Guillotine closure for bay. The object of the present invention is a guillotine closure for bay, characterized in that comprising at least two leaves mounted to pivot, one of these, adapted on at least one fixed horizontal part, being able to turn around of said part in articulated connection with one end of the second leaf, the other end of which can move vertically by pivoting about a horizontal axis, determined by at least one rod fixed to this leaf and provided with at least one roller , means being provided making it possible, on the one hand, to guide this roller and to compensate for the weight of the leaves and, on the other hand, to limit the amplitude of the movements of the latter, then to lock the window.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a foc-me execution of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a front elevational view thereof; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section showing two partially displaced leaves; Fig. 3 is a section along A-A of FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 is a section on B-B of FIG. 1.
The closure shown, more particularly intended for a window, has two leaves 1 and 2 joined together by an articulation 3.
The upper leaf 1 is adapted to pivot on two horizontal hinges 4 and 5, and can turn around them integrally with one of the ends 6 of the leaf 2, the other end of which 7 can move vertically by pivoting. around a horizontal axis determined by the rods 8, which are provided for this purpose with rollers 9 and 10 mounted on ball bearings. These rollers normally move in grooves 11 and 12 formed in the vertical uprights 13 and 14 of the window frame; they are held in the aforementioned grooves with the aid of boards 15 and 16 screwed against said amounts.
To each of the rods 8 is fixed one end of a cable 17, which passes over a pulley 18, and the other end of which is provided with a counterweight 19 making it possible to substantially balance the weight of the leaves 1 and 2. , so that when they receive an impulse from the bottom up by means of the handle 20, said counterweights are sufficient to ensure the complete opening of the window. In this case, the two leaves come to rest against each other at the top of the bay.
If, during opening, it is desired to limit the amplitude of the movement of the leaves, a tenon (not shown) is introduced into one of the orifices 21 provided in the window frame, which prevents one of the rods 8 from rising. and therefore stops the upward movement of leaves 1 and 2.
The window is locked by means of a cremone 22, capable of being actuated by means of a handle 23. Said cremone, adapted to the leaf 2, at its end articulated with the leaf 1, may come play in the mortises 24 and 25 provided in the uprights of the window frame.
The closure shown allows easy disassembly; it suffices for this purpose to unscrew the boards 15 and 16 and to remove the counterweights; each of the leaves can then be slid to the left or to the right.
It is obvious that the construction, given by way of example, can be modified within the framework of the claim, for example, it is possible to envisage, in order to limit the amplitude of the movements of the leaves, a variant, in which the rod comprising a roller being hollowed out, it is provided with a rod actuated by a spring, said rod being capable of engaging with a mesh holder adapted to one of the uprights of the frame of the opening to be closed; in addition, we can see four leaves and more for large windows.
The closure shown can also be used to close a furniture or garage door for example.
