Process for the preparation of a basic ester. The present patent is a process for the preparation of a basic ester. The process is characterized in that a compound of the formula
EMI0001.0004
where X and Y two, with the exception of an oxygen atom contained in one of them, are radicals which are split off during the reaction, can act.
The new compound of the piperidinoethyl ester of methyl-di-n-propyl-acetic acid is. a base with a boiling point of 154-156 under 11 mm pressure. It can be converted into salts with inorganic or organic acids. It should find therapeutic use.
Example: 17.7 parts of methyl-cli-n-propyl-acetic acid chloride are added with stirring to 12.9 parts of piperidinoethanol, whereupon heating occurs and the mixture is then heated to 18011 with stirring until a homogeneous melt has formed.
This is advantageously dissolved in water while still warm with the addition of a little dilute hydrochloric acid and the aqueous solution is extracted with ether a few times. The base is then freed with concentrated ammonia and taken up in ether. After washing the ethereal solution once with water and drying, the solvent is distilled off and the base ester obtained as a residue is purified by distillation in vacuo.
This seals at 154-156 under 11 mm pressure.
The reaction can also be carried out in a solvent such as benzene, toluene, yylene, chlorobenzene, etc., can be carried out. One often gets in this case. better yields when using an excess of amino alcohol.
Instead of the acid chloride, another acid halide or the anhydride can be used, or an ester of carboxylic acid, e.g. B. implement the methyl-di-n-propyl-acetic acid inethyAester with piperidinoethanol in the presence of sodium alcoholate, the resulting methyl alcohol being advantageously removed from the reaction mixture by distillation.
The same end product is also obtained if the methyl-di-n-propyl-acetic acid is heated with a piperidinoethyl halide or a salt of the methyl-di-n-propyl acetic acid with a reactive ester of piperidinoethanol or a The salt of the same.
