63.9 g of 1-isopropyl-1,2,4-triazolyl (3) benzoate with a melting point of
85-87 "C (prepared from 1-isopropyl-3-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole and benzoyl chloride) are refluxed for 48 hours together with 53.4 g of N-bromosuccinimide and 0.2 g of azoisobutyronitrile in 550 ml of carbon tetrachloride After cooling to 0 C, the deposited precipitate is filtered off with suction and heated to 75 ° C in 600 ml of water. The undissolved portion is filtered off and dried in vacuo. 40 g of 1-isopropyl-5-bromo-1,2,4-triazolyl- (3) -benzoate are obtained in the form of light beige crystals with a melting point of 125 to 1300 C.
1950 ml of 2N NaOH are added to 361 g of this intermediate product and the mixture is heated to 60 ° C. for 16 hours. The solution, cooled to 20 ° C., is clarified by filtration with activated charcoal over Hyflo and the filtrate is acidified with 390 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid in 2000 ml of water -Isopropyl-5-bromo 3-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole in the form of white crystals with a melting point of 155 to 157 C.
g) 1-Isopropyl-5-fluoro-3-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole
16.2 g of 1-isopropyl-5-chloro-3-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole are heated to 160 to 200 ° C. for 16 hours together with 29 g of dry potassium fluoride and 150 ml of sulfolane. After the solvent has been evaporated off in a high vacuum, the residue is mixed with 10% strength acetic acid and extracted with ethyl acetate. The solid remaining after the ethyl acetate has evaporated is recrystallized from water, 1-isopropyl-5-fluoro-3-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole being obtained in the form of white crystals with a melting point of 8095.degree. For further purification, the product can be recrystallized from an organic solvent.

Example 2
A. Insecticidal feed poison effect
Tobacco and potato plants were sprayed with a 0.05% aqueous active substance emulsion (obtained from a 10% emulsifiable concentrate).
After the coating had dried on, the tobacco plants were populated with owl caterpillars (Spodoptera litoralis) and the potato bushes with Colorado beetle larvae (Leptinotarsa de cemlineata). The experiment is carried out at 24 C and 60% relative humidity.
The compounds according to Example 1 showed above
Test of the action of food poison against Spodoptera littoralis and Lepti notarsa decemlineata.
B. Systemic insecticidal effect
To determine the systemic effect, rooted bean plants (Vicia faba) were placed in a 0.01% aqueous active ingredient solution (obtained from a 10% emulsifiable concentrate). After 24 hours, aphids (Aphis fabae) were placed on the above-ground parts of the plant. The animals were protected from contact and gas effects by a special device. The experiment was carried out at 24 C and 70% relative humidity.
In the above experiments, the compounds according to Example 1 showed insecticidal food poison action and systemic insecticidal action.
Example 3
Effect against Chilo suppressalis
6 rice plants of the Caloro variety were transplanted into plastic pots with an upper diameter of 17 cm and raised to a height of about 60 cm. The infestation with Chilo suppressalis larvae (L,; 3-4 mm long) took place 2 days after the addition of the active ingredient in granulate form (application rate 8 kg active ingredient per hectare) in the paddy water. The insecticidal activity was evaluated 10 days after the granules had been added.
The compounds according to Example 1 were effective against Chilo suppressalis in the above test.
Example 4
Sterilized compost became homogeneous with a
Wettable powder containing 25% active ingredient mixed so that a
Application rate of 8 kg of active ingredient per hectare resulted.
With the treated soil, young zucchetti plants (Cucumis pepo) were potted in plastic pots (three plants per pot with a diameter of 7 cm). Each pot was immediately afterwards with 5 Aulacophora femoralis larvae, respectively. Pachmoda or Chortophila larvae infected. The
Control was added at 4, 8, 16 and 32 days after the onset
Larvae carried.
At 80-100% death after the first control, a new infestation was carried out with 5 larvae each in the same soil pattern with 3 new courgette plants. If the effect was less than 80%, the remaining animals remained in the
Test earth until the next inspection. If a substance caused 100% destruction at an application rate of 8 kg / ha, then a follow-up test with 4 resp. 2 kg active ingredient / ha.
In the above test, the compounds according to Example 1 showed activity against Aulacophora femoralis, Pachmoda and Chlortophila larvae.
Example 5
Action against ticks A. Rhipicephalus bursa
5 adult ticks or 50 tick larvae were counted in a glass tube and immersed for 1 to 2 minutes in 2 ml of an aqueous emulsion from a dilution series with 100, 10, 1 and 0.1 ppm test substance each. The tube was then closed with a standardized cotton ball and turned upside down so that the active ingredient emulsion could be absorbed by the cotton wool.
The evaluation was carried out after 2 weeks for the adults and after 2 days for the larvae. Two repetitions were run for each attempt.
B. Boophilus microplus (larvae)
With an analogous dilution series as in test A, 20 sensitive resp. OP-resistant larval experiments were carried out. (The resistance refers to the tolerance of Diazinon.)
The compounds according to Example 1 were active in these tests against adults and larvae of Rhipicephalus bursa and sensitive, respectively. OP-resistant larvae of Boophilus microplus.
Example 6
Acaricidal effect
Phaseolus vulgaris (French beans) were coated with an infected piece of leaf from a mass cultivation of Tetranychus urticae 12 hours before the test for acaricidal activity. The overflowing mobile stages were dusted with the emulsified test preparations from a chromatography atomizer so that the spray mixture did not run off. After two to 7 days, larvae, adults and eggs were evaluated under the binocular for laying and dead individuals and the result was expressed as a percentage. During the holding time, the treated plants stood in greenhouse cabins at 25 "C.
In the above test, the compounds according to Example 1 were effective against adults, larvae and eggs of Tetranichus urticae.
Example 7
Effect against soil nematodes
To test the action against soil nematodes, the active ingredients were given in the specified concentration in soil infected by root cell nematodes (Meloidogyne arenaria) and mixed intimately. In the soil prepared in this way, tomato seedlings were planted immediately afterwards in one test series and tomatoes were sown in another test series after a waiting period of 8 days.
To assess the nematocidal effect, the galls present on the roots were counted 28 days after planting or after sowing.
In this test, the active ingredients according to Example 1 showed a good effect against Meloidogyne Arenaria.
