EMI2.4

Anion A is understood to mean both organic and inorganic ions, such as, for. B. halogen, such as chloride, bromide or iodide; Sulfate, disulfate; Methyl sulfate, aminosulfonate, perchlorate, carbonate, bicarbonate, phosphate, phosphotungstate, phosphotungstamolybdate, benzenesulfonate, naphthalene sulfonate, 4-chlorobenzenesulfonate, 4-methylbenzenesulfonate, acetate, malein, oxalate, acetate -, propionate, methanesulfonate, chloroacetate or benzoate ions or complex anions, such as that of chlorozinc double salts. The quaternization can be carried out by methods known per se, e.g. B. in an inert solvent or optionally in aqueous suspension or without a solvent in an excess of the quaternizing agent at elevated temperatures and in a buffered medium.
Quaternizing agents are, for example, alkyl halides, e.g. B. methyl or ethyl chloride, bromide or iodide, alkyl sulfates such as dimethyl sulfate, acrylic acid amides / hydrohalides, e.g. B. CH2 = CH-CO-NH2 / HCI, epoxides such as ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, epichlorohydrin, etc.
The compounds of the formula (I) are preferably free from water-solubilizing substituents, in particular from sulfonic acid groups, but can carry a carboxyl group.
Halogen in any case means bromine, fluorine or iodine, but preferably chlorine.
Alkyl radicals usually contain 1 to 12, or 1 to 6 and preferably 1 to 4 carbon atoms. If these radicals are substituted, they contain in particular halogen atoms, hydroxyl or cyano groups or aryl radical, such as, for example, phenyl radicals; In such cases, alkyl represents an aralkyl radical, e.g. B. a benzyl radical.
Aryl radicals such as phenyl. Naphthyl or tetrahydronaphthyl radicals are in particular substituted by halogen atoms, hydroxyl or cyano groups, by alkyl or alkoxy radicals or by aryl radicals such as phenyl radicals.
Alkoxy radicals contain, for example, 1 to 6 and preferably 1 to 3 carbon atoms.
Hydrocarbon radicals are, for example, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl and aryl radicals, e.g. B. cyclohexyl or phenyl radicals.
Substituents which do not make water soluble are, for example, halogen atoms, optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy radicals, preferably low molecular weight, e.g. B.
1 to 3 carbon atoms containing alkyl or alkoxy radicals, the cyano or nitro group, an optionally substituted alkyl or arylsulfonyl group, e.g. B. a methyl, ethyl or phenylsulfonyl radical, an acylated amino group, a substituted sulfonic acid amide group, e.g. B. a disubstituted sulfonic acid amide group, etc.
Heterocyclic, preferably 5- or 6-membered ring systems that form the skeleton
EMI3.1
These are based, for example, on thiazoles, such as benzothiazoles, thiadiazoles, indazoles, imidazoles, oxazoles, isoxazoles, pyrazoles, pyridines, quinolines, etc.
Compounds of the formula (II) can be obtained if the diazo compound is obtained from a heterocyclic amine with a coupling component of the formula
EMI3.2
clutch. Compounds of the formula (IX) can be obtained if an optionally substituted 1-amino-2-halobenzene is reacted with 1 or 2 moles of an acrylamide.
The new dyes are used for dyeing or printing fibers, threads or textiles made therefrom, which consist of or contain acrylonitrile polymers or copolymers.
You can also dye or print synthetic polyamides or synthetic polyesters which have been modified by acidic groups. Such polyamides are known, for example, from Belgian patent specification 706 104.
The corresponding polyesters are known from US Pat. No. 3,018,272 or 3,379,723.
They are also used to color plastic masses or leather or to color paper.
It is particularly advantageous to dye in an aqueous, neutral or acidic medium at temperatures of 60-100 "C. or at temperatures above 100" C. under pressure. Very level colorations are obtained here even without the use of retarders. Mixed fabrics which contain a proportion of polyacrylonitrile fibers can also be dyed very well. Those dyes which have good solubility in organic solvents are also suitable for coloring natural plastic compositions or dissolved or undissolved plastic, synthetic resin or natural resin compositions. Individual or new dyes can, for. B. can be used to dye tannin cotton, regenerated cellulose or synthetic polyamides. It has been shown that mixtures of two or more of the new dyes can also advantageously be used.
The dyeings obtained have good light fastness and good wet fastness properties.
Compared to the closest comparable dyes from US Pat. No. 3,132,132, the dyes of the formula (1), also colored on polyacrylonitrile, have better lightfastness or better leveling properties.
In the following example, parts are parts by weight, percentages are percentages by weight. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.

are stirred in 100 parts of glacial acetic acid and treated with 1.1 parts of magnesium oxide. The mixture is heated to 60-70. 6.3 parts of dimethyl sulfate are then added dropwise over 30 minutes and the mixture is then stirred at 70-75 ° C. for 3 hours. The mass is then poured into 1000 parts of water and the dye is isolated by adding 50 parts of sodium chloride and 7 parts of zinc chloride The dye is filtered off and washed and dyes polyacrylonitrile in level blue shades with good lightfastness and good wetfastness.
Dyeing instructions:
20 parts of the dye from Example 1 are mixed with 80 parts of dextrin in a ball mill for 48 hours. 1 part of the preparation thus obtained is made into a paste with 1 part 400 / acetic acid, 200 parts of demineralized water are poured over the paste and briefly boiled.
It is diluted with 7000 parts of demineralized water, 2 parts of glacial acetic acid are added and at 60, 100 parts of polyacrylonitrile fabric are added to the bath. The material can be pretreated beforehand for 10 to 15 minutes at 60 in a bath consisting of 8000 parts of water and 2 parts of glacial acetic acid.
The mixture is heated to 98-100 within 30 minutes, boiled for 1 hour and rinsed. A blue dyeing with good lightfastness and good wet fastness properties is obtained.
