Device for lifting a load using a crane
The present invention relates to a device for lifting a load using a crane, comprising a hollow beam from which the load is intended to be suspended and automatically ensuring a horizontal position for the beam when the latter is lifted by the crane pull cable.
In most of the known devices of this type, hydraulic or pneumatic controls are used requiring relatively complicated mechanisms, bulky and of a high cost.
The aim of the present invention is to provide such a device of simple construction making it possible to avoid many of the drawbacks of known devices.
The device according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that it comprises a threaded rod mounted for rotation in bearings inside the beam, a shackle, one threaded part of which is screwed onto the threaded rod and the other of which part protrudes out of the beam through a slot to be hung on the hook of the crane, an electric motor integral with the beam for driving the threaded rod by means of gears, a mounted hook movable on the beam on either side of said slot, and a three-position control switch, responsive to an inclination from the horizontal direction for controlling the electric motor, all in such a way that when a load suspended from the hooks of the beam tilts when lifting,
the switch closes the circuit of the electric motor which drives the threaded rod in a determined direction, in turn moving the shackle until the crane cable is aligned with the center of gravity of the load.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a general elevational view of this device.
Fig. 2 is a section on a larger scale taken along the line A-A of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a view from above of a detail of FIG. 1 on the same scale as in FIG. 2.
The device shown is intended for lifting a load using a crane. This device comprises a hollow beam 1 from which a load is intended to be suspended and automatically ensuring a horizontal position for the beam when the latter is lifted by the traction cable of the crane. The beam is formed of two U-shaped profiles arranged edge to edge and connected at their upper part by two plates 2, 2 'extending from one end of the profiles to the immediate vicinity of a slot 3 formed in the central part of the beam. beam. A threaded rod 4 is rotatably mounted in the hollow beam 1. Bearings 5, 5 'are fixed for this purpose inside this beam, to receive the smooth ends of the threaded rod 4.
A shackle 6, a threaded part 7 of which is screwed onto the threaded rod 4 protrudes out of the beam 1 through the slot 3 to be hung on the hook 8 of the crane.
An electric motor 9 is fixed to a bracket 10 welded to the beam 1 to leave a free space between the latter and the motor 9. This motor is used to drive the threaded rod by means of a toothed wheel 11. meshing with a pinion 12 wedged on the corresponding end of the threaded rod 4. A three-position control switch 13, sensitive to the horizontal direction, is mounted on the motor 9 of which it controls the direction of rotation.
Towards each end of the beam 1 is disposed a hook 14, 14 'intended to receive slings attached to a load not shown. Each hook 14, 14 'is integral with a frame 15, 15' of rectangular section, surrounding the beam 1, the two frames 15, 15 'being connected by cables 16 and 17 of constant length, each passing over a pulley 18 , 18 'horizontal, arranged at the end of the beam 1. The frames 14, 14' can be blocked in the desired position by a pin 19, 19 'passing through one of the holes 20, 20' of the corresponding plate 2, 2 '. The hooks 14, 14 'can, thanks to the arrangement of the cables 16 and 17, be displaced symmetrically with respect to the middle of the beam 1.
The spacing of the hooks 14, 14 'depends on the length of the load that is to be lifted and therefore on the spacing of the attachment points of the slings.
When an asymmetric load is to be lifted, the hooks 14, 14 'are brought directly over the attachment points and are locked by means of the pegs 19, 19'. The slings are attached to the load and to the hooks 14, 14 '. When the load is lifted the beam 1 momentarily assumes an inclined position, which causes the actuation of the switch 13 and thereby the control of the running of the motor in one direction.
The threaded rod 4 is driven in one direction and therefore moves the shackle 6 relative to the middle of the beam 1. The shackle 6 is moved until the hook 8 of the crane is directly over the center of the beam. gravity of the lifted load. At this moment the beam 1 returns to its horizontal position and the switch 13 interrupts the circuit of the motor 9.
A very important characteristic of the device described lies in the fact that in the event of a defect in one of the mechanical members, the position of the shackle 6 on the threaded rod 4, and consequently the position of the beam 1, remains the same as that taken when the fault occurs. This is made possible by the screw arrangement which prevents slipping of the crane hook or load suspension hooks.
