Un dispositif permettant Cie fournir Lit] second apport de chaleur dans la chambre9 est prévu pour compenser ce refroidissement. Des trous50 -,ont ménagés dans la paroi de la chambre9 et ces trous sont entourés par titre couronne mobile 5L cri communication avectitre arrivée d'ait- 52, dans laquelle est prévu titi brâleui, 53;

The present invention relates to a process for the spraying and gasification of heavy oils in rapid slow use in explosion engines and to an apparatus for the realization of this process. .
We know that heavy oils, such as fuel oil, tar oil and certain vegetable oils, are difficult to apply to engines with explosions in the place of the es sence, to because of their very high boiling point and their often too viscous consistency which makes it difficult to air. Furthermore, in order to be able to be applied in engines of automobiles, trucks etc., this carburizing process must be very flexible to be able to follow the considerable variations in speed and power of the engine.
In the process according to the present invention, spraying and gasification of heavy oil is carried out by bringing it at ni) place of tent incandescent combustion products from a pressure burning hearth, such as a furnace or torch, and then mixed the mist thus formed with Fair to constitute the combustible mixture.
The apparatus for carrying out the assigned process according to the invention comprises a combustion chamber intended to be supplied with compressed air and liquid fuel, a positive device to effect the deceleration of the combustion products, UDO pumps at adjustable flow rate to supply this liquid fuel to the firebox, titi sprayer-nozzle intended to be heavy oil supply and opening to the de expansion device, a pump with adjustable flow to provide,

The <SEP> ttibe <SEP> 4 <SEP> is <SEP> elirotilà <SEP> in <SEP> form <SEP> of <SEP> serpen titi <SEP> 41 <SEP> to < SEP> thin <SEP> wall <SEP> in <SEP> its <SEP> part <SEP> located <SEP> in <SEP> from outside <SEP> said <SEP> fled <SEP> yer, <SEP> This < SEP> coil <SEP> is <SEP> connected '<SEP> e <SEP> a <SEP> ' <SEP> null <SEP> cir-
<tb> enit <SEP> electrical <SEP> 4, <SEP> from <SEP> way <SEP> to <SEP> obtain <SEP> titi <SEP> re-chatiffage <SEP> of < SEP> fuel <SEP> liquid, <SEP> garlic <SEP> medium of electrical starter placed in the wall of the coil.
In the variant shown in fig. '2, the coil 4' surrounds an electrical resistor 41 which shimmers the fuel by radiating yes to through a mastiqtiage. The heating of the coil 41 small atissi take place by tine flame or any lamp.
Once, the hearth started up and its walls devented chandes, the cliatiffage of the ser pentin 41 small being stipprimated, the oil being gasified in the part of the tLibe 4 eiironlée atitoLir said tUbe 3, by the Chalelll 'UVelOppée- in the very hearth.
This part of Tibet is protected by a refractory conch militia 2 '.
The incandescent coiiibLl. '# TiOll products formed by the combustion in the chamber () of the hearth pass into a united gasification chamber 9, to through uni Orifice 10 provided in </ B > united washer lffl, by relaxing during this passage, this washer being mounted in a united box at the top of the aforementioned hearth.
The loni-de to carbonated oil is brought to I oi-ifice to trigger 10 by titi giclenr He mounted in the top box 111 of the hearth, connected to the inlet titi tnyati d1inile lvtirde 12 and whose position by i # intake to the orifice 10 is adjustable intomatiqnenient, as will be explained further,
to form a sort of adjustment poiii- teaii through this orifice. Ttiyau 12 is intended to be connected to L1110, Pump has adjustable flow, serving to to provide 1 * oil pressure to the nozzle 11.
To facilitate the installation of the formed link in chamber 9, in the engine starter cylinder to explosions, small quantities of Gasoline or alcohol can be mixed with Joui-de-de-qtii oil which feeds the pnlverisatetir.
The ttivati 12 is wrapped in a self-winding coil of the aforementioned hearth to produce titi first rewriting of the conibtistible and siiiiiil- tanéMent titi cooled ## eiiieiit of FenvelopQ 1 said hearth.
This long oil pre-change is very titile in the case of thicker oils. Garlic instead of being effeettée by the ser pentin surrounding the hearth, it could be obtained by titi coil we have conduits housed in a cooler that we can pass through to the steam,
before either passage -firing engine (as will be explained later).
The heavy oil brought in the evening pressure by the 11 nozzle is sprayed by the incandescent combustion gases of the hearth by the expansion effect of these in 10 at the same time when it vaporizes, it is gasified in chamber 9 under the action of the heat of said 01az. To retain this heat, it is advisable to provide the chamber 9, in an extended evening area, with a heat-insulating jacket 91 (see fig. 8).
The intensity of the combustion in the hearth is regulated in such a way that the gases of combustion are at even vapor # r the oil fully under the action. from their heat, the fine droplets of heavy oil obtained by spraying the 11 nozzle are transformed into vapors.
