Process for the preparation of a fuel mixture for an internal combustion engine, starting from a heavy fuel, and a carburetor for carrying out this process. The present invention comprises a assigned process for the preparation of Linear mixture nozzle for an internal combustion engine, starting from a heavy fuel, as well as a carburetor. for the implementation of this process.
The process which the invention comprises is characterized in that a gaseous product is prepared containing only fuel by sucking the latter to liquid state to using the engine and bringing it to a relatively high temperature to using a heat source, which vaporizes it, and in that the this gaseous product is mixed with fresh air to obtain the combustible mixture at a relatively low temperature.
The attached schematic drawing shows, by by way of example, one embodiment of the carburetor included in the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section in elevation; Fig. 2 is a bottom view of a section through a fuel heating chamber. The carburetor shown has a constant level tank 7 and, at its lower part, a reheating chamber 1. </ B >
In this chamber 1 passes a bypass of the exhaust gases which arrive through a pipe 2 in which there is a butterfly which makes it possible to regulate the passage of the quantity of hot gases and, consequently, the room temperature 1.
The chamber 1 is crossed vertically by a nozzle 4 whose upper end arrives at the height of a Venturi tube 5 and whose lower part carries a calibrated nozzle 6 which is itself in communication with the tank 7 by channels 8 and 9 .
The nozzle 4 is enveloped in a filament 10 which is heated by means of an electric current supplied to the terminals 11-11 of a spark plug 12.
Operation: Before starting , bring the current from the battery to spark plug 12. - - - The high temperature reached by the filament 10 heats the nozzle 4 and the oil y contained is gasified until the moment when it can be started.
As soon as the engine is running, the exhaust gases heat the nozzle 4 and the current can be switched off.
The vacuum produced by the Venturi tube 5 produces the spiration of gases through the orifice 13, and these gases mix with the cold air arriving in 14.
The mixture then arrives in a tube 15 which goes to the engine, at a relatively low temperature and in the form of haze.
This relatively low temperature allows a good filling of the engine cylinder and, consequently, the minimum loss of specific engine power.
To satisfy to proper operation, the state of the fuel must be liquid as it passes through the nozzle 6, that is to say that dimension A must be large enough so that, by conductivity, the nozzle does not take a gasification temperature.
In a word, the adjustment of the fuel flow must be done in the liquid state.
On the route of dimension B, the fuel must gasify and this result will be achieved by a suitable temperature of this part of the nozzle 4. # If the temperature is higher than that of the vaporization, the phenomenon occurs. name of cracking, that is to say that a deposit of tar and carbon forms which clogs the nozzle 4. It is to avoid this that a butterfly has been provided 3 </ B > which can be controlled by a thermostat, so as to have in chamber 1 a constant temperature determined for each fuel quality.
The carburetor could be with several jets; in this case, the latter would also be extended by a nozzle passing into the heating chamber 1. It is of course that one could also build a carburetor in which the heating would be obtained only by electricity. The starting of the engine can also be done by means of a to </ B> gasoline and a two-way intermediate bushel allows both to feed the engine on gasoline for the start and then to switch to heavy fuel operation , when chamber 1 has reached a sufficient temperature.
The port 6 which regulates the passage of the fuel can be placed at any point of channels 8 and 9, so to be at protected from too high a temperature and thus avoid carbonation.
