Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及新型紫外线吸收化合物,其本身是液体,且色度低(这样可以在透明、无色应用中不需要同时加入大量其它着色剂以抗任何褪色),并在以前对于低色度紫外线吸收剂的努力已经失败的波长范围内可以高度有效地提供防护。这样的化合物在包括但是不限于透明热塑性材料的各种介质中提供优异、价廉和有益的抗紫外线暴露保护。这种化合物具体是本身聚合的,其中包括各种链长的聚氧化烯,且本身是液体,以利于操作和引入目标介质中。此外,这样的紫外线吸收剂也具有极低的迁移性能,从而具有为目标介质提供长期保护的优点。本发明也涉及最终产品,可提供这样有益特性的特别广泛定义的化合物类型。
背景技术
本说明书引用的所有美国专利在此全部引为参考。
紫外线吸收剂化合物已经用于大量的保护性用途,包括在涂在皮肤上的组合物内,在衣服和其它类型织物表面和内部,在透明塑料容器内等,以抵抗在紫外光谱中某些波长光的有害和可降解作用。最熟悉的紫外线吸收剂是苯并三唑,可购自Ciba,商品名Tinuvin和二苯甲酮,可购自Cytec Industries,商品名CyasorbTM。这些化合物的紫外吸收剂能力是高度有效的;然而,它们相当昂贵,可以证明在不同目标介质内难以结合,并且趋于从某些类型的介质(例如塑料)中迁移出来。并且,这两种众所周知的紫外线吸收剂存在操作上的困难,因为它们通常以粉末的形式被生产和应用,并具有相对低的熔点。特别是,在塑料介质内这些化合物的粉末形式是有问题的;而液体的操作要容易得多,不要求熔融,并且可以在整个目标塑料提供更有效和完全的混合。此外,这些先前采用的紫外线吸收剂只在相对窄的波长范围内提供紫外线保护(对于苯并三唑λmax约290至约375nm;对于二苯甲酮λmax从260至340nm),这就留下了未被保护的UV暴露的潜在伤害的范围(至约400nm)。为了在这样广泛的波长范围提供潜在的保护,增加这种UV吸收剂化合物的量的努力是无效,更不用说这样大量的UV吸收剂增加了在目标透明塑料和其它类似应用中产生不必要的着色,以致必须相对大量地使用掩蔽化合物(例如上蓝剂)以抵抗褪色影响。因此,需要提供高度有效的,具有可结合于或应用于各种不同介质和基质中的通用性,或者能够提供在约290至约400nm的UV光谱波长范围内(为了提供最好的全面保护,以免受暴露于UV的可能的伤害和/或降解)保护的液体紫外线吸收剂。
基于次甲基的化合物,尤其是如在L′Oreal SA的欧洲专利摘要350-386-A中的某些丙二酸衍生物,可在化妆品遮光剂组合物中用作UV吸收剂,通常制造成本低,并在280至约360nm的光谱提供UV保护。然而,这种化合物高度可溶于有机溶剂,并因此一向固体组合物例如塑料中中引入,就容易从中迁移出来。因此,虽然在塑料中使用有效的UV吸收剂,例如丙二酸衍生物可能是高度理想的,但由于在从这种基于丙二酸来源生产这种稳定和高度有效的UV吸收组合物的高度困难,在现有的UV吸收剂技术中这从来没有被教导也没有被清楚地建议过。那么,需要生产在例如热塑性材料和类似物介质中(如上指出的)具有必需的保持能力,并因此提供必需的和期望的暴露于UV而降解的保护的廉价UV吸收剂。
对于某些聚合介质(例如聚酯)的紫外线防护的进一步研发已经包括基于次甲基的化合物,其在这些热塑性材料的低萃取方面是有效的,但必须在基础热塑性聚合物本身的实际聚合反应期间被引入。例如,Pruett等人的美国专利第4,617,374号教导了用于聚酯最终用途的这种UV吸收剂。此外,除非在聚合步骤中与酯单体一起作为将被聚合的反应物本身被加入,这样的化合物具有非常高的萃取结果。在这样的例子中,这些UV吸收剂实际上被结合在聚合物中,而不仅是混合在热塑性介质中。因而,虽然当聚合在目标聚酯时这样的化合物显示出优异的结果,然而因为有效引入的时间仅是上述的聚合过程,因此这些化合物在它们的通用性上受到限制。这样仍然需要提供用于热塑性材料最终用途的更通用的UV吸收剂,以便制造商能够在目标热塑性材料生产期间的任何时间内引入UV吸收剂,以致添加剂不呈现这样高的萃取,并且还仍然提供优异的UV吸收性能。
