Il est entendu que les parties représentées sur la fig. 1 forment un, groupes :d'organes de plusieurs groupes montés dans le bâti 2; autrement dit, ce groupe peut être employé pour la formation d'une seule longueur de fil sans torsion;
Device for the manufacture of threads. The present invention relates to a device for the manufacture of yarns, such as cotton yarns, twisted combed wool yarns, woolen yarns, artificial silk yarns, jute yarns, etc., from rovings or yarns. non-twisted fibers. Such a non-twist yarn can be used in the manufacture of fabrics, for example to form the weft of the latter or for other useful applications.
Wicks or fibers of material as they exit from the feed rolls of a series of drawing rollers of a continuous ring loom or of a known drawing system may be used in the device - of the invention and will be designated herein by the term "torsion free".
I- @ e device object of the invention is charac terized in that it comprises food rollers between which said fibers advance in the dry state and in the form of a thin ribbon to arrive at: a ribbon conveyor moving .in the same direction, this conveyor tape being .destined to receive an adhesive sif to apply it to the fibers, -in that it further comprises one or more rolls carefully which passes the tape. -of fibers and which act by a vibratory lateral movement on the fibers to bring them closer to each other for their attachment to each other,
and in that it has means for drying the fibers thus fixed.
The means of drying can be either artificial by employing heat, or natural by employing air.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically, by way of examples, embodiments of the device.
Fig. I is a side elevation of a first embodiment; Figs. 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 .are -partial elevations .d'other embodiments; Figs. 3 and 4 show details of the first embodiment on a large scale. According to fig. 1, a source of fibrous material is shown at 1 and occupies a vertical position on a frame 2. The fibers are designated by the number 3 before, during and after their treatment.
It is assumed that the source 1 carries wicks or a fibrous material of such a nature that it is known to be at the outlet of any usual series of drawing rollers; the drawing shows that this fibrous material is removed by the rollers 4, forming part of a transport system; the fibers come out of the exit rollers of this system without twisting, as has been explained. In the various figures, the reference numeral 5 refers to output rollers, whether or not part of a transport system.
It is understood that the parts shown in FIG. 1 form one, groups: of members of several groups mounted in the frame 2; in other words, this group can be used for forming a single length of wire without twisting;
other adjacent groups that can -être parallel to the first, can be .disposés in 12 same frame. It is also evident that the material supplied to any of the groups may come from a single source such as 1 or from several sources, from which the fibers intended for a group according to FIG. 1, for example converge on the relevant transport or exit rollers. When the fibers are untwisted in the sources, the use of transport rollers may not be necessary.
When the fibers leave. the output rollers 5 in the case: of FIG. 1, in the form of a thin ribbon without twisting, they are immediately carried by a transport ribbon 6 and are brought by the latter crossing an interval at. another transport tape 7.
The latter is constantly moistened with a suitable liquid adhesive by means of a roller 8 carrying this tape and adjacent to a lower roller 9 located in a trough 10 containing the liquid. The excess liquid is returned to the trough 10 by a device shown at 11, provided with a rubber gasket and being in contact with the underside of the strip 7 of the by another device.
The fibers of material being in the group or in a ribbon thus receive an adhesive so that they are fixed to each other before: arriving at a roll 12. This is supposed to be mounted so as to be able to turn. ner in:
arms projecting from a shaft 13 capable of receiving a reciprocating longitudinal movement for the purpose of giving the roller 12 lateral vibration or reciprocating transverse movement. @This lateral vibratory movement gives the fibers a movement tending to bring them closer to each other for their attachment to each other.
One way to achieve this lateral movement is shown in fig. 3, although any other suitable means may be used. The shaft 13, playing in bearings by: parts of a cross section, square, has a tie neck 15 pivoted on it; an eccentric disc 16 is housed in the collar and is in connection with a pulley 17 placed below and actuated by a belt 18 set in motion in some way.
In fig. 3, the roller 12 of a neighboring group of organs is indicated.
When the moistened fibers leave the roll 12, they pass under a wheel 19 in the form of a pulley. As indicated in fig. 4, this wheel has a groove forming an acute angle at its inner end, and also serving to bring the fibers into contact with one another or to thus maintain them in contact.
The yarn or fibers attached to each other are wound on a spool indicated at 2.0; between the roller or the wheel 19 and the coil 20 the wire 3 can undergo the operation -de final drying, produced here by its exposure to the open air.
However, artificial drying can be used if desired, for example by passing the yarn through a heated chamber, say before it reaches the spool 20. The tube 22 of FIG. 1 could also receive a hot fluid with a view to this drying: In FIG. 2, the transport tape 6 of FIG. 1 is deleted: the fibers 3 pass directly in the dry state to the humidifier tape 7 and are finally wound on a rotating drum indicated at 21.
According to fig. 5, the fibers are moistened with the adhesive after leaving the tape 7, by virtue of the fact that they pass over a roller 23 rotating in a trough 24 containing the liquid adhesive.
Fig. 6 shows an arrangement similar to that of FIG. 5, but in which the ru ban 7 is deleted.
Fig. 7 shows a following arrangement in which the finished yarn is wound up on a spool located above the roller 12 mentioned above. In this case, the thread passes partially around the roller? 2 for the stated purpose.
In fig. 8, the last mentioned roller is deleted; if the shafts of the rolls carrying the tape 7 are arranged -in the way shown in fi-. 3, a vibratory lateral movement can be imparted to said ribbon to bring the fibers together before the latter, in the form of wire, are wound up, on the spool such as 20, or on another support device.
In order to actuate the various tapes and rollers indicated, any suitable means may be employed. The construction of the frame, the number of groups of components in it, may vary.
An adhesive suitable for the mentioned purpose can be prepared, for example, by taking 250 g of strong glue and dissolving them in 4 1 / - liters of hot water. However, it is possible to use a customary primer such as that which is used in roller or drum sizing machines and in similar machines.
