fig. 1 è una sezione parziale di una vaschetta dell'acqua per apparecchi sanitari comprendente un dispositivo di comando incorporante il sistema di montaggio secondo l'innovazione;
fig. 2 è una sezione mediana parziale del dispositivo di comando di fig. 1, in un'altra posizione di montaggio;
fig. 3 è una sezione parziale del dispositivo, presa secondo la linea IlI-IlI di fig. 1;
fig. 4 è una sezione secondo la linea IV-IV di fig. 2;
fig. 5 è una vista in pianta di un componente della fig. 4;
fig. 6 è una sezione secondo la linea VI-VI di fig. 2, in scala ingrandita;
fig. 2, pure in scala ingrandita.
The present invention relates to a device for controlling the drain valve of a tray for sanitary appliances.
The control devices of the aforesaid type generally comprise a drain connection fixed at a hole in the bottom of the tray, and a support fitting for at least one valve control button, arranged in a hole on the lid of the tray.
Control devices are known, in which the tray lid is not blocked on the tray by the command device. In this case, the button fitting can be fixed on the cover or on the body of the device. It can also be accessed inside the tray by simply lifting the lid. If you want to avoid easy opening of the tray, however, the lid must be equipped with additional locking means.
Other control devices are also known, in which the button fitting, when mounted, locks the lid on the tray. In this case, the button fitting is removably mounted on the lid, but to access the tray, you must first disassemble the button fitting and then reassemble it. This need to disassemble the fitting is however disadvantageous for some types of trays.
The aim of the innovation is to provide a control device for the discharge valve, which can be adapted to any type or size of the tray, and which is extremely simple and eliminates the drawbacks listed above for known devices.
According to the innovation, this object is achieved with a device for controlling the drain valve of a tray for sanitary appliances, which comprises a drain fitting fixed in correspondence with a hole in the bottom of said tray, and a support fitting for at least one control button for said valve, said support fitting being arranged in a hole in a lid of said tray, and is characterized in that it comprises means which can be positioned selectively so as to lock said lid on said tray or to keep said unlocked cover.
For a better understanding of the innovation, a preferred embodiment of the model is described here, made by way of example with the aid of the attached drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a partial section of a water tank for sanitary appliances comprising a control device incorporating the mounting system according to the innovation;
Fig. 2 is a partial median section of the control device of fig. 1, in another mounting position;
Fig. 3 is a partial section of the device, taken along the line IlI-IlI of fig. 1;
Fig. 4 is a section along the line IV-IV of fig. 2;
Fig. 5 is a plan view of a component of fig. 4;
Fig. 6 is a section along the line VI-VI of fig. 2, on an enlarged scale;
Fig. 7 is a section along the line VII-VII of fig. 2, also on an enlarged scale.
With reference to fig. 1, 5 generally and schematically indicates a water tank for sanitary appliances, which is equipped with the usual tap for connection to the water supply pipe, and with the usual control float for this tap, not indicated in the drawings. The tray 5 is generally of the external type, i.e. not recessed in the wall, and can be made of porcelain or plastic material. It has a bottom wall 6 equipped with a hole 7, and a removable cover 8, equipped with another hole 9. A device for controlling the drainage of the water, generally indicated with 10, is mounted on holes 7 and 9. The components of the device 10 are generally made of rigid plastic material.
The device 10 comprises a drain fitting 11, having an externally threaded lower portion 12, a flat shoulder 13 and an upper portion 14 with a larger diameter. The portion 12 is adapted to be inserted into the hole 7 with the interposition of a gasket 15 and is fixed on the bottom 6 of the tray 5, by means of a threaded ring nut 16. The portion 14 is connected to the shoulder 13 by four axial segments 17, which delimit four openings 18, suitable for allowing the passage of water from the tray 5 into the portion 12.
The portion 14 further comprises an L-shaped slot 19 (fig. 1), in which a radial peg 20 is engaged as a bayonet, carried by a fixed body, generally indicated by 21, which forms the fixed part of the control device 10 The body 21 has a cylindrical shape and is internally hollow. In the body 21, an overflow drain pipe 22 slides vertically, which is provided at the bottom with an elastic ring 25 for closing the drain valve, not shown in the drawings.
When lifted on its own, the tube 22 controls the partial discharge of the water from the tray 5, in the manner described in the Applicant's patent application of the same date, having the title: "Device for controlling the water drain valve of a tray for sanitary appliances ". As described in this patent application, in the body 21 a sleeve 23 for controlling the total discharge of the water of the tray 5 is vertically sliding. The sleeve 23 is concentric to the tube 22, and in its upward motion it is adapted to drag also tube 22.