现在已经发现通过将聚氧化烯链加入到某些紫外线吸收化合物中,为这种新UV吸收剂的潜在用途提供了的更大通用性,尤其在如上所述所需的低萃取方面。因此,已经发现这样的聚氧烯化化合物(不是为了限制本发明的范围,例如使用香草醛和4-羟基苯甲醛作为起始材料的那些基于次甲基的化合物)提供了在宽光谱(λmax约280至约400nm,更优选约320nm至约400nm)内可以高度有效地过滤有害UV-A和UV-B射线的UV吸收剂。并且,已经发现与苯并三唑和/或羟基二苯甲酮或者其它相似类型的UV吸收剂化合物结合,所得到的组合物由此可以保护免受大量潜在有害的UV辐射(从大约250至约400nm)。此外,这样的结合在期望的介质中高度稳定,并因此提供对储存在目的处理的塑料制品中的期望样品的长期保护。这种化合物当根据某些方法制备时,最值得注意地是用某些烷氧基化催化剂,包括但是不限于单独使用金属氢氧化物和其它碱,在胺基烷氧基化催化剂(尤其是对可得质子具有亲合性),以及稀土磷酸盐的存在下,例如在美国专利第5,057,627、5,057,628、5,059,719、5,118,870、5,208,199号中教导的那些,提供在无色(清澈和透明)应用,例如期望的透明塑料中有效应用的基础,同时提供需要的有效UV保护。
虽然已经证实了在某些基于次甲基的UV吸收剂化合物(即L′Oreal的丙二酸衍生物)中的一些重要性,因为在某些介质(例如塑料)或者在其它表面(例如皮肤、织物),或者在其它应用(例如墨水等)中的能力,迄今为止还没有任何关于使用这种聚氧烯化衍生物UV吸收剂的公开或清楚的启示。特别是,没有公开涉及可提供有效保护免受在约320至约400nm波长的UV暴露的低色度、低萃取(迁移)的聚氧烯化UV吸收剂化合物。这样在UV吸收剂市场,最特别是在透明塑料膜和容器市场(用于存储和保护食品、药丸等),极大地需要与相对价廉的材料,和通过本发明的聚氧烯化基于次甲基的UV吸收剂化合物提供的方法相关的这些改进。
对于某些塑料(热塑性、热固性等)的应用,已经开发或者改进了其它紫外线吸收化合物和组合物,例如上述可从Ciba购得的名称为Tinuvin的一类已知化合物。虽然这种化合物看来对塑料本身和任何用其制成的容器内储存的任何液体、固体等提供非常好的紫外线保护,但不幸地是这类化合物具有不期望的或者有问题的缺陷。特别是,用这样的化合物在UV光谱内保护的范围通常限于约320至约375nm。因此,它们通常不提供在整个UV波长范围对塑料包装的内容物的适当UV保护。并且,这样的Tinuvin型化合物通常本身是固体,因此作为固体粉末被分散在目标树脂中,或者为了有效必须在非常靠近分散的时间由最终用户分散在液体中。如果任何这样的Tinuvin型UV吸收剂实际是液体,根据波长范围它们仍然在它们的UV保护宽度上受限制。最后,这样的Tinuvin化合物具有相对高的萃取水平和从目标塑料树脂,特别是如聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯的热塑性材料中迁移的特性。因此,虽然这样的化合物在一定程度上对于UV保护是有效的,但是具有高度期望和必需改进的大量缺点。迄今为止,仍极大地需要提供消除上述缺陷的有效UV吸收剂。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是提供新型的低色度、低热塑性材料迁移(例如低萃取)的紫外线吸收化合物,并且其在室温下以其纯的未稀释态存在时是液体,并在宽达至少390nm的波长范围内提供UV保护。本发明进一步的目的是可以用在各种介质和在不同基质中作为有效UV过滤的化合物,或者在适合的组合物中用于保护免受潜在的有害紫外线的聚合UV吸收剂。本发明进一步的目的是提供一种基于次甲基的UV吸收剂,其可提供透明塑料制品。本发明的又一个目的是为了在透明热塑性材料应用中提供低泛黄效果(并因此在目标塑料或者其它介质中提供较明亮的透明度),不要求存在可感知量的上蓝剂的某些聚氧烯化基于次甲基的紫外线吸收剂。本发明的又一个目的是提供包括本发明的低色度、低热塑性材料迁移的紫外线吸收化合物的有效UV吸收组合物或制品,特别是其中这样的化合物当在室温下未稀释时本身是液体。此外,本发明的目的是提供低色度UV吸收剂,其为透明热塑性材料包装内的内容物提供保护,以致不会由于暴露于UV波长在250至400nm范围内而容易发生降解。
