所述唇缘上的至少一个凸起表面之间提供第一密封的步骤。
因此,所述第一密封仅在所述唇缘的至少一个凸起表面处形成。本发明的方法具有优势在于,其需要所述第一密封工具所处的温度低于以前所需的温度,因此延长了工具的操作寿命。而且,本发明的方法使得在所述第一密封形成期间所述盖材的外观损坏最小。
理想地,所述至少一个凸起表面与所述容器一体形成。
优选地,所述唇缘具有相互间隔开的凸起表面。
在唇缘上设置所述凸起表面产生的优势在于,在第一密封操作期间,对所述盖材层压箔的外观损坏最小,因为所述第一热密封工具使得与最小表面面积接触,也就是说仅仅接触所述唇缘上的凸起表面。这使得能够减小所述第一密封操作所需的操作温度,并因此改善所述第一热密封工具的操作寿命。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供了一种用于存储亲水隐形眼镜的包装,包括:
基部,所述基部具有顶面、和在所述顶面具有周界的用于存储亲水隐形眼镜的凹入空腔,所述顶面包括环绕着所凹入空腔的大致平坦的密封凸缘、和具有至少一个凸起表面的唇缘;以及可移除的盖材,所述盖材密封到所述密封凸缘上和所述唇缘的所述至少一个凸起表面上。
优选地,所述唇缘具有两个相互间隔开的凸起表面。所述唇缘的所述凸起表面提供的优势与前面针对本发明的第一方面所描述的优势相同。
优选地,所述容器的所述唇缘向下弯曲,适当地从所述凸缘附近开始平滑弯曲,且向着远离所述密封凸缘的所述唇缘的边缘终止。所述唇缘可以设有多个曲面,例如具有一个以上的相互正交的曲率半径。不管是平的还是弯曲的,所述唇缘还可以设有孔或者切口,用以在使用者希望打开所述泡罩包装时方便从下面通过所述孔或切口推动来使所述盖材从所述唇缘抬起。

在又一方面,本发明提供了一种用于将盖材热密封到用于泡罩包装的容器上的密封装置,所述密封装置包括用于支撑至少一个密封表面的支撑臂,所述装置还包括用于加热的装置。
优选地,所述至少一个密封表面包括细长密封表面,所述细长密封表面包括沿着所述细长密封表面设置的多个间隔开的槽,从而限定了多个密封表面。
理想地,多个加热的表面中的每一个都包括单独的加热装置,用于单独加热所述多个密封表面中的每一个。

具体实施方式
首先,参看图1和图2,容器的第一实施例总体上以附图标记1表示。容器1的顶面设有泡罩2,泡罩在第二密封所在处被密封凸缘3环绕着。容器的唇缘4向下弯曲,且设有孔5。如图2所示,第一密封由两个点焊部6形成。
图2示出了容器1具有腿7、8,例如设置在WO97/28716和WO2006/032829中描述的容器上的腿。盖材9位于容器1的顶面上方。图1中示出了第一热密封工具11,且具有在弯曲唇缘4上方与盖材9接触的密封板10,以便于形成两个点焊部6,所述点焊部在第一实施例中提供了第一密封。第一热密封工具包括两个单独的电加热元件(未示出),用于形成两个点焊部6。设在密封板10上的两个定标点10a用于形成点焊部6。第一热密封工具11具有枢轴14,整个工具可以通过气缸或伺服马达绕着该枢轴旋转,且第一热密封工具还设有加热器12和传感器13,所述传感器13用于监测密封板处的温度。
使用时,通过气缸或伺服马达,第一热密封工具从远离容器的备用位置绕着枢轴14沿方向A旋转,直到被加热器12加热的热密封板10与盖材10接触,以形成包括两个点焊部6的第一密封。在预定时间以后,第一热密封工具此时转动返回其备用位置。然后,包装重新部署到形成第二密封的下一工位。
现在参看图3、4、5、6、7、8和8a,示出了容器的第二实施例,其中,第一密封以另一种可选的方式形成。在该第二实施例中的容器总体上以附图标记21表示。类似的特征以类似的附图标记表示。
容器21包括两个凸起表面26、26’,它们一体式地形成在容器21上。凸起表面26、26’的面积为近似2mm2。容器21和两个凸起表面26、26’理想地由塑料形成,优选由聚丙烯形成。
在图3中,示出了第一热密封工具11’,且具有在设在弯曲唇缘24上的两个凸起表面26上方与盖材29接触的平坦密封板10’,以形成第一密封。第一热密封工具11’具有枢轴14’,整个工具可以通过气缸或伺服马达绕着该枢轴沿箭头A的方向A1、A2以弧形运动旋转。第一热密封工具11’设有用于加热密封板10’的加热元件12’、和用于监测密封板10’的温度的温度传感器13’。
使用时,通过伺服马达,第一热密封工具从远离容器的备用位置绕着枢轴14’沿箭头A的方向A2旋转,直到被加热元件12’加热的热密封板10’在两个凸起表面26、26’上方与盖材29接触,以形成第一密封。第一密封工具在唇缘24的弯曲表面上的两个凸起表面26、26’的切线方向给盖材的两个点区域施加轴向力。盖材的上述两个点区域是位于容器21的唇缘24上的两个凸起表面26、26’正上方的区域。因此,第一密封工具通过向盖材的两个相互分离的点区域施加热量形成第一密封,在密封过程中,盖材被夹在密封板10’和唇缘24上的两个凸起区域26、26’之间。通过密封板10’施加的热量使两个凸起表面26、26’至少部分熔化,并且熔化的塑料在盖材和容器21之间形成密封。因此,凸起表面26、26’从其(至少部分)熔化以在盖材和容器21之间形成第一密封而没有失去唇缘24的本体的任何部分且没有对容器21的外观造成任何损害的角度上讲,两个凸起表面26、26’是“牺牲的”。当在传感器13’监测的设定温度下达到预期压力和时间时,热密封工具沿箭头A2的方向的弧形运动停止,且在预定时间以后,第一热密封工具然后移回到其备用位置。容器21然后转移到形成第二密封的下一工位。

