La fig. 1 est une coupe verticale longitu dinale suivant la ligne1-1 de la fig. 2, -d'une première formed'exécution de cette ins tallation; La, fig. 2 en est une coupe transversale suivant la ligne 2-2 de la -fig. 1; Les fig. 3 et 4, -d'une part, et5 et6, d'au tre part, sont -des vues analogues d'une deuxième et dune troisième forme d'exécu tion; Lafie.7 est une coupe partielle d'une quatrième forme -d'exécution;
On al lume #lui-ci, on bouche ensuite l'orifice16.
Method of combustion of a liquid fuel and installation for its implementation. The present invention comprises a process for the combustion of a liquid fuel. It is characterized in that one produces successively and at -different points -the evaporation -of the fuel, liquid, the gasification by mixing the vapors formed with the combustion air, and the combustion -du gas thus formed.
The invention also comprises an installation: for carrying out said method. This installation is characterized in that it consists of at least one burner comprising two separate chambers, one of which is used for the evaporation of the liquid fuel, the second to gasification by mixing the vapors formed with combustion air, and the third, to la.
combustion -of the gas thus formed, these -chambers being arranged such that, during the operation of the burner, -that in which the evaporation takes place is not in direct contact with the flames and is maintained at a suitable temperature, to ensure the best evaporation without forming decoke. According to a preferred embodiment of the installation, the burner has three concentric chambers, the central chamber serving for the evaporation of the liquid fuel, the intermediate chamber for the, gas-di- cation and the outer chamber to the combustion. 9 As we can see, thanks to this,
Available, the central chamber, intended for the evaporation, is heated only indirectly, by irradiation of the walls of the intermediate gasification chamber.
The appended drawings represent, by by way of examples, several embodiments of the installation that the invention comprises.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal vertical section taken along the line 1-1 of fig. 2, -a first form of execution of this installation; The, fig. 2 is a cross section taken along line 2-2 of -fig. 1; Figs. 3 and 4, -on the one hand, and 5 and 6, on the other hand, are analogous views of a second and third form of execution; The fie. 7 is a partial section of a fourth form of execution;
Fig. 8 is a longitudinal section, taken along the line 8-8 -of fig. 9, of a fifth embodiment comprising several burners arranged so as to to form a heating grid; Fig. 9 is a cross section along the line 9-9 -of fig. 8.
#D The installation shown in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a burner comprising a pipe 1 through which the -combustible comes under pressure, for example -from a container placed under load. This pipe 1, provided with an adjustment valve la, opens into a horizontal tabular chamber 2, of axis XX, made of metal or any other suitable material, dars which evaporates the combustible. This chamber 2 is pierced with openings 3 through which the combustible vapors exit.
The openings 3 are separated from each other, but they could also be joined to each other and form one or more, longitudinal slits extending over all or part of the length of the tube 2.
Externally, the tube 2 comprises stirring fins 4 attached by any means'.
Around the tube 2 is menacred a second to -said gasification chamber. This chamber to is extended by a connector -G through which the air arrives regulated by any valve 7. This connector 6 carries < B> the fuel inlet tube 1 .
The tube 8 which - delimits the à gasification chamber - opens through a series of openings 9, -of suitable shape and dimensions, in a third chamber 10 called of -combustion, with the same horizontal axis XX as chambers 2 and 5. </ B> This chamber 10., -whose section is annular, is fixed to the connection 6 by means of a ring 11.-This chamber 10 -communicates with the interior of the connector 6 by a series of channels 12 formed in the ring 11, and provided with calibrated orifices 13.
The flames come out of the #room 10 through an opening 14.
In this form of execution, the opening 14 is horizontal and located, mivant the X-X axis.
The wall of the 10 combustion chamber has a 16 orifice with a 17 plug - intended at the burner ignition.
The operation is as follows: the burner communicates to them, on the one hand, with the liquid fuel tank see to through the pipe 1 and, on the other hand, with a ventilator or other device -delivery -d'air by the connection 6. The air can also be sucked in by the natural draft of the chimney.
A small quantity of easily ignited liquid fuel (eg alcohol) is poured through the opening 16 . We turn on # this, then plug the port 16. % open the, valve 7 adjustment, air to activate the. combustion of the alcohol and open the fuel regulator valve.
This one arrives, by the, conduit 1, to the, central chamber # of evaporation # ration 2, which is heated fairy by Pirradiation of the walls 8 -de the gasification chamber 5 which arrives at, reaching a very high temperature as a result of their contact with the flame of the, combustion -of the alcohol, this which causes the evapiaration -of the liquid fuel -from the chamber 9, without forming coke.
The fuel vapors produced in the evaporation chamber 2 exit through the openings 3 and mix., In the gasification chamber 5, with a suitable quantity -dair cliauff 6 by irradiating the walls 8 -of chamber 5, which gives rise to a light gas.
