EMI3.4
**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
It has been found that naphthoquinone compounds of the formula
EMI1.1
wherein R, halogen, nitro, alkoxy or an optionally substituent-bearing amino group, R2 is the atomic group optionally bearing substituents which is necessary to complete a mononuclear or 2-ring system of aromatic character and which no longer contains any further heteroatoms, R3 is an optionally substituent-bearing s-triazinyl or Pyrimidyl radical and n are 0, 1 or 2, but the molecule is free of carboxylic acid and sulfonic acid groups, excellent as pigments, especially for coloring plastics, or as emulsion paints, for coloring, padding or printing fibers, threads or the materials made from them made of fully or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high molecular weight organic substances.
The process for preparing these new dyes is characterized in that one mole of a compound of the formula
EMI1.2
wherein Hal is chlorine or bromine, with 1 mole of a compound of the formula
EMI1.3
in which R4 is alkyl, phenyl, alkoxy, phenoxy or amino which may or may not carry substituents, and at least 3 mol of a compound of the formula
EMI1.4
reacted with one another by a condensation reaction. Suitable substituents on the amino groups of the molecule of the formula (I) are preferably alkyl and / or phenyl radicals, but also acyl radicals, the alkyl and phenyl radicals in turn being able to carry substituents, in particular hydroxyl or alkoxy groups.
R2 preferably denotes a radical of the formula
EMI1.5
as a substituent z. B. halogen, which is to be understood in particular as chlorine or bromine, can carry methyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, nitro, acyl, acyloxy or acylamino.
As substituents on the carbon atoms of the pyrimidyl or s-triazinyl radical R3, for. B. possible: fluorine, chlorine, bromine, alkyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, hydroxy and optionally, as indicated above, amino groups bearing substituents.
All of the alkyl and alkoxy radicals mentioned preferably contain 1, 2, 3 or 4 carbon atoms and can be used as substituents e.g. B. chlorine, bromine, alkoxy, phenoxy, acyl, acyloxy or acylamino carry. The phenyl radicals on the molecule can have these substituents and z. B. still carry alkyl, cyano or nitro groups.
Preferred acyl groups correspond to the formula R-Yor R'-Z-, in which R denotes a hydrocarbon radical which can carry the substituents listed above and / or may contain heteroatoms, preferably an alkyl or phenyl radical optionally (as stated above) bearing substituents, Y a radical - O-CO- or -SO2-, R 'is a hydrogen atom or R, Z is a radical -CO-, -NR "CO or -NRnSO2- and R" is a hydrogen atom or R.
The condensation of the compounds of formulas (II), (III) and (IV) takes place either in an inert organic solvent, e.g. B. methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, dioxane, dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, benzene, toluene, xylene (mixture), nitrobenzene or chlorobenzenes, or in an excess of the compound of formula (IV) at temperatures between 20 and 250 "C, preferably between 50 and 200 "C, instead.
The compounds of formula (III) can, for. B. by condensing one mole of a compound of the formula R4-CO-CH2-CO-R'4 (V) in which R'4 has one of the possible meanings of R4, with 1 mole of trihalogen-s-triazine or tri- or tetrahalopyrimidine, where halogen is to be understood here in particular as chlorine or bromine, are produced. If R3 is not to be substituted or not only by halogen, one or more of the remaining halogen atoms is then exchanged in a known reaction (nucleophilic exchange). Amines react easily directly with the halogen compound, hydrocarbon residues are in the form of organometallic compounds, e.g. B. Grignard compounds, reacted with the halotriazinyl or pyrimidyl compounds.
This leads to compounds of the formula
EMI1.6
which easily lose a radical R4-CO (or R'4-CO-) through hydrolytic cleavage and thus correspond to formula (III).
