**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
It has been found that naphthoquinone compounds of the formula
EMI1.1
wherein
R1 halogen, nitro, alkoxy or an amino group optionally bearing substituents,
R2 the one necessary to complete a 1- or 2-ring system of aromatic character, none
EMI1.2
as a substituent e.g. Halogen, which is to be understood in particular as chlorine or bromine, can carry methyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, nitro, acyl, acyloxy or acylamino.
As substituents on the carbon atoms of the pyrimidyl or s-triazinyl radical R3, for. B. possible: fluorine, chlorine, bromine, alkyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, hydroxy and optionally, as indicated above, amino groups bearing substituents.
All of the alkyl and alkoxy radicals mentioned preferably contain 1, 2, 3 or 4 carbon atoms and can be used as substituents e.g. B. chlorine, bromine, alkoxy, phenoxy, acyl, acyloxy or acylamino carry. The phenyl radicals on the molecule can also contain these substituents and e.g. still carry alkyl, cyano or nitro groups.
Preferred acyl groups correspond to the formula R-Y or R'-Z- therein
R is a hydrocarbon radical which can carry the abovementioned substituents and / or can contain heteroatoms, preferably an alkyl or phenyl radical which may optionally (as stated above) carry substituents,
Y is a radical -O-CO- or -SO2-,
R 'is a hydrogen atom or R,
Z is a radical -CO-, -NR "CO- or -NR" SO2- and
R "is a hydrogen atom or R.
The process for preparing these new dyes is characterized in that one mole of a compound of the formula
EMI1.3
atomic groups containing more heteroatoms, optionally bearing substituents,
R3 is an s-triazinyl or pyrimidyl radical, which may have substituents, and n is 0.1 or 2, but the molecule is free of carboxylic acid and sulfonic acid groups, excellent as pigments, especially for coloring plastic compounds, or as dispersion dyes, for coloring, padding or Printing on fibers, threads or the materials made from them made of fully or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high-molecular organic substances are suitable.
Suitable substituents on the amino groups of the molecule of the formula (I) are preferably alkyl and / or phenyl radicals, but also acyl radicals, it being possible for the alkyl and phenyl radicals in turn to carry substituents, in particular hydroxyl or alkoxy groups.
R2 preferably denotes a radical of the formula
EMI1.4
where Hal is chlorine or bromine,
096 with 1 mole of a compound of the formula
EMI1.5
where X is chlorine, bromine or iodine, condenses.
The condensation can be carried out in an inert organic solvent, preferably aliphatic or cyclic ethers boiling above 50 C, e.g. B. glycol dimethyl or diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran or dioxane take place.
However, the compound of the formula (III) is preferably formed in situ in the reaction mixture, which is achieved by addition of a compound of the formula
EMI1.6
with a compound of the formula
EMI2.1
or by a King reaction, in which a compound of the formula (V) with a compound of the formula
R3-CH3 (VI) is reacted in the presence of chlorine or preferably bromine or iodine. In both of these cases it is advisable to work with at least a three-fold excess of the compound of the formula (V) or to use this alone as a solvent.
The reactions generally take place between 20 "and 250" C, preferably between 500 and 200 ° C.
The new naphthoquinone compounds are, especially after the conditioning customary for pigment dyes, e.g. for coloring plastic compounds, which means solvent-free and solvent-containing compounds made of plastic or synthetic resins (in paints on an oily or water-based basis, in varnishes of various types, for spin dyeing viscose or cellulose acetate, for pigmenting polyethylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, rubber and synthetic leather) , suitable. They can also be used in printing inks for the graphic industry, for paper pulp coloring, for coating textiles, or for pigment printing.
The dyeings obtained are outstandingly fast to migration and light, have very good fastness to overcoating and solvents and are distinguished by good transparency and heat resistance.
Many of the new compounds are also excellent disperse dyes; for this purpose, however, they are preferably converted into dye preparations.
The processing of the new compounds of the formula (I) into coloring preparations is carried out in a generally known manner, e.g.
by grinding in the presence of dispersants and / or fillers. The preparations, optionally dried in vacuo or by atomization, can be used for dyeing, padding or printing in what is known as a long or short liquor by adding more or less water. The dyes are absorbed from aqueous suspension on textile material made of fully synthetic or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high molecular weight organic substances. They are particularly suitable for dyeing or printing textile material made from linear, aromatic polyesters and from cellulose 2 1/2 acetate, cellulose triacetate and synthetic polyamides.
One dyes or prints according to known, z. B. the method described in French Patent No. 1,445,371.
The dyeings obtained have good general fastness properties; to be emphasized are the lightfastness, the thermofixing, sublimation and pleating fastness. They are excellent wet fast, z. B. water, sea water, washing and sweat-proof, solvent-proof, especially dry-cleaning-proof, lubricant, rubbing, over-dyeing, ozone, smoke gas and chlorine law; they are extremely resistant to the effects of the various permanent pressing processes and the so-called a soil release equipment.
It should also be mentioned that the new dyes of the formula (I) also have excellent properties as vat dyes and, since they are oil-soluble, also in this field of application.
In the following example, the parts are parts by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
A mixture of 50.8 parts of iodine, 25 parts of 2,6-diamino-4-methyl-1,3,5-triazine and 250 parts of pyridine are heated to 100 "and stirred for 2 hours. Then, at the specified temperature, in the course of 45.4 parts of 2,3 dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone were added over a period of 40 minutes and the reaction mixture was stirred for a further 2 hours. The insoluble precipitate is then filtered off at 200, washed first with dimethylformamide and then with ethanol until the filtrate is colorless The residue is then taken up in 1000 parts of water, partially dissolving, heated to 100 ", adjusted to pH 12 by slowly adding sodium carbonate, the insoluble, red pigment filtered, washed neutral with water and dried at 120 ° in vacuo.
It conforms to the formula
EMI2.2
and meets the highest authenticity requirements.
Application example
0.2 parts of the pigment obtained in Example 1 and 5 parts of titanium dioxide pigment are mixed with
63 parts of polyvinyl chloride emulsion,
32 parts of dioctyl phthalate,
3 parts of a commercially available epoxy plasticizer,
1.5 parts of a commercially available stabilizer (barium cadmium complex) and
0.5 parts of a commercially available chelator are thoroughly stirred and heated to 160 "in a roller frame between two rollers. The rollers rotate at 20 or 25 revolutions per minute, which results in a friction effect and thus excellent pigment distribution.
The mixture is finally peeled off as a 0.3 mm thick film which is colored in a red shade with excellent fastness to light and migration.
The table below shows further dyes of the formula
EMI2.3
indicated, which are prepared analogously to the procedure of Example 1.
