Une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'in vention est représentée schématiquement -et, à titre d'exemple, sur le dessin annexé, dans lequel: La fig. 1 est urne coupe verticale longi tudinale de l'ensemble de cette forme,d'exé- cution; La fig. 2 en est une coupe horizontale;
Pour le nettoyage ou rinçage du fleuret, du liquide peut être admis du conduit 6 .par des passages .appropriés 21 et. 22 dans des passages 23 formés par des méplats prévus sur le bouchon 24 et passe de là clans la chambre 25, puis sa rend par le trou central 26 dans un tube 27 qui traverse axialement le marteau 2;
Rock hole punch. This invention relates to a pressure wave driven rock drill comprising a reciprocating hammer having a portion comprised between columns of liquid to aid in determining the motion of the rock. back and forth in unison with the pressure waves: da command.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown schematically - and, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is an urn in vertical longitudinal section of the whole of this form, of execution; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section;
Fig. 3 is a cross section along line 3--3 die, -la fig. i; Fig. 4 -is a co pe along line 4 --- 4 of fig. i; Fig. 5 is a section taken along line 5-5 of FIGS. 1 and 2.
In this drawing, 1 designates the body! Of the perforator constituted by a cast or forged part provided with a capacity C. The hammer 2, driven by a reciprocating movement, is placed freely in this capacity, l the anterior end 3 of the hammer acting on a foil 4, while the posterior end 5 of the hammer is subjected to the pressure of a hydraulic pressure wave transmission pipe, intended to be connected to the duct of The inlet 6 provided with a tap 7. The front end 3 of the hammer 2 is provided with gaskets 8 to prevent liquid leaks from the capacity C: or to reduce them to a minimum.
The capacity C -is. For view of an air discharge valve 9,; through which air can escape from the capacity C when charging the device.
It is easy to understand how hammer 2 works and how it works. can be summarized as follows: If it is assumed that the inlet duct 6 is connected to a pressure wave transmission duct connected to a pressure wave generator. in a liquid, the pressure: d 'an incoming wave acting on the surface A pushes the hammer 2 back into the capacity C, which maximizes the pressure inside this capacity, as a result of the pressure exerted on the liquid contained in said closed capacity.
As soon as the pressure of the waves in the pipe falls below the mean pressure, this maximum pressure of the capacity acting on the surface of the hammer, which is the ring constituted by the difference in area between the surface A and surface B, bring back the hammer when it has struck.
The force due to the mean pressure in the pipe acting on the surface A is equal to the force due to the maximum pressure of the capacity C acting on the annular surface A-B. It follows. therefore that the hammer 2 arrives at its percussion position - its extreme anterior position - when the pressure in the pipe has gone from the minimum pressure to the medium pressure and the hammer remains in this position, that is to say. say that the blow continues until, the pressure of the pipe has passed from the medium pressure to the maximum pressure and it is again dropped to the medium pressure.
However, as the line pressure drops below the average pressure, the maximum pressure of the capacity C acting on the annular surface A-13 brings the hammer 2 back to be ready for the next shock. It is understood that the above action occurs. about each uncle of pressure, so that with a frequency of 2300 keys per minute, that is, a satisfactory frequency, hammer 2 performs 2300 back-and-forth movements and gives 2300 shocks.
The foil 4, which can perform both a percussive movement and a rotary movement, is. Brought to turn step by step under the action of an independent pressure wave receiving motor, synchronized with the impact of the hammer. and clearly shown in Fig. 3. The foil 4 is provided with clutch wedges 11 which engage in closed longitudinal grooves of a mandrel 18 carrying spring ratchets 16. The pressure wave coming from the pipe arrives at 6a and acts on the surface A 'by pushing back the piston 14 in the direction of the arrow This action exerts a pressure on the liquid in the capacity C2 and at the same time moves the ratchet ring 15.
In this example, the pressure of the pipe is synchronized with the pressure of the capacity C =, the maximum pressure of the pipe equaling the maximum pressure of the capacity Cû, and as soon as the pressure of the pipe drops, the pressure of the capacity returns the piston 14, the pawls 16 biased by their springs 17 engage, and the mandrel 18 which carries the pawls 16 turns and does. turn the foil with which it is clipped by means of the keys 1.1, this rotation movement taking place during the return stroke of the hammer 2.
For the lubrication of the ratchet, there is. an opening 19 closed by a ball 20 with a spring, and channels 32, 33 and 34 allow the escape of any leak which could be made by the linings 35 of the udder 14.
For cleaning or rinsing the foil, liquid can be admitted from the conduit 6 .by .appropriate passages 21 and. 22 in passages 23 formed by flats provided on the plug 24 and passes from there clans the chamber 25, then its returns through the central hole 26 in a tube 27 which passes axially through the hammer 2;
a suitable gasket 28 is provided around this pipe to ensure the seal, and the tube 27 is extended by a channel extending in the longitudinal direction of the foil and. by which the liquid arrives at the tip of the foil.
The whole body of the hole punch is. supported by a circular boss 29 forming an integral part of the cradle or envelope 30 in the usual manner. During drilling the advancement of the tool is effected by means of the advancement screw 31 actuated by the handle 41 in a known manner.
A detail of a certain practical advantage is the means of adjusting the tightness of the linings 8 from the outside of the punch, so that the adjustment can be made at any time during the threshing of the foil without disassembly. This adjustment means comprises a threaded gland ring 37 (fig. 5) provided with a helical toothing 38 with which a worm 39 engages which can be turned using a wrench. threaded on the head @ ca.r- rée 40 of the screw 39. It is easy to see that by turning this worm 39, one causes the rotation of the ring 37 and consequently the adjustment of the tightening of the linings 8.
