Flush device. The present invention relates to a flushing apparatus comprising a closed cistern, with an air bell, as well as a control member for producing the placing of this tank in communication with an evacuation pipe, to which is associated with a relief valve. the opening of which is -commanded by said control member and which closes automatically.
This: toilet flush device is. character ized by a braking device arranged to be put into action during the maneuver of said control member, and having as its purpose. determining the time interval which must separate the controlled opening and the automatic closing of said discharge valve.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section of the first embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a vertical .courge of part of the second embodiment. The flushing device according to fig. 1 comprises a reservoir 1, extended at its lower part by a socket 5.
The arrival of water can be made through. a shut-off valve 6 or by the pipe 7 rising in the tank to the. -air bell, either directly on the sleeve 5. The latter, which -is connected to the discharge pipe 8, carries a ferrule 9 which penetrates into. the tank and which has defusing openings 10 at its base.
This shell 9 is combined with a bell 11 which is carried by a hollow body 12, disposed axially in the sleeve, so that this bell 11 covering the upper part of the shell 9, constitutes, with the latter, a cylindrical siphon. annular.
The hollow body is secured in position in the shell 9 by means of the bearing 13, of the sleeve 5 which receives the. ball 14 of the control lever 15. The latter enters the hollow body 12 @ and engages, in order to effect its longitudinal movements, in an oblong slot 16, formed in the hollow piston rod 17.
This rod 17 carries, at its. lower part and on the outside of the hollow body, a valve 18 which controls the connection between the. socket: J extending the cistern and. the water drain line 3.
The rod 17 has, if # eonju- gating with. the internal wall of the hollow body 12, a stamped etanehéité packing for mant piston 19, which thus isolates, with the median gland 2tï, the. oi chamber (penetrates the arm of the control lever 1.5. The rod 17 passes through the stuffing box 20 and carries, it again, another sealing gasket playing the piston role 21.
This garnish thus forms two capacities: that, lower, is. in relationship with. the cistern by calibrated evacuation openings 22 and by a lateral filling valve 23 and cons titutes with the piston 21 a bydraLrlic or dash-pot brake, the other houses a spring 24 which is interposed between a shoulder 25 of the piston rod 17 and a circular rib 26 of the hollow body 12.
This spring 24 therefore tends to push the body down, that is to say to apply the valve 18 on its. seat, by interrupting the communication between the tank see 1 and the discharge pipe 8. The piston rod passes, finally, at its upper end, through the pi-este-étoupe which the hollow body has.
In the. The hollow rod of the pistons 17 is also housed a sliding rod 27 (it rests, by its lower part, located the said control lever arm there. This rod -) 7 carries, at its other end, a. valve 28 which, in the rest period, closes passages 29, provided in the wall forming the. piston rod. For the same purpose, the. rod \? It is provided with flats 30 playing an identical role.
Under these conditions, at rest, the orbals of this mechanism occupy the positions shown. To flush, -oii lower the control lever 15 which can then be left to itself. The positive travel of this lever determined, in the first place.
the displacement of the decompression rod 27. which opened. the upper valve 28 then, secondly, the lifting of the rod of the pistons 17. This last movement produced the opening of the discharge valve 18, which anis the reservoir 1, via the siphon, in relation with the discharge pipe 8.
At the same time, the spring 24 has been compressed, which determines the action of vant producing the subsequent closing of the pet valve 18 and the. end of emptying of tank 1. This closing will be delayed by the actuation of the hydraulic brake which opposes IL the action of the closing spring.
We see, in fact (read, during the upward stroke of piston 21, this brake is filled by the intermediate (the automatic valve 23. whereas, during the opposite stroke, the water, under the action of the spring, binds can .s'evacuated only through the calibrated orifices 22. Thus, it is possible to adjust the duration of the return of the organs to their rest position, and, in particular, 'the duration of opening of the valve 18, oc. (it adjusts the time during which the emptying of the tank takes place.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, we find the same members, but the two seals forming udders 31 have been placed, in opposite directions, side by side on the rod 17 operating them. These pistons 31 therefore produce, inside the hollow body 1, 2, two chambers: the lower one of the hydraulic brake, communicating with the reservoir, on the one hand, by an automatic filling valve 23, on the other part, through calibrated drain holes ??:
that, sul @ érieui-e, being joined to the pressurized water supply duct by pipe 32 and with the flushing tank by an automatic opening valve M . The closing spring 24 is housed in the rod of the piston 17 and it acts between the latter and the axial rod 27.
In the two embodiments described above, the positive maneuver of the control member is used to determine the start of the emptying phase> of the appliance, this operation continuing thereafter, automatically and during a predetermined period of time, without the negative stroke of the actuator intervening in this process.
