Fig. 1 est une vue en bout, avec coupe verticale partielle, d'une partie de ladite forme d'exécution suffisante pour faire com prendre l'invention; Fig. 2 est une vue en élévation avec coupe verticale partielle de la partie inférieure de l'appareil, en regardant de la droite de la fig. 1; Fig. 3 est une vue de face d'une partie du mécanisme de la fig. 1, représentée à une échelle plus grande et en regardant par la ligne 3-3 de la fig. 5;
Apparatus for winding bobbins. This invention relates to an apparatus for winding bobbins, of the type serving to automatically replace a finished net, spool or similar wound mass (which will all be understood hereinafter under the name of "cans" for a purpose. short) by an empty bobbin holder tube on which the winding of a new bobbin continues,
automatic bobbin replacement allowing such devices to run for long periods of time unattended.
The object of the invention is to improve devices of this type so as to further reduce the monitoring they require.
To this end, the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a counter device intended to be actuated on each winding operation of a bobbin, and means, controlled by this device, for setting the mechanism. bobbin replacement automatically disabled after winding a predetermined number of bobbins. In this way,
the bobbin replacement operation can be made to stop before the amount of thread wound on a supply spool or the like has been exhausted to the point that it would be insufficient to constitute a new full bobbin, so that careful checking of the finished bobbins and / or the thread feed spool is no longer necessary. In addition,
the worker before the appliance is thus able to take care of a greater number of pins. The counter device may be provided with a hand control allowing the mechanism to be initially set for any predefined number of bobbins that can be wound up before the bobbin replacement mechanism is taken out of operation. action.
Means can be provided to visually indicate the number of cans for which the counter has been set, these means being able also to be used to indicate at any time the number of cans which must be wound before having to change the spool of. food. The counter device can advantageously be actuated by the bobbin replacement mechanism, a predetermined number of bobbin replacements by this mechanism causing the device to operate so as to put the mechanism out of action.
The counter device may include a rotary orgy and a drive device serving to rotate this member. the bobbin replacement mechanism obliges the driver to rotate the rotary member one part of a revolution for each complete movement.
of the bobbin replacement mechanism. After having turned by a predetermined angle in this manner (i.e. after there has been a predetermined number of replacements of net ca), the rotary member can cause the operation of the device for shutting down. 'action the bobbin replacement mechanism.
The rotary member may be a rocker wheel intended to be driven part of a revolution by a pawl which is only controlled once for each complete movement of the bobbin replacement mechanism. When the latter comprises a "filling" member intended to move at intervals to place an empty bobbin holder in the winding position. the pawl or other drive member can advantageously be actuated by this trim member.
In some embodiments of the apparatus according to the invention, the counting device can be used for. stopping the drive of the bobbin replacement mechanism so as to put it inoperative after the predetermined number of bobbins have been wound up. Thus, the counter device can operate a stop mechanism or cause a belt to move from a pulley fixed to an idler pulley to stop the drive, or even disengage the drag mechanism, for example by disengaging a gearbox. clutch.
When the bobbin replacement mechanism is coupled with a power source between each bobbin winding operation and the next and is thus set in motion to cause bobbin replacement, the counter device can operate to prevent such bobbin winding operation. coupling after the machine has wound the predetermined number of bobbins.
In a preferred embodiment of the apparatus, stopping the drive of the bobbin replacement mechanism is obtained by means of a latch controlled by the counter device and intended to be moved by the latter. from an inactivity position to a working position to stop the drive after winding a predetermined number of bobbins. The.
rotation of the rotary member by a predetermined angle can cause the latch to move from an inactive position to the working position and, when the latch is moved away from the rotary member, a lever mechanism or the like can connect this latch to said organ.
The counter device that comprises the apparatus which is the subject of the invention can be established in the form of a complete mechanism in itself comprising a rotary member, means serving to constitute a driving link between the bobbin replacement mechanism and the rotary member to rotate this member by part of a turn. with each complete movement of the bobbin replacement mechanism,
a stopper for disabling the bobbin replacement mechanism and means constituting a link between the rotary member and the stopper and for actuating the latter after the rotary member has rotated at an angle corresponding to a predetermined number of bobbin replacement movements.
