Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Amidderivates. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Amidderivat gelangt, wenn man etwa 1 Mol technisches Stearinsäureamid, etwa 1 Mal Formaldehyd und etwa '/3 Mol Tri- äthanolamin aufeinander einwirken lässt. .
Die Umsetzung wird vorteilhaft in der Wärme, z. B. bei 100-140 , vorgenommen, zweckmässig unter Zusatz von die Reaktion beschleunigenden Stoffen, beispielsweise in Gegenwart von Alkalicarbonaten, wie Na- triumcarbonat.
Als Stoffe, die die Reaktion befördern, können auch konzentrierte wasserlösliche organische Säuren, wie Eisessig oder Amei sensäure, dienen. Es ist zweckmässig, das Amid erst mit Formaldehyd in bekannter Weise zum N-Methylolamid umzusetzen und anschliessend Triäthanolamin auf das N-Me- thylolamid einwirken zu lassen.
Das Acetat des neuen Amidderivates, eine annähernd feste Masse, wird von, heissem Wasser zu einer .opaleszierenden Lösung aufgenommen. Es kann, als Textilhilfsstoff, z. B. als Weichmachungsmittel für Viskose- kuns@tsei:de, verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Technisches Stearinsäureamid wird in be kannter Weise mit Paraförmaldehyd ins Stearinsäure - N - methylolamid übergeführt. Man erhitzt 30 Teile Stearinsäure-N-methylol- amid aus technischer Stearinsäure, 5,5 Teile Triäthanolamin und 15 Teile wasserfreies Natriumcarbonat unter Rühren während 3 Stunden auf 108-112 .
Der flüssige An teil des Umsetzungsgutes wird darauf heiss vom festen Natriumcarbonat abgetrennt. Man vermischt 5 Teile des so erhaltenen Konden sationsproduktes mit 0,8 Teilen Eisessig und verdünnt mit kaltem Wasser auf 10 Teile. Die so erhaltene Paste ist sehr wirksam als Weichmaohungsmittel.

Concentrated water-soluble organic acids, such as glacial acetic acid or formic acid, can also serve as substances that promote the reaction. The acetate of the new amide derivative, an almost solid mass, is absorbed by hot water to form an opalescent solution. It can, as a textile auxiliary, e.g. B. can be used as a plasticizer for viscose kuns @ tsei: de.
<I> Example: </I> Technical stearic acid amide is converted into stearic acid - N - methylolamide in a known manner with paraformaldehyde. 30 parts of stearic acid N-methylolamide from technical grade stearic acid, 5.5 parts of triethanolamine and 15 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate are heated to 108-112 for 3 hours with stirring.
The liquid part of the reaction material is then separated from the solid sodium carbonate while hot. 5 parts of the condensation product thus obtained are mixed with 0.8 parts of glacial acetic acid and diluted to 10 parts with cold water. The paste thus obtained is very effective as a softener.