具体实施方式
因此,本发明包括与结构式(I)所示的结构一致的紫外线化合物
其中R1、R2、R3、R4和R5相同或不同,并选自C1-20烷基、卤素、羟基、氢、氰基、磺酰基、磺基、硫酸根合、芳基、硝基、羧基、C1-20烷氧基和B-A,其中至少一个R1、R2、R3、R4和R5是B-A,其中B选自N、O、S、SO2、SO3、CO2,并且A由式(II)表示

其中聚氧化烯组分是选自C2-20烯氧基(alkyleneoxy group)、glydicol、缩水甘油基或其任何混合物的单体中的至少三个单体,R′选自氢、C1-20烷基和C1-20酯;其中如果B是N,则Z是2,如果B是除N之外的其他基团,则Z是1;X是氢、氰基或C(O)OR;Y是氢、氰基或C(O)OR,其中如果X和Y之一是氢或氰基,那么另一个是C(O)OR,其中R是具有4至20个碳原子的直链、支链或者环状烷基。在一个优选的实施方式中,至少R2和R4之一是氢或甲氧基,聚氧化烯组分是环氧乙烷,z是2,B因此是O,X是氰基,并且R是丁基或者乙基己基。这样的新化合物以5%的体积浓度存在于甲醇溶液时,其应该具有至多10的Gardner颜色水平,并具有320至400nm的波长范围内的最大紫外线吸收,另外当以至多0.5wt%的负载量结合在厚度至多11mm的聚酯制品中时,在400nm下在每个波长至多有10%可测量的紫外线透射率,优选地在390nm下至多5%。并且,这种新化合物在室温下在其纯的未稀释态也可以是液体,有利于操作和引入期望的介质,例如但是不限于热塑性材料。
包含这种本发明的UV吸收剂化合物的组合物也包括在本发明中,特别是那些包括作为液体或珠粒的化合物和上蓝剂,它们用于进一步引入期望的熔融热塑性材料和/或热固性塑料配方。并且,紫外线吸收的益处也可以再例如这种化合物在溶剂体系、油墨、织物操作组合物、皮肤晒黑和/或防护剂配方等存在的最终用途中产生。
术语“热塑性”规定为包括暴露在足够高的温度下显示物理状态从固体变化到液体的任何合成聚合材料。最著名的优选热塑性型材料是聚烯烃(即聚丙烯、聚乙烯等)、聚酯(即聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯等)、聚酰胺(即尼龙-1,1、尼龙-1,2、尼龙-6或尼龙-6,6)、聚苯乙烯、聚碳酸酯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚卤乙烯(即仅作为例子得聚氯乙稀和聚二氟乙烯)等。本发明中优选得热塑性材料是聚酯,更优选是聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯。这样“热固性”指的是暴露到足够的热中,在预定位置凝固的任何合成聚合材料。
这样的热塑性和/或热固性制品包括瓶子、贮存容器、片材、薄膜、纤维、板、软管、管子、注射器等。其中包括的是聚酯、聚苯乙烯和其它类似的透明树脂类材料,以片材的形式存在,发挥强度和弹性功能。在这样的例子中,本发明的低色度UV吸收剂将提供或有助于对目标包装制品(例如瓶子、容器等)中内容物,或者位于室内(例如在房子、建筑物、汽车等内,包括其中有这种添加剂的方式)的人的优异UV保护。事实上,这种低色度、低迁移的UV吸收剂的可能应用是多样化泛的并且不容易概括。然而,如上所述其它可能的最终用途将包括溶剂体系、油墨、织物操作组合物(在纺织品、纤维、织物上或内)、皮肤晒黑和/或防护剂配方等。
