Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines elastischen kautschukartigen Körpers.    Im Hauptpatent ist ein Verfahren be  schrieben, gemäss welchem man zu einem  elastischen, kautschukartigen Körper gelangt,  der sich zum Beispiel auch auf den in der  Gummiindustrie gebräuchlichen Maschinen  wie natürlicher Kautschuk verarbeiten, so  wie mit Füllstoffen, z. B. Zinkoxyd, Russ,  Magnesia usw., sowie mit natürlichem Kaut  schuk,     Faktis,        Regeneraten    usw. mischen,  formen und vulkanisieren lässt, wenn man  Schwefel oder schwefelabgebende Stoffe auf       Äthylendichlorid    in Gegenwart eines wässe  rigen, alkalischen, alkoholischen oder andern  Lösungsmittels zur Einwirkung bringt.  



  Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man zu  einem ähnlichen Körper gelangt, wenn man  in jenem Verfahren - statt     Äthylendi-          chlorid    - ein Gemisch von Formaldehyd  und     Äthylendibromid    verwendet, auf das  man Schwefel oder schwefelabgebende Sub  stanzen in     Polysnlfidform,    in der Wärme  oder bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur, einwirken  lässt. Das erhaltene Produkt ist ein kaut-         schukartiger,    elastischer, in Schwefelkohlen  stoff löslicher Körper. .

      <I>Beispiel</I>  Auf<B>100</B> Teile einer     wässerigen,    alkoholi  schen oder alkalischen Lösung, welche Schwe  fel enthält und zum Beispiel als Lösung von       Schwefelcalaium    in     Polysulfidform    dadurch  erhalten wird, dass man Kalkhydrat mit  Schwefel und Wasser kocht und die Lösung  filtriert, wird ein     Gemiseh    von 3 Teilen For  maldehyd und 3 Teilen     Äthylendibromid    unter  Erwärmen zur Einwirkung gebracht.     E9    ent  steht ein kautschukartiger, elastischer Kör  per, der in Schwefelkohlenstoff löslich ist.  Die Modifikation des angewandten Schwefels  wird bestimmend für den Grad der Löslich  keit des gebildeten kautschukartigen Körpers  in Schwefelkohlenstoff.

   Die Umwandlung  kann auch bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur  durch Stehenlassen während einiger Tage  durchgeführt werden.
