Description

The present invention relates to a watch case provided with decorative elements of changing appearance.

[0002] Watches and more specifically wristwatches apart from their primary function of giving time, counting time and other similar and varied functions are also ornamental objects. Watchmakers have always tried to decorate their watches with fixed or mobile decorative elements. Mobile decorative elements allow choice or random modification of the appearance of a watch.

The present invention provides a watch case provided with decorative elements of changing appearance.

The watch case according to the invention is characterized in that the lateral surface of the middle part of the watch case is that of a body of revolution and said lateral surface is provided with pivoting decorative elements arranged to be kinematically related to a rotating ring of the middle bezel.

Decorative elements which are in principle of prismatic or spherical or conical or ovoid shape can be provided with different decorations on their side surfaces, and turning the ring of the middle bezel changes the lateral appearance of the box. shows.

According to an alternative embodiment the rotating ring is provided with windows for alternately exposing other decorative elements located under said rotary ring. Indeed, we can have under the rotating ring stones of different colors and when we turn the ring also changes the appearance of the bezel of the watch.

[0007] Other variant embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.

The invention will be described in more detail with the aid of the accompanying drawing showing an embodiment according to the invention.

The single figure is an exploded perspective view of a watch case according to the invention.

The watch case comprises a middle part 1 of cylindrical shape provided with two horns 2. The two horns 2 are not massive but recessed to ensure the continuity of the side surface of the middle part. This is, of course, an aesthetic choice, because the horns could be massive. The shape of the middle part 1 could be conical. The upper part of the middle part 1 is provided with an annular horizontal projection 3 provided with holes 4 regularly distributed. The caseband 1 has a cylindrical raising 5 provided with a groove 6. The caseband comprises a rotating ring 7, two half-rings 31, a toothed ring 9 and optionally an intermediate ring 10 located under the rotary ring 7. The rotating ring 7 is notched on its periphery and provided with windows 8 on its upper surface. The intermediate ring 10 is optional and it is provided with holes 11 in which can be crimped decorative elements such as synthetic or semi-precious or precious stones. The windows 8 of the ring 7 make it possible to see these decorative elements or not according to the angular position of the rotary ring 7. The intermediate ring 10 is fixed on the middle part 1 by screws 12. After having placed the toothed ring 9 on the caseband 1 the two half-rings 31 are put in place, the internal diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the groove 6 of the raising element 5. The rotary ring 7 is placed and the ring 7 is assembled, the half-rings rings 31 and the toothed ring 9 by screws 13. The two half-rings 31 are held in the vertical direction by the groove 6 of the raising 5 but they remain free in rotation. Thus, the rotary ring 7 the two half-rings 31 and the toothed ring 9, can rotate together but can not move upwards. Instead of two half-rings 31 could be used a Circlip. A glass 14 closing the bezel middle is shown in the figure. The ring 23 and its tube 24 are also shown which cooperate with the rod of the watch movement in a conventional manner.

In the lower part of the middle part 1 there is shown: the movement of the watch 15 and its support 16 assembled by screws 22, a bottom ring 17 with holes 29 and counters 18 for the horns 2, and an annular bottom cover 19 with a closure 20 which can be made of transparent material. Screws 21 make it possible to fix the elements of the bottom to the middle part 1.

The decorative elements of changing appearance are in the example shown prismatic elements 25 kinematically connected to the pinions 26 traversed by screws 27 solidarisant the pinions 26 and the decorative elements 25. The lower part of each decorative element 25 comprises a pivot 28. The decorative elements 25 are taken between the annular projection 3 and the bottom ring 17. The pivots 28 of the decorative elements 25 enter the holes 29 of the bottom ring 17 or corresponding holes of the horns 2 to right of counterbores 18 while the screws 27 and gables 26 pass through the holes 4 of the annular projection 3.

When the watch case is assembled, the toothed ring 9 meshes with the pinions 26 and when the rotary ring 7 is rotated the toothed ring 9 drives the pinions 26 which rotate the decorative elements 25. A ball spring 30 located in the middle part 1 collaborating with corresponding notches (not shown) under the toothed ring 9 allow indexing of the angular position of the rotary ring 7 and from the decorative elements 25.

[0014] Each face of the prismatic element 25 may be decorated in a different manner, for example, by crimping them with different colored stones or any other desired decoration. Turning the rotary ring 7 changes the lateral appearance of the watch case and the appearance of the bezel through the windows 8.

The shape of the decorative elements 25 may be other than prismatic, for example spherical, conical, cylindrical, ovoid, etc.