本发明要包括的其它用于具体公开的透明UV保护的热塑性材料制品类型包括但不限于薄膜、片材、瓶子、容器、小瓶等。一般在注塑(或其它模塑类型,例如吹塑)期间,将紫外线吸收剂加入到这样的组合物中,其包括但不限于通过将液体吸收剂与树脂珠粒混合并熔融整个涂覆的珠粒,或者当树脂和吸收剂预混合时在母料(master batch)熔融步骤中加入,并以珠粒的形式结合到一起。这样的塑料包括但不限于聚烯烃、聚酯、聚酰胺、聚氨基甲酸酯、聚碳酸酯和其它众所周知的树脂,例如术语“热塑性材料”包括Baumgartner等人在美国专利第4,640,690号和Kluger等人在美国专利第4,507,407号中公开的那些。通常,这种包括UV吸收添加剂的塑料通过各种挤出等技术,例如在上述美国专利中公开的那些而成形。优选的热塑性材料是聚酯,例如在一个非限定性实施方式中的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯。“塑料包装”因此包括用于储存用的容器、片材、泡罩包装等,包括如上所述任何结合的塑料。
与UV吸收化合物一起使用的术语“纯的、未稀释态”是指在室温下没有任何添加剂的化合物本身是液体。这样,为达到这种理想的物理状态,无需向该UV吸收剂中加入溶剂、粘度改性剂和其它添加剂。
如上所述这种发明的聚合UV吸收剂色度非常低。因此,为提供这种理想的低色度(低泛黄)特性,无需向特别的UV吸收剂中加入可感知量的其它着色剂(例如上蓝剂)、除酸剂和其它类似的添加剂。本领域的普通技术人员应当理解这种没有任何其它添加剂的低泛黄益处只适用于特别的化合物,这并不表示包含这种化合物的任何组合物仅包含这种发明的化合物作为热塑性添加剂。实际上,在引入期望的最终产品介质(例如热塑性材料)之前、期间和/或之后,也可以将其它添加剂,例如上述的上蓝剂、除酸剂、抗静电剂、光学增白剂等加入到这些化合物中。作为一个例子,聚合物的种类可以通过其破坏性分析(例如甲醇醇解)如进一步的分光光度分析来确定苯胺聚氧化烯化合物的任何特征位置。
术语“溶剂体系”包含任何水的或有机液体的配方。规定的水体系的非限制例子包括洗涤液、洗涤剂、织物柔软剂、打印墨水和着色剂及角蛋白染料。有机配方的非限定性例子包括非水类型的洗涤液、洗涤剂、织物柔软剂、打印墨水和着色剂及角蛋白染料,以及除锈剂、表面活性剂配方、烃组合物等。本发明UV吸收剂的加入通过用同步和彻底的搅拌仅将液体化合物加入目标溶剂体系中来完成。
油墨包括仅作为例子但不限于圆珠笔和自来水笔的笔、点阵打印机、用于标准复印机的调色剂、喷墨打印机、永久性记号笔、白板笔、新闻纸、杂志印刷、激光喷墨打印机等用作着色剂的组合物。本发明的UV吸收剂的加入通过用同步和彻底的搅拌仅将液体化合物加入目标油墨配方中来完成。
术语“织物操作组合物”包括用在织物上(至少和在织物表面上临时存在的UV吸收涂覆等)的任何配方。本发明的化合物在织物纤维内的结合也包含在该术语中,并因此包括在本发明中。皮肤防护和皮肤晒黑配方基本上包括任何包含用于保护皮肤免受太阳辐射的新型UV吸收化合物的组合物。
考虑到目前的技术状况,上述新型紫外线吸收化合物可提供大量的益处。例如,为了利于辨别制品中装的组合物和配方,很明显透明热塑性或热固性制品是高度理想的。为了美观的目的,这样的透明制品不应该有任何褪色。用目前使用的最标准的UV吸收剂,由于为了在UV范围内吸收提供这些化合物本身的颜色,泛黄是普遍的。因此,如前面指出的,要求相对大量的上蓝剂来抵抗这种效果并提供期望的无色树脂。本发明的塑料组合物和/或配方(和发明的紫外线吸收剂化合物)没有显示出这种程度的褪色,因此,即使这种化合物显示出一些黄色,但在目标热塑性材料中,只需使用量低得多的上蓝剂即可提供所需的无色透明树脂,从而节省成本并减少为提供这样的适当透明制品及较明亮制品所需的工作。因为上蓝剂不仅可以防止目标介质的发黄,而且可以引起目标介质发灰,因此通常避免大量使用这种试剂。由于由此得到的低色度表现,本发明的化合物因此提供低灰度水平的透明度。结果,期望的透明塑料显示出迄今未达到的亮度水平,同时在宽波长范围(如上所讨论)上具有广泛和有效的紫外线保护。而且,在对目标热塑性储存制品的某些内容物的保护方面,这种有效UV吸收特性值得关注。
