Installation for the protection of a steam generator superheater. The invention relates to an installation for the protection of a steam generator superheater, characterized by a relief valve connecting this superheater to the atmosphere, and by a device for controlling this valve as a function of the pressure of the steam in the steam generator. generator, the opening of this valve producing a circulation of steam through the superheater. The purpose of this circulation of steam is to avoid the risk of gunfire.
Two embodiments of the object of the invention and a variant of the first form are shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIGS. 1 and 2 respectively show in elevation and in plan a first embodiment of the installation.
Fig. 3 shows in vertical section a relief valve of this embodiment.
Fig. 4- is an elevation of this sub-pope.
Fig. 5 is a section of this valve along V-V of FIG. 4.
Fig. 6 shows a variant of this first embodiment.
Fig. 7 partially represents the second embodiment.
Fig. 8 is a sectional view of the control cylinder of the pilot valve of the installation of FIG. 7. The steam generator shown matically in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a saturated steam tank 61 fitted with safety valves 52 and 52 and a superheater 59 with outlet manifold 53.
A discharge valve 1 makes it possible to put the outlet drive neck 53 of the superheater into communication with the atmosphere through the exhaust pipe 60, and thus to protect the superheater 59 against gunshots by causing the flow to flow. at the desired time a certain quantity of steam through this superheater, so as to maintain the walls thereof under normal temperature conditions.
The shutter member 4 of the valve 1 is controlled by a control device 34, with a pilot valve, set to operate at a pressure slightly lower than the setting pressure of the safety valves 52, 52 mounted on the balloon 61 of the valve. boiler, such that when said pressure is reached, this device causes the opening of the holding member 4, so that a certain quantity of steam produced by the generator passes through the superheater and escapes to the atmosphere by pipe 60 following arrows f 1 (fig. 1).
The pilot valve 8 of the device 34, which is mounted on the valve 1, rests on the seat 10 mounted in a box 10 'fixed to the body of the relief valve 1. This valve has a rod 20 extending downwards and engaging in a piston 9, which itself rests on the stopper 18 supporting a vapor filter. A duct 36, communicating with a channel 2, connects the space located under the piston 9 to the tank 61 of the boiler. The piston 9 is therefore subjected to the vapor pressure prevailing upstream of the superheater.
A duct 12 puts in communication the space between the lower side of the pilot valve 8 and the upper end of the piston 9 with a chamber 6 formed behind the shutter member 4 (FIGS. 3 and 5). The member 4 com takes a sliding piston part with a certain clearance in a cylinder 71. The chamber 6 formed by an interior space of the piston part of the member 4 and by the rear end of the cylinder 71 com munique by said set with a channel 75 connected to the manifold 53 of the body of the valve 1. A bell lever 22 articulated on a pin 23 and biased by a return spring 24 is connected to the valve 8.
This lever is engaged in the caliper 25 fixed to a control rod 26; this rod is engaged in a sleeve 27 attached to the rod 31 of the pilot valve 8. A spring 11 tending to maintain the valve 8 on its seat is supported, on the one hand, on this sleeve 27 and, on the other hand, on a nut 28, screwed onto an inner tubular part 29 of a housing 30 containing the spring 11.
A protective cup 33 is threaded with gentle friction on the rod 31 of the pilot valve. When stationary, this protective cup rests, by its lower edge, on a shoulder formed inside the box 10 ', so that foreign bodies, dust or the like, cannot enter this box.
In its upward movement, the cup 33 rests on a seat 35- in the form of an inverted cup, the annular vertical wall of which is perforated with passage holes 32 coinciding with identical holes provided in the casing 30. These holes communicate with the atmosphere, the space between the cup 33 and its seat 35 (Figs. 3 and 4). The housing 30 is mounted on the box 10 '. This safety installation operates as follows: The pressure inside the balloon 61 acts through the pipe 36 and the channel 2 on the piston 9.
As soon as this pressure reaches a certain value, the pilot valve 8, pushed by the udder 9, rises and leaves its seat 10. The vapor which was enclosed in the space _ included under the underside of the valve 8, in the conduit 12 and chamber 6, escapes to atmosphere through holes 32, which results in a <B> - </B> drop in pressure in <B> (</B> chamber 6, causing the opening of the shutter or gane 4 and the exhaust will go scared coming from the collector along the arrow P40. Thus, a certain quantity of vapor coming from the flask 61 passes through the superheater 59 and escapes to the atmosphere through the pipe 60.
This steam circulating through the superheater 59 maintains the walls thereof under normal temperature conditions; which eliminates the risk of gunfire.
When the pressure in the balloon 61 drops, the valve 8 falls back on its seat 10 under the action of the spring 11, and this has the effect of increasing the pressure in the chamber 6 following the arrival. of steam coming from the channel 75 through the clearance between the piston part of the member 4 and the cylinder 71. This increase in pressure in the chamber 6 brings the member 4 back to its seat 74. A spring 77 acts on the member 4 in the direction of closure of the latter.
A chain 54, connected to the free end of the lever 22, allows. manually causing the valve 8 to be lifted and thus the opening: of the shutter member 4, as indicated above.
A chain 55 (fig. 1 and 5) makes it possible to remotely control the rotation of a flywheel 56 integral with an axis 57. The rotation of the axis! 57, screwed into the nut 73, brings it into contact with the shutter member 4 of the discharge valve and applies the latter on its seat 74.
In the variant to which FIG. 6, the channel 2 (fig. 3) of the control device 34 is connected to a distributor 39 by a pipe 41.
This distributor 39 has two taps 43 and 44. The tap 43 acts on the communication between the pipe 41 and soot pipe 42 connecting the distributor 39 to the tank 61 of the boiler. The valve 44 makes it possible to put the pipe 41 in communication with the atmosphere through the pipe 50.
For the rest, this variant is identical to the installation of FIGS. 1 to 5.
In normal service, the tap 43 is or green so as to ensure the connection of the channel 2 of the device 34 with the ball 61 of the. boiler, while the tap 44 is closed.
When the relief valve 1 is or green, it can be caused to. removes its closure by removing the steam supply to the device 34, that is to say under the piston 9, by closing the tap 43 and opening the tap 44. The steam pressure no longer acts on the piston 9; the valve 8 then falls back on its seat, which causes the valve 1 to close, as previously described.
In this variant, it is also possible to remotely cause the opening of the valve 1 at any pressure, even below that for which the spring 11 is adjusted, by acting on the distributor 39. Indeed, the piston 9 having a certain play in its randomness, if we close the tap 43 and open the tap 44, the steam contained in chamber 6, the pressure of which maintains the member 4 in the closed position, will leak through the play of the piston 9 and. will escape to the atmosphere, although the valve 9 remains closed. The taps 43 and 44 can be controlled by a single steering wheel or lever, to simultaneously perform the maneuvers described above.
In the installation of fig. 7 and 8, a tube in the form of a proboscis 45 opens into the exhaust box of the safety valve 52 of the balloon 61. This tube is connected to a cylinder 46 located at the top of the housing 30 of the control device. 34 of the discharge valve 1. In this cylinder slides a piston 47 integral with the rod 26 of the valve 8. The tube 45 opens into the cylinder 46 just under the piston 47. For the rest, this embodiment is identical to that of fig. 1. to 5.
If, for any reason, the safety valve 52 rises before the relief valve opens, the exhaust vapor taken from the horn-shaped tube 45 acts under the piston 47 and causes the opening. of the pilot valve 8, and consequently that of the relief valve 1.