The counter device may further include means for allowing manual adjustment of the position of the rotary member so as to allow the winding of the predetermined number of cans before the stop device operates, and means - cooperating with manual control means for visually indicating the number of net cans remaining to be wound. Thus, a device, such as a disk or the like, provided with numbers, can be arranged so as to cooperate with the manually controlled means to give a visual indication of the number of cans to be wound.
The apparatus according to the invention may be of the type in which the bobbins being wound are supported by pins which pass through the bobbin holder tubes or of the type in which the bobbins are supported by members which engage the ends. bobbin holder tubes.
Will now be described, by way of example, in more detail, with reference to the appended schematic drawing, an embodiment of the apparatus forming the subject of the invention, of the automatic type and with two spindles, a Apparatus of this type being described in British Patent No. 475157, of May 11, 1936.
Fig. 1 is an end view, with partial vertical section, of a part of said embodiment sufficient to understand the invention; Fig. 2 is an elevational view in partial vertical section of the lower part of the apparatus, looking from the right of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 is a front view of part of the mechanism of FIG. 1, shown on a larger scale and looking through line 3-3 of FIG. 5;
Fig. 4 is a front view of another part of the mechanism of FIG. 1, shown on a larger scale and looking through line 4--4 in fig. 5; Fig. 5 is a plan view of the details of the. fig. 1 shown in fig. 3 and 4.
The embodiment shown of the apparatus according to the invention is a cannula of well-known type comprising a grained casing 6, winding pins 7 controlled by a clutch and a starting bar 8 associated with each pin. For clarity of the drawing, only a pin 7 has been shown and the associated mechanism for giving the wire its reciprocating motion has not been shown.
During bobbin swimming, the thread is moved back and forth along part of the length of the bobbin holder tube 9, the region of this movement being gradually moved from the big end to the bottom. tip of the tube. On completion of the bobbin, the stop mechanism operates to return the start bar 8 by rotation to the inactive position so as to stop the spindles, all in the well known manner of the invention. skilled in the art.
When the winding spindles 7 stop, the finished spools are automatically ejected away from the spindles and replaced by new bobbin holder tubes on which the winding of new bobbins continues, as described in detail in the aforementioned patent and as described hereinafter briefly.
A bush 11 surrounding the spindle 7 at a point between the base of the tube 9 and the gear housing 6 is driven along said spindle towards its point to eject the finished bobbin away from this spindle, under the action a rack 12 sliding in a socket 13 extending from one to the other of two walls 14, 15 of the frame of the apparatus, said rack being actuated by a pin 16 meshing with its teeth. The net ejected falls into a chute 10 leading to a collecting receptacle or other receptacle.
The entry of the rack 12 into the socket 13 has the effect that a carriage 17 moves from a magazine (not shown) to a point located opposite the end of the now bare spindle 7, where a new bobbin holder tube 9 carried by the cha riot is fitted onto the spindle up to the winding position by a part 18, the sleeve 11 having meanwhile been returned to the position shown in the drawing by a reversal of the direction of pinion rotation 16.
The part 18 is connected by an arm (not shown) to a garnisse-used rack 19 sliding in a socket 20 and meshing with a control pinion 21. By turning in the opposite direction after the pin 7 has been secured. of a new bobbin-carrying tube 9, the pinion 21 causes the return of the member 18 by the packing rack 19 to the position shown in the drawing, where it is ready to operate again when necessary .
The pinions 16, 21 controlling the ejection cranks for cans and the pin linings 12, 19 are mounted on shafts 23, 24 which are actuated by chains 25, 26 passing on chain wheels (not re - shown) mounted on the shafts. The chains 25, 26 are actuated respectively by chain wheels 27, 28 mounted on shafts 29, 30. Below chain wheels 27, 8 is a drum-shaped cam 32 mounted loose on a shaft 33 and whose surface has two grooves 34, 35 in which are engaged pins 36 carried by two levers 37, 38.
The levers 37, 38 are connected by pin and slot assemblies to arms 39, 40 respectively attached to the shafts 29, 30. In this way, the rotation of the , cam 32 has the effect to pivot the levers 37, 38 first in one direction, then in the other, and, consequently, to operate the racks 12 and 19 for the purposes described above.
The rotation of cam 3? at the desired intervals is carried out as follows: To the shaft 33 is fixed, near the right end of the cam 32, a disc 42 (fig. 1 and 2) having a series of semi-circular notches 43 at its periphery . The shaft 33 is actuated by a worm gear 44 and the disk 42 therefore rotates continuously.