而且,这种本发明的化合物具有从塑料和其它介质中非常低的迁移(例如低萃取)水平。作为液体或低粘度添加剂的聚氧化烯链在其中的存在作为非常通用的UV吸收化合物,当引入目标热塑性材料时,其显示出彻底和有效地混合,并且在随后的模塑和冷却中也显示出非常低的萃取含量。无论本发明的UV吸收剂化合物在何时引入目标热塑性材料的生产过程,本发明的化合物(以及本发明的热塑性组合物和/或配方)显示出这种低萃取量。这样,在聚合阶段(如在Pruett等人所述的)以及在注塑阶段,甚至在目标热塑性材料与其添加剂的初级混合期间的引入,对于本发明的UV吸收剂,均显示出非常低的萃取结果。这样这种通用性允许用户根据其它限制设计其反应方法,而不受有效引入低萃取的UV吸收剂化合物的限制(如现在在Pruett等人所述的情况中)。这种益处因此给予用户在热塑性材料生产期间在任何时间引入必需的有效UV吸收剂的灵活性。因此,在生产方法中在任何时间将这样的聚合化合物引入目标树脂因为大多数本发明的聚合UV吸收剂化合物,包括反应性末端官能团的液体性质而方便进行。从而操作大为改善,在期望介质内可以更完全的分散。此外,通过使用同时或相伴具有可靠性(性能和低萃取特性)的这种发明化合物,由于简单而减少了费用,并且可靠性随着更完全的混合等而增加。
此外,这种高度可靠、易操作、低色度和低迁移(低萃取)UV吸收化合物与目前工业中提供的标准UV吸收剂相比,也提供更大范围的保护。通常,当增加这样的标准UV吸收剂在目标介质(例如热塑性材料)中的量,高达约375nm时也是有效的。甚至随着这种标准UV吸收剂在目标介质(例如热塑性材料)中的量的增加,在目标介质中的褪色更显著,并且并不伴随更大的保护波长范围的益处。相反,本发明的化合物提供高达约400nm的保护。该效果通过选择某些一般在储存液体和固体中中高度易受UV攻击和分解的化学化合物而容易显示。例如,与标准UV吸收剂(例如Tinuvin234)相比,相对于相似的非聚合、非次甲基型紫外线吸收剂,暴露在320至400nm的UV源20小时,储存在透明聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯容器中的核黄素水溶液的保护非常好。这种改进,结合这些发明的化合物具有的其它任何或者所有特征,显示了这种化合物的新颖性和有用性,特别在透明和可能的塑料应用中。

如上所述,为了提供从热塑性材料中期望的低萃取水平,这种化合物是聚氧烯化的。对于符合式(I)的结构,提供这种低色度物质的能力显然通过采用特定类型的烷氧基化催化剂而控制,这种催化剂包括但是不限于稀土金属盐(例如磷酸镧),特别的金属氢氧化物(例如单独的和在对反应介质本身内的自由和/或可得的质子(下文中称作“质子海绵”)具有强亲合性的化合物存在下的氢氧化钾)等。如果与其它标准烷氧基化催化剂(例如氢氧化钠)相比,这种催化剂,尤其是稀土磷酸盐很容易设计成使杂质的含量和反应中存在的起始材料减少很多(虽然不完全明白这种有益的低色度生产背后的真正原因)。优选的是磷酸镧催化剂,其平均粒径(D50)为5至50微米,镧含量至少为58wt%的白色粉末状材料,并且基本不含任何氯。与其它标准烷氧基化催化剂(例如前面指出的NaOH)相比,由其催化得到的聚氧烯化产物通常具有低得多的色度。这种优选的催化剂在下面具体例子中采用的是相同的。
而且,不限于任何具体的科学理论,假设这种上述质子海绵化合物防止了带强电的质子物质(species)进攻最后的反应物和反应产物的潜在有害反应,并因此减少在最终产物内褪色化合物的产生。这种质子海绵化合物的例子包括但不限于1,8-双(二甲氨基)萘,1,8-双(二甲氨基)-2,7-二甲氧基萘,4,5-双(二甲氨基)-芴,4,5-双(二甲氨基)菲,奎诺[7,8-n]喹啉等,优选1,8-双(二甲氨基)萘。