加热元件55纵向装配通过热定标头52。热电偶56也包括在该组件中。装置50还包括两个绝缘体58,热定标头52的每侧分别设有一个绝缘体58。装置50还包括四个平头螺栓59,用于将两个绝缘体58紧固在热定标头52上。装置50还包括线圈电缆保持器60、垫片61、两个销钉62、四个螺栓63以及簧环64(优选由不锈钢制成)。
热定标头52包括多个(在该优选实施例中是四个)间隔开的槽53,它们横跨热定标头52设置,藉此限定多个定标头密封表面52a、52b、52c、52d和52e。
这些定标头密封表面52a、52b、52c、52d和52e中的每一个都提供热密封板,使得装置50可以用于在多个容器1上的多个盖材上形成以一列形式形成的第一密封。通过使用支撑臂来控制密封表面52a、52b、52c、52d和52e的定位,五个密封表面52a、52b、52c、52d和52e中的每一个的位置被精确定位在包括一列布置的五个容器1的上方。
现在参看图10和10a,示出了密封装置的可选实施例。相似的附图标记用于描述相似的部件。该实施例中的密封装置总体上以附图标记70表示。图10和10a中示出的密封装置70与图9、9a中示出的密封装置50的区别在于,装置70的热定标头72包括凸起肩部71,肩部包括多个用作散热器的孔。
装置50与装置70之间的另一个区别在于,定标头52上的环55替换为肩部71上的孔75,销74可以插入该孔75。
应该理解,本发明并不限于上面仅仅通过例子给出的具体细节,在不脱离权利要求书限定的本发明范围的情况下,可做出多种修改和变化。

Claims (29)

1.一种用于将盖材热密封到用于泡罩包装的容器上的方法,所述容器具有顶面,所述顶面包括环绕着泡罩的大致平坦的密封凸缘、和唇缘,所述方法包括步骤:
a)将所述盖材定位在所述顶面上;
b)通过第一热密封工具在所述盖材与所述唇缘的一部分之间提供第一密封;以及
c)通过第二热密封工具在所述盖材与环绕着所述泡罩的所述密封凸缘之间提供第二密闭密封。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述唇缘具有至少一个凸起表面,且在步骤(b),所述方法包括在所述盖材与所述唇缘上的所述至少一个凸起表面之间提供所述第一密封。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于,所述至少一个凸起表面包括大致三角形表面。
4.根据权利要求2或3所述的方法,其特征在于,所述唇缘具有两个相互间隔开的凸起表面。
5.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述唇缘具有弯曲上表面,所述弯曲上表面相对于所述密封凸缘向下弯曲。
6.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述盖材是层压箔,所述层压箔包括金属层和基底热塑性聚合物层。
7.根据权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于,所述基底热塑性聚合物层是聚丙烯。
8.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一密封与所述密封凸缘间隔开且与所述唇缘的边缘间隔开。
9.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一密封包括一个或多个相互间隔开的点焊部。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一密封包括两个相互间隔开的点焊部。
11.根据权利要求9或10所述的方法,其特征在于,每个点焊部的面积是10mm2或更少。
12.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,在形成所述第一密封中施加的压力和/或温度和/或接触时间小于在形成所述第二密封中施加的压力和/或温度和/或接触时间。
13.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一密封的断裂强度小于所述第二密封的断裂强度。
14.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述泡罩包装用于隐形眼镜。
15.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一密封位于包装线的第一工位,所述第二密封位于所述包装线的第二工位。
16.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一热密封工具包括用于提供所述第一密封的密封板,所述密封板适于在所述唇缘的所述凸起表面上方与所述盖材以切线方向接触,以提供所述第一密封。
17.根据权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,所述第一热密封工具绕着枢转部件旋转,以使得所述密封板在所述唇缘的所述凸起表面上方与所述盖材接触,从而提供所述第一密封。
18.根据权利要求16或17所述的方法,其特征在于,所述密封板设有温度传感器,借此在第一密封形成过程中的温度可被监测和/或控制。
19.根据权利要求1-3中任一所述的方法,其特征在于,所述唇缘的所述凸起表面是聚丙烯的。
20.一种用于存储亲水隐形眼镜的包装,包括:
基部,所述基部具有顶面、和在所述顶面具有周界的用于存储亲水隐形眼镜的凹入空腔,所述顶面包括环绕着所凹入空腔的大致平坦的密封凸缘、和具有至少一个凸起表面的唇缘;以及可移除的盖材,所述盖材密封到所述密封凸缘上和所述唇缘的所述至少一个凸起表面上。
21.根据权利要求20所述的包装,其特征在于,所述唇缘具有两个相互间隔开的凸起表面。
22.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,所述唇缘具有弯曲上表面,所述弯曲上表面相对于所述密封凸缘向下弯曲。
23.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,所述唇缘包括孔眼。
24.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,每个所述凸起表面的面积是10mm2或更少。
25.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,所述基部是可热变形的聚丙烯聚合物。
26.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,所述盖材是层压箔,所述层压箔包括金属层和基底热塑性聚合物层。
27.根据权利要求26所述的包装,其特征在于,所述基底热塑性聚合物层是聚丙烯。
28.根据权利要求20或21的包装,其特征在于,它还包括亲水隐形眼镜、和容纳在所凹入空腔中的水溶液。
29.根据权利要求20或21所述的包装,其特征在于,它是用于隐形眼镜的泡罩包装。
