Apparatus for dispensing a liquid or pasty product. The present invention relates to an apparatus for dispensing a liquid or pasty product comprising a reservoir intended to contain the product to be dispensed and a flexible tubular appendage.
provided with a discharge orifice, and a pressure mechanism arranged to crush at least a part of this appendage during the actuation of a control member alive to cause the expulsion of a load of said. produced by said orifice, apparatus characterized in that it comprises an indicating device controlled during the actuation of said pressure mechanism and intended to indicate the degree of emptying of the reservoir.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus which is the subject of the invention.
fia fig. 1 is an elevation, with partial section.
The ? is a partial perspective view. , The thread-. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 <in FIG. 1, with partial tearing.
ha fig. 4 is a section according to. line 4-4 of fig. 1.
The f ig. 5 is a detail view, on a larger scale and in section, showing the attachment of the flexible tube to the reservoir of this apparatus.
Fig. 6 is a detail view, on a larger scale and in section, of a variant of this binding. The apparatus shown is intended for the dispensing of liquid or pasty products, such as soap, toothpaste, shaving or beauty cream, maintenance and cleaning products, etc. It comprises, housed in a housing 1, a reservoir intended to contain the product to to dispense,: constituted by a removable container 2 having a nozzle 3, constituted by a flexible tube, provided at its end with 'a discharge port 4.
In the lower part of this box, delimited by a separating wall 5, there is a pressure mechanism comprising a roller 6 intended, during the displacement in one direction of a control lever 7, to come to crush the tip 3 then to roll on it in the direction of the orifice 4 in order to cause the latter to expel a load of product.
Eraser shown in fig. 1, 2 and 3, this roller 6 is. mounted on an axis 8 whose ends are on the path of the arms 9 of a movable fork 10 integral. an axis 11 pivoted between the side flanges 12 of the partition wall 5 and which carries, outside the housing 1, the control lever 7. The ends of this. axis 8 also cooperate with two cams 13 fixed on the inner face of the flanges 12 and which have the form of parallelograms.
In the rest position of the pressure mechanism, the fork 10 and the roller 6 are held in their upper position shown in FIG. 1 under the action of two torsion springs 14, the branches of which bear, one on the bottom of the housing 1 and the other under the axis 8. In this position, the roller 6 is slightly away from the end piece 3 which then has its normal cross section of circular shape.
When pressure is exerted on the control lever 7, the. fork 10 rotates in the direction of. arrow A (fig. 1) and the roller 6, guided by its axis, the ends of which do not feel in front of the cams 13, is brought into a position radially advanced with respect to the end piece 3 for which it crushes the latter against a plate stop 15 formed by one of the branches of a support 16 in the form of (J fixed by its base to the partition wall 1, then rolls on the crushed end piece 3, as shown in FIG. 2, by causing the expulsion of a charge of product through port 4.
When releasing the control lever 7, the mechanism is returned to its initial position by the springs 14, but due to this. of the shape of the cams 13, the ends of the axis 8 pass behind these cams and the end 3 then resumes a section of cir culaiTe shape, the product flowing. of the tank filling it again.
The movement of the fork 10 is limited by two pins 17 integral with one of the flanges 12 and the springs 14 are mounted on a pin 18 supported by lateral tabs 19 of the plate 15.
The pressure mechanism further comprises an indicating device for indicating the degree of draining of the tank of the apparatus. This device consists of a sawtooth toothed wheel 21 disposed on one end of an axis 22 provided at its center with a tangent screw 23 meshing with a toothed wheel 24 integral with an axis 25 pivoted in the support 16 and provided at its front end with a circular dial 26.
As shown in fig. 1, the toothing of the wheel 21 is in the path of the axis 8 during the downward movement of the roller, so that the passage of this axis consé cutive to the actuation of the control lever 7 causes the rotation, d 'a tooth and, in the sense of. arrow B in fig. 1, of the wheel 21, the axis 8, in the withdrawn position, passing out of reach of the, wheel 21 during its movement, back.