优选地,烷氧基化化合物包括链长为3至约100的环氧乙烷或环氧丙烷或其混合物;更优选链长为约3至约50;最优选链长约4至20,所有的环氧乙烯也是高度优选的。
包括这种化合物的组合物也包括在本发明中,特别是作为液体或作为珠粒的那些化合物和上蓝剂。这些广泛定义的化合物以及更具体的类型因此根据低色度、低迁移、液态和在目标介质中有效和彻底的混合,提供透明应用(透明塑料作为非限制的例子)必需的特性。
在各种组合物和应用中使用的适当量高度依赖于各自独立的可能性。因此,例如在塑料中,本发明的UV吸收剂以总塑料组合物的约0.001至约1.5wt%的量加入,优选约0.01至约1.0%,最优选约0.05至约0.5%。这样的塑料可以包括其它标准添加剂,包括抗氧化剂、透明剂、成核剂、除酸剂、香料、着色剂(用于透明但是有色应用)、抗静电剂等。
优选实施方式
制备和利用优选的发明UV吸收剂的一般方法如下:

实施例1(发明和比较实施例)
4-羟基苯甲醛5EO
将400g 4-羟基苯甲醛、400ml甲苯和4g磷酸镧催化剂装入高压釜。然后密封高压釜,用氮气吹扫7次(到60PSIG的压力),然后加压到5PSIG氮气。将高压釜加热到121℃后,将环氧乙烷逐步加入到反应混合物中直至总计722g。一旦加入了所有的环氧乙烷,将混合物后煮(post-cook)总计30分钟。然后将混合物冷却到93℃,并真空汽提15分钟以除去未反应的环氧乙烷。在除去甲苯后,得到总计1110g(99%)的作为浅黄色的液体的产物,羟基数为163。
实施例2(比较)
4-羟基苯甲醛5EO/ECA UV吸收剂
向250ml三颈烧瓶中装入100g来自实施例1的4-羟基苯甲醛5EO,34.6g氰乙酸乙酯(ECA)和8g乙酸铵。在氮气氛中将反应物加热到50℃3小时。当冷却到室温,加入200ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用200ml的水洗涤。借助旋转式汽化器脱除水,产生100g产物,其在甲醇中的λmax为340nm,色值为62(abs/g/L)。
实施例3
4-羟基苯甲醛5EO/BCA UV吸收剂
向250ml三颈烧瓶中装入100g来自实施例1的4-羟基苯甲醛5EO,44g氰乙酸丁酯(BCA)和8g乙酸铵。在氮气氛中将反应物加热到50℃ 3小时。当冷却到室温,加入200ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用200ml的水洗涤。借助旋转式汽化器脱除水产生117g产物,其在甲醇中的λmax为341nm,色值为65(abs/g/L)。
实施例4
4-羟基苯甲醛5EO/EHCA UV吸收剂
向250ml三颈烧瓶中装入50g来自实施例1的4-羟基苯甲醛5EO,30.5g氰乙酸乙酸己酯(EHCA)和4g乙酸铵。在氮气氛中将反应物加热到50℃3小时。当冷却到室温,加入100ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用100ml的水洗涤。借助旋转蒸发器脱除水产生59g产物,其在甲醇中的λmax为341nm,色值为52(abs/g/L)。
实施例5(发明和比较实施例)
香草醛6EO
将2280g香草醛,20g磷酸镧催化剂装入高压釜。然后密封高压釜,用氮气吹扫几次(到60PSIG的压力),然后加压到5PSIG氮气。将高压釜加热到121℃后,将环氧乙烷逐步加入到反应混合物中直至总计3960g。一旦加入了所有的环氧乙烷,将混合物后煮总计30分钟。然后将混合物冷却到93℃,并在降低的压力下汽提15分钟以便除去未反应的环氧乙烷。产物为浅黄色的液体,羟基数为134。
实施例6(比较)
香草醛6EO/ECA UV吸收剂