The control device further comprises a fitting 24 for supporting two buttons 26 and 27 for controlling the partial drain and the total drain of the water of the tray 5 respectively. The fitting 24 comprises an externally threaded lower portion 28, a shoulder 29 and a upper portion 30 for guiding the two buttons 26 and 27, ending with a flange 31. The threaded portion 28 of the fitting 24 is adapted to engage a threaded portion 33 (figs. 2 and 3) of a sleeve 32. This presents a series of axial ribs 34 (see also fig. 4) and two tangential grooves 36 diametrically opposite. Finally, the sleeve 32 is provided with a funnel portion 37, suitable for engaging the lower surface of the cover 8.
Therefore, by inserting the fitting 24 into the hole 9 (fig. 1) of the cover 8, and screwing its threaded portion 28 into the thread of the portion 33 of the sleeve 32, the cover 8 remains removably fixed between the shoulder 29 of the fitting 24 and the edge of the funnel portion 37.
The control device 10 further comprises a support generally indicated by 38, which is connected to the fixed body 21, as will be better seen hereinafter. The support 38 has an upper ring 39, into which the sleeve 32 can be inserted with a slight friction of its ribs 34. The internal surface of the ring 39 has two diametrically opposite axial ribs 41 (fig. 5), suitable for engaging between two pairs of ribs 34 of the sleeve 32, to limit the rotation of the sleeve 32 in the ring 39.
The support 38 also has an oblong-shaped transverse plate 42, which is connected to the ring 39 by means of two segments 43 with a horizontal curved section, intercalated with two diametrically opposite flat walls 46. Each wall 46 includes a curved portion, forming a transverse guide 47 (see also Fig. 3). The two guides 47 are parallel to each other, have a semicircular section and are specular to each other. The two ribs 41 are arranged slightly offset from the center line of the guides 47 and are used to position the sleeve 32 (fig. 4) with the two grooves 36 substantially facing the two guides 47.
The control device 10 comprises means which can be positioned selectively, comprising a connecting member 48 having two parallel arms 49. These are adapted to be inserted in the two guides 47 of the support 38 and to slide transversely with respect to the support 38 itself. The member 48 also has a cross member 51 for connecting the two arms 49, which slides manually to move the member 48, so that it is arranged outside the support 38.
The two arms 49 have a certain elasticity and are normally held radially against the guides 47. They have a portion 52 having a thickness such as to remain totally within the respective guides 47. Another portion 53 of the arms 49, adjacent to the cross member 51 instead, it has a greater thickness, so that it protrudes towards the inside of the ring 39. Finally, the member 48 has two pairs of elastic appendages 54 and 56 respectively arranged at the ends of the arms 49 and on the cross member 51.
When it is required that the cover 8 (fig. 1 and 2) remains unlocked with respect to the tray 5, on one side the fitting 24 of the buttons 26, 27 is inserted in the hole 9 of the cover 8, and its threaded portion 28 is screwed into the threading of the portion 33 of the sleeve 32. In this way, the cover 8 remains fixed between the flange 31 of the fitting 24 and the edge of the funnel portion 37.
On the other hand, the member 48 is positioned (see also fig. 4) with the portions 52 of the arms 49 in the guides 47, without the use of any tool. The appendages 54 of the arms 49 now hook onto an edge of the guides 47, as indicated by dashed lines in fig. 4. Finally, in the ring 39 of the support 38, the sleeve 32 is inserted together with the cover 8 and the fitting 24. Since the portions 52 of the arms 49 do not engage the grooves 36, the cover 8 simply remains resting on the tray 5, together to the sleeve 32 and to the fitting 24.
On the other hand, when the cover 8 is required to remain locked on the tray 5, firstly, the sleeve 32 is inserted into the ring 39, bringing the grooves 36 in correspondence with the guides 47. Then, acting on the cross member 51, the member 48 is moved. transversely bringing it to the position of fig. 4, wherein the appendages 56 go to hook on an edge of the walls 46. The portions 53 of the arms 49 now move in correspondence with the guides 47 and also engage the grooves 36 of the sleeve 32, which thus remains blocked on the support 38. Finally , the lid 8 is placed on the tray 5, and the fitting 24 is inserted in the sleeve 32, on which it is screwed, thus locking the lid 8 on the tray 5. Obviously, to access the inside of the tray 5, it is now necessary to unscrew and extract the fitting 24.