A pawl 45 pivoting freely on the end of the cam 32 normally slides empty around the periphery of the disc 42 and. while this disc rotates, falls into the notches 43 or emerges therefrom. the cam 32 remains fixed. while shaft 33 is rotating.
The pawl 45 is subjected to the action of a lock 46 also pivoting on the end of the cam 32 and biased by a spring 47 so that it has a tendency to rotate in the levorotatory direction (looking at, fig. 2) to engage the pawl 45 and lock it in any one of the notches 43 in order to couple the disc 4. \ .. with the cam 32 and thus begin the operation of ejecting the bobbin and previously described spindle packing.
During winding, however, the movement of the latch 46 to the lock position of the pawl is prevented by a latch 48 pivoting about an axis 49. This latch is connected by a chain 50 to one end of the latch. a rod 52 mounted for grouting ser in guides 53 formed on the head of a lever 54 which pivots around a shaft 55 projecting from the wall 15 of the frame of the apparatus (fig. 1, 4 and 5) . The chain 50 passes through a rigid guide tube 56 which is fixed to the frame of the apparatus, at its ends, by brackets 57.
The end of the rod 52 is flattened so as to constitute a head 58, and a compression spring 59 surrounds the rod between the. head 58 and guide 53. It is thus evident that when the lever 54 is held with its head 53 near the head 58 of the rod 52, the spring 59 is compressed and subjects the chain 50 to a traction, so that this chain forms a flexible connection between the latch 48 and the lever 54 and tends to rotate the latch in the dextrorotatory direction around its pivot 49 and to release it from the latch 46.
Conversely, when the lever 54 is free to come and occupy the position shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the spring 59 and the. chain 50 cease to be subject to. pull and the latch 48 remains in the position shown on the fi-. 1, \? and 4. On the other hand, during the normal winding operation of the machine, the spring 59 and the chain 50 are kept under tension in a manner which will be described. further.
The tendency of the latch 48 to rotate under the influence of the pull of the chain 50 and thereby release the latch 46 is countered by the heads 60 of two pivoting fingers 62.63 (fi.?) Each of which is connected, in 64. to a vertical rod 65 pivoting at its upper end on an arm 66 fixed to one of the bars 8 for starting the spindles. As the start bars 8 rotate (in the dextrorotatory direction looking at fig. 2) to stop their respective pins 7 on completion of the bobbins, the fingers 62.
63 revolve around their pivots and release the latch 48 allowing it to be rotated by the traction of the chain 50 and thus to separate from the latch 46 to begin the operation of replacing the net previously described.
If both bobbins are finished at the same time, the two starter bars 8 rotate at the same time to stop the pins 7 and to move the corresponding fingers 62, 63 away from the latch 48, which is then made free to rotate. latch gap 46.
On the other hand, if one of the bobbins is finished before the other, only the finger 62 or 63 which is associated with the finished bobbin separates from the lo quet 48, the finger associated with the other bobbin, still being wound up, remaining in the latch pressed position until this second bobbin has been completed, the finger then moving and allowing the latch to rotate away from the position where it engages the latch.
In this way, the risk that the driving of the bobbin replacement mechanism is established before a bobbin has been completed is avoided.
Upon completion of the bobbin replacement operation, the cam-drum 32, continuing to rotate, brings a cam 67, provided at its end, into engagement with a lifting lever 68 which rotates freely, at 69, on the appliance frame. The lever 68 is pushed upwards by the cam 32 and, in this movement, comes into contact with a horizontal bar 70 and pushes this bar so as to bring it into contact with the lower ends of the two vertical rods 65, which are then moved upward to rotate the power pins 8. The bar 70 is supported in a horizontal position by a swivel arm 71.
The movement of the vertical rods 65 upwards has the effect of rotating the fingers 62, 63 around their pivots and bringing them into engagement with the latch 48 which, therefore, is lowered by over raising the traction of the chain. 50 and comes in the path of the latch 46. The latch then disengages from the pawl 45 and the control of the cam-drum 32 is disengaged.
