Abstract
Los métodos de la técnica de insecto estéril guiado de precisión revelada (pgSIT) incluyen métodos para dirigir el sexado masculino en un insecto genéticamente modificado y métodos para producir una progenie de huevo de insecto macho estéril genéticamente modificado. Estos métodos incluyen la integración de por lo menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico en el genoma de un primer insecto, la cual tiene por lo menos una secuencia de ácido nucleico que tiene por lo menos un primer polinucleótido guía que se dirige a una secuencia genómica femenina esencial que se requiere para la viabilidad específica de la hembra, la introducción de una endonucleasa en un segundo insecto y el cruce genético del primer y el segundo insecto, produciendo así una progenie que expresa la endonucleasa y la secuencia de ácido nucleico por lo menos una. En el caso de la esterilidad masculina, un segundo polinucleótido guía se dirige a una secuencia genómica de esterilidad masculina que se requiere para la esterilidad específica del macho.
