Abstract

<p>Un lente oftálmico que incorpora un arreglo de microlentes. A fin de refractar la luz, el denominador común en lentes oftálmicos convencionales es la diferencia en la curvatura entre la superficie frontal y la superficie posterior. Sin embargo, esto implica ciertas limitaciones en el diseño de ciertos lentes de gama alta tal como gafas de solo de prescripción y lentes progresivos. En el caso de gafas de sol de prescripción, estas limitaciones de diseño dan por resultado gafas de sol de prescripción que típicamente sólo están disponibles en un intervalo limitado de prescripciones. La elección de la curvatura de la superficie frontal del lente (curva base) se determina por la geometría del armazón que se envuelve alrededor de la cara. La mayoría de las gafas de sol de prescripción debe, por consiguiente, realizarse utilizando curvas base en el intervalo de seis a ocho dioptrías.</p>