The traction of the spring 59 and of the chain 50 is suppressed by a counter device after a predetermined number of operations of ejection of cans and of filling of spindles, so that the cam-drum 32 is put out of action, as follows:
The head of the lever 54 (fig. 4 and 5) carries a projection 72 which rests on the periphery of a disc 73 fixed to a rotating shaft 74, the disc 73 being partially cut at 75 so that the head of the lever 54 can be maintained by the periphery of the disc either near the head 58 of the rod 52, so as to compress the spring 59, or at a distance from this head, as shown in FIG. 4, so as to remove the spring pressure and, therefore,
the traction of the chain 50, depending on that of the parts of the periphery of the disc which is in contact with the projection 72.
The shaft 74 passes through the wall 15 and carries, on the side of the wall remote from the disc 73, a ratchet 76 (fig. 3 and 5) which receives an intermittent driving movement of a pawl 77 supported at the end of a lever 78 which is disposed between the wall 15 and the ratchet 76 and intended to rotate freely around the shaft 74. An oscillating movement is communicated to the lever 78 to actuate the pawl by a pusher 79 mounted in guides 80 and having a cam portion 82 at its lower end.
The pusher 79 is arranged so that the cam portion 82 protrudes across the end of the socket 20, and a cam 83, formed at the end of the spindle packing insert 19, engages with it. the cam 82 and thus pushes the pusher 79 to actuate the pawl on each return stroke of the rack 19, after the associated spindle 7 has been fitted with a new bobbin tube. In this way, the ratchet 76,
and therefore the disk 73 rotates by a predetermined angle for each complete net AC eject and spindle packing operation.
The shaft 74 is provided with a hand control handle 84 by means of which the disc 73 can be rotated in the dextrogy direction and placed in any desired position relative to the. projection 72 carried by the head of lever 54.
To wind a predetermined number of bobbins, turn the dis that 73 until the. projection 72 carried by the head of the lever 54 comes to rest against the uncut periphery of the disc, at a distance from the cut-out portion 75 which is sufficient to allow the predetermined number of can eject and garbage operations. spindle finishing to be carried out before the. rotation of the disc has the effect of bringing its cut-out portion 75 opposite the projection 72 and thus freeing the lever 54 with a view to dextrorotatory rotation around the shaft 55, to eliminate the . tension of spring 59 and chain 50.
After the initial manual adjustment, the disc 73 is driven by the rock 76, as previously described, until the desired number of bobbin eject and spindle packing operations have been performed, the chain tension 50 then being automatically removed and the latch 48 forced to remain in the position where it is engaged with the lock, to prevent any new operation of the cam 32, whatever the positions of the fingers 62, 63.
The periphery of the disc 73 is provided with measured sizes 85 each of which is intended to receive the projection 72 and whose extent corresponds to the angular movement effected by the ratchet 76 under the influence of a complete operation of bobbin ejection and spindle wise trim. This facilitates the exact positioning of the disc with respect to the sail 72. To make this positioning of the disc more precise, the notches 85 can be numbered in accordance with the number of can ejection operations and of pin packing that each notch represents.
A suitable numbering device is shown in the drawing and comprises a circular plate 86 provided near its edge with numbers corresponding to the notches 85 of the disc, this plate being attached to the shaft 74 immediately behind a face plate 8 7 of the disc. 'apparatus. The face plate 87 is pierced with a small window or opening 88 through which the numbers of the plate 86 can be seen.
So, to settle the. position of the disc 73 so as to allow the desired number of bobbin eject operations and spindle packing to be performed before the latch 48 is disengaged, it suffices to rotate the handle of the spindle. hand control 84 until the desired number appears in window 88.
There is then no need to deal with the counter mechanism as long as the desired number of net ca has not been wound. As the platen 86 rotates with each bobbin change operation, the number appearing in window 88 always indicates the number of bobbins that must be wound before having to change the supply spool. The part of the disc 73 which follows the cut-out part 75 has a shape such that it gradually connects to the cut-out part, in order to facilitate the repositioning of the disc.
The counter device can be put out of action by a hand lever 89 pivoting on the shaft 55 and having a flat projection 90. When the lever 89 is rotated in the dextrorotatory direction around the shaft 55, the part 90 strikes the head 58 of the rod 52 and pushes this rod to the right (looking at FIGS. 4 and 5), which eliminates it. chain tension 50.
The effect of movement of the hand lever 89 is thus the same as if the lever 54 had reached the cutout portion 75 of the disc 73, and the latch 48 remains in the position where it is engaged with the latch after the rotation of the latch. start bars 8 to stop the winding spindles 7. The hand lever 89 can be locked in the position removing the tension of the chain.
