Shock-absorbing bearing for small mechanical shaft The present invention relates to a shock-absorbing bearing, usable in small mechanical engineering, to the exclusion of the field of time measurement.
This bearing is characterized by the fact that it comprises a bearing through which said shaft passes right through, this bearing resting in a seat constituted by a surface of revolution which a bearing support has, and by the fact that said bearing is hand held applied to said seat by an elastic device acting on it by means of an intermediate piece having on the one hand a cylindrical part by means of which it is guided so as to slide axially, without tilting, in the bearing bracket,
and on the other hand a flat bearing surface, perpendicular to the axis of the bearing, by which it bears on the bearing, which thus moves parallel to itself, without tilting, the axial stop of the shaft being provided by means independent of said pad and of its return device.
The drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are two axial sections of two embodiments of shock-absorbing bearings for small mechanical shafts.
The bearing shown in fig. 1 comprises a support 1 intended to be driven into the frame of the apparatus on which the bearing is mounted. A cylindrical housing 2 is provided inside the support 1 and has a frustoconical seat 3 intended to receive a pad consisting of a pierced stone 4 surrounded by a kitten 5. The latter has a bearing surface 6, consisting of a portion of spherical surface, by which it rests on the seat 3.
The pad is held applied to the seat 3 by a coil spring 7 bearing on the one hand on a plug 8, forced into the bearing support 1, and on the other hand on an intermediate part 9 interposed between it and the kitten 5. This part 9 has the form of a sleeve, the cylindrical part of which is guided in the housing 2 so that this sleeve can slide axially without tilting, and the bottom 9a of which rests on the kitten 5.
To this end, the face of the latter in contact with the sleeve has a convex annular bearing surface 10, which reduces friction. These are further reduced owing to the fact that the sleeve 9 is made of steel and that the outer face of its base 9a,: perpendicular to the axis of the bearing and in contact with the bearing surface 10 of the chaton 5, is polished.
The shaft of the small mechanical mobile pivoted in the bearing described is designated by 11. Its shank 1 passes through the bearing described right through, and carries, at its end located beyond the bearing, a pinion 12. The. axial displacements that the shaft could undergo are limited by the fact that its front face 13 abuts against the bottom of the bearing support 1.
The lateral movements of the shaft 11 are damped - whether due to shocks or to simple vibrations - by the spring 7 which constantly tends to return the bearing to its central position. The maximum lateral movements of the shaft are limited by the edge of the central hole 14 made in the bottom of the support 1.
Provision could also be made for these lateral movements to be limited by the side wall of the housing 2 against which the part of: largest diameter of the kitten 5 would abut; this limitation of the lateral movements of the shaft 11 could also be ensured by a limitation of the axial movements of the sleeve 9 coming into abutment against the cover 8.
The embodiment of FIG. 2 differs from the first in that the shaft, designated by 15, has a shank 15a which crosses the bearing 4-5 right through but does not protrude from the bearing. Its end abuts against a counter-pivot stone 16 driven into the stopper of the bearing support 1, stopper designated by 17. Thus, the counter-pivot stone 16 limits the axial movements of the shaft 15. As for the rest, the same reference signs that in fig. 2 designate the same organs.
It should be noted that, in the two embodiments described, the axial stop device of the shaft is entirely independent of the bearing and of its return device.
