Self-winding watch. Mechanisms are already known which indicate the development of the mainspring of timepieces, comprising a nut participating in the rotational movement of the barrel and being screwed or unscrewed on a threaded part of the barrel shaft depending on whether it s 'is the winding or development of the mainspring, the movements of said nut along (the barrel shaft being transformed into circular movement by means of a device actuating an indicator member of the development of the mainspring.
Other known devices, comprising a nut of the aforementioned type, are used. Temporarily immobilize the winding mass in self-winding watches, in order to prevent any overvoltage of the mainspring.
These constructions have the drawback of excessively increasing the height of the movement. The present invention aims to remedy this defect. Its object is a self-winding watch, having a nut that can be screwed or unscrewed on a threaded part of a shaft, the position of said nut on its shaft depending on the degree of tension of the mainspring, and a lever connected desmodromically to said nut. ; this watch is characterized in that said shaft is arranged parallel to the geometric axis of the barrel, a toothed wheel being wedged on said shaft, and in that one of the parts, toothed wheel and nut, meshes with the teeth of the barrel, while the other of these parts is driven in rotation by the barrel ratchet.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the watch according to the invention. Only what is necessary for understanding the invention has been shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view, partially in section, of this embodiment. Fig. 2 is a view from below, the dial being partially broken away.
Fig. 3 is an elevational view of a detail.
In the watch shown in the drawing, the barrel is designated by 1 and its winding ratchet by 2. Parallel to the geometrical axis of the barrel 1 is arranged a pivoting shaft 3 in the bridges 4 and 5. On the part of the shaft 3, between the bridges 4 and 5, is wedged a toothed wheel 6 which meshes with the ratchet 2.
The part of the shaft 3, between the bridge 5 and its end adjacent to the dial 7, is threaded and carries a nut 8 meshing with the teeth of the barrel 1.
A rocker 9, freely pivoting around a screw with bearing 10, has two arms 11, 12 folded at right angles to the central part of the rocker 9. The arms 11, 12 end in eyelets 13, 14 surrounding shaft 3 with play and elastically clamping the two bases of nut 8.
The central part of the rocker 9 has a toothed sector 15 which meshes with a wheel 16 pivoting around a screw at bearing 30; the wheel 16 is in turn engaged with a wheel 17 of which. the axis is perpendicular to that of the wheel 16. The wheel 17 is wedged on a pivoting shaft 18. in the plate 19 and in the plate 20. The shaft 18 passes through an opening 21 of the dial 7 and carries at its end a needle 22 moving in front of a graduation 23 of the dial 7.
The arm 11 of the lever 9 extends to the left at 24 and carries at its end a screw 25 intended to immobilize the winding mass 26 when the mainspring has reached a predetermined degree of winding. In the crown of the mass 26 is driven a part 27 having a slight projection 28 on its. lower face (fig. 3), as well as a notch 29 in the middle of this projection 28. In this way the end of the screw 25 can fall into the notch 29 to block the rotating mass 26, when the rocker 9 turns sufficiently clockwise. The arm 24 does, slightly comes out.
The device described operates as follows: When the watch is wound (manually or by the mass 26), the barrel ratchet 2 drives the wheel 6 as well as the shaft 3. Because the nut 8 is prevented from turning as a result of its engagement with the teeth of the barrel '1, it is forced to move along the shaft 3; in the case of the construction shown, the nut 8 moves downwards (fig. 1) when the mainspring is winding. The fork formed by the arms 11, 12 of the rocker 9 follows this movement of the nut 8 and turns the rocker 9 in the direction of clockwise. As a result, the gear 15, 16, 17 turns the indicator needle 22 clockwise (Fig. 2).
When the mainspring reaches a predetermined degree of winding, the nut 8 arrives in its lowest position, as shown in. fig. 1. The arm 24 and the screw 25 have moved upwards during the winding of the spring, until the moment when the screw 25 has come in the path of the projection 28 of the mass 26. At this time, the 'end of the screw 25 falls into the notch 29 and blocks the mass 26. We can also provide several sail lies and notches on the. rotating mass 26.
When the watch is running, barrel 1 turns, while ratchet 2 remains stationary. Consequently, the shaft 3) does not rotate, and the nut 8, driven in rotation by the barrel 1, moves axially from bottom to top (FIG. 1 '). The rocker 9 rotates counterclockwise, so that the needle 22 of the indicator also rotates counterclockwise (fig.
If the lever 9 turns by a sufficient angle to release the screw 25 from the notch 29, the mass 26 is again free to move and to wind the watch.
In practice, since it is an automatic winding watch, the winding takes place at the same time as the running of the watch. In the theoretical case where the wheel 6 turns at the. same speed as nut 8, the axial position of the nut would remain fixed. If the wheel 6 turns faster or slower than the nut 8, the latter goes down or up depending on the relative movement of the moving parts 6, 8.
So that the angle at which the indicator needle 22 moves is the same during reassembly and during unwinding of the spring, it is. only need the report. gear of the mobiles 2, 6 or. the. same as that of mobiles 1, 8. In the. A particular embodiment which has been described so far, the ratchet 2 and the barrel 1 have the same diameter and the same number of teeth, and the same applies to the wheel 6 and the nut 8.
According to a variant (not shown), the ratchet 2 could drive the wheel 6 by means of references (in an even number to ensure the correct direction of rotation (the shaft 3).
In another embodiment (also not shown) the nut 8 could mesh with the ratchet. 2, while cogwheel 6 would be. meshed with the teeth of barrel 1.
In the same watch, one could have only. the development indicator device, or only the device immobilizing the winding mass when the spring has reached a predetermined degree of winding.
