Description Description

The present invention relates to an oscillating mass for the reassembly of an automatic watch movement.

It is known that to increase the commercial appeal of watch products, some movements have openwork plates ("skeleton watches"), and / or a transparent bottom case so that the user and potential customers can see the mobile mechanical parts within the movement. These devices exacerbate the technological aspect of the watch product in question, and increase its commercial appeal. The effect of these provisions is however limited, all the mechanical parts are the same material and color, which gives a certain monotony to the whole. Moreover, most mechanical parts are animated with a slow movement sometimes difficult to perceive for the user, and are permanently or intermittently hidden from the view of the user. Only the oscillating mass is permanently visible and of sufficient size to attract the eye by its erratic movements, depending on the movement of the user.

[0003] It is also known that in the field of automatic movement wristwatches, the efficiency of the winding mechanism depends on the movement rate and the lifestyle of the user. There are so-called "strong" carriers, active persons for whom the operation and reassembly of an automatic movement with oscillating weight does not pose a problem, and so-called "weak" carriers, more sedentary people for whom it is appropriate to increase the weight of the oscillating weight to ensure that the limited movements they perform are sufficient to raise the automatic movement. Thus, the fine adjustment of the reassembly of mass produced automatic movements is not possible, except to use oscillating masses of different sizes. In fact, manufacturers are often forced to choose a medium-term oscillating weight, allowing the use of the watch to a maximum number of users. Nevertheless, for some users, especially "weak" wearers, some automatic watches do not work properly due to insufficient reassembly.

The present invention aims, firstly, to provide an oscillating weight of increased appeal for the user of a wristwatch equipped with an automatic mechanical movement with transparent caseback. The present invention, on the other hand, the purpose of providing an oscillating mass for automatic mechanical movement that is adapted to the needs of different carriers "strong" or "weak".

To achieve these goals, the oscillating mass of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one decorative element, which is visible on the surface of said mass, reflects more light than the surrounding surface of the oscillating mass has a density (density or specific weight) different from that of the metal constituting the oscillating mass, and is fixed to the oscillating weight by crimping or embedding.

The decorative element, by its light reflection characteristics, can attract more surely the eye of the user, and thus increase the appeal of the watch product in question. The decorative element can be made of any reflective material, such as precious or precious stones, natural or synthetic, gemstones, diamonds, as well as gold or any other metal, precious or not.

By varying the number and the density of the decorative elements attached to the surface of the oscillating mass, the present invention makes it possible to fine-tune the characteristics of the oscillating mass to the needs of the user. Thus, it is no longer necessary to use several basic sizes or machining of the oscillating weight for the "strong" or "weak" carriers, and only one model can be used for all categories of carriers.

In one embodiment of the invention, the crimped or embedded decorative element is made removable by a provision of crimping or non-permanent embedding, as is well known to those skilled in the art.

Figs. 1 and 2 represent, by way of example, one embodiment of the oscillating mass according to the invention.

1. Fig. 1 is a plan view from above (corresponding to the visible face of the user) of said oscillating mass. Fig. 2 is a sectional view along the line A-A of FIG. 1.

The oscillating mass shown in the drawing comprises a body of oscillating mass 1, which has the general shape of a semicircle. On its visible surface of the user is fixed at least one decorative element 2, fixed and visible on the surface of the oscillating mass.
