worin X und Y zwei, mit Ausnahme eines in einem von ihnen enthaltenen Sauerstoff atoms, sich bei der Reaktion abspaltende Reste bedeuten, einwirken lässt.
Die neue Verbindung, der Diäthyl-amino- äthylester der Methyl-di-isobutyl-essigsäure, ist eine Base vom Siedepunkt 150-151 unter 11 mm Druck. Sie lässt sich mit anorgani schen oder organischen Säuren in Salze über führen. Sie soll therapeutische Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 20,5 Teile Methyl-di-isobutyl-essigsäure- chlorid werden unter Rühren zu 11,7 Teilen Diäthyl-aminoäthanol gegeben, wobei Erwär mung eintritt, und das Gemisch hierauf unter Rühren auf 180 erhitzt, bis eine homogene Schmelze entstanden ist. Diese wird vorteil haft noch warm unter Zusatz von wenig ver dünnter Salzsäure in Wasser gelöst und die wässrige Lösung einige Male ausgeäthert. Hierauf wird mit konzentriertem Ammoniak die Base freigemacht und in Äther auf genommen.
Nach einmaligem Waschen der ätherischen Lösung mit Wasser und Trocknen wird das Lösungsmittel abdestilliert und der als Rückstand erhaltene basische Ester durch Destillation im Vakuum gereinigt. Dieser sie det bei 150-151 unter 11 mm Druck. Die Reaktion kann auch in einem Lö sungsmittel wie Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Chlor benzol usw. ausgeführt werden. Man erhält in diesem Fall oft bessere Ausbeuten bei Ver wendung eines Überschusses an Aminoalkohol.
Statt des Säurechlorids kann man ein anderes Säurehalogenid oder das Anhydrid anwenden oder auch einen Ester der Carbon- säure, z. B. den Methyl-di-isobutyl-essigsäure- methylester, mit Diäthy 1-aminoäthanol in Ge genwart von Natriumalkoholat umsetzen, wo bei vorteilhaft der entstehende Methylalkohol durch Destillation aus dem Reaktionsgemisch entfernt wird.
Zum gleichen Endprodukt gelangt man auch, wenn man die Methyl-di-isobiityl-essig- säure mit einem Diäthyl-aminoäthylhalogenid erhitzt oder ein Salz der Methyl-di-isobutyl- essigsäure mit einem reaktionsfähigen Ester des Diäthyl-aminoäthanols oder einem Salz desselben umsetzt.

The new compound, the diethyl-amino-ethyl ester of methyl-di-isobutyl-acetic acid, is a base with a boiling point of 150-151 under 11 mm pressure. It can be converted into salts with inorganic or organic acids. It should find therapeutic use.
<I> Example: </I> 20.5 parts of methyl-di-isobutyl-acetic acid chloride are added to 11.7 parts of diethyl-aminoethanol with stirring, during which heating occurs, and the mixture is then heated to 180 with stirring, until a homogeneous melt has formed. This is advantageously dissolved in water while still warm with the addition of a little dilute hydrochloric acid and the aqueous solution is extracted with ether a few times. The base is then freed with concentrated ammonia and taken up in ether.
After the ethereal solution has been washed once with water and dried, the solvent is distilled off and the basic ester obtained as residue is purified by distillation in vacuo. This is at 150-151 under 11 mm pressure. The reaction can also be carried out in a solvent such as benzene, toluene, xylene, chlorobenzene, etc. In this case, better yields are often obtained when using an excess of amino alcohol.
Instead of the acid chloride, another acid halide or the anhydride can be used, or an ester of carboxylic acid, e.g. B. the methyl di-isobutyl-acetic acid methyl ester, with diethy 1-aminoethanol in the presence of sodium alcoholate, where advantageously the resulting methyl alcohol is removed from the reaction mixture by distillation.
The same end product is also obtained when the methyl-di-isobiityl-acetic acid is heated with a diethyl-aminoethyl halide or a salt of methyl-di-isobutyl-acetic acid is reacted with a reactive ester of diethyl-aminoethanol or a salt thereof.
