Timepiece with electromagnetic balance controlling the time-indicating wheel The object of the present invention is a pif '-. This watchmaking with electromagnetic balance controlling the time indicator cog, in which the balance shaft has two superimposed parts with ramps, the latter acting in turn on a toothed wheel which they always turn in the same direction.
Usually, these parts are constituted by a washer from which is cut a tongue of short length and con sequently rigid. In accordance with the present invention, each of these parts comprises a hub by which it is fixed to the axis of the balance and which carries an elastic annular arm extending over nearly 360o and at the end of which is the ramp, the two ramps being superimposed and inclined in opposite directions; these ramps therefore act like a pawl allowing the teeth of the the wheel to pass while emitting that they come back back.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Figure 1 is a general elevational view.
Figures 2, 3 and 4 show a detail on a larger scale. Figures 5 to 8 illustrate its operation.
The timepiece shown comprises an electromagnetic balance associated with the hairspring 1 and comprising on its axis 2, two magnetized parts 3 arranged on either side of a coil 4; in the circuit thereof are arranged a source of electricity and a switch or a transistor not shown; the electrical pulses in opposite directions produced in the coil 4 in turn act on the parts 3 in opposite directions.
On the axis 2 of the balance are arranged two clamps 5 and 6 each formed of a hub 5a respectively 6a driven on the shaft and a circular elastic arm 5b respectively 6b, ending in the ramp 5c respectively 6c. The two ramps 5c, 6c are arranged one above the other and inclined in opposite directions; they act on the wheel 7 which controls, via the gear train 8 and 9, the mobile 10 carrying the minute hand. The diameter of arm 5 'is slightly larger than that of arm 6.
The function is as follows: In FIG. 5, the ramp 5c will engage under the tooth a of the wheel and push it upwards at the same time as this tooth và inclines the free end of the arm 5b downwards; therefore, the ramp 6c will come into contact with the next tooth b which will tilt the free end of the arm 6 upwards (fig. 6).
FIG. 7 shows the tooth a having passed above the ramp 5c at the same time as the tooth b, after having passed under the ramp 6c came to be placed opposite the latter; at this moment, the direction of rotation of the axis 2 changes and the tooth b starts to rise along the ramp 6c while moving downwards, the free end of the arm 6; at the same time. this tooth comes into contact with the ramp 5c and lifts the free end of the arm 5; tooth b thus slides between the two ramps and will take the place of tooth -a shown in FIG. 5. In this way, wheel 7 always turns in the same direction, without being able to accidentally go back.