将100g来自实施例5中描述的反应的4-聚氧化烯-3-甲氧基-苯甲醛,8.5g乙酸铵和28g氰乙酸乙酯(ECA)加入500ml三颈圆底烧瓶中。反应混合物用氮气吹扫5次,接着加热到40℃并保持3小时。当冷却到室温,加入200ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用200ml的水洗涤。借助旋转蒸发器脱除水,产生94g在甲醇中的λmax为358nm的产物。其在甲醇中的色值定义为在1000ml甲醇中每克样品的吸收,为43abs/g/l。
实施例7
香草醛6EO/BCA UV吸收剂
将100g来自实施例5描述的反应的4-聚氧化烯-3-甲氧基-苯甲醛,8.5g乙酸铵和35g氰乙酸丁酯(BCA)加入500ml三颈圆底烧瓶中。反应混合物用氮气吹扫5次,接着加热到40℃并保持3小时。当冷却到室温,加入200ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用200ml的水洗涤。借助旋转蒸发器脱除水,产生103g在甲醇中的λmax为358nm的产物。其在甲醇中的色值定义为在1000ml甲醇中每克样品的吸收,为42abs/g/l。
实施例8
香草醛6EO/EHCA UV吸收剂
将100g来自实施例5描述的反应的4-聚氧化烯-3-甲氧基-苯甲醛,8.5g乙酸铵和51g氰乙酸乙酸己酯(EHCA)加入500ml三颈圆底烧瓶中。将反应混合物用氮气吹扫5次,接着加热到40℃并保持3小时。当冷却到室温,加入200ml水,并将混合物加热到75℃。在定相后,产物层再用200ml的水洗涤。借助旋转蒸发器脱除水,产生86g在甲醇中的λmax为358nm的产物。其在甲醇中的色值定义为在1000ml甲醇中每克样品的吸收,为37abs/g/l。
在聚合物中UV吸收剂的性能
在PET中的热塑性组合物配方
在下面所述的关于聚酯制品生产应用的每个例子中,本发明的聚合UV吸收剂引入对于聚酯热塑性材料的注塑操作中,在这个例子中是聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(来自M&G的ClearTuf8006PET树脂)。将本发明的UV吸收剂以在下面相关实施例中指出的量借助搅拌混合到热、干的PET树脂珠粒中。UV吸收剂和珠粒的混合物借助重力供料到机器的进料喉。在进料区,通过采用旋转加热的(来自机筒的热传递)螺杆挤出机完成熔融。螺杆的旋转使UV吸收剂和熔融树脂完全混合到一起,产生均匀的塑料熔体,其被注射到模具以便形成热塑性制品,在这种情况下是平均厚度为50mil,表面积为12.5平方英寸的长3英寸宽2英寸的片。
本发明的UV吸收剂在PET中的热稳定性
收集10片如上所制的含UV吸收剂的PET,和如上所述制得的含有本发明的UV吸收剂的聚对苯二甲酸酯的热塑性片。用于制造首批10片[对照样品]的注塑机在制造另外10片的期间暂停,并可以在标准聚酯加工温度(~277℃)下闲置15分钟。在15分钟暂停结束后,不用从机器的加热筒吹扫冷却的树脂而重新开动机器。然后在注塑操作开始后,收集并编号10个连续的片[测量样品]。
从标准操作收集的对照样品的UV吸收剂的λmax的吸收值通过Perkin-Elmer Lambda 35分光光度计测量,并用平均值来代表对于所有片的标准测量。在15分钟保留期(hold-period)后收集的10片连续测量样品中的每一个在分光光度计上单独和顺序测量。记录对照样品和10个测量样品的每一个之间标准测量的吸收差,并定义为吸收的变化(ΔAbs)。UV吸收剂的热稳定性通过由下式计算的UV吸收损失的百分比(Loss%)测量
Loss%=[ΔAbs]/[标准]
在15分钟保留期后收集的10片测量样品的最大Loss%代表了最大的吸收差,并确定为UV吸收剂的热稳定性。
测量以上来自样品2、3、6和7的本发明UV吸收剂的热稳定性(Loss%),结果列入下表(实施例2的UV吸收剂负载量是822ppm,其它样品的负载量基于它们的色值被调整到吸收峰的相同高度):

当通过这种方法分析时,小于10的Loss%被认为是可接受的,小于2%的结果认为是优异的。明显地,本发明的UV吸收剂显示出非常高的热稳定特性,尤其在与对比实施例2和6比较时。
