5 parts of naphthalenesulfonic acid / formaldehyde condensate sat,
82 parts of kaolin.
The active ingredients are mixed intimately with the additives in suitable mixers and ground on appropriate mills and rollers. Spray powder is obtained which can be diluted with water to form suspensions of any desired concentration.
D. Emulsifiable concentrates:
The following substances are used to produce a) 10% emulsifiable concentrate: a) 10 parts of active ingredient,
3.4 parts of epoxidized vegetable oil,
3.4 parts of a combination emulsifier consisting of
Fatty alcohol polyglycol ether and alkylarylsulfonate
Calcium salt,
40 parts of dimethylformamide,
43.2 parts xylene.
Emulsions of any desired concentration can be prepared from such a concentrate by dilution with water.
E. Spray agent:
The following constituents are used to produce a) 5% and b) 95% spray: a) 5 parts of active ingredient,
1 part epichlorohydrin,
94 parts of gasoline (boiling point 160-190); b) 95 parts of active ingredient,
5 parts epichlorohydrin.
Example 2
Effect against Leptinotarsa decemlineata I
Potato plants were sprayed with a 0.05% aqueous active ingredient emulsion (obtained from a 10% emulsifiable concentrate). After the topping had dried on, the potato plants were populated with Leptinotarsa decemlineata larvae (L3).
The killings achieved were evaluated after 2, 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours. The test was carried out at 24C and 60% relative humidity.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed a good feeding poison effect against Leptinotarsa decemlineata larvae in the above experiment.
Example 3
Effect against Leptinotarsa decemlineata II
Two 15 cm high potato plants were sprayed with 25 ml of an acetone / water mixture (1: 1) containing 0.05% test substance.
After the topping had dried on, the potato plants were populated with 10 larvae of the species Leptinotarsa decemlineata (L3 stage). A plastic cylinder was then placed over the plant to prevent the larvae from migrating. A copper gauze lid served as the end. The feeding damage was determined after 2 days.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed in the above experiment a positive antioxidant effect (only slight damage caused by eating).
Example 4
Action against Spodoptera littoralis
Two 15 cm high cotton plants were sprayed with 25 ml of a solution containing 0.1% test substance (acetone / water 1: 1). After drying, 5 larvae of the species Spodoptera littoralis (L3 stage) were placed on each plant.
A plastic cylinder was placed over the plant and sealed with a copper gauze cover. The feeding damage was determined after 2 days.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed a good antifriction effect in the above test (only slight damage caused by feeding).
Example 5
Effect against Lucilia sericata
2 ml of an aqueous solution containing 0.1% test substance are added to 2 ml of a growth medium. Now approx. 30 freshly hatched Lucilia sericata larvae are added to the culture medium and after 96 hours the insecticidal activity is determined by determining the kill rate.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed good activity against Lucilia sericata larvae in the above test.
Example 6
Effect against Musca domestica
50 g CSMA substrate each were weighed into beakers. From a 1% acetone solution, 2.5 ml per active substance were pipetted twice onto 50 g of maggot substrate. After the mixed substrate has been mixed, the solvent is allowed to evaporate. 25 1-, 2-, 3-day maggots and approx. 50 fly eggs were then set up per active ingredient. After the pupation was completed, the dolls were washed out and counted. After 10 days, the number of flies hatched was determined and any influence on the metamorphosis was determined.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed a good activity against Musca domestica in the above test.
Example 7
Effect against Aedes aegypti larvae
Approximately 20 2-day larvae of the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) were set up in a beaker containing a solution of the active substance (concentration 5 ppm). The cup was then covered with a strainer lid. After the control animals had completed their moult, the test animals were examined and the percentage of normal adults compared to the control was determined.
Compounds according to Example 1 showed a good activity against Aedes aegypti larvae in this test.
