Up-and-over door The subject of the invention is a tilting door for closing off a bay, in particular a garage door.
The tilting door according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a panel comprising at least two guide elements cooperating, one with a horizontal guide, the other with a vertical guide.
The appended drawing represents a particular embodiment given by way of example of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic sectional view on a vertical plane.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of a structural detail taken along the line II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to FIG. 1, the door being in its open position.
The overhead door according to the invention is constituted by a panel 1 intended to close a bay. This panel 1 comprises, on each of its side walls, near its lower end, a roller 2 mounted idle on an axis 3. Each roller 2 is capable of sliding in a vertical slide 4 formed by a U-shaped iron integral with each of the uprights 5, bay.
On the panel 1 are fixed two bars 6 perpendicular to the plane of said panel 1 and whose free ends each carry a pulley 7 resting, each on a fixed horizontal rail 8 whose end opposite to the panel 1 is folded upwards. , so as to constitute a stop 9 intended to limit the movement of the pulley 7 on it.
Two vertical bars 10 are integral with the upper end of panel 1 and carry, near their end opposite said panel 1, a counterweight 11 making it possible to maneuver the door with less force than that which would normally be necessary. Finally, the bars 6 and 10 are joined by a spacer 12 whose end opposite the bar 10 is integral with the panel 1.
In fig. 3 the overhead door is shown in solid lines in its open position and in phantom lines an intermediate position.
The operation of the tilting door according to the invention is very simple. The door being closed, to open it it suffices to lift it vertically; its lower end will be guided by the rollers 2 which will slide in the guides 4, while the panel 1 will pivot around the pulleys 7 which will roll on the rails 8. It is easy to imagine that the counterweight 11 will facilitate this maneuver and that the obturation of the bay will be obtained easily by performing the reverse maneuver.