本发明的UV吸收剂在PET中的耐光性
对于在具体负载(见下)下的每个单独的本发明UV吸收剂组合物,根据在前面部分描述的方法制得10片。
从标准操作收集的10片的吸收(每个本发明的UV吸收剂的λmax)在Perkin-Elmer Lambda 35分光光度计中测量,并用平均值代表标准测量。然后将2片,每片为三组置于氙光下,分别暴露10、20和40小时。在暴露的观测时间后收集2片的每组,并在Perkin-Elmer分光光度计上单独顺序测量吸收(每个本发明的UV吸收剂的λmax)的变化。在标准测量和暴露的3组片的每一片之间的吸收差被确定为ΔAbs。这样,结合的UV吸收剂的耐光性通过由下式计算的UV吸收损失的百分比(Loss%)测量
Loss%=[ΔAbs]/[标准]
片的Loss%越大,吸收差越大,并确定为较差的UV吸收剂耐光性。
表2:本发明的UV吸收剂的耐光性
在这种方案下,在40小时暴露后至多15%的Loss%和20小时暴露后至多14%的Loss%是高度理想的。这表明本发明的实施例3和7具有与对照相比改进的耐光性。因此,本发明的UV吸收剂具有高度理想的,出乎预料的好耐光性。
UV吸收剂在模塑的PET中黄色的测定
对于选择的UV吸收剂实施例,测定作为操作结果的泛黄程度。将特定量的本发明UV吸收剂加入到2kg ClearTuf8006聚酯树脂中。完全混合后,树脂在单螺杆挤出机上复合并且切粒形成的线粒(emergent strand)。为了模拟转炉中通常使用的工业干燥工艺,将一半的粒状样品在真空下在150℃干燥5小时,然后注塑成175mil厚的片(2in×3in)。为了模拟PET树脂制造商通常实行的工业Solid StatingProcess(SSP),另一半粒状样品在氮气氛中在210℃的干燥15小时,然后将颗粒注塑成175mil厚的片(2in×3in)。以黄色指数(ASTM试验方法E313)表示的片泛黄的程度用MacBeth Coloreye 7000分光光度计测量。
在固态化后测量来自实施例2、3、6和7的本发明UV吸收剂在PET中的黄色,结果列入下表:

在这种试验方法下,在建议的负载量下至多30的黄色指数被认为是工业可接受的。大多数发明的实施例显示出比对比例好很多的黄色等级,显示出由此提供的出乎意料的良好结果。
由于发明的具体特征已经描述,当然应当理解本发明不限于任何具体的形态或实例,对本领域的普通技术人员来说,符合本发明主题的任何修改和其它实施方式均属于本发明。因此,本申请所附的权利要求书包括含有在本发明真正含义、精神和范围内的任何修改。
Claims (5)
1. 一种符合结构式(I)所示结构的紫外线吸收化合物(I)
其中R1、R2、R3、R4和R5相同或不同,并选自C1-20烷基、卤素、羟基、氢、氰基、磺酰基、磺基、硫酸根合、芳基、硝基、羧基、C1-20烷氧基和B-A,
其中至少一个R1、R2、R3、R4和R5是B-A,
其中B选自O、S、SO2和CO2,并且A由式(II)表示
(II) [聚氧化烯组分]R′
其中聚氧化烯组分是选自C2-20烯氧基、缩水甘油基或其任何混合物的单体中的至少三个单体,R′选自氢、C1-20烷基和C1-20酯;
X是氰基或C(O)OR;Y是氰基或C(O)OR;
其中X和Y之一是氰基,另一个是C(O)OR;
其中R是具有4个碳原子的直链或支链的丁基。
2. 一种包括权利要求1所述的化合物和至少一种选自热塑性材料、热固性材料、墨水、皮肤晒黑配方、皮肤防护配方和织物操作组合物的组分的组合物。
3. 一种包括权利要求1所述的化合物和至少一种选自聚酯、聚酰胺、聚烯烃、聚碳酸酯、聚氨基甲酸酯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚卤乙烯和其任何混和物的热塑性材料的热塑性制品。
4. 根据权利要求3所述的热塑性制品,其中所述的热塑性材料是聚酯。
5. 根据权利要求4所述的热塑性制品,其中所述的聚酯是PET。
