Indicator of the development of the mainspring of watches and other apparatus with clockwork movement. (> n calls the spring development indicator. motor a front device intended to provide information on the state of tension of the mainspring, that is to say on the power reserve of a device with movement. gerie.
In watches with a toothed barrel, this is stationary during winding; it is. the rotating shaft. When the watch is running, the barrel turns and the shaft is. immobilized by snap-fastening. It's about. therefore to report two different movements independent of each other on the same hand. The solutions proposed so far employ complicated differential gears.
The object of the present invention is to provide a much simpler indicator, comprising a shaft on which is fixed a mobile showing. openings in which the rolling elements protruding from both sides of said mobile unit can freely rotate, and two toothed wheels mounted idle on said shaft on either side of said mobile unit, the first of these wheels being driven in one direction by a toothed member fixed on the barrel shaft and the second in the opposite direction by the barrel drum, a spring keeping the aforementioned two wheels pressed against the rolling elements of said mobile, the whole (the way that, depending on whether one goes back the appliance or that it is switched on,
one of said wheels is immobilized and the other causes said rolling elements to roll which cause said mobile to rotate by friction, of which. The shaft operates an indicator needle.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the indicator according to the invention.
Fig. 7. is a plan view from the bridges side.
Fig. 2 is a section along the. line II-II of fig. 1.
The mainspring development indicator shown in the drawing comprises a shaft 1. pivoted, on the one hand, in a bridge 2 located under the dial 3 and, on the other hand, in a bridge 4. On the shaft 1. is wedged a mobile: 5 having three openings 6 offset by 120 with respect to each other and. equidistant from the center of mobile 5; balls 7 are freely engaged in these openings 6, the diameter of which slightly exceeds the thickness of the mobile 5.
Two cogwheels are. idle mounted on the shaft 1 on either side of the mobile 5. The first, designated by 8, meshes with a rotating reference 9. freely on a tenon 10 stuck in the barrel bridge 1.1. The return q in (Yr @ ene in turn with the barrel ratchet 12 wedged on the barrel shaft (not shown). The second toothed wheel, designated by 13, meshes directly with the barrel drum 1s. A spring -blade 15, fixed to. plate 16 by means of a screw 17, bears axially against wheel 13, so that the balls of mobile 5 undergo a certain pressure from the two wheels 8 and 1.3.
The shaft 1 carries a pinion 1.8 meshing with a toothed sector 19. The axis 20 of the latter pivots, on the one hand, in the plate 16 and, on the other hand, in a brake 21 formed by a blade making a spring. , held in the plate 16 by means of a screw 22. The axis 20 passes through an opening 23 of the dial 3 and carries at its end an indicating hand 24.
When winding the watch equipped with the development indicator described, the drum 14 remains stationary and blocks the wheel 1.3. The ratchet 12 drives the return 9 which rotates the. wheel 8; the latter, as a result of the friction exerted on the balls 7, does. rolling the latter which drive the mobile 5 and, consequently, the shaft 1, which actuates the indicator needle 24 via the pinion 18 and the toothed sector 19.
When the watch is running, the winding ratchet 12 is immobilized by the snap ring, so that the. wheel 8 is blocked. The barrel drum 14 rotates slowly and drives the wheel 13. As a result of the pressure exerted by the spring 15, the wheel 13 presses against the balls 7 and causes the latter to roll which drive the mobile 5 and its shaft 1. This movement is. Transmitted to. the indicator needle 24 by the pinion 1 8 and the toothed sector 19.
The ratchet. 12 rotates in the same direction during winding as the drum 1.4 while the watch is running. It is. why it is necessary to provide a reversal of the rotation for one of the wheels 8, 13, which is for example achieved at. using the reference 9. In this way, when winding the watch, the indicator hand travels. at a certain angle in one direction, and when the watch is running, said hand performs a motivation. retrograde. Preferably, the indicator hand does not perform a complete revolution: on the dial, but only an angle of the order of 170 for example.
However, if it is desired for said needle to make a complete revolution, it is easy to replace the toothed sector 19 by a toothed wheel. Instead chi pinion 18, one can also provide a finger carried by the shaft 1. and. activating a tooth at each turn. of sector 19.
According to a variant, the return 9, instead of being engaged with the ratchet 12, can be generated with a pinion, separate from the ratchet 12, fixed on the barrel shaft.
It can be seen that the indicator described enables reliable indications to be obtained about the state of tension of the mainspring, and that. without increasing the height of the movement and with an extremely small number of additional parts.