Depending on the intensity of the combustion of the hearth and the proportion of heat transmitted to the pulverized heavy oil, it may take place either as a simple vaporization or gasification of the oil, or a real pyrogenation or dissociation, that is to say a kind. cracking accompanied by a partial formation of oil gas and light oils, It is therefore possible by appropriate choice of relative intensity of the combustion of the hearth, influence the chemical composition of the mixture form.
In the case of very heavy oils, it is advisable to obtain a good atomization of these that the pressure of the coin- btl ## tiOll gases of the fireplace is sufficiently high . The result of this is then that in 10 a high expansion accompanied by Lin cooling occurs, interfering with the vaporization of the heavy oil.
A device allowing Cie to provide a second heat input in the chamber 9 is provided to compensate for this cooling. Holes 50 -, made in the wall of the chamber 9 and these holes are surrounded by title movable crown 5L cry communication with title arrival of a- 52, in which is provided titi brâleui, 53;
by rotating the movable crown 51, oit small adjust the free passage section of the holes 50. The flared shape of the chamber 9 < / B> in which the expansion of the combustion gases of the hearth takes place causes suction through the holes 50, through which thus pass, depending on the case, either simply the incandescent gases to </ B> the atmospheric pressure of the burner 53, either these gases mixed with a certain quantity of air which will allow additional combustion of the steam contained in the chamber 9,
either only from Fair to cause said additional combustion which in this case is started by means of an electric candle 54, In all cases, the call for heat is obtained increasing the gasification of the lotir-de oil mist.
The mist thus formed is conducted, cortinio oit le see in fig. 6, in titi container 13 0-to take place possible cooling by bat-- botage in fuel oil which can then be used for feeding the nozzle 11 , titi tube 55 containing this fuel oil (fig. 6) to send it by means of the pump title 33 in the gi cleur 11. Thus the particles of the mist which would be lost by cooling can again enter the circulation .
A cooling of the heavy oil mist is also obtained, as seen in fig. 3, cry surrounding the part of the room 9 which is in the vicinity of of the exit of this one , by (serpentine line 12 'by run by Heavy cold oil which goes through pipe 12 to the nozzle It.
6changeUrs-coolers 12l ' to ait-, to water or to oil are also placed (fig. 3) </ B> at this place to cool the mist and thus reduce to a minimum the volumetric power losses of the engine caused by the high temperature of the mist. It is also theirs possible to do without this cooling.
The heavy oil mist is mixed at the intake pipe 15 of the engine and is mixed with the large mass of air in the engine. 'suction of the engine by the following device, similar to those generally employed in gas engines and comprising a throttle valve, shock absorber and other orgarres ensuring the drink mixture of the two gases.
On the pipe 15 is first provided the shock absorber 17, made up of an elastic metallic niénibrane 18 , the peripheral part of which is corrugated . Co device allows (1 * .ttiioi-tir the jolts of aspiration. Then, the eoiiduite 15 opens in title eliambre 16 oit the mixture of mist and air occurs.
A 161 deflector (fig. 3) deflects the current of steam to cause evening mixing with] 'ait , sucked in through ports 16 # '. Speed pa pin 14 provided in the 15 ' pipe then makes it possible to adjust the flow of fuel mixture admitted into the engine.
The automatic adjustment of the so-called IL position with respect to to Hole 10, which was mentioned above, is carried out as follows :
The nozzle It is mounted so to be able to slide in a box it 'screwed on the top of the combustion chamber. It is integral with flexible membrane title 60 on the outer face of.
which acts the atitrospheric pros- .sion and whose inner face u, is subjected to the pressure prevailing in] .a combustion clianibred C), , by means of 61 holes drilled in a guide wall dit b nozzle 11 to the inside the box il '. A spring 62,
adjustable tension applies equally - pull on the membrane 60 to act in opposition to the pressure inside the interior of the fireplace .
When this pressure varies, for example increases, the pressure on the outside face of the membrane remaining constant, the membrane C9 and the nozzle 11 move in a direction to decager Expansion port 10 and to consequently reduce the pressure in the combustion chamber 6 and vice versa.
Figs. 4 and 5 represent, following two sections perpendicular to one to the other, a variant of the combustion chamber with gioleur, with circular chamber and with tangential air inlet.
In duct 24 introduces tangentially into the combustion chamber 61 the compressed air, and the fuel (heavy oil) enters it into 5. < / B> The gases are ignited by the 8 ' spark plug and enter in rapid rotation in the combustion chamber, under the constant air flow of compressed air, this rotation now as continuous combustion of the fuel. - swaddle. The flame then comes out through a 10 trigger hole located in the axis of the combustion chamber.
The heavy oil is brought as before to Port 10 by the nozzle It to spray.
Fig. 6. sclienically represents the set of different organs and in particular the means% of i - ('# - la-e which allow to maintain the fuel eonstance in all conditions.