The gas obtained in this way comes out through the openings 9 and ignites in the. 10 combustion chamber with the ec # tact of the alcohol flame. Combustion continues as a result of the continuous supply of gas supplied by the mixture of vapors, liquid fuel and -air. The air which arrives in the combustion chamber by the orifices 12 pushes the flame towards the exit 14, everything. by activating and closing the combustion and at the same time keeping at low temperature the walls of the combustion chamber 10, in order to avoid external irradiation of the heat.
To turn off the burner, close the valve, the fuel regulator and the. air adjustment valve 7 .
Cleaning the inside of the burner is simple and easy; it suffices to separate the combustion chamber 10, from that of gasification 5, all the parts are then accessible.
The ease of cleaning the burner allows the use of fuel, which is a very high density liquid, because the residues then inevitable are deposited in the bottom of the combustion chamber.
As can be seen, this installation makes it possible to divide the combustion of liquid fuel into three very distinct stages: evaporation, gasification and combustion proper.
In the installation shown in fig. 3 and 4, the release of the flames a. place from above, perpendicular to the X-X axis of the three chambers of evaporation, gasification and combustion, which are also concentric.
Finally, -in the installation shown in fi--. to and 6, the, exit of the flame takes place in parallel to l 'axis XX, but at, some distance from this axis, the chambers being also concentric in this form of operation.
In the two installations of fig. 3, 4 and 5, 6, the mixing fins 4 of the gasification chamber 5 are made up of # discs, placed in an inclined position on the tube 2, the axis connecting the center island, these discs being inclined relative to to the axis XX, these discs forming between them and the 8 tube of the gas passages.
In these two embodiments, the tube 8 is screwed into a threaded hole 20 of the body of the burner. In addition, in the installation of figs. 5 and 6, the wall joa of the combustion chamber 10 is surrounded by a pa king 21 leaving with it a passage 22. This passage starts on the one hand at 23 (fitD. 6) in the atmosphere, at the base of the burner and at 24, following a annular shape, around the orifice 14 of the combustion chamber.
Complementary air can enter 23, reheats at 22 and emerge at 24, in the flame, in order to recover the heat radiated by the joa walls of the combustion chamber.
In the installation shown to, in fig. 7, lei tube. central 2 is screwed, in 25 -in a block 26, -in which is screwed, in 27, the connection -98 - arrival of liquid fuel.
This connection is extended by a -vertical pipe 29- closing in a siphon 30 tooth the, second branch is connected, by the -conduit 31 </ B > of bloe 29, inside inside -tube 9, The block 2,6 has a surface troncc, - external nick 32 which is clamped in a hole, in the same shape of a ring 33, in which is screwed, at 34, the tube 8. This ring 33 is itself embolished by a truncated conical surface 35 - in a housing of the same shape of the body 36 of the burner.
The parts 9-6 and 33 are held in place by a tightening system, consisting of a screw, 37 resting in 3.8, in the center of the block, 26, and screwing into a cross member 39, fixed by side bolts and spacers on the body 36. 1 The gasification air arrives at 42, passes through an annular ellamber 43 of the body, 36, from where it goes into the tube < B> 8 by orifices 44 made in the crown 33 ,.
As can be seen, the assembly and de- assembly are very easy. In order to dismantle the burner, after loosening the screw 37, , it suffices to make the cross member 39 # oscillate around one of the aforementioned side bolts to be able to remove the block 26 with the tube 2, then the crown 33- with the tube 8. The natural draft through the chimney may be employee. In this case, it would suffice to provide air inlets in the body M in front of the chamber 43.
1iinstallatien shown in fig. 8 and 9 consists of several burners arranged so as to to, form # a liquid fuel grid , which allows a rational distribution of the heating. These burners are arranged side to side and each have three concentric chambers, as described for the previous installations. The combustion chambers 10 are open, on the top, so as to lead into the foyer.
Each of the burners is removable independently of the neighbors, which is particularly advantageous for the individual cleaning of said burners, this cleaning being able to be carried out without stopping the heating. Air favoring the draft passes, through the intervals 2,3 included between the burners, heats up on contact with the joa des walls; combustion chambers and enters the flame through ori fices 13 ,.
In -this installation, the tubes. -9 and 8 -key each burner are carried by a block 26 housed -in a tapered housing 2 ! 6a of the burner body. These tubes. could be mounted as shown to in fig. 7.
Of course, the. grid, can be formed from any number of key burners, same dimensions and power or not, which will make it possible to obtain - grids - of all climates, and shapes and a uniform distribution or not - of the heating on the extent - of the grid according to the power - of the different burners.
It can therefore be seen that all the installations described comprise at least one burner, the latter having three chambers, and that the chamber in which the evaporation takes place is not in direct contaetdirect with the flames.
