Drive device on a motorcycle. Drive devices for motorcycles are known in which at least one wheel is driven from the motor or motor transmission block via a cardan shaft. Most of the time, this drive goes from the engine or engine transmission block located centrally in the motorcycle to the rear wheel, on which the frame of the motorcycle has recently been resiliently supported. The rear wheel is driven by the cardan shaft via a rear gear, which is surrounded by a housing.
The rear axle drive can be a bevel gear or z. B. also be a worm gear.
The invention relates to. now a drive device on a motorcycle with a cardan shaft that drives the rear wheel, on which the frame of the motorcycle is resiliently supported, via a rear axle drive. The invention is characterized in that the housing of the rear axle drive is arranged so as to be rotatable relative to the rear wheel axle and is supported to swing on a part connected to the frame.
In a preferred Ausführungsbei game comes. one with just one joint, and the cardan shaft is wrapped around by a tube and turned on. A lever can be arranged to support the housing of the rear axle transmission, but the tube surrounding the Cardan shaft can also be used for support. Finally, the cardan shaft can also be mounted in the tube surrounding it and used for support itself.
The part of the motorcycle connected to the frame can be the engine or engine gearbox housing, but it can also be part of the motorcycle frame itself.
The drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 and 2 show a longitudinal section and a longitudinal view of such a drive device.
In the figures, 1 is the housing of the rear axle transmission of the motorcycle, 2 is the rear wheel axle of the driven rear wheel and 3 is the cardan shaft. The housing 1 of the rear axle with part 5, the rear wheel axle 2 and the rear wheel are resiliently arranged with respect to the frame 4 of the motorcycle. The wheel support part 5, which holds the rear wheel of the motorcycle, not shown, slides on the fixed. in the frame 4 is clamped bolt 6 up and down, which movement by the lifting spring 7 and return spring 8 is limited.
The coil springs 7 and 8 are usually surrounded by telescopically interlocking sleeves (not shown). A part of the motorcycle connected to the frame is the Hotorgetriebeblock 9, of which the part lying against the Cardan shaft 3 is shown. is. The cardan shaft 3 drives the rear axle gear consisting of two bevel gears 10 and 11, the resiliently arranged rear wheel.
The entire rear axle drive 1, 10, 11 swings around a displaceable point 14. The housing of the rear axle operation must therefore be arranged to be rotatable with respect to the usually fixed rear wheel axle. For this purpose, a bearing can be provided which is arranged in the housing of the rear axle drive; But the camp is here in the wheel mounting part 5 of the rear wheel is introduced.
The housing 1 is rotatable relative to the wheel support part 5 about the axis passing through the two parts 1 and 5. In the present embodiment, the wheel support part 5 is rotatably arranged relative to the rear axle 2 and thus the housing 1 as well, which is supported swingably on a part of the motorcycle attached to the frame 4, here on the engine gearbox block 9. As a result, only one joint 12 is necessary, which is a disc joint with flexible organs.
According to the figures, the disk joint has the two disks 12 'and 12 "and the rubber intermediate layers 13. The support of the housing 1 of the rear axle gear on the motor transmission block 9 takes over the cardan shaft 3, which see with its end contact surface 14 on the motor transmission block 9 supports.
The end support surface 14 is convex for this purpose and is supported on a bush 15 which is seated on the transmission end shaft 16 of the motor transmission block 9. The sleeve 15 is surrounded by parts of the single joint 12 of the drive device.
The drive is carried out by the gear end shaft 16 via a disc 12 'of the disc joint 12 drawn onto it, and through the rubber intermediate layers 13 of the bolts of the disc 12' to the disc 12 ″, which sits on the cardan shaft 3 with a corrugated connection 17 The Cardan shaft 3 is mounted in a tube 18 surrounding it by the bearing 19, while the bevel gear stub shaft 20 is mounted in bearings 21 in the housing 1 of the rear axle gear 10, 11.
A sleeve 22 connects the shafts 3 and 20 to form a whole via corrugated connections. The tube 18 surrounding the cardan shaft 3 is attached to the housing 1 of the rear axle transmission.
The graftfhiss of the support of the housing 1 of the rear axle drive 10, 11 goes via the tube 18 and the bearing 19 as well as the bearing 21 and shaft 20 to the cardan shaft 3, which via its convex end support surface 14 supports the gear. drive end shaft 16 transferred. Supported. who the braking and acceleration forces emanating from the rear wheel on which the frame 4 is resiliently supported.
It could be arranged to support the housing 1 auelr be a special lever that acts on the Ge housing 1 of the rear gear and relieves the cardan shaft 3.
The advantage of this arrangement is. in the use of only a single joint 12 despite the resilient suspension of the rear wheel and with it. of the housing @ 1 of the rear axle transmission, this one joint 12 being only moderately stressed by the swinging rear wheel because the lever arm from the rear wheel axle 2 to the crowned end support surface 14 of the cardan shaft 3 is kept large.
If the rear wheel now springs up and down via the wheel holder piece 5 in the sleeve suspension 6, 7 and 8, the housing 1 of the rear gear will turn, as it will move over the tube 18 and the cardan shaft 3 on its spherical end support surface 14 see supported, therefore -Lind swings around point 1.1.
The point 14 does not remain stationary during the oscillating movement, because the sleeve suspension does not allow the rear wheel to move in a circular arc, but instead forces a vertical movement. The point 14 will therefore move somewhat when the housing 1 is pivoted, which is also the case in the bushing 15 is possible. In order to allow the housing 1 to be swiveled, however, the housing 1 must be arranged so that it can rotate relative to the rear wheel axle 2, so that the housing 1 is given a slight twist around point 1.1.
A bearing 23 is used for this, which can be angeord net in the housing 1 of the rear gear, but it can also, as in Fig. 2, be arranged in the wheel retaining ring part 5 of the rear wheel suspension. The bearing 23 can be designed as a needle bearing. The rear wheel axle 2 can, as usual, be designed as a plug-in axle. The movement of the bearing 23 will only be very slight, in the order of magnitude of the pivoting movement of the housing 1; but this camp is necessary for the function of the arrangement.
An oscillating frame can also be provided which carries the rear wheel, its axle and the housing, and on which the frame of the motorcycle is resiliently supported, with a bearing 23 also being provided.
Since the housing of the rear axle drive has to vibrate with the rear wheel, the cardan shaft has two joints in known devices when the engine block or engine gearbox block is located centrally in the motorcycle ge compared to the rear wheel and does not resonate with it .. These two joints are on the relatively short cardan waves are often found annoying, especially when they are exposed and exposed to dirt.
They also make it difficult to cover the cardan shaft by protecting the tube or a sleeve and are exposed to the shortness of the cardan shaft because of high stress. In the device shown, these disadvantages are avoided.