The mounting system also allows the control device 10 to be adapted to trays 5 of different heights. For this purpose, the fixed body 21 is connected to the support 38 by means of adjustable means, comprising two uprights 57 diametrically opposite and integral with the body 21, two toothed bars 58 in part with the support 38, and two bolts 59 for locking the bars 58 on the uprights 57.
In particular, the two uprights 57 have a C-section, in which the corresponding toothed bar 58 is housed. The two wings 61 of each upright 57 are provided with two corresponding slits 62 aligned and of dimensions corresponding to the section of a compartment between two adjacent teeth of the bars 58. Each bolt 59 comprises a central portion 63 having a width corresponding to the width of the space between the teeth of the bars 58. Furthermore, the bolt 59 comprises two stop shoulders 64 against one of the wings 61, a portion of socket 66 arranged adjacent to the shoulders 64 and operable by hand, and a bifurcated portion having two elastic hook tabs 67, adapted to snap-engage on the other of the wings 61.
For fixing, the bars 58 are first arranged in the cable of the uprights 57, in the desired longitudinal position. Then without the use of any tool, each bolt 59 is inserted, through one of the slots 62 of the upright 57, in the space between two teeth of the bar 58 and in the other slit 62, until the tabs 67 snap past this second slit 62. The support 38 now remains rigidly connected to the body 21.
The transverse plate 42 of the support 38 is provided with an opening 68 in which a funnel guide 69 is disposed, through which two lower portions 73 and 74 of two struts 71 and 72 pass fixed to the two buttons 26 and 27. The two portions 73 and 74 are coaxial with each other. The plate 42 is also equipped with a pair of wings 75 (fig. 3) parallel and perpendicular to the plate 42. The wings 75 carry two pins 76 and 77 (fig. 2) parallel to each other, on which two return levers are pivoted 78 and 79. Each lever 78, 79 has an actuation arm 81, 82 directed towards the axis of the support 38. The two arms 81, 82 are adapted to be engaged by the portions 73 and 74 of the struts 71 and 72.
The tube 22 is provided above with a radial flap 83, connected to the pin and slot with a plate 84. This is provided with a bend which carries as a piece a first tie rod 86, which is adapted to be actuated upwards by the lever 78 to lift the tube 22. In turn, the sleeve 23 is provided with a pair of radial fins 87 connected, by means of an intermediate member 88, with a second tie rod 89 suitable to be operated upwards by the lever 79, to lift sleeve 23 together with tube 22.
Each of the two levers 78 and 79 is equipped with a second arm 91 and 92 connected with the corresponding tie rod by means of a joint 93, 94. In particular, each tie rod 86 and 89 has a series of grooves 95 arranged at a reciprocal distance equal to the pitch of the teeth of the bars 58. Each joint 93, 94 comprises a pair of pins 96 (figs. 6 and 7) carried by a C-shaped intermediate element 97, comprising two pairs of internal protrusions 98, suitable for snap engagement, without use of any tool, in two adjacent grooves 95 of the corresponding tie rod 86, 89.
Finally, each arm 91, 92 of the levers 78, 79 comprises a pair of parallel hook-shaped appendages 99 (see also fig. 1), suitable for being engaged by the pair of pins 96 of the corresponding intermediate element 97. In this way it is possible to connect the joint 93, 94 of the arm 91, 92 of each lever 78, 79 with the respective tie rod 86, 89 in a series of positions of this tie rod 86, 89, corresponding to the connection positions between the uprights 57 and the bars 58. In figs. 1 and 2, levers 78 and 79 are connected in the two extreme positions of two tie rods 86 and 89.
From what has been seen above, the advantages of the innovation with respect to the known systems are evident. First of all, the lid 8 can be mounted both so as to be blocked on the tray 5, and so as to be simply supported. Furthermore, the support fitting 24 of the buttons 26 and 27 and the levers 78 and 79 can be connected to the fixed body 21 and to the tie rods 86 and 89 in a series of positions, so that they can be adapted to trays 5 of different heights. Finally, such assembly and connections can be varied without the use of any tools.
It is understood that various modifications and improvements can be made to the described mounting system without departing from the scope of the claims. For example, the connecting member 48 could have only one arm. Furthermore, the teeth of the bars 58 and the bolts 59 can have a different section. Finally, the tie rods 86 and 89 can be provided with holes or notches suitable for being engaged by a pin to be inserted in a corresponding hole in each of the two arms 91, 92. This pin then acts as an intermediate element of the joint.
