Additional patent to main patent no. 296669. Process for the production of an acidic wool dye. The subject of this patent is a process for the production of an acidic wool dye, which consists in adding 1 mol of the product obtained by condensation of 1 mol of 4,4'-dichlorobenzophenone with 1 mol of N-isobutyl-2- (p-chlorophenyl)
- 4.6 - dimethylindole available compound with 2 moles of 1-amino-4-methoxy-benzene-3-sulfonic acid.
The reaction takes place by heating the starting materials with or without the addition of solvents or fluxes, e.g. B. with the addition of glycol or similar compounds. For example, temperatures from 100 to 160 ° C can be used. The 1-amino-4-metlioxybenzene-3-sulfonic acid is used as a free acid or in the form of its alkali or. Used ammonium salts.
The new dye dyes wool in very clear, greenish blue shades of good lightfastness and a beautiful evening color. He has a good leveling power, good drawing power from acidic and neutral baths.
Example: 8.4 g of 4,4'-dichlorobenzophenone ketochloride are mixed with 7.5 g of N-isobutyl-2- (p-chlorophenyl) -4.6-dimethylindole, 4 g of zinc chloride and 3 g of 1,2-dichlorobenzene for 9 hours at 95 to 105 C. The melt becomes more and more viscous in the course of this time and is colored deep red at the end. The resulting condensation compound dissolves in glacial acetic acid or conc. Sulfuric acid with a deep red color.
100 g of glycol and 40 g of the sodium salt der.- 1-amino-4-methoxybenzene-3-sulfonic acid are added to the melt obtained in this way and the mixture is stirred at 110 to 130 ° C. for 4 to 6 hours. The blue dye which separates out when pouring into water is sucked off and cleaned by washing out with a little cold water. It is dissolved in warm water with the addition of a sufficient amount of sodium carbonate, the solution is filtered, about 10 g of a dispersing agent are added, and the dye is then deposited from the solution by salting out with sodium chloride.
It is obtained in the form of its sodium salt and is a uniform disulfonic acid with the following composition:
