kl,
Process for the preparation and combustion of a combustible gas mixture and installation for its implementation. The invention comprises a process for the preparation and combustion of a combustible gas mixture and an installation for its implementation.
According to this process, the air intended for producing the mixture with a fuel is heated beforehand before coming into contact with the latter, the combustion being carried out by means of at least one burner in in which a current of this hot air is divided into two concentric ' currents each following a helical path in the opposite direction to each other, up to the burner nozzle where they meet again , the fuel being mixed with at least with one of these streams.
In the installation for the implementation of this process, the burner comprises two concentric tubes between which an annular space is left free, this arrangement having the aim of dividing the air stream in two. hot brought to the burner to be ni (, - changed with the fuel, each of these divided streams receiving, by means of guide members arranged in the central ilibe and in the free space between the two tubes, a helical movement in the opposite direction to each other, a fuel pipe leading to the path of one of the two streams,
the purpose of this arrangement is to obtain an intimate mixture of the fuel with the air of which the current supplied to the burner is heated beforehand by means. an appropriate device.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, three embodiments of an installation for the implementation of the assigned process as well as views of detail of a burner.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of this burner; Fig. 2 cry is a detail view partially in section; Fig. 3 is a transverse section taken along the line 3-3 of fig. 1; Fig. 4 is an elevation of a first embodiment of the installation; Fig. 5 is an end view; Bed fig. 6 is part of a partially sectional view of a second embodiment of the installation; Fig. 7 is part of a view of the third embodiment of the installation.
With reference to fig. 1à 'a, each burner their of the installation comprises two concentric tubes a and d between which a free annular space is formed by means of gauges a2. The ends ci ' and d' of the two tubes forming the burner nozzle are slightly narrowed. In the rear part of the tube a is housed a guille b which forms in this tube a path following a helical spiral. In the part of the free space between the tubes ci, and d, closest to the burner nozzle, there are fins c so to give the current passing through this part, a helical movement.
The guides b and c are arranged one in relation to to the other, so to cause helical movements of Fair in direction opposite.
An iijutage e serving to bring fuel to the burner is mounted towards one end of the latter. This nozzle e passes through the tubes d and a and protrudes inside the latter.
The adjitt-, i, ge could also open into the tube a and into the annular space at both. The -iiide b consists of a #I plate twisted into helical turns and # extending over only a part of the length of the tube ci. This plate b presents an extension b ', in the shape of a tice, which is attached to a plate f, mounted on the.
posterior pakie (the outer tube d -, through which the air inlet is made. This rod V supports the tube a. to </ B > one of its ends, and the gui- of the c. interposed between the tubes a and d over a certain length of the tube a as well as the spacers a 'support said tube a. at the other of its ends.
In addition, the position of the tube a relative to the tube d is assu jettie by the engagement of the afage e in the holes provided, for mounting, in the two tubes respectively. * A tube f for supplying air to the burner is moknté at the rear part of each tube d. This tube is provided with a f \ valve to regulate the air inlet and it is connected to a y, pipe in zi #, - za-, (fi- 5) which is used to heat the Fair before its back you burner.
The y duct is partly placed in a hot room h (fig. -1) or the heat recovery chamber, which is located above a heated J, fireplace.
The, fig. 4 shows a heating furnace provided with four burners arranged in pairs on the two opposite sides of the furnace. Fuel, for example oil, is contained in tank ii, and supplied to the burners by pipes v and o, the supply of each burner being able to be regulated by a Yanne p. </ B > The necessary air is sent to the burners by a fan în disposed to side of the oven and actuated by a device not shown in the drawing.
The fan is connected by a 1 duct to a the distribution duct which is itself connected to the y ducts passing through in k n rooms heated as soon as the burners are in operation, in the J. fireplace.
The operation of each burner in this installation is as follows: The oil is supplied to the burner by the adjustment and a current of hot air, the temperature of which is greater than than the temperature of the oil, is sent to the tubes a, and d by the fan #jn. Thanks to the guilles 1) and c arranged in helical turns,
the air currents passing through the tubes a and d rotate in opposite direction to the other. The oil, introduced into tube a # is drawn in by the air current which y passes towards the anterior end of tube a where the air current passing through d meets the first current and where due to]. 'Opposition existing between the directions of rotation of these air currents there is a brasskige of Fair (,
baud and oil. The oil, as soon as it arrives in the stream of hot air passing through tube a, is more or less completely vaporized and its gasification takes place to the point where the streams of air meet and mix. and where it ignites. Fig. 6 represents the application of this installation to a marine boiler. In this embodiment, the g zig zag ducts are arranged at the lower part of the chimney breast t, at near the boiler heads.
The entrance to the hearth j is closed by a lining q made of refractory bricks, in which the front part of the burners is also housed. The latter are supplied with hot air and fuel, in the same way as in the first embodiment.
In the installation shown in FIG. 7, and applied to -a vertical boiler, the arrangement and supply of each burner is similar to that of the forms of execution. previous cutiou. In this form, the recovery chamber h is mounted on the boiler and communicates with the fireplace by a flue t, terminating in the middle part of its bottom. In its upper wall are formed outlet openings h ' for the gases circulating in this chamber.
The g ducts are arranged in a zig-zag way throughout this chamber h, so that they are continuously heated by the gases coming from the fireplace and passing through the flue t.
An installation established according to the invention can be applied to lighting, as well as to heating.
Instead of oil, one could use as fuel, for example, coal gas. In the latter case, the nozzle e, for the introduction of fuel into the burners, must be provided with a device which allows both the gas inlet to be regulated.
