Method for the imprisonment of an organ in a housing, where it can however rotate, and device obtained by this method. The invention comprises, on the one hand, a method for imprisoning an organ in a housing, where it can however turn, on the other hand, a device obtained by this method and comprising a housing as well as a organ trapped in it, but able to rotate there.
The process is characterized by the fact that: we provide the organ with a thread, we also practice a thread in the housing, we spare in the housing, at the end of its thread, a chamber whose transverse dimensions are such that the organ can.
turn there and whose useful axial length is a little less than the length of the screw thread of this member, the member is screwed into the housing by a relative rotation of the two until the latter is in contact with the bottom of the chamber, this screwing is then continued by forcing, so that the parts of the two threads which are still engaged enter into conflict and deteriorate, which prevents them from functioning normally during a subsequent rotation. of the organ in the direction of the wise unscrewing where imprisonment of this organ in the housing where it can however turn.
The device is characterized in that: the member has a screw thread, the housing is also provided with a screw thread and comprises at the end of the latter a chamber whose transverse dimensions are such as to allow a rotation of the member and of which the useful axial length is a little less than that of the thread of the latter, the threads of the member and of the housing are partially damaged, so that they cannot function normally during a rotation of the member in the direction of unscrewing, which produces imprisonment.
-The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section through a room in which the housing is located; Fig. 2 is a view of the organ to be imprisoned; Fig. 3 is a section showing the organ trapped in the housing.
The member a to be imprisoned consists of a cylindrical pin b and a part c having a screw thread d, the minimum diameter of which is at least equal to that of the pin b.
The housing e, receiving the member a is formed by a hole f, in which is formed a thread g and by a cylindrical chamber h located at the inner end of the thread f. The transverse dimensions of the chamber h are such that the threads of the screw thread d of the organ a do not come into contact with its cylindrical wall when they are find there; its axial length is a little less than that of the thread d, by half a pitch, for example d, g.
Under these conditions, the process is carried out as follows: The organ a is screwed into the hole f until its upper end meets the bottom j of the chamber h; at this time, part c is almost entirely in chamber h, except for a U-turn of this part. Screwing is then continued by forcing: the two sections still engaged with the threads of the threads d, g come into conflict and disengage from each other, deteriorating and closing on the previous threads in fa lesson of the needles of a railway switch.
Due to this double deterioration, the thread of the thread d can no longer enter the thread g when the member a is rotated in the unscrewing direction; the organ is thus trapped in the housing where it can however rotate freely.
The screwing of the member a in the housing e can be obtained by a rotation that is communicated to it while the part k having this housing e remains stationary, by a rotation of this part k, while a </ I> remains motionless, by a simultaneous rotation of the two.
The member a can be used, for example, to immobilize a part, flat or other, entering laterally into the chamber h, between the bottom of the latter and itself. In this case, the axial length of the thread d and the axial length of the chamber h must be such that, taking into account the thickness of this part, on the one hand, the thread d can be released. on the other hand, the end i of the component a can then come up against said part, held by the bottom j and thus give rise to the deterioration of the nets.
This case is, for example, that of a tab to be maintained in a screw terminal: The shape and arrangement of the organ to be imprisoned may differ from those which have been indicated.