The toothing of the wheel 21 and the screw 23 / wheel 24 transmission ratio are established so that the dial 26 performs a little less than one revolution for a number of actuations of the mechanism corresponding substantially to the complete emptying of the tank see 2 , the dial 26 having on the front face a graduation moving opposite a window 27 provided in the front wall of the housing 1 and which makes it possible to control the degree of filling of the reservoir at all times without the need for 'open the housing.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the axis 22 carrying the screw 23 is pivoted in a bracket 28 which is itself pivoted at 29 on the plate 15 of the support 16, and a spring. return 31, in the form of a spiral and the ends of which are fixed, the iuie, to the axis 25 and, the other, to a pin 32 integral with the support 16, tends to oppose the rotation of the dial 26 in the sense of. arrow C (fit,, 3), corresponding. to that of wheel 21 in the direction of arrow B in FIG. 1.
A pusher 33, passing through the partition wall 5 and on which the reservoir 2 rests, normally maintains the caliper 28 in its position shown for which the screw 23 engages with the wheel 24. As a result. due to the irreversibility of the transmission, the spring 31 cannot return the dial 26 to its initial position as long as the screw 23 and the wheel 24 are. in take. The torque which it exerts on the axis 25 is however sufficient to automatically cause the release of the screw 23, following a slight rotation of the caliper 28, as soon as the pressure exerted on the latter by pusher 33.
The return spring 31 thus automatically ensures the return of the dial 26 to an initial position determined by the engagement of a stop 34 with a projection 35 provided on the edge of the dial, when withdrawing the container 2 constituting the tank, especially when replacing an empty container with another full one. In a variant, the pusher 33 could be replaced by a locking member actuated by the cover 36 of the housing and arranged so that the bracket 28 is hand held in the lower position as long as this cover is closed and that it is released, or even lifted by a spring for example, as soon as this cover is brought into the open position.
As indicated above, the container \ _ 'constituting the reservoir is. removable and can easily be removed from the housing 1 after opening the cover 36 of the latter. This receptacle has a tubular body 37 made of plastic, polyethylene or polystyrene for example, closed at its upper end by a welded bottom 38 and provided at its lower end with a molded head 39 (see FIG. 5) pierced with 'a central orifice in which is threaded the tubular end piece 3 constituting the flexible tube on which the pressure mechanism acts.
This tip, of significant length compared to its diameter (more than five times the latter) and which must have sufficient elasticity to withstand repeated crushing without excessive permanent deformation, is made of natural or sviitlietic rubber, and present at its base (Fig. 5) a retaining voller 43 resting on the inner face of the head 39 of the container and which has a diameter. sufficient so that the nozzle can be mounted on said head only from the inside of the container, before filling and closing the latter.
At the end of the end piece 3 is initially provided a sealed end part 44 pierced with a duct. blind 45 extending that of the end piece and of smaller diameter than the latter, the outside diameter of this part 44 being substantially smaller than that of the end piece in order to facilitate its cut -3u right. of the conduit 45, in order to provide the required discharge orifice 4-.
In the variant shown in fi-. 6, the container has a threaded neck 46 intended to receive a stopper, and the rubber nozzle 3 is detachably attached to said neck by means of a connector 47, made of plastic for example, this connector having a collar. peripheral 48 intended to come to bear on the pusher 33 when the receptacle is placed in the housing 1.
In a variant of this container, it is also possible to provide means allowing the definitive or momentary fixing of the flexible end in the device, by means of fixing means connecting the connector 47 to the partition wall 5 for example. , only the tube screwed into the connector 47 being, in this case, replaced when the device is charged.
For the distribution of pasty or high viscosity product, it can. be advised to give the body of the container constituting the tank a wall thickness sufficiently reduced so that it collapses under the effect of atmospheric pressure as it is emptied. This result is easier to obtain if the body of the container has the shape indicated in dotted lines, at 49, in FIG. 1.
It is. note that in the device shown, the product is not. in contact with any metal part and that the only part subject to appreciable wear and possibly to clogging, namely the end piece 3 constituting the flexible tube on which the pressure device acts, is automatically replaced when the. charge carried out by replacing the container 2 constituting the reservoir. In addition, the container.
in, plastic material used as reservoir constitutes an inexpensive packaging suitable for the. Most liquid and pasty products taken into account and which can also be used advantageously outside the device, in particular if a removable plug is provided at the end of its tip, or a screw thread on its head, intended, after cutting the end piece, to receive a closure cap.
