Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Esters. Gegenstand vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Esters. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man eine Verbindung der Formel

worin X und Y reaktionsfähige, mit Aus nahme eines in einem von ihnen enthaltenen Sauerstoffatoms sich bei der Reaktion ab spaltende Reste bedeuten, einwirken lässt. Die entstandene neue Verbindung, der o-Meth- oxy-benzoesäure-a-äthyl-benzylester, siedet.
Unter 0,5 mm Druck bei 155-158R. Sie soll als Arzneimittel Verwendung finden.

Statt von o-14fethoxy-benzoylehlorid kann man auch vom Anhydrid oder von einem Ester der o-Methoxy-benzoesäure mit einem niederen Alkohol ausgehen und diese mit a-Äthyl-benzylalkohol umsetzen; oder man verestert die o - Methoxy - benzoesäure mit a-Äthyl-benzylalkohol in Gegenwart eines Kondensationsmittels, wie Halogenwasser stoffsäure oder Schwefelsäure.
Zum gleichen Endprodukt gelangt man ferner durch Einwirkenlassen von einem o-methoxy-benzoesauren Salz auf einen reaktionsfähigen Ester des a,-Äthyl-benzyl- alkohols, wie z. B. einen Halogenwasserstoff- säureester oder einen aromatischen Sulfon- säureester.