The new naphthoquinone compounds are, especially after the usual for pigment dyes Konditionie tion, z. B. for coloring plastic masses, which are solvent-free and solvent-containing masses made of plastics or synthetic resins (in paints on an oily or aqueous basis, in varnishes of various types, for spin dyeing of viscose or cellulose acetate, for pigmenting polyethylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, rubber and synthetic leather), suitable. They can also be used in printing inks for the graphic industry, for pulp dyeing, for coating textiles or for pigment printing.
The dyeings obtained have excellent migration and lightfastness, are very fast to overpainting and solvents, and are distinguished by good transparency and heat resistance.
Many of the new compounds are also excellent disperse dyes; for this purpose, however, they are preferably converted into dye preparations.
The processing of the new compounds of the formula (I) to dye preparations is carried out in a generally known manner, e.g. B. by grinding in the presence of dispersants and / or fillers. The preparations, optionally dried in a vacuum or by atomization, can be used for dyeing, padding or printing in what is known as a long or short liquor by adding more or less water. The dyes are extremely well absorbed from aqueous suspension on textile material made of fully synthetic or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high molecular weight organic substances. They are particularly suitable for dyeing or printing textile material made from linear, aromatic polyesters and from cellulose 2'k acetate, cellulose triacetate and synthetic polyamides.
One dyes or prints according to known, z. B.
the method described in French patent specification No. 1,445,371.
The dyeings obtained have good all-round fastness properties; The light fastness, the heat-setting, sublimation and pleating fastness are to be emphasized. They are excellent wetfast, e.g. B. water, sea water, washing and sweat-proof, solvent-proof, especially dry-cleaning-proof, lubricant, rubbing, over-dyeing, ozone, smoke gas and chlorine law; they are extremely resistant to the effects of the various permanent pressing processes and the so-called Soleil release equipment.
It should also be mentioned that the new dyes of the formula (I) also have excellent properties as vat dyes and, since they are oil-soluble in this field of application as well.
In the following examples, the parts are parts by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
A mixture of 140.5 parts of 2-chloro- (4 ', 6'-dihydroxy-

The new pigment gives polyvinyl chloride a bluish-tinted red coloration with excellent light and migration fastness.
2-Chloro- (4 ', 6'-dihydroxy-1', 3 ', 5'-triazinyl) -acetylaminobenzene can be prepared as follows:
A solution of 396 parts of cyanuric chloride in 1000 parts of dioxane is slowly introduced into 1000 parts of an ice-water mixture with stirring. A mixture of 427 parts of 2-chloroacetoacetylaminobenzene, 920 parts of water and 80 parts of sodium hydroxide is added very slowly (over the course of 40 minutes) at 0 to 5 to the resulting mixture. The mixture is stirred for a further 30 minutes at the stated temperature and filtered.
The precipitate is washed with ice-cold water, then taken up in 5000 parts of ethanol and refluxed for 20 hours with stirring. After cooling to 20, the precipitate is filtered, washed several times with hot water and dried at 100 "in vacuo.
The product thus obtained corresponds to the formula
EMI2.2
which is proven by elemental analysis.

The pigment obtained in this way colors polyvinyl chloride in orange shades with excellent fastness properties.
4-ChlorX4 ', 6'-dihydroxy-1', 3 ', 5'-triazinyl) acetylaminobenzene was obtained analogously to the process described in Example 1 for the preparation of the 2-chlorobenzene compound using the corresponding 4-chloroanilide.
Application example
0.2 parts of the pigment obtained in Example 1 and 5 parts of titanium dioxide pigment are mixed with a mixture of 63 parts of polyvinyl chloride emulsion, 32 parts of dioctyl phthalate,
3 parts of a commercially available epoxy plasticizer,
1.5 parts of a commercially available stabilizer, (barium-cadmium complex) and
0.5 parts of a commercially available chelator were thoroughly stirred and heated to 1600 in a roller mill between two rollers. The rollers rotate at 20 or 25 revolutions per minute, which creates a friction effect and thus excellent pigment distribution.
The mixture is finally peeled off as a 0.3 mm thick film which is colored in a bluish red shade with excellent lightfastness and migration fastness.
